Your leader's residence

Postby Gandoor » Sat Dec 03, 2016 2:38 am

The Prime Minister of Gandoor and their family reside in a two-story building simply called The Prime Minister's House. The first floor contains rooms relating to the running of the government, including the Prime Minister's Office, as well as the state dining room and kitchen. The second floor is the residential area and specifically where the Prime Minister and family live.

The first floor of the Prime Minister's House is open to guided tours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The second floor is not open to the public and is only accessible to the Prime Minister, their family, staff members, or people that they personally invite.

The first floor's design plans are officially to remain unchanged as Prime Ministers change, but in practice, things such as hanging new paintings up, rearranging furniture in the PM's office, and adding small objects to give it a bit of a personal touch is an accepted practice for each new Prime Minister. Conversely, the second floor is dramatically altered for each new Prime Minister and their family, in order to make it feel like home for them.

Dolan Fitzpatrick, the President of the Republic Of Paumanok, as well as his wife and two children, live in the Brick House. The Brick House is located in Riverhead, our nation's Capital. The Brick House is a large, sprawling plantation style house made from brick (obviously) and is one of the oldest buildings in Riverhead. Interestingly enough, the bricks that the Brick House is famous for are made from a type of clay that is so common in Riverhead County that most of the older buildings, as well as all of the government buildings in Riverhead are made from the same bricks. A true example of traditional Paumanokian architecture, the Brick House is not extravagant, and all of its architectural features are designed for practical use. It is simple and minimalistic in design, but is also elegant and pleasing to the eye. The first floor mostly consists of rooms related to running the gvernment, and includes a dining room and Presidential office, as well as the Situation Room, which is designed for millitary command, and handling international crisis situations. The second floor is the residential part of the Brick House, where the President and his family live. The second floor as well as the Situation Room are off limits to the public. The first floor of the Brick House is open to tourists and the public for guided tours on Tuesday and Thursday. President Fitzpatrick sometimes likes to give the tours himself, but the Secret Service is always trying to talk him out of it. However it is worth noting that as per traditional Paumanokian culture, any citizen can meet with the president in his office if they first book an appointment. You'd better have a good reason for it though. President Dolan does not like his time being wasted.

President Fitzpatrick likes to give his speeches and addresses from the second floor balcony of the Brick House. The balcony was not designed for this however, and speakers and microphones had to be installed on the balcony for the President to use.

Palace of New Richmond: The Palace is the home to the Imperial States America Royal Family it was built using slave labor and prisoners from several hard labor camps it took 10 years to build the palace by the hands of over 110,000 slaves & prisoners. During the construction over 1900 workers died. The palace plays host to fancy dress parties for the wealthy and Royalty of the world it also has amenities such as running water, central heating and cooling, indoor plumbing, etc of which no one outside of the wealthy has access to. The palace has a staff of over 6,000 people half of whom live in tiny one room shacks in a walled of slave quarter on the other side of the property. Most of the staff works an average of 16-19 hour days why'll earning only around .50¢ a day. The palace cost around $900,000,000 credits and sits on over 109,000 acres that sit just 10 miles outside New Richmond. To build the palace the entire city of Freedonia which housed 5,000 people was the only place free people lived in the ISA was razed to the ground its citizens were taken by force to new housing elsewhere.

The historic Vruncattél, nestled on the edge of Mültívac's Central Administrative District, has traditionally been the residence of unified Malsitar's Prime Ministers, and served before that as the resident of the Princeps of the Malitivian House of Lords. It was originally built in the 1407 as part of a larger castle complex by Andreas Mullitiv, Duke of Mulltivacy. Much of the greater structure was demolished in the late 17th and early 18th century, and today only Vruncattél and a small section of the outer wall which stands near the Camer Parlamentér about a block away.

The President of Avetinia resides in the Palace of the President, formerly the Doge's Palace, which is located on the Avenue of the Republic in the Palatial District of the capital city, Marmora. While still a palace building, it is rather modest in comparison to the buildings of other countries. The palace is the President's workplace and often living quarters, though starting in 1980 they did not have to live in the Palace. The Palace was supposedly first built in 1660 as a residence for doges of Avetinia, but was burnt down and rebuilt many times in the 18th and 19th centuries. The current building was built in 1870, and was renovated in 1905, 1936, 1976 and 2005.

The She-King of Penguins lives in the palace atop of Penguinopolis, where she has a luxurious apartment-style residence and access to full service of cooks and maids. Also, a throne room.

The Chairpenguin lives in a fairly modest single-room apartment, a private residence in Penguinopolis, near the She-King. He also has access to full service of cooks and maids.

Honestly, the luxury of the leaders is pretty much just like living in a decent hotel. Even the Founder lives in a one-room residence and doesn't even have a garage or anything like that (though that's fine, since he doesn't drive). Nobody's especially extravagant in the PUN.

The ruler of Brellach resides in the Divine Queen's Sanctuary. This heavily guarded, open-air shelter is located within an extensive, untamed wilderness in the woods just outside Sheoth, and is essentially a roof on legs. It has no walls or floors and is made entirely from natural materials, designed purely to keep the rain off the Queen in winter. Inside the shelter there is only a small bookcase, complete with books she enjoys or needs, and she is permitted nothing else. Brellachi Queens only spend any time indoors when such is absolutely necessary for their health (or during particularly bad weather) or required for her to conduct her duties, so that she may maintain her connection to the 'True Ground'.

Leader Megatron, being the founder of the nation and its only ruler, does not have to live in some generically-named house. The Megatron Mansion is his extravagant residence.

Those who are privileged enough to see the Megatron Mansion in person will surely notice its active fountain of Energon Supreme first. Energon is our fuel, but it is also our currency - and Supreme is the highest grade publicly available. That makes this a literal fountain of money. Despite the opulence of this, it is not done in a garish Trumpian way, but instead, is very high-class. The fountain is guarded by a cadre of seven elite troops, who each get to take two Cubes' worth of Energon from the fountain at the end of their shifts in order to help dampen the desire to steal even more of it. Other than that, the Fountain doesn't cost Megatron as much as the sight of it implies - the Energon, save for the Cubes given to the guards and that lost to evaporation, is endlessly recycled through the system.

The rest of the Mansion, from the outside, is clearly upscale but is also surprisingly minimalistic considering its value. Most of it is only one story tall, but it is a very long and sprawling structure.

Like all of the buildings on Cybertron, it is made of several layers of metal. The underlying material is what we refer to as "architectural steel," which is a common corrosion-resistant alloy we use for the actual structure of most of our buildings, but for the Mansion, this layer is very thick in order to better resist blaster fire and other ordnance. There is also an underlying armor layer on both sides of the structural aspect. What people see from the outside, however, is an alloy based on a non-tarnishing silver-like material combined with even lighter metals on the "silver" end of the visual spectrum. This is blended with a material that eliminates the glare of the metals and provides a much more eye-soothing facade.

Windows in the Mansion are small. This is strictly for security reasons. Presidents may think that they face danger, but this factor is 100x stronger for a dictator.

Inside, the Megatron Mansion is the picture of tasteful class. Flooring ranges from light-colored metal alloys all the way to rich coppers and bronzes, depending on the room. The wall color also depends on the room, with large areas done in light alloys that contain just a bit of darker metal to add character, and smaller rooms - like Megatron's private office - done in copper-rich browns and tans. The array of colors that we attain by carefully alloying metals is far beyond what would be expected in a society that did not rely so heavily on metallic materials.

In some areas, the appearance of other materials, such as stone, is expertly mimicked. This is most notable in the main room, where the floor appears to be marble. Real marble, however, would soon crack and chip under the weight of Megatron's huge and heavily-armored body. Therefore, the floor is actually an example of the expert counterfeiting skills that are hallmarks of Decepticon craftsmen. The actual material is a strong metal alloy that has just enough give to avoid cracking and metal fatigue while still being strong enough to resist dents.

The Megatron Mansion has another feature found only in the wealthiest homes: On-tap Energon. Most people get their Energon in Cubes and then store it in home vaults until they need to use it. At the Megatron Mansion, however, you simply turn on the faucet. What comes out is the one grade of Energon that is better than Supreme: Megatron's Private Reserve. This is only available to Megatron himself and to those he honors, so if it were to be sold, it would trade at a rate of at least 1,000 Cubes of Standard to 1 Cube of it due to its rarity and high status. For Megatron, however, it is simply what he drinks. The actual, practical quality of Megatron's Private Reserve is slightly above that of Supreme: It has the best filtration applied and the finest engine-protective additives put into it before being piped to the Mansion. Importantly, it does indeed stand out as better in blind taste tests.

A few other very wealthy people have on-tap Energon, but they must settle for Supreme. Their Energon is also paid in advance and then metered out, whereas Megatron has an infinite and unmetered supply thanks to owning the Energon company.

Other fancy aspects of the Megatron Mansion are only seen by Megatron himself. He has a top-notch workshop (to us, a workshop is as de rigueur as a bathroom is in a modern human house) with sludge-repelling pipes for his oil disposal, an excellent wash-and-wax station, the absolute best mechanical tools, the best oil, the best anti-boil/anti-freeze, and the best transmission fluid. A relatively small safe contains several sticks of solid fuel for space flight. There is, however, only one workshop - robots don't have to get into them with a sense of immediate urgency, so it's fine to have just one even if it's on the far end of a big manor.

Another area only Megatron sees is the carefully-hidden secret room where he has a few of his spare bodies. Spare bodies are part of the key to our near-invincibility; if one's current body is killed, there will usually be time to transfer one's mind-data to a spare to keep on living with only the minor inconvenience of the unintended location change. This room has extreme security, including weapons that will fire lethal force at any detected intruders. Even so, Megatron has hundreds of other spares hidden in random places both inside and outside the Empire's borders. Copies of his mind, known as "saves," are also hidden in random places but NOT in the Mansion.

There is one more notable thing about the Megatron Mansion and the large amount of land it sits on: There are no statues of Megatron on the property (and in fact, there are no officially-commissioned ones anywhere). This is because Megatron has noticed that in other dictatorships, putting up statues leads to those statues, and often the dictator that had them built, ending up getting toppled at some future point. Megatron usually is not superstitious, but this connection has led him to one of the rare exceptions. He believes it is bad luck for a dictator to erect statues of himself, and therefore, avoids doing it. Instead, he sticks to putting his image on the giant billboard-style ads for Megatron Energon and Megatron Metals that are all over the rest of Planet Cybertron.

The President's official residence is the Maison d'Été. It was built in 1835 and sits within a 23 hectare park in the capital city just south of the main business district. It is fairly modest in size and construction, making use of local building materials and has enough room for a president and their family to reside in comfort.

The Prime Minister has no official residence.
