[Submitted] Commend We Are Not the NSA

Postby The Rouge Christmas State » Sun Oct 23, 2016 8:55 pm

The Security Council,

Aware that We Are Not the NSA has been and is a high ranking member of various raiding organizations and that they have been a participant in many notable raids,

Arguing that the actions of a nation are not black and white, and that the World Assembly should look past these actions and focus on the achievement, accolades, and authorship of this nation,

Impressed that We Are Not the NSA is a highly decorated officer, and has been a vital member of many prominent raiding regions including DEN and HYDRA Command, and has been a key reason for their rapid growth and success,

Noting that after the occupation of the raided region ends, We Are Not the NSA helps the natives restore their region to its original state,

Further Noting that We Are Not the NSA is an active member of the Security Council forum, and has helped many nations draft and fix their World Assembly proposals, to help foster new authors in the World Assembly,

Recognizing that We Are Not the NSA is the nation in charge of Nohbdy, and that they have passed several Security Council Resolutions, including:
  • Security Council Resolution #191 Repeal "Condemn DEN"
  • Security Council Resolution #204 Repeal "Liberate The Place That Has No Big Banks"
  • Security Council Resolution #206 Repeal "Condemn DEN"

Believing We Are Not the NSA is an exemplary nation for others and they embody the characteristics of nations that they have helped authors Commend,

Hereby Commends We Are Not the NSA

Support the proposal here: https://www.nationstates.net/page=UN_vi ... 1477670592

Edit 1: Changed number for the second resolution from 201 to 204
Edit 2: Grammar Fixes and Capitalization Fixes
Edit 3: Changed the NSA to full name, and Capitalized HYDRA
Edit 4: Various edits of capitalization, and including more detail
Edit 5: Removed first clause and changed the SC clause to include the mention of Nohbdy and and changed it to Recognizing..
Comments, and suggestions are more than welcome. :)

Full support. NSA is a classy raider and a good author who I've had the privilege of working with.
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.
Author of GA #371 and SC #208, #214, #226, #227, #230, #232
Co-Author of SC #204

Typo fix: the Big Banks repeal was #204, not #201. #201 was the original.

A few grammar mistakes in the beginning. Missing words are underlined:

Also, "Are" and "Not" are capitalized in the nation's name, We Are Not the NSA. That should be fixed as well.

The rouge Christmas state wrote:Impressed that the NSA We Are Not the NSA is a highly decorated officer, and has been a vital member of many prominent raiding regions including Den DEN and Hydra HYDRA Command, and has been a key reason for their rapid growth and success,

"the NSA" should be corrected to "We Are Not the NSA". DEN should be capitalized, and Hydra should be corrected to HYDRA Command.

The rouge Christmas state wrote:Noting that after the occupation of the raided region ends, the NSA We Are Not the NSA helps the natives restore their region back to how it was,to its original state,

Change of NSA's name, "to its original state" makes more sense than "back to how it was"

The rouge Christmas state wrote:Further Noting that the NSA is an active member of the World Assembly forum, and has helped many nations draft and fix their World Assembly proposals, to help foster new authors in the World Assembly,

the NSA --> We Are Not the NSA

Other than those small suggestions, I fully support this.

Full support for this RCS. NSA is a very active member of the SC and is always helping authors who draft here. I agree with Kaboom, NSA is a gent amongst raiders.

Can't see anything that strikes me as possibly illegal - R4's a bugger as you know. Will have a reread later and let you know if I see anything that could need changing.

Full support.

Also, there are a few things that weren't mentioned that may be worth it :
-NSA has advocated anti-fascist policies on numerous occasions. He advocated for Hydra to join the Coalition Against the Ideology of Nazism, and at some point was awarded the Red Fleet Wound Stripe for serving in the invasion of The Greater German Reich.
-He authored the ‘Dear Natives’ dispatch, which explains how to recover from a raid, provides tools for fixing a region, and explains the best ways to protect the region in the future: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=392400
-He has a guide on Security Council terminology: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=643092
-There’s also Nohbdy Knows, that gameplay newspaper thingy. He hasn’t made a new one in a while, but it seemed pretty popular at the time.

I think it'd be better if we left politics out of this draft.

Against.

I don't think the arguments provided here warrant NSA for commendation. Being active and helpful in the SC's forum by itself doesn't pass me as commendation-worthy.

I think there are more arguments for the condemnation of NSA. Just look at his selfie: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=375945

Recognizing that the nation, We Are Not the NSA, is the nation in charge of Nohbdy,

What's the significance regarding Nohbdy?

Aware that We Are Not the NSA has been and is a high ranking member of various raiding organizations and that they have been a participant in many notable raids,

Arguing that the actions of a nation are not black and white, and that the World Assembly should look past these actions and focus on the achievement, accolades, and authorship of this nation,

Regarding achievement, accolades, and authorship, the specific achievements he has accomplished are only being an officer of raider militaries and authoring resolutions.

Noting that after the occupation of the raided region ends, We Are Not the NSA helps the natives restore their region to its original state,

Let's not paint him as a psuedo-defender.

I think there's one important commendable accomplishment that NSA achieved that has yet to be highlighted in this proposal.; his apparent will to disrupt raider unity. Now that is worthy. 8)

I would have to say that is far from commendable. Tagging a region and then giving instructions on how to clean it up is not being helpful.
Telling nations to calm down in big red text is not being helpful. I would strongly suggest a reword / rewrite of the dispatch that is considerate and empathic to Natives just feelings of annoyance. The dispatch does have some helpful links within it but the tone is condescending.

NSA is indeed very helpful to authors in SC and put's quite a lot of effort in helping others achieve a polished and finished resolution.

Thank you both for your comments, the importance of the nation of Nohbdy is that it is the WA nation of We Are Not the NSA and is the author of the three mentioned SC Resolutions.

[Draft] Commend We Are Not the NSA

Postby The Animal World » Thu Oct 27, 2016 11:21 am

SC forum noob, so take it for what it's worth - I think you should move the Nohbdy part down to either right above or with the SC resolutions that he's passed and note that that's his WA nation, otherwise it just seems like a non sequitur.
