The Second Hawaiian Civil War

After the beginning of the Second Civil War (sorry for bad grammar in this) the war had largely fallen into a stalemate. The naval invasion of Oahu from the south was beaten back, and the fleet attempting to commandeer Pearl Harbor had been forced to retreat to Kauai, where the former cabinet stayed.

Shortly after that failure, in October 2015, former Emperor of the Fascist Empire of Hawaii Hubert Vurton re-proclaimed the fallen nationstate in the islands of Molokai, Kahoolawe and Lanai. The Marxist Party for Hawaiian Equality, run by Chairman K'ami Nupur'ita has taken a more pro-democracy turn propogated by native Hawaiians and descendants of slaves joining the party. It is know considered social democratic, but K'ami Nupur'ita won't give up his claim as Chairman. The party has 67% support amongst Hawaiian residents overall, while the CSH holds 24% and the FEH 8%

Breaking news reports coming in from Kauai say that a massive attack from CSH forces is about to take place; the few submarines and launchpads in Kauai have been primed with cruise missiles, ready to strike. FEH reconnaissance reports that about 30,000 soldiers are on the ready. The region waits for a development.

As expected, a major assault from the Confederates has begun. Pearl Harbor has been struck by multiple cruise missiles, destroying many MRH ships and planes. A further barrage of submarines has risen and are attacking inter-island shipping. The Confederates are launching a large bombing assault now on the MRH cities of Haleiwa, Hilo, Kiholo Bay, Kahakuloa and Honolulu, as well as the FEH towns of Kaunakakai and Hulopoe.

2:30 PM

With all-out war reinstated, the Marxist Republic has launched their counteroffensive, aimed to quickly topple the Fascist Empire's small islands. A three-pronged assault onto the islands of Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe has begun, while the remaining air force is engaged over Oahu. Naval artillery is sinking many landing ships, and is convincing the landing forces from the CSH to turn back.

3:10 PM

The island of Kahoolawe, with no permanent residence and only a small military installation, has fallen to a few MRH mariners. The island of Lanai has also been occupied by a slightly larger number of MRH ground troops, going against a few poorly-armed FEH militiamen. A naval invasion has disrupted daily life in the small FEH capital of Kaunakakai, and Emperor Vurton has fled the area into the Kamakou Volcano. Towns on Kaunakai are being bombarded from Maui.

The superior firepower of the MRH has driven back the remaining CSH fleet and airforce, although not without heavy damage. Landing craft on Oahu are being geared up for an invasion Kauai, although it is unknown how this will occur with such heavy mobilization.

Swusia will remain neutral during the civil war however Queen Lydia will send a supply ship full of food, water, and medicine that will help the citizens of Hawaii that are affected by the civil war. The supply ship will be guarded by four submarines.

The MRH accepts Swusian help. It will he distributed if possible on all islands across their control.

The Marxist troops advanced deep into the Molokai interior, and liberated the Kalaupapa Peninsula immediately. During the first true ground battle, the Battle of Kaunakakai, MRH soldiers first grounded the FEH by taking Molokai Airport, and then surrounding the town of Kaunakakai, where the bulk of FEH troops were. With artillery, airstrikes, and firepower, the FEH was basically rendered useless and defeated. 458 of the 600 FEH soldiers were killed. Emperor Vurton has called the surviving 142 soldiers elsewhere on the island back to his new base in Kamajou Volcano.

In the Kauai Front, the Marxist government has set up administration in the unoccupied CSH territories east of the Islands, them being the Marshalls, Guam, Wake, Samoa, Northern Marianas, and all other IRL US territories. This shrinks CSH occupation to the Kauai region.

The Marxist Republic of Hawaii has won a resounding victory against the remaining FEH soldiers hiding out in the mountains of Molokai. The Kamajou Volcano was surrounded and after an intense bombing campaign against Emperor Vurton, he was reportedly killed in camp. The surviving 38 FEH forces surrendered, leaving only the Confederate States and the Marxist Republic left.

The head general of the MRH, Senator Akamai Alana, is said to be preparing a major assault on the Confederate States. Many MRH ships and planes are destroyed, and Pearl Harbor is quite damaged, so getting to Oahu may be a challenge.

Senator Alana has seized control of Hawaii and the government of the MRH, with popular support. Chairman K'ami Nupur'ita has been removed by the more democratic senator, who will be taking up the reins of Chairman. The transition will take awhile, especially with the renaming to the Polynesian Federation.
