Feminism and your nation's ideology

Postby La Cosa Fedora » Fri Oct 21, 2016 6:21 pm

How does your nation's ideology relate to feminism?

La Cosa Fedora is opposed to feminism, which means that the League of the Six Free Peoples, although theoretically is perfectly habitable terrain for all kinds of social movements, in fact has very limited feminist movements which are all puppets of La Cosa Fedora.

We consider ourselves to be a "post-feminist" society. The men's rights movement is one of the biggest legitimate social movements, being supported by La Cosa Fedora at the highest levels, even all the way up in our /pol/itburo. #GamerGate is still our top ranking hashtag. Many Gentlesirs of Honor consider themselves to be Men Going Their Own Way.

We support freedom for all citizens, regardless of sex. It seems archaic, ignorant, and self-defeating to oppress a person on the basis of a characteristic that is beyond his or her control.

The idea of being "post-feminist" is interesting. It does not seem to us that society would naturally progress from patriarchy to near-equality then fall back into patriarchy again. How does that work out for your nation, La Cosa Fedora?

In the Alliance we have more traditional beliefs. It seems improper for a woman to hold certain jobs (but they are not banned from them) and they are looked at as the "gentler sex". Yet woman are not oppressed by any means.

Simple, we deny that we are a patriarchy. We believe ourselves to be true equality, and feminists are just as bad as traditional conservatives, but from the other side.

Our nation has no need for feminism, if you speak of the 3rd wave feminism of today, then it is an absolute cancer, and disgusting, if you speak of the early feminist movements, then, we repeat no.

The glorious nation of Sobeiska has equal opportunity, employers may discriminate because it is their right in our glorious Capitalist Bordello, however women are fully equal to men, in the eyes of government, and in all but the most conservative in our nation.

The status of Ru is a subject of much debate amongst feminists and other commentators in Ru, but to be honest we are probably closest to a traditional patriarchy. Though we are far less patriarchal then we were in our feudal past, old societal traditions and attitudes tend to linger.

legally and constitutionally, however, there is no discrimination between genders.

Nordernians reject feminism and the "men's rights" movement as ideologies that needlessly divide people. Our strong tradition of democracy has spared us from the extreme egalitarianism that has taken over many other nations, which is an ideology that destroys the happiness of both men and women. We simply have never had a need for it since we've always included women in the process of governing and since we recognize that the 2 genders are inherently different in both aptitude and aspiration.

We reject the idea that either gender is superior to the other as we recognize the importance of both genders and their interdependence upon one another.

Feminism is still a constant struggle, which was highlighted in the 2016 Summer Riots. However, there are plenty of opportunities in BnL, and any seat in the Board of Directors, the Legislative government, etc. is open to anyone regardless of sexual orientation, which is why feminism organisations are being denied of legitimacy by the Board.

How does your nation's ideology relate to feminism?

Hawdhanian ideology (Salibist Libertarianism) opposes feminism as a force that aims to divide society amongst other components of the social justice movement. As a result it is considered an enemy of Liberty, though not so much as communism or fascism. The same goes for 'men's rights'. Hawdhanah's authoritarian political atmosphere has led to these movements being practically unheard of, in addition to this traditional culture of Hawdhanians look down upon such family-disintegrating ideas, leading to a non-existent supportership in Hawdhanah.

Perhaps we misunderstand your position due to difference in definitions. The feminism movement, as we understand it, is the belief that women should have equal rights as men. Some extreme feminists believe women should have more rights than men, reversing the oppression of patriarchal society. Do you equate "feminism" with this extremism?

We have had full gender equality since the 1940s; we used to laugh about the time it took the Western nations to catch up.
The triumvirate ruling from 1963 to 1972 consisted of two men and one woman - Ichiko Kagawa has been the only woman at the top of our nation so far, which, however, does not exclude that the Party would decide to establish a female leader again someday, and the previous decisions were not based on gender. There has never been a need for feminism, and the modern 3rd wave feminism is widely frowned upon.

Mandatory sexism. Of course women and men are inherently dissimilar, though the fact that this justified men to unfairly dominate women in politics, religion, and society is just an interesting coincidence, we swear.

On one hand women can do any job, but on the other hand a woman is only protected from being sacked for getting pregnant if it was either a rape, or her contract protects her from this. The military, government, and some companies have equal pay but not all places of employment do. Large scale misogyny is rare, but there are pockets of it in some places.

Our nation, despite Islamic roots, is viewed as old-style matriarchal, although both genders have different roles. Generally, mares are seen as the bookkeepers, foal raisers, and household managers, while stallions are believed to be the real breadwinners who make the actual money needed to support the family. Nowadays, a more egalitarian approach has been accepted in urban areas of the country, and equality regardless of sex or gender is enshrined in the Constitution.

Since mares are still perceived as the dominant sex, feminists are usually hosts to much eyerolling and sighing, as they are seen as fundamentally divorced from reality to think that mares are being particularly oppressed or passed up for certain jobs, especially given our biology, which puts mares on equal footing with stallions in terms of physique, among other things.

In addition, the MRA movement is likewise looked down upon and hated, as it is seen as being foalish whining rather than having any legitimate complaints. They usually shut up after they get their plots handed to them by a mare drill sergeant while serving their time in the Armed Forces.

Recently, a militia of ultra-feminist radicals has conducted a series of campaigns and terrorist acts and gained some positive reception, but they're having trouble pursuing their agenda due to a lack of enthusiasm, high libido, and a sense of sexual liberation amongst the populace.
