For day-to-day informal activities, a black gown is worn over a suit. For commoners, this is short and only covers the jacket and half the sleeves. For gentleman-commoners, it is the same size but trimmed with lace and embroidery. Exhibitioners wear a longer gown and Scholars a full-length gown. A mortarboad is also worn.
Suffuscus, Latin for 'darkish', similar to the Oxford and Cambridge 'sub fusc', is the formal academic dress of a university. It consists of gown, cap and a form of white tie. Do schools have uniforms? All primary schools do, some high schools do as well.
If so, what is a typical school uniform?
Primary schools: white unisex formal shirts, black skirts or trousers, and jumpers with school's symbolism and colour patterns.
High schools: white unisex formal shirts, black skirts or trousers, and blazers with school's symbolism and colour patterns.
Some schools don't provide blazers/jumpers so you're free to wear anything else instead of them. While black formal shoes are preferred, you are allowed to wear any sort of shoes, including high heels or studded military boots.

Do schools have uniforms? In the People's Republic of Zhouran, all schools (public and private) require school uniforms for both identification and formal appearance.

If so, what is a typical school uniform? In Zhouran, there are two types of school uniforms - normal school uniform and ceremonial school uniform
Following the establishment of the modern Zhouranese education system in early 1861, Zhouranese schools from elementary, lower-secondary and higher-secondary education use Western-style school uniforms for students. However, a standardized uniform design was not created until somewhere in late 1884.

While the uniforms vary widely by individual school, a typical Zhouranese school uniform generally consists of a pleated plaid skirt, closed low-cut shoes or saddle shoes, a blouse or collared white shirt with sleeves, a tie, a sweater and outerwear for the winter season, for girls; for boys, a long-sleeved collared white shirt, a tie, dress trousers, and outerwear for the winter season. Both sexes usually wear a blazer when required by regulations or weather.

Following the establishment of the modern Zhouranese education system in early 1861, Zhouranese schools from lower-secondary and higher-secondary education use military-style ceremonial school uniforms, which were created somewhere in early 1911, for special occasions.

While the uniforms vary slightly by individual school, the Zhouranese ceremonial school uniforms are inspired by Zhouranese-style military uniforms and Zhouranese Military Field Duty Attire (a type of Zhouranese military attire created in early 1907). The uniform generally consists of a Military Shirt-Coat (a Zhouranese military coat created in early 1861), dress trousers, military field duty boots (military boots from the Military Field Duty Attire that rises to mid-calf or higher with no laces and has a thick sole with hobnails and metal heels), a Ceremonial Uniform Rope (a Zhouranese ornamental braided cord that was created in early 1861, features an ornamental aiguillette tip, uses a knot or loop arrangement and is hung from the shoulder), and a Ceremonial Military Belt (a type of Zhouranese cloth belt of gold/silver braid created in early 1861 that features a plate-style buckle).

While headwear varies by each school, Zhouranese ceremonial school uniforms generally use Military Field Duty Hats (a Zhouranese wide-brimmed felt hat created in late 1904 that is often worn, although not always, with a chinstrap, and has the left side of the brim turned up or pinned to the side of the crown) with Military Ear Caps (a Zhouranese short cylinder-shaped fur hat created in early 1859) being used for colder seasons.

Certainly not. Children have rights, just like anybody else. Any school that tried to impose a dress code on students would be sued back to the Stone Age.

Primary and middle school children usually have some variation between sailor uniforms and shirts. Girls may wear skirts in some primary schools, but otherwise they are unisex for primary school. In secondary school, girls wear knee-length skirts and dress shirt or sailor shirt. In senior secondary school (years 10 to 12) boys adopt a quasi-military uniform that isn't as controversial as it should be, and girls may have a blazer added to their shirts.

Then, for university, we have this.

But it's only worn for major academic ceremonies and occasions.

Do schools have uniforms? The majority of public and private schools require a uniform.
If so, what is a typical school uniform? Dress shoes, white or black socks, and a scarf (girls, futanari, shemales) or tie (boys) with the school's colors and emblem on it. The students are not permitted to wear any other garments, even revealing ones, and must otherwise remain fully nude. Jewelry, watches, make-up and other accessories are generally accepted. Head coverings may not be worn in classrooms.

Do schools have uniforms?
Some do. All public schools don't but some private schools and academies do.

If so, what is a typical school uniform?
Depends. Usually there's a summer and winter uniform with temperature appropriate clothing. A typical boy's summer uniform might have shorts, a shirt, sandals or thin socks. A typical girl's summer uniform would be a blouse, skirt and thin socks or sandals, with both students wearing appropriate shoes. Winter uniforms include jerseys for both girls and boys and boys also have the option of trousers. All schools with uniforms have a very loose winter clothing policy which means the student's own clothing such as snow boots, beanies, scarves, jackets etc. are allowed to be worn during winter over the top of their uniform.

'Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.' (II Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV)

Do schools have uniforms? Yes
If so, what is a typical school uniform?
There isn't necessarily a typical design. The standard base is a formal button-up t-shirt and pants or skirt of no particular color. Academies are at liberty to modify and add to this base within reason as they see fit. Many are very open and allow the student body at some levels to democratically select a uniform design from a professional set, or have the student government do so. Others which are considered more conservative or traditional institutions have a design that has been maintained for decades which is never up to the student body.

Do schools have uniforms?
Yes, uniforms are required by law in all schools up to and including secondary. Post-secondary education doesn't require uniforms legally, although many colleges and universities still require uniforms regardless.

If so, what is a typical school uniform?
Specific designs vary from school to school. However, primary school uniforms consist of a white collared shirt with the emblem of the school on them and shorts, pants, or a skirt. Intermediate school uniforms consist of a sailor-fuku for females and a white collared shirt with a blazer with a school emblem and shorts or pants for males. Secondary school uniforms consist of a white collared shirt with a tie and a blazer with a school emblem and shorts, pants, or a skirt.

Do schools have uniforms? Why yes! But they're not really mandatory.
If so, what is a typical school uniform? It depends on what state since each of them have their own climate. (Strange, we know) It also depends on district, though it's only limited to colours and patterns. Religion also plays a part to in designing the uniform for students to follow their faith's teachings. There are stereotypical 'boy' and 'girl' uniforms but any gender can wear any of them.
