Olithlum, the city of Luminous
The city of Luminous was the industrial jewel of Olithlum, founded on the south eastern coasts around the industrial revolution by manufacturers seeking to cut costs by building their factories as close to the Olithlumi mountains as possible. Now, it was the largest city in the country, urban sprawl stretched out along the coast and against the towering mountains. Earthquakes, storms, and the civil strife cities periodically saw did little to reduce the growth of 'The Electric Diamond of Olithlum.'
It was also, in an Olithlumi's personal opinion, the best place to stage an international duel. Given that Luminous was founded on an economy of devouring the ores of Olithlum's mountains and exporting industrial goods abroad, the city had a large sea port and air port, making travel to it by either means possible in a somewhat timely fashion. Combine this with the Olithlumi's cultural acceptance of honourable bloodletting and the city was a decent spot for two folks from different countries to come and beat the stuffings out of each other.
Edmugh Wyard never really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city like he used to, but coming here to oversee a duel between two irked individuals over a social network felt fitting enough. He had selected the area of the duel to be the former location of the town square, the city's centre of municipal government when it was young, now it was more of a slice of 1890s Olithlum with its streets of red brick and buildings of grandiloquent old architecture. The silvery metal fountain at the centre of the circular pattern of varying shades of red brick tied the whole thing together in Edmugh's opinion.
It was not hard to arrange this meeting, Luminous was one of the few places that still voted in favour of Edmugh when he was finally voted out of the office of Grandmaster of the Chivalrous Republic. So, the people of the city were very willing to temporarily give a small space of the old square to an old favourite of Olithlum's public servants, especially for such an occasion as an honour duel. After a token fee was paid to the municipal government, of course, but opening his wallet a bit was not the hard part for Edmugh. The hard part was waiting for his invited duellists to show up, although that may have been his fault for botching the schedule more than once. Edmugh sighed, his blunder to make his pain to endure, as he sat in an unfolded chair he brought along, checking his watch for the twelfth time.
"Should buy them a coffee or something for their patience when this is all over... Well, assuming both of them are still breathing, that is." Edmugh muttered to himself.
