Introduction

Greetings, people of the INWU. You just joined the regional roleplay, and don't know what to do? Don't worry, this thread is here to save you. This IC thread can be used to write anything you want in character. Announcements, roleplaying, news, events. Everything that happens in your nation, and the rest of the world should know, comes here. Have fun!

Rules

• Godmodding is strictly forbidden, in all its aspects and instances.
• Realism must be maintained, in regards to all aspects of roleplaying.
• Metagaming is strictly forbidden.
• ICly, characters can act however they want, but a basic etiquette will be kept between the roleplayers.
• To maintain a decent level of RP quality a post must contain at least 2 paragraphs.
• Expansion will be allowed on a case by case basis.
• All RP Scenarios that involve 2+ parties must be thoroughly discussed and agreed upon by said parties. You can ask the RPC/MoRP for assistance out if you need it.
• In-Character RP posts will contain a passage describing the situation(A simple who, what, when, where, etc will suffice.) This is to help prevent confusion within our multi-genre RP thread.
• Wars between two nations can't happen unless both nations agree. However, actions justifying a war declaration will not be protected.
• The use of WMDs (Mainly nuclear weapons.) within RP is allowed up to their actual deployment. North Korea is allowed, Hiroshima is not.
• The MoRP and the members of the RPC will act as the OP, respectively the CO-OP's of the roleplay, with full power to apply these rules and punishments for breaking them.
• 3 Strike Rule: One breach of these rules will result in a warning, twice will result in an RP cool-down period(Decided by the RPC/MoRP.), thrice will result in a permanent RP ban.
• As moderators, the MoRP, the members of the RPC, and their decisions must be treated with respect by the other players.
• Any questions pertaining to these rules must be addressed to the RPC/MoRP through TG.

Matthias Kadar, representative of the 5th level of cellular democracy in Savalen, today announced that Savalen would be looking to invest majorly in its navy, the first time since 1990. This comes as Savalen moves up in the world as a power of peace and prosperity.

Whilst many have condemned the move, Kadar explicitly stated in his statement that "The ships are purely for defence of our sovereignty. They will not be involved in any offensive." Obviously, everybody has a slightly differing opinion on the subject, but most people agree that this is a good compromise in the circumstances.

There are a handful of critics who either argue that there should be no military or that Savalen should stop playing the star student on the world stage and start projecting more power. The second was vehemently rejected by the Foreign Minister, Mikhalkov, and Minister for Trade, da Silva, as both issued statements showing intent of continuing the policy of openess and kindness to the rest of the world. Mikhalkov mentioned "We have shown that we can get what we want and what we need through peaceful conversation. Why would we change our tact so drastically?" Da Silva echoed this as he mentioned that Savalen is one of the largest traders worldwide because it is seen as both stable and open to all nations. "A middle-man. The one that rakes in the money."

However, the more reasonable forseeable problems are who to buy from - it is hard to find a neutral nation that wishes to sell to Savalen. Kadar refused to answer when we asked who he had in mind or if had any deals on the table. Sources suggest that Savalen would be open to buying from more than one country, Senior Representatives arguing that the cost inferred from that would be worth to uphold Savalen's status.

Overall though, this would be the first time that Savalen will invest seriously in military whilst in the Cellular Democracy era.

Calling a vast majority of Kathic schools "outdated", "not fit for today's technology", and "just plain old", Minister of Education Selena Faucheux called on the 15 Regions +Palais FD to assist cities in building new schools. "New schools", the Minister said, "should include the posibility to expand, room for more technology, and more room for students" denoting that several schools in larger cities are very overcrowded, such as the Lycée Barnabé Michaud in inner Auxvasse. "There are several design proposals and base designs for Regions, Cities, and School Districts to work with and get ideas off of. Building new schools, similar to like what Moniteau did in 2009, have proven to be more cost effective and cheaper than trying to expand and continue running current schools." She went on to mention that several school buildings from the 1890's and early 1900's were still in use, and are in a state of slight disrepair.

Prime Minister Mélanie Astevau backed the Minister, stating she felt "It was a step in the right direction" and that "it would help the students of Kathmandue learn, and it would be in a better environment."

This train line was proposed by the Mammoit Republic at October 5th, 2016 to connect The Allied States of Hijjma and Mammo in trade and migration. The line will cut through the unclaimed frontierland. The line costs have not been estimated and the company that has taken the role of constructing the line will make no reveal no further information until the Line begins construction. The company hopes for the train to reach speeds of up too 200-300mph. The results of this line is a step in the right direction to increase trade benefits and relations with Hijjma and Mammo.

Ambassador Borisovich puts up a valiant effort to remain on the podium

A mundane trade talk within the Mallaskan capital of Callista erupted in fury as Mallaskan representative Boris Borisovich was pulled off the podium by his own staff after diverting the course of the talks encircling Mallaskan trade of assorted "Hunting equipment" and "Cooking spices" to an assortment of countries, one of which being Estradia. The history of Mallaska and the otherwise insignificant country of Estradia, seemingly polar-opposite nations, has always been riddled with rivalry. As such, Premier Kovalev opted to not attend the small trade conference for fear of losing his temper as he often has whenever the name "Alpada" is called.

It seems that even this did not stop the Mallaskan-Estradian rivalry from continuing, as Ambassador Borisovich proceeded to serenade the small and unimpressed (Likely due to language barrier preventing proper communication, as no translators would volunteer to translate for Estradians) Estradian delegation with a slew of insults whenever the country was mentioned. The ambassador constantly called the Estradians "Lazy and obsolete" for the purposes of harvesting "Mallaskan Spices".

The ambassador also taunted the Estradians with a bottle of pure Mallaskan water, stating that "This is more water than Estradia will ever have!" then proceeded to flick water at the Estradians proclaiming "It's Alpada!", referring the the Estradian leader's excessive dribble - a Mallaskan stereotype of Alpada.

Possible modifications to Thrace's constitution!

Today in the Thracian Parliament, the leading coalition, in front with the representatives of the National Monarchist Party have proposed an important modification to the Imperial Constitution. The modification in question would be the addition of Article 16, which would specify that the person of the Emperor is inviolable, hereby giving more powers to the monarch of the nation. An important part of the Thracian Constitution, the article was removed after the fall of the fascist regime at the request of the foreign powers, since it gave too many powers to the Emperor. It is well known however that the Thracians have slowly but surely broken most of the agreements which were made after the end of the war, with the modifications brought to the constitution in 1989, 1995, and 2005 adding Articles which had been removed in a similar matter. This has led to a situation in which Thrace is often considered to be an authoritarian nation by foreigners, although most of their claims and accusations are obviously false.

The proposal has been hailed by the other coalition parties, like the National Peasants Party and the Thracian Fascist Party, and has been met with a good response by the opposing National Liberal Party, although an opposition is expected from the Social Democrats. Nevertheless, the proposal seems to be popular among the Thracian people, with surveys showing that a majority of 76% would vote for it in a referendum. The proposal is now debated in the Thracian Senate, and if it will pass, a nationwide referendum will be held for the people to vote, for and against. The question is how will the foreign powers react to yet another Thracian action which breaks the postwar treaties?

President Li Zichin, in response to recent proposals to amend the Thracian Constitution, gave a speech detailing the Greater Eastern Union's position upon the issue today in the Union Senate. Though he generally voiced support for Thrace, he expressed mixed reactions towards the 'absolute monarchization' of Thrace, fearing the violation of international agreements and the fall of democracy and freedom.

"Turbulent times call for actions pursuing stability, and desperate times call for desperate measures," Li Zichin said, during his speech in the Union Senate. "Revisions in a nation's constitution can be an answer to such; bringing power back to the center can be another answer if we look towards stability. To the west, Thrace has followed the very path I talked of: they intend to empower the monarchy once again to respond to turbulent times. They are exercising their right to pursue stability - as one of its closest allies, the Government of Tiandao gives support to such actions towards stability.

"Nevertheless, it remains possible that such 'absolute monarchization' may threaten the very existence of post-World War 2 treaties: the international community is built upon it. It is not ours alone but the duty of every nation to abide by such agreements, upon which the peace of the world stands today. As President of the Greater Eastern Union, I trust the Thracian Monarchy that it will be sensible enough to prevent history from repeating itself - amid such constitutional change, I believe that the regime will not fall at its history again."

Other than the Thracian situation, the President also addressed the issues of the Greater Eastern Union Defense Forces, welfare reforms and proposed revisions of the tax system during his speech today.

Adler Trochev, the savior of Grothbord in the Second World War has died at the age of 98.
His guerrilla efforts against the occupying Tracian forces in the early 1940's were immense, him and his group of partisans carried out a multitude of raids and sabotages against the enemy allowed Grothbord to come back from the brink of destruction.

He is also known as the Liberator of Grothbord, but many have questioned the figure due to the extremes he went to, killing over 350 men personally and torturing countless innocent civilians under the suspicion of helping the occupying force.
But most of those who had opposed him are for some reason have a very short life expectancy.

The funeral will take place on October 20th. Revter Trochev, his son, has invited all the world leaders to attend to this great mans funeral.
Before the ceremony a military parade will also be held. Nations are welcome to volunteer forces to participate.

Following the news of Adler Trochev's death in Grothbord, Premier Viktor Kovalev of Mallaska has announced plans to attend the funeral and is to depart on the morning of October 18th, along with a detachment of the Mallaskan Republican Army to attend the mourning parade. However, this announcement has stirred up slight controversy in Mallaska as people have few other things to complain about aside from Estradians and the cold. Protesters in Callista have stated that Adler Trochev was nothing but a cold-blooded killer and not to be celebrated as a legitimate state hero. However, these few protesters soon returned home after the afternoon snow started along with riot police breaking numerous kneecaps.

"Adler Trochev is a liberator of his people and a symbol of resilience against foreign occupation to be celebrated. Allegations of torture are overblown and in bad taste." Stated in an address by Premier Kovalev.

All are set to leave the afternoon on the 18ty October.

In other news, defensive buildup upon the Topsailian border has begun. Defensive positions not used since the Uyer Rebellion are being refitted, and rebuilt as new artillery pieces are towed into place. The extensive construction of underground tunnel facilities are running parallel with entrenchment efforts above ground. In addition to infantry positions, two air bases have recently been approved for construction. One in the mountainous Volcanic Enclave region (7,456 ft), named Sabre Base, which is designed as a interception base, and one near the coast capable of fitting larger aircraft.

Ambassador Feng Jian, the Tianese Ambassador to Grothbord, announced plans to attend the funeral of the recently-deceased Adler Trochev in an official announcement today. According to such plan, Ambassador Feng, along with nine Embassy Guards of the Tianese Embassy in Grothbord, will be participating in the funeral of Adler Trochev at Stadt der Gotter in October 20th. Such decision was made from the Tianese Government after considerable debate, as such issue received great resistance from Tianese media, the Thracian diaspora in Tiandao and numerous citizens around the nation, claiming Adler Trochev to be bloodthirsty killer and foe of Thrace, one of the Union's key allies.

"Although the views regarding the life and accomplishments of Adler Trochev is a great matter of debate, his death remains to be worth mourning," said Ambassador Feng, during the announcement in the Tianese Embassy in Grothbord. "Regardless of side, he was a respectable military leader within his own state, and contributed to what is Grothbord today. Apart from what side of the war he had participated in, he remains a figure worth the respect."

It is said that such response from Ambassador Feng was influenced by his previous military career in the Greater Eastern Union Navy from 1988-1995.

Thrace celebrates the death of Adler Trochev!

Unofficially, the day in which the news of the death of Adler Trochev were received was a national day of celebration. Thracian nationalists were on the streets celebrating the death of one of Thrace's oldest enemies. This comes into the context of the recent policies of the Thracian Government, which has fueled the nationalist and revanchist elements and groups all across the nation. The people celebrated the death of a mass murderer.

The official response from the Imperial Government merely stated that, in the virtue of the Imperial Decreee 654/1941, Adler Trochev was and is considered to be an enemy of the Empire of Thrace, wanted for terrorism, partisan activities, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. The Thracian State refuses to mourn his loss or take any part in his funeral. The Thracian Embassy in Grothbord will continue under normal program, and no mourning program will be held. The Thracian state will boycott the funerals of Adler Trochev, and will strongly condemn any nation taking part in it. As Alexander Velsagio, the Thracian Great Logothete declared:
"Although the role of Adler Trochev as a Grothbordian hero can not be denied, he is guilty of crimes against humanity. Thrace has purged and punished its fascist criminals. When will the other nations stop worshiping murderers and criminals just because they opposed the fascists? "

The Thracian Fascist Party and other nationalist organizations have declared multiple celebration marches to be held in the Thracian cities and among the Thracian community in Grothbord.

William Scantlebury (International) – Four representatives from the Foreign Affairs Committee and the High Commissar for Foreign Relations and Trade from the Union of Letwinist States (ULS) have confirmed their plans to visit Grothbord for the funeral of war veteran and partisan Adler Trochev on Thursday.

High Commissar Hiflanjie Lukit Mihalev expressed his sorrow in a speech earlier, saying that “men such as Mr Trochev saved Grothbord and the Letwinist States from utter destruction during the second world war. In our case, comrade Letwin gave his life to save his people and we shall honour the man who did the same for Grothbord.”
Condolences to the people and administration of Grothbord were also offered by representatives to the All-Union People's Congress. “Adler Trochev was a hero and ought to be celebrated and commended for his daring actions during the war by all” said a statement submitted by the Letwinist Alliance.

The decision was criticised by the Socialist Front of the ULS and the LETWINTERN, which condemned once more the brutal means used to achieve the liberation of Grothbord. Mr Hiflanjie declared the end a glorious one despite possible crimes committed, as circumstances were posing a “hardship for the people of Grothbord, a hardship fought against by Trochev”.

Experts fear a dangerous deterioration of relations between the Union of Letwinist States and the Empire of Thracia, the suspicious timing of celebrations in Thracia being seen as the second provocation in the span of the last week. The debate in the Empire about increasing the monarchs power had not led to the expected outcry from the council republic but this new development may well prove to be problematic in the eyes of many Letwinist hard-liners. The High Commissar condemned the celebrations in Thracia as “an insult to all who suffered under imperialist atrocities committed by the Empire throughout history.”

Topsailian President Willem van Dijk announced yesterday that the Topsailian military would be upping defenses along the border with Minsmar. This announcement comes several days after Minsmar announced that it was increasing its military numbers along the border with Topsail. Van Dijk assured people that the upping of forces along the Minsmarian border was purely defensive in nature, but he expressed concern about whether or not the Minsmarian actions were defensive. "Minsmar is a dangerous rogue nation and it cannot be trusted. These latest acts of aggression by Minsmar have warranted us moving more forces to the border," said President van Dijk in the press conference. There have also been rumors about the Topsailian navy holding exercises off of Minsmar's exclave, however these have not yet been confirmed nor denied by any official source in the military or the government.

After a few hours of negotiations with the Topsailian President, Trochev and him have come to the agreement to hold joint naval drills amidst the Minsmar buildup on the border. Grothbordian submarines and F-125 destroyers are to participate in the drills alongside with contingents of the Topsailian navy.

Trochev after the discussions had this to say.
"I am glad that our Topsailian ally is taking action to protect itself from a rogue nation of day dreaming pirates. They must remember that Grothbord will always be there for our allies and we will never back down in our allies time of need.

The only aircraft carrier in Minsmar's fleet has recently been spotted coming into close proximity to the Topsail-Grothbord naval drills. There were no plains on the deck, and instead tables covered in white lenins, and well dressed aritstocrats being served my marines in formal garb. Near the command tower there are piles upon piles of the nicest food available to the nation of Minsmar. The tower hails the ships upon the horizon and invites all people listening to dinner on deck. Dinner will be at the full expense of the nation of Minsmar, and if there is not space enough, then food will be delivered to any ship anchored near the carrier.

In other news, the replacement of Minsmar old MBT, the T-54, has begun in recent days with the production of Leopard 2s, and the integration of already purchased AVT-24 'Ocelot' into the armored service. Although this is expected to take many months, even upwards of a year, divisions on the Topsailian front are recieving materials first.

An organized military force in Nanming, led by General Shen Akulai of the Republic of Nanming Army, revolted against the government at Taizhou, resulting in the occupation of numerous zones in the Taizhou Metropolitan Area and considerable parts of the country in a series of military attacks across the nation. Members of the Nanming Cabinet, along with a majority of the nation's remaining military command, have retreated south to Jinmen, the second-largest city in the country.

The first movements of the coup d'etat forces, according to Nanming media, were observed around 22:00 yesterday, where tanks and helicopters were seen moving through the outskirts of Taizhou. Military operations were said to have commenced around 23:30, when early battles between the police force and coup d'etat forces were observed around Taizhou International Airport and major points in the city. After midnight, the coup d'etat forces quickly gained ground throughout the city, while more attacks were reported throughout major military bases in the northeastern part of the nation. As of now, the coup d'etat forces have secured chemical weapons and missile launchers in northern Nanming, while the Government has gained access to the nuclear reprocessing plant in Xin Dadao, where the existence of nuclear weapons have been suspected in recent years.

Today in 07:00, General Shen Akulai, following the capture of much of Taizhou by coup d'etat forces, announced through national media that the coup d'etat was "a move mandated by fate to correct the Republic of Nanming from falling into the hands of fascism: the current Prime Minister and his Cabinet have brought a disgrace to what the Republic stands for, and it is time for the Armed Forces to come and correct its mistakes. We will bring back the right and the just; we will bring freedom and equality once again."

Meanwhile, an hour later, Prime Minister Cao Jin-Mei made an announcement from Jinmen, claiming that such "acts of treason will be brought to justice", and that the coup d'etat was a "vile attempt to break down order from the Republic". In addition to the announcement, the Prime Minister also decreed that the Republic's Armed Forces "unite to fight the plague of the Republic", while looking towards the international community to "not recognize the coup as the legitimate successor to the Government of Nanming and support the legitimate government that already exists today".

Amid major protests both for and against the coup d'etat across the nation's major cities, and the attention of the Asia-Pacific region focused on the sudden coup in resource-rich Nanming, the Government of the Greater Eastern Union has yet to state its official position towards the coup; however, as of 8 a.m. today, both sides of the coup have demanded recognition as the official Government of Nanming. Movements of Tianese naval vessels have been observed in the East Tiandao Sea, although the Tianese Department of Defense has denied of such.

Representative Nyazik Mergen was visiting a brigade of Black Army soldiers along the border with Raventsvo when the news of the Nanming coup arrived.

Nyazik Mergen, the elected foreign representative of the Free Territory of Gatito, has refrained for supporting or condemning the military in Nanming. After the news of such events reached his ears while he was on an away trip in the country's northern reaches, he immediately left to return to Khudaliar to consult the Territorial Assembly. After emerging three hours later, he released the following statement.

"The events that have transpired in the east are certainly unexpected. None of us saw it coming.

"However, it is my personal belief, as well as the belief of the Assembly, that it is too early on to make any final decision about whether we endorse this new regime. We support all anti-Fascist efforts worldwide, however at the same time we are skeptics. A popular uprising would be one thing, but Nanming has chosen a very dangerous and uncertain path with its military coup.

Nanming Coup: Coup Forces Declare the Federal Republic of Nanming in Taizhou, Amid Nationwide Battles

Following its consolidation over Taizhou and much of northern Nanming, General Shen Akulai, declared the establishment of the Federal Republic of Nanming, the self-proclaimed successor of the Republic of Nanming, in Taizhou today, accompanied by military and political representatives supporting the coup. As of then, 11 of the 26 provinces, along with Taizhou Capital District, had seceded from the Republic to form the Federal Republic of Nanming.

"Today, we have brought ourselves one more step forward into creating a free and equal nation, away from the hands of fascism," proclaimed General Shen Akulai, during his speech of the declaration. "We will continue to uphold the freedom and equality, upon which this nation was built upon and correct the mistakes of such fascists from Nanming. Their religious and political extremism has been a pest to Nanming - it is time that their regime be put to justice!"

At the same day, the remaining Government of the Republic, which has temporarily moved to Jinmen, expressed great disappointment in the declaration of such nation, claiming that the very existence of the United Republic posed "an explicit threat to the very survival of Nanming", and requested that the international community "deny the recognition of such a rogue nation", showing strong dismay against the United Republic itself.

Meanwhile, such declarations of the United Republic were made amid nationwide battles, as coup forces continued offensives over remaining government strongholds throughout the nation. Numerous Republic (aka Government/Loyalist) military bases were bombed with air strikes and cruise missiles, while remaining Loyalist forces in the Capital District were driven out by the dawn of October 22nd. While there had been no signs of chemical weapons being used in Nanming, armored divisions under the United Republic had been observed massing in the southwestern front.
