The Sarian Football Federation and the Tumbran Football Association are pleased to present their bid for the Cup of Harmony 68.
About The Sarian
The Sarian is an archipelago of sixteen Islands in Eastern Esportiva, known for its diverse landscapes and wildlife. Despite a promising start on the sporting scene, The Sarian football team has disappointed as of late - not qualifying for the World Cup in a while.
In bidding for the Cup of Harmony, The Sarian Football Federation are looking to revitalise the game in the isles, after a drop in support in recent years. To achieve this, they are proposing a multi-billion Imperia investment including two new football stadiums - both in disadvantaged areas - and significant improvement in infrastructure.
Previously, The Sarian has played host to a number of sporting events including the Campionato Esportiva XIV - which it hosted on it’s own, the 57th Baptism of Fire, the 17th and the 19th World Lacrosse Championships as well as the Beltane Cup.
About Tumbra
Tumbra is located a stone’s throw away from The Sarian - also in Eastern Esportiva, it is made up of two major islands and many more smaller ones and is known for its fantastic food and being a melting pot of many different cultures. Tumbra started off in the 57th edition of the Baptism of Fire - coincidentally hosted by The Sarian.
Since then, they have attempted to qualify for the World Cup thrice - four after the conclusion of this cycle - and have failed all three times, with their latest effort seeing them get the highest number of draws in said qualifying cycle.
The Tumbran Football Association hopes that this bid will be able to continue the new upsurge of popularity that football enjoys, after a soul-searching decade of the 2010s where hooliganism was rampant and post-match arrests common. The stadiums put forth within the bid are some of the safest, with no standing areas.
Tumbra is new to the hosting scene, only having hosted the Campionato Esportiva XVII on its own.
Format, Schedule and Selection Criteria
Our selection criteria is simple - the best thirty-two RPers from qualifying who didn’t qualify for the World Cup. Whilst judging this, we will be looking at a number of areas - with effort and quality being the most significant.
With thirty-two nations taking part in the Cup of Harmony, we will look to have the cut-off for each matchday roughly twenty-four hours before the World Cup cutoffs. We believe this makes for the most aesthetically pleasing Cup of Harmony, and ensures that the winner gets their moment in the spotlight.
As expected, nations will be split into eight groups of four. Groups A, C, E and G will take place in The Sarian, whilst nations in B, D, F and H will battle it out in Tumbra. The top two qualifiers from each group will go forward into the further rounds.
In the event of a tie, we will be using the following tie-breakers:
- H2H Points
- Goal Difference
- H2H Goal Difference
- Goals Scored
- Drawing lots
Bonuses and Formulae
Being a tournament based on the merit of one’s roleplays, we will be employing a relatively high RP grading scale of 0-5 - which we are disclosing with a belief in transparency. This will be cumulative and generously awarded, with quality being valued above quantity. We will be using NSFS formula, which we believe generates the most realistic - and fairest - results.
