Scripted spectacle of cartoonish conflict airs tonight--also, WWE RAW is on.

Welcome to the 2016 Second Presidential Debate Thread! From 9 pm ET/6 pm PT/1 am GMT until the official debate ends (more or less), we will be closing the usual election thread and opening this debate thread so that we can focus more narrowly on tonight's festivities. Please note that as passions run high during these events, this thread will be heavily moderated. As always, if you feel that a warning or other disciplinary action towards you was unwarranted, you may appeal in Moderation or file a Getting Help Request.

For those of you without access to a television, the debate will be streaming live on YouTube. Thanks to Lady Scylla for suggesting inclusion of a streaming link.

Again, this thread will remain locked until around the time that the debate begins. Please continue with your discussions in your usual threads until then.

And may god have mercy on us all.

They should announce a last-minute change. Debate replaced with Thunderdome.

Oh, and apparently Wired has a stream with live fact checkers! Probably highly needed - Politico says between the two of them it averages out to 50% lies! (60% for Trump, the highest for the politicians they rated; 30% for Clinton, at the lower end).

Do you all think Code Pink will protest at the debate? I think they did that in the Obama-Romney debates at least once.
You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

I said it in the other thread but I'll do the same here - if claims are made regarding taxation or the FAA/airspace system, I will fact them in as close to real time as possible.

If Clinton makes a claim that's significantly niche or crouched, there may be a delay (I doubt The Donald knows enough about either to make significantly niche/crouched claims).
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.
