The Canadian North-West wrote:Albert Winston, having asked for a cup of coffee with a sugar cube, had been continuing working (no reason to stop working when there's nothing to do) when the gunshots had gone off. Understandably shaken, he was thankful that he hadn't had his coffee yet as he probably would've spilled it all over himself. Despite the Germans brushing it off as "just practice," the former general couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. But, having nothing else to go on, he shrugs it off, grabs his coffee from the waitress (and thanks her, of course), packed up the papers he had been writing, and prepared to get into one of the vans, when he realizes... what's with the change of vans? Wouldn't the ones from earlier have worked just as well? He asks one of the German officials:
"Hey, I know that some of us are the leaders of major countries, but even so, what's with the upped level of security?"

Ian Ross talked with the other leaders for a bit, then went back to his room and heard a few shots of gunfire. He just dismissed it as a GDR Military Display, as that was planned to be shown around now. On the way back, a soldier stopped him and said the Party at the Reichstag was ready. Ian said he would be ready soon to be driven there by the convoy of armored cars, and dismissed the soldier. He then continued on to his room, and put on his suit and tie, and then went back down to the lobby to b escorted to the Reichstag.
Later
After being escorted to the Reichstag, Ian Ross was greeted by flashing camera lights and a bright red carpet. It was then that Ian signaled the pilots to start the show, and soon enough colors of blue, red and yellow filled the sky, and the onlooking civilians cheered. Ian answered a few interview questions, and said that he was most excited to go to the USSD summit. He entered the Reichstag, and started to mingle with the other guests and leaders.
