[Arkiasis]

The first name is derived from the "Arkish Kingdom" or "Arkland" inhabited by the "Arkish" people or simple "Arks". They were a confederation of Germanic tribes during Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages, who lived along the River Astwick, River Otford and the Melchet River along the southern coast. This was the first large scale unification in Arkiasis in the early 10th century and the first large Kingdom. Upon the arrival of the Latin script and Christianity in the Middle Ages, the name was latinised to "Arkiasia". The later later eventually evolved into the modern form of "Arkiasis". The other three major Kingdoms during the middle ages, the "Vesper Union", the "Kingdom of Hartel" and the "Donnish Kingdom" eventually unified (usually violently) within the "Kingdom of Arkiasia".

[Ventalia]

The name 'Ventalia' first appeared in texts from the fifth century and originally referred to the pagan lands west of the Immitis mountain range and Aurus river, though today has expanded to cover the modern country's entire territory. Historians and linguists are divided as to whether the name is of Latin or Gallo-Romance origin, as it is unclear which language arrived in the area first.

Though the name was first found in a Gallo-Romance text, most evidence points to Ventalia being of Latin origin and meaning "land of the wind." Indeed, the modern French word for "wind," vent, is itself sourced from the Latin ventus, and the suffix -talia implies Latin origin. In either case, the name is likely a reference to the occasionally strong winds from both the Immitis mountain range and extensive coastline that buffet the area.

The country has always kept this name - it has not fundamentally changed. The precursor to the modern Kingdom of Ventalia - The Commonwealth of Crowns (968 - 1326) - indeed restricted itself through its founding document to what was then considered to be Ventalia in the original narrow definition of the land. The Kingdom has not changed style nor seen an evolution in its etymology since foundation in 1326.

in 1367, when we gained our independence, we worked out a deal with the defeated Lexonians to include their name in the title. the nation was ruled with the King of Carriebean acting also as the Pope of the religion, which was catholic, and a Lexonian Czar, or ceaser, which was an elected position every 12 years, the elections took place in 1379 and 1391 before the dual kings split in a disagreement over which side really ran carriebean, which was the carriebeanians, and not the Lexonians, so the Dual Monarchy ended in 1410 during the rule of King Jacob.

this name was adopted in 1410 by King Jacob, who was a Calvinist, and he also wanted to allow the Catholics a say in things, so he set up the states de protezanti, a small legislative branch of 50 kingly advisors who had messengers run to each village, report their problems while also taking a census of the population every five years. they could vote on bills that impacted the local lords and the peasants, such as the inclusion of the first military draft of peasants in 1413. eventually, with the death of King Jacob, the new King David I got rid of the system the next year, and disbanded the Holy Kingdom all together, replacing it with something else.

set up during the rule of King David I, and ruling through queens Anne and Mary, both of whom were Calvinist and Protestant respectively, this was the first government in which a small population ( 4,000) of amanzonies were freed from enslavement, and some progress was made. they awarded the Nobility land and money to not rebel against the government, queen Anne fixed inflation and married Henri the I, who did not rule for some strange reason, and Queen Mary I built a big church and tore it down two years after it's construction after dying the same year. this government is seen as a major failure in the eyes of many carriebeanian and thernanian historians.

Abbie Normal is named after its leader, Abbie Normal. This is not her real name but a supervillain name she adopted to sound more evil (Abbie Normal's real name is highly classified). It is a play on "abnormal", an adjective commonly used to refer to totalitarian dictators.

The Imperial Dominion of Longweather has been known as such for bulk of the polity's existence. However, for a brief period of time 1,357 years ago (about 12 years), it was known as the Dominion of Longweather. This change was brought upon by the adoption of a more modern, yet imperial, form of government.

Before that, the polity that existed in the location that the Dominion of Longweather controlled was known as the Triumvate. It was a literal union between the Theocractic Conclave of Hathsin, the Duchy of Norwell, and the Grand Republic of Meridia. These three former nations had a shared history and ancestry from a former nation that broke up, 834 years before the Dominion War (the war that established the Dominion of Longweather), when the various estates of the polity rebelled during a succession crisis. The Triumvate had only been in existence for 62 years before the Most Ancient and Noble House of Longweather and its various attendants arrived in an exodus from a parallel world, consolidated their place within the Triumvate to learn they could of their "benefactors", and then conquered them in a fairly swift coup known as the Dominion War.

After establishing military bases over the wasteland, we would be known as the Enclave, after our original (now destroyed) HQ, a Poseidon Energy Oil Rig off the coast of San Francisco named Control Station Enclave. After destroying the Brotherhood of Steel in Washington DC and establishing control over the entire District of Columbia, the United States of America was proclaimed by the new President Augustus Autumn, after the former President self destructed.
