National Referendum on the Flag of the FSSR

Postby Scottish Socialist Republics » Sun Aug 28, 2016 7:01 am

In a rare show of attentiveness to the political will of the population, the National Directorate Assembly of the Federation of Scottish Socialist Republics has granted the petitioned for request to hold a referendum on the flag of the nation.
This has came about due to a growing public desire to revert to the pre-revolutionary national banner, the St Andrew's Cross, in order to replace the post-revolutionary flag adopted in 2045.

There are two options in this referendum.

OPTION ONE
Image
The Cross of St Andrew, referred to colloquially as the Saltire. Used as the national flag from the foundation of the Kingdom of Scotland in 843 until the Act of Union in 1707, continued use as flag of Scotland as a sub-national unit from then until 2021 and independence, and from independence until the Socialist Revolution of 2045.

OPTION TWO
Image
The Cross, Hammer and Sickle- current national flag adopted in 2045.

By order of the NDA, this day- August 28th, 2061, shall be the day of Referendum.
