Angelward [OOC FT OPEN]

Postby Intersteller Terra » Thu Aug 25, 2016 6:55 am

Welcome to AngelWard
Where you can make the life of your dreams!

Barns Colonial Transportation Holdings invites you to to join us on Angelward the perfect place to start your life anew and become exactly who you want to be!
Settle down on the Angelwards endless rolling plain or take up residents in one of its bustling and growing towns, maybe even make it big and hit pay dirt by prospecting for rare minerals.
Endless opportunities await you on Angelward, it just takes one small step to realise your full potential!

You never felt quite at home where you grew up, for what ever reason you never quite fitted in or you simply just didn't get on with those you would call your species or your kin. You yearned for more or an escape from the monotony of your day to day life. You didn't really register the adverts and flyers the first few times, it seemed like more spam from the insistent billboards, emails and everything else that blurted out advertising to you on a daily basis. Each time you saw them however you started to think to yourself... 'what if? What if I packed my things and travelled to Angelward?' The question in your mind formed into curiosity you did your research and what little you could find pointed you to the conclusion that maybe you could become something else, heck you could become someone else if you wanted to!

Angelward huh.... the place looks and sounds terrific a world where the frontier is yet to be discovered, a place where you could stumble across your fortune at any moment, or simply escape from the monotony of your day to day life. Heck why not, any place has got to be better than this place right? Angelward could be where I really make it big you think to yourself someplace I can truly call home. That night you pack, say very little to anyone and book yourself onto the next shuttle out of your forsaken home and onward to Angelward! The surge of excitement grips you the adventure of your life time is really happening, you will soon be setting foot on another world. You can scarcely believe the audacity of your actions yet you feel satisfaction that you will be doing something none of your 2-bit friends would ever think to do.

Time passes achingly slowly the excitement and adrenaline keeping you awake through the night but eventually your there. Your at the spaceport waiting in the queue with other like minded individuals. Jealously surges over you for a moment... what if like you they are going to stake their claim on your wealth and glory or steal your sleepy patch of land you had decided to grow cattle on. Emotions mingle with one another but the fact others have come to take the journey with you gives you comfort that this is the right course of action and that you are doing what is best for you. The lady at the check in desk is lovely, all smiles as she takes your bags hands your your transportation documents and shows you with a quick polite point of the finger where the departures lounge is. A perfect time to get a drink and celebrate you new found freedom, the hours pass and eventually your departure gate appears on the boards its finally time to make your way to your new homeworld.

The transport is standard enough, a little claustrophobic but which company didn't try to cram as much onto a freighter the same was true for living cargo right? It didn't matter because the nice stewards and stewardess's are coming around with complimentary drinks and food. Slowly but surely the seats fill up around you people smiling and happy to go on their new adventure just like you, a smooth tone sounds around the cabin as the crew seal the air locks and the cool mannered captain welcomes you aboard promising you a smooth transit between the stars to Angelward.

You stifle a yawn, putting it down to the early morning and the excitement wearing off. You yawn again feeling your eyes grow heavy the voice of the captain getting further and further away. Looking around you absently you see others yawning and going to sleep a stewardess moves down the isles you turn to ask her a question only to see the gas mask on her face as she looks down at you. Dread sits at the back of your mind helpless to do anything she places a comforting hand on your shoulder as you yawn again this time your eyes closing your world shrinking to nothingness.

You are the intrepid mug that just walked into his or her own kidnapping, getting yourself taken robbed and eventually dumped on the planet of Angelward left to survive or die out in the arid deserts, disease infested jungles or at the barrel of some bandits gun. Will you survive and make your fortune like you set out to do or will you become another skeleton left out for the Carrion to feed upon? Angelward is a planet of great danger but also a planet where anyone can ultimately make their fortune in any way they want to as long as they ware willing to grasp the opportunity with both hands. As one of the victims players will find themselves waking up on the surface of Angelward with nothing but a basic survival kit and the clothes on your back. So submit a character to see if you can survive on the planet of Angel ward.

Angelward Locations:
For now only major settlements and locations will be listed others will be added as and when players stumble across note worthy Areas.

Westhold - Capital City
The largest settlement on Angelward, Westhold was the site where the first settlers landed and built the first settlement. It has grown since expanded outwards and erected walls to protect itself from raiders, Animals and the environment. Possibly the most technologically advanced and civilised place on the planet baring the Drax Point finding your way here would be essential if your looking to kit yourself out with the best gear out in the Rim. West hold and Drax Point are connected via a Maglev train that runs materials between the two settlements on a regular basis.

Drax Point - Praxium Corp Headquarters
Drax Point was founded as the side of Praxis Corps headquarters, since its foundation it had been turned into a fortress. Around the fortress is a large town built to service the companies worker the town of Drax Point is a mixture of sturdy concrete tenements, prefabricated structures. West hold and Drax Point are connected via a Maglev train that runs materials between the two settlements on a regular basis.

Lazaret - Settlement
Lazaret was the name of the colony ship that crash landed many years ago. The survivors cannibalised what remained of the ship and named the settlement after the ship. They tend to be very isolationist and sometimes hostile to outsiders. This stems from almost constant raids from local brigands that operate in the area.

Fort Harley
The Fort is the ground side headquarters of the Corsair Private Military Contractors that are contracted to protect Angelward and any settlements affiliated with the local Westhold Government.Built in the mountains north of Westhold no one is really sure what goes on in the base but the Local PMC’s do make regular patrols from the base in conjunction with their Warship in orbit above the planet.

Gallaghers Court
Home to the Gallaghers Cohort a group of ruthless raiders, Gallaghers Court is an old ruined fort bombed on a regular basis by the Corsair PMCs. Its thought that under the fort miles and miles of tunnels and bomb shelters have been built to allow the raiders to come away relatively unharmed when the bombers come calling. The Fort is south east from the settlement of Lazaret.

The Shaft
A miners town under the control of Praxium Corp, sat on a particularly rich vein of platinum and palladium the town sprung up as a boom town. You can find anything in The Shaft if you look and ask the right questions.

There are many more settlements and locations on Angelward to find and explore.

Factions on Angelward

Westhold Government
The local authority on Angelward and the recognised governing body of the Rimworld. In recent years the local government has become weak and ineffectual loosing lots of ground to settlements becoming independent raids from ruthless raiders. Despite its loss’s it still holds the capital city and its considerable defensive walls and weapons as well as the only space port on the world. It is working together with The Corsair Private Military Contractors in order to try and bring stability back to the planet.

Praxium Corp
Local known as “The Company” all over Angelward, they provide law and order to the considerable swathes of land they own. This law and order comes at a price however, low wages and very few amenities provided by the company itself. The Company is also not known for its leniency if public floggings and executions are common if you are found to be working against The Company. They operate their own security force on the planet that is almost as well equipped as The Corsair PMC’s

Gallagher’s Cohort
A particularly ruthless band of raiders operating out of the southern savannahs, known for razing entire settlements killing all the males and taking women and children captive to either be sold off to the local slavers or worse. Headed by Jona Gallagher an ex Praxium Corp Security colonel.

The Corsairs Private Military Group
Not much is known about the Corsairs PMCs other than they keep the peace for the Westhold government. They currently operate a warship in orbit of Angelward and are based out of Fort Harley deep in the Angel Mountain range. They operate some very advanced weapons and technology and use questionable tactics to meet their aims and objectives. Very little is known about the upper echelons of The Corsair PMCs. Rumour also has it that they are using their base in the mountains as a research centre for some weird genetic research.

Barns Colonial Transportation Holdings
Any board net search in most known galactic net sources will return articles of information about Barns Colonial, most will say the same thing even provide documentation from several major economic markets stating the authenticity of Barns Colonial. However digging deeper will reveal a rather dark side to Barns Colonial with rumours going of kidnapping experimentation on sentient species and all manner of dark twisted unconfirmed rumours. Rumour also has it that they have a secret base on Angelward where they conduct some of their secret research.

Barns Colonial Transportation Holdings
Flight XXD-677431a3 cargo roster:

Landing Date: September 5th

Player: The Vrree Nations
Passenger: Tauva na’Lixaiiya
Species: Vrree
Gender: Male
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms)
Mottled grey, orange, white and brown fur. Left eye blue, right eye hazel. Stands 5’10 (175 cm.). Lean with a bit of muscle. Has clawmark scars on his right chest, right upper arm, left back shoulder, and front left thigh. Double notched right ear. Has several piercings, but they took all his jewelry.
Tends to be friendly and good-natured, but also coy and wary at times (especially from now on). Good sense of humour. Carries himself with a bit of swagger. Uses expressive movements.
For more info on what Vrree look like, as well as their physical capabilities, see here: http://www.nationstates.net/nation=the_ ... /id=647702
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward:
Tauva has always been interested in alien cultures, in particular their clothing. Vrree normally do not wear clothes. Tauva is part of a subculture known as Clotheshorses. Clotheshorses are Vrree clothing enthusiasts who collect alien clothes. Tauva is one of the more hardcore Clotheshorses who actually wears clothing on occasion, as opposed to merely collecting them and displaying them on mannequins. Like most Clotheshorses, he is fascinated by the very concept of clothing and body taboos. Most mainstream Vrree consider Clotheshorses to be weird and a little bit creepy. Part of Tauva’s reason for coming to Angelward was to live in place where clothing is easily obtainable and where wearing it is normal and encouraged.
Tauva is what the Vrree call nilf. Just as a blind person has impaired sight, and a deaf person has impaired hearing, a nilf person has impaired smell. Humans would not consider him disabled. He has about the same olfactory range as a human (slightly better in fact), but by Vrree standards he is physically handicapped. Since Vrree culture is highly scent-oriented, Tauva suffered considerable difficulty and awkwardness among his own kind. Tauva hoped to move to an alien society where his handicap wouldn’t be a hindrance.
Lastly, Tauva has always been interested in earth sciences, and to a lesser extent engineering. Unfortunately, Vrree civilization is much more biology-oriented, so there wasn’t much demand for his area of expertise back home. Tauva came to Angelward in the hope of making his fortune as a prospector, or possibly a mechanic.
Any extra information:
Like all adult Vrree, Tauva has undergone wilderness survival training. The Vrree worlds are also home to deadly wildlife, lethal poisons, and virulent diseases (one of which caused Tauva’s nilfness). Tauva is no stranger to surviving in a harsh environment.
Back home, Tauva’s other hobby was the Vrree martial art of claw-fighting (this is where he got his scars). He engaged in it partly out of genuine enjoyment, and partly to earn respect among his fellow Vrree in spite of his disability. Tauva is therefore highly skilled at unarmed combat.

Player: The Great Trade Republic
Passenger: Aştî Arî
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Aştî is a 23 year old human of Kurdish ethnicity, born in the Great Trade Republic to a mother and father. She grew up an only child, and her parents were recent immigrants to the GTR when she was born. Her mother died when she was 14 and her father fell into poverty and was enslaved as a result (the impoverished are enslaved and all proceeds they earn instead go to free family members, unless they have no living family members in which case they go to whomever owns the slave), he later died of health complications when she was 17. She was then forced to abandon further education in order to support herself, constantly struggling to avoid bankruptcy so as not to be enslaved.

Aştî never really tried to fit into Republican society, unlike her parents. Though she did have friends and took advantage of what privileges she could in order to enjoy herself and alleviate stress, it was difficult for her to afford the expense. She absolutely despised the system, like other Republicans, and like them had no power to do anything about it.

Despite her qualms with the system, and her lack of interest in conforming to Republican society, she was a very laid-back, outgoing, friendly person. Easily excited and often adventurous, she had no problem making friends in the GTR, and found it hard for her to leave them behind. She is ever optimistic, even when faced with difficult situations and loves a good challenge every now and again. She can be naive and childish at times as well, though she often forces a moral obligation upon herself to do the right thing.
Picture (Optional): Pic
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Aştî wanted out of the plutocratic, totalitarian hellhole her parents had been sucked into by state-funded propaganda, and though she would miss her friends - both human and I'zëlën alike - she thought it was best to leave the GTR for her own sake, as the fear of potential enslavement continued to loom ever closer by each day. She sold her home and anything of non-sentimental value, quit her job, and bought the first ticket anywhere but the GTR. Unfortunately for her, it seems she fell into the same trap her parents did.
Any extra information:She's agnostic, speaks two languages naturally (Kurdish and I'zëlën), and has a universal translator embedded in her neck, and is also homosexual.

Player: Xiscapia
Passenger: Outlander
Species: Unknown
Gender: Female
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Subject Outlander is 5'6 tall and approximately 150 pounds heavy. Fur is mainly blue with white accents along the snout, underarm, palms, belly, and calves to feet; hair is likewise blue with white on the ends. Hands end in fingers while the feet are digitigrade and possess sharp claws built for disemboweling. Discolored patches of fur appear throughout. Head is topped by two triangular ears which are capable of rotating in the direction of sounds of interest. Eyes are red. Feline-reminiscent tail appears shortened to provide stability without unnecessary length. Breasts are small and underdeveloped with questionable functionality.
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Subject Outlander was recently activated by unknown entities to be placed on Angelward with basic skills. She has, in essence, only just been born, and the reasons for her placement are unknown to her (OP will decide exactly where she starts off and under what conditions).
Any extra information:If Subject Outlander has a past then it is largely unknown to her. She possesses three main pieces of information: her name, an in-built knowledge of Galactic Common, and a handful of memories. These are from what appears to be her own perspective and all involve the use of various weapons to disable, cripple, and kill various targets. Based off of these memories she has an innate knowledge of how to operate and maintain various kinds of weapons. She also possesses great natural flexibility that appears to exceed that of most other sapients.

Player: Xenohumanity
Passenger: Yuel Auend
Species:Identifies primarly as xenohuman, currently body-sleeved into a green-hide drakon
Gender: Male
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Yuel currently stands at eight feet, two inches tall, fit and hale but not quite as strong as the average drake. That being said, he is still superhumanly strong and his endurance (read: redundant organs and natural coagulant) makes him better suited for surviving trauma than the average human. Moss-green with the shiny scales of fresh adulthood (making him look about 20 years younger than his 'real' self). Naturally cooperative, but fully willing to throw strangers under the bus to keep himself alive and on top. Knows that working together tends to end better in circumstances like these than cut-throat competition but has no delusions of morality when he is put to the test.
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Rather than seek to escape his work and life, Yuel has been specifically sent by his employers at the Xeno-Tech Corporation to 'settle' onto Angelward to investigate the activities of the various corporate and mega-corporate entities on the planet. Barns Colonial Transportation Holdings and the Corsairs PMC are the primary focus of the investigation due to the difficulty of external auditing by Xeno-Tech dark-market researchers. Yuel knows that he will only have his wits and custom-grown musculature to help him to this end, but a Genestealer agent such as himself is expected to accomplish much more than this with even less. Xenon's (rare and sacred) confidence in his operative shows that, at any rate, Yuel can at least disappoint his employers in spectacular fashion if nothing else.
Any extra information: Yuel's brainscan has been sleeved into the body an unassuming green drake, vat-grown before his application and payment to move to Angelward were put through. While one would think this makes the dangers of the planet moot, Yuel is still very much in danger of agonizing death at the hands of marauders and the wilderness, and the distant knowledge that 'he' is back home on Tuzus II holding his Xeno-Tech job is a purely philosophical comfort. Nothing will come of this venture if he does not survive long enough to merge this 'fork' back into his host psyche and give his 'real' self the memories and experiences here, whether by moving to Angelward personally or simply fleeing the planet at the first opportunity. He also has a neural-implant fatline feeding back sensory input and cognition to secure servers at Xeno-Tech so that even in the event of his gruesome death, Yuel's findings can still be . However, the broadcast strength of the fatline may very well make him the target of more tech-savvy adversaries who would like to scoop out expensive signalling hardware out of his bashed skull, a fact he is more than aware of.

Player: Genomita
Passenger: Yanga Zua
Species: Shonn
Gender: Female
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Yanga stands at 6 feet two inches, her body supported by four muscular digitigrade legs each ending in clawed feet with three broad toes facing fourward and one facing backward. Her two arms are likewise well-trained both due to her work and affinity for physical activity in general and end in surprisingly dexterous four-fingered hands. Her leathery skin (where it isn't covered by a symbiosuit) is covered with a light layer of thin, wiry feathers and appears a matte blueish gray that borders on black to the naked eye with lighter grey markings along the sides of her body, while those capable of perceiving ultravioet light can see that her skin is a vibrant shade of icy blue that matches her large, owl-like eyes. Her long, muscular neck supports a head with a slightly curved beak, while her head is crowned with a hollow head crest that curves upwards from her skull, which allows her to project her voice over great distances if she has to. Bioluminescent organs capable of creating ultraviolet light run along the side of her body, arms and head crest and are further amplified by specialized organs in her symbiosuit. The suit itself is usually the same color as her skin (both in visible light and ultraviolet) but often changes color to reflect her mood. She carries a number of bags to store her belongings and owns a wristpad communicator/database that is usually attatched to her suits' left arm.
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Yanga is a habitat engineer of the Star Community's producer caste. After completing her work on a particularily challenging work she decided to take her sabbatical on a world outside the Star Community to gain new insights and inspiration for future projects. Little did she know that her extended vacation was about to take an unexpected turn...
Any extra information:Shonn are a species of nocturnal flightless omnivores and endurance pack hunters somewhat similar to avians. While Yanga is normally a friendly, dilligent and studious soul her nocturnal nature can leave her sluggish and irritable during the day. She is fond of physical activity in general and optimistic about overcoming obstacles. She also has a great love for the outdoors and prefers to spend her time outside if she can. She works well in groups, but like most Shonn she is accustomed to working with people or communicating over large distances where the others are seldom seen expect for light signals and perhaps their image on the display of her communicator. This makes her less comfortable with close physical proximity with people she doesn't know well, though she will generally be polite if firm about it if it comes up.

Player: Telros
Passenger: Yekha
Species: Gata'ja
Gender:Male
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Yek'ha, like most of his kind, is around four and a half feet in height, and has the rough dark brown leathery skin of his reptilian race. However, the similarities end there,as half of his face has been replaced with crude cybernetics, providing a constant red gleam to the robotic eye, and there is a constant low buzzing coming from it at all times. This extends to his lower jaw, with lines of machinery extending across his face like a disease. Nasty, yellowed surgery scars cover the rest, both from the implantation and attachment, and medical scars from recovering from whatever had caused this to happen to him. His right arm is in a similar state, being a crude but functional arm, however its fine motor control is inferior to his still remaining biological left arm. Across his body are numerous scars, differing shapes, sizes and shades, reflecting a rough life lived. Over this, he commonly wears a full-contained suit, hiding his identify and disfigurement, but with his choice to come to Angelward and the subsequent looting of his gear, he now merely wears a simple muddy vest with loops for tools and items, dark blue pants and boots, and oddly, a small cap he woke up with.

Yek'ha is quiet, rarely speaking and preferring to keep his head down and work. Something has been taken from him, and it can be seen in his every step, having to compensate for the hard ware build into him. He prefers to be left alone and wants to simply build a life for himself, but it appears fortune has not allowed him to be so lucky.
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Yek'ha had been one of the warrior caste for the Gata'jan Ammudzi, battling across the galaxy, raiding, conquering, destroying and he had been proud of it, of what he could do for his people and his Elders. When an explosion during a raid took the right side of his body, the surgeons were forced to remove the tattered and broken parts and replace it with machines to try and ensure he survived. After his recovery, he tried to return to his pack and to the front, but something was different now. They avoided his gaze and his link with them grew weaker over time and he saw more and more of his fellows die or end up like him. As the Ammudzi began to crumble, so too did his faith and belief in the collective rules of his people. When it exploded into civil war, he didn't know what side to pick, his pack leapt into the fray immediately, and threw him out when he hesitated. When alien invaders came in, seeking retribution and taking advantage of weakness, it was the final nail. Ye'kha turned his back on everything he knew, including his name, and walked away.

Since then he has been trying to find how to live alone, and in a galaxy that remembers what the Gata'ja have done. Many times he has been chased out, attacked and flat out denied places to stay and work. He has worked many small jobs for companies who did not care, could replace the workers, or outright mistreated their staff. Along the way, he slowly built up funds and people he won over, hoping to find a place to simply go live out the rest of his days, away from all of this. When the advertisement for Angelward appeared, he immediately booked a shuttle for it. It was everything he could want; a place to build a home, to try and settle the shards of his life. Then came the betrayal, the gas, and the loss of everything but a simple survival kit and his clothing. Bitter at the loss of everything, but determined to fight and survive as he always has, Yek'ha picks up his kit and began walking.
Any extra information:Military and guerrilla training, survival training, enhanced metabolism and hunger requirements. Yek'ha gets tired out more easily due to the weight of his arm, which he can detach if necessary. Able to see at night with clear vision and can keep his eyes open while underwater. Sharp claws and teeth capable of eviscerating a sentient being.

Player: Huerdae
Passenger: Sar'Kallos
Species: Augmented Human (Huerdaen)
Gender: Male
Description:(What your character looks like and their mannerisms) Sar'Kallos was the guy everyone wanted to be. Sharp features, straight back, a proud stance, he had it all. He moved with a confidence that none could touch, and he was a leader to those around him.

He is none of these things any more. His features remain, but his face is cast downward in defeat, and his stance is broken. He moves with a desperate furtiveness that shows the fear and lack of certainty behind his eyes. Many now would merely describe him as a beaten man, afraid to stand out. The confidence likely remains beneath it all, but it would take some effort to bring it forward.
Picture (Optional):
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Sar'Kallos was once the leader of his particular unit of Youth Militia, with the expectation that he would be moving up well in the Force or Shield units. However, attempts to join either soon found him lacking. Among the Shield recruits, he found he was often paralyzed by indecision, and in the chaos of the battlefield he soon found himself unable to act. Several disastrous training missions had him washed out of the Shield.

Following that, he made a similar attempt at the Imperial Force, only to find that his history of 'leadership' meant he would again be trained for an officer. In riot exercises there, he was quickly found to be in the same situation, and again was removed from employment. Following these two failures, Sar found himself with the sort of black mark to his name that nobody would consider worth hiring. He tried his hand at bounty hunting, and though he was clever and a single target was no problem for his cowardice, he hid his history to take a shot at the job.

His employer found out about his past, and his lying made him a taboo choice for anyone to hire in the Star Empire. He's skilled in many ways, and an intelligent man, but his history of cowardice in large-scale combat and his known history of lying in the Star Empire make him unemployable there now, except as a mere laborer. Facing this prejudice for years, he took up with a pirate group, providing skill at arms during boarding. This suited him well, but after two months, the Star Empire located the group and destroyed it, leaving him without a home. It was there that he saw the commercial for Angelward. Hunted, and with nowhere to go, he grasped at the vague promises, willingly falling into the trap with the clothes on his back and little more.
Any extra information:Sar'Kallos is desperate to outrun his past mistakes. He's easily manipulated and taken advantage of for this reason. He doesn't know why he's confused in larger groups or when a lot of things are going on, but it impacts him significantly. He is, however, skilled with most weapons. He's terrified of a position of leadership or control, and will actively avoid such a place. His goals lay in simply finding a new life, however vain and empty that goal is. It could be said that part of him realizes the stupidity of his actions.

Picture: Pic
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Aştî wanted out of the plutocratic, totalitarian hellhole her parents had been sucked into by state-funded propaganda, and though she would miss her friends - both human and I'zëlën alike - she thought it was best to leave the GTR for her own sake, as the fear of potential enslavement continued to loom ever closer by each day. She sold her home and anything of non-sentimental value, quit her job, and bought the first ticket anywhere but the GTR. Unfortunately for her, it seems she fell into the same trap her parents did.
Any extra information: She's agnostic, speaks two languages naturally (Kurdish and I'zëlën), and has a universal translator embedded in her neck, and is also homosexual.

Character Name: Subject is known only as "Outlander"
Species: Unknown
Gender: Female
Description: Subject Outlander is 5'6 tall and approximately 150 pounds heavy.
Picture (Optional): N/A
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Subject Outlander was recently activated by unknown entities to be placed on Angelward with basic skills. She has, in essence, only just been born, and the reasons for her placement are unknown to her (OP will decide exactly where she starts off and under what conditions).
Any extra information: If Subject Outlander has a past then it is largely unknown to her.

Character Name: Yuel Auend
Species: Identifies primarly as xenohuman, currently body-sleeved into a green-hide drakon
Gender: Male

Description: Yuel currently stands at eight feet, two inches tall, fit and hale but not quite as strong as the average drake.

Character Name: Yanga Zua
Species:Shonn
Gender:Female

Description: Yanga stands at 6 feet two inches, her body supported by four muscular digitigrade legs each ending in clawed feet with three broad toes facing fourward and one facing backward.
Picture: N/A

Reasons for coming to Angelward: Yanga is a habitat engineer of the Star Community's producer caste. After completing her work on a particularily challenging work she decided to take her sabbatical on a world outside the Star Community to gain new insights and inspiration for future projects. Little did she know that her extended vacation was about to take an unexpected turn...

Any extra information: Shonn are a species of nocturnal flightless omnivores and endurance pack hunters somewhat similar to avians.

Character Name: Yekha

Species: Gata'ja

Gender: Male

Description:

Yek'ha, like most of his kind, is around four and a half feet in height, and has the rough dark brown leathery skin of his reptilian race.

Reasons for coming to Angelward:

Yek'ha had been one of the warrior caste for the Gata'jan Ammudzi, battling across the galaxy, raiding, conquering, destroying and he had been proud of it, of what he could do for his people and his Elders.

Any extra information:

Military and guerrilla training, survival training, enhanced metabolism and hunger requirements. Yek'ha gets tired out more easily due to the weight of his arm, which he can detach if necessary. Able to see at night with clear vision and can keep his eyes open while underwater. Sharp claws and teeth capable of eviscerating a sentient being.

Character Name: Sar'Kallos
Species: Augmented Human (Huerdaen)
Gender: Male
Description: Sar'Kallos was the guy everyone wanted to be.

Any extra information: Sar'Kallos is desperate to outrun his past mistakes.
The Huerdaen Star Empire is an FT Nation.

I think the basic premise is that our characters wake up on Angelward sans equipment after getting kidnapped and robbed on the way to where they wanted to start a new life (or in the case of my character, take an extended vacation) and must try to survive or find a way off-world. Some of our characters may wake up close ot each other while others will wake up by themselves, wether close to one of the settlements or deep in the wilderness remains to be seen.

Largely what Geno said thw world is very much open world for your characters to make of it what they wisah to. I being the DM have some fun story arcs and over arching plot lines lined up for characters but alot of it will be determined by me emulating the Butterfly Effect as best as possible in an RP setting. I wont lie this is not a thread to get attached to your characters there is a good chance some are going to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. But if you want to have fun and try and make it big on the Planet of angelward then put an app in see how you do :)

Character Name: Kiribo Airu Genji Hattori (Formerly Shotun Kanga)
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Description:
He looks like this. He also wears Shogun armor, along with a kabuto helmet. He lives by a code he set by himself, and is bound to his honor above anything. This can sometimes mean he could be apathetic, and his loyalty can be deceiving.
Picture (Optional): Lol, up there.
Reasons for coming to Angelward: Shotun was the leader of a Rannorian clan on the planet of Segoji, a province of Rannoria that was largely divided by it's clans. In the heart of Segoji, there lay Edoto, the capital of the province. Clans fought for the capital to gain control of the planet, seem familiar? Anyhows, Kiribo's clan, (whose name back then was Shotun Kanga) the Shotun, have held the capital for generations. Their sole goal was to unify the planet, and create not small and large clans, but several large nations. Finally, Kiribo's father had died, and he was now Shotun Airu Genji, as the leader of the Shotun was, in tradition, to be named Shotun, then their second and third name after so. So, Shotun Airu Genji's father was a great war hero, defeating the two biggest rivals the Shotun had. The Damiy, and the Sakura. Airu Genji continued his father's work, striking for the clans of Osu and Uesega.

He crushed the Osu with ease, and earned the name Shotun Kanga, which meant Shotun the Vanquisher. He moved on to the Uesega, and won battle after battle. Finally, a small fort known as the Karim Castle was besieged by the Shotun. The battle was long, and took 5 years, ending in suffering defeat for the Shotun. The Uesega rapidly took back their lands, and, finally, reached Edoto. After a week longs battle, Shotun lost, losing their hope of unification. Kanga was exiled, and was on the run for several months. He seeks to be a warrior again, and reclaim his honor and glory.
Any extra information:
He seeks to avenge himself, and regain his honor. Something he has lost. Also, I dunno if there are any warrior things in Angelward.

Thanks for the App Rannoria Im going to accept it but you wont be on the first wave of new "colonists". Your character will make it planetside just a little later on when someone dies or I decided the next load of colonists is going to arrive.

As for others this thread is still accepting applications for prospective colonists for the 2nd wave.

Also ive updated the character roster with the first wave of "colonists" and your arrival date Barns Colonial Transportation Holdings would like to welcome you to Angelward and hopes you enjoyed your trip.

Corrupt Dictatorship

Postby Senkaku » Thu Sep 01, 2016 2:37 pm

Character Name: Hailin Sokolov
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Description: Hailin is of middling height, and not notably strong, attractive, and unusual in his dress, style, or mannerisms. His hair is light brown, as are his eyes, his clothing cheap, generic, and bland, bought from superstores in Hanjin- jeans, a t-shirt, tennis shoes, a light jacket. If you inspected him closely, you would also find an unusual, small, rectangular bump at the base of his neck- a connection port circuitry he's been wired with.
Hailin is quiet and shy, and reasonably clever, but has an innate desire to be useful and helpful and wanted that makes him relatively easy to manipulate. He has a moderate dependence on cannabis.
Picture (Optional): No
Reasons for coming to Angelward:
Hailin was raised in a poor family in Hanjin's Kairou District, growing up in a two-room apartment with his parents, paternal grandmother, two brothers, a sister, and a cousin. He had an unremarkable childhood for someone of his station, attending the Number Three Kairou Public Institute ( a terrible place) for schooling. As happens to many poor children, he was drawn into petty crime and substance abuse at a young age, and his cleverness and malleability made him a perfect drug mule and courier. After graduating from the Number Three Institute, he continued with petty crime and substance abuse as a profession and lifestyle, establishing his own small network of fellow mules and couriers. He was then drawn in by one of his friends, who was engaged in the business of smuggling AIs between Hanjin and other cities in the Golden League. Recognizing Hailin's experience as a courier, he hired him to smuggle AIs, which lead to Hailin undergoing an operation to have computing systems and platforms installed inside his own body. This had some interesting side-effects on Hailin's personality, wiping away much of his former outgoing self and turning him into a quieter, shier person than he had been previously- a predictable outcome, had he or his friend done more research on the side effects of uploading high-performance artificial intelligences onto a semi-shared neural network. Hailin had a successful run of smuggling AIs, but his friend was recently arrested, and was unable to wire Hailin money to buy a ticket back to Hanjin from Seokgrad, the city he departed from. A warrant was also put out in Hanjin for Hailin's arrest. Stranded in Seokgrad with barely any money and a head full of AIs, Hailin briefly worked as a solo pickpocket in the North Quarter and heard about Angelward through advertisements and word of mouth. He decided to purchase a ticket, since he had little tying him to his home.
Any extra information: Hailin is flying blind and just doing things on impulse. He also has a number of high-performance AIs running within the computers that have been woven into his body, which can mesh to a limited degree with his own neural network and cause odd symptoms not dissimilar to some mental illnesses at times. He has realized, however, that there is nothing for him in the Golden League, particularly in Hanjin, and has vague hopes of being able to start a new life. His professional expertise is largely limited to smuggling and petty crime, and he has some experience with small arms and melee implements (though nowhere near a military level).
