The general secretary of the Soviet American States wishes to attend the conference in order to voice his people's opinions and interests. He plans on coming to the meeting with a purpose of promoting his party's ideals and offer solutions to world's problems. He is already flying to France on his plane and prepares for the meeting with other delegates.

Prime Minister Arjun of the Kalmar Union was center-stage as a co-host of this conference. In reality, this was his idea to convene such a meeting, co-hosted by France to promote the idea of a unified Europe - in a time when CETO-Entente tensions were rising every minute. Indeed, this was what the conference was set to address, as well as the oil market crisis started by the British Empire and the SES.

Minister of Foreign affairs of the new SDU government, Behrooz Mehrdad walked down the stairway from his plane and into the awaiting limousine. Invited by the Kalmar Union, he looked forward to establishing new ties with the DEU. Unfortunately, he felt that the UK would be his adversary today, they were already trying to sink the fledging Persian economy, and now they'd counter his ideas as well. He hoped however, as he exited the limousine, and approached the building, that things would be better than petty argument.

The Orostani president Gordon Kars would also like to attend this DEU meeting in order to help ease tension between the UK and Orostan. Orostan would also like the assurance of the DEU that member states will not manipulate markets that Orostani allies depend on. The Orostani delegation will arrive in a small private Jet. President Kars is also interested in a trade deal with the DEU.

True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not on paper.” -J. V. STALIN

The Turkish Prime Minister would be the Turkish representative for this meeting, as the President was busy on other affairs in the nation. This DEU meeting would be a particularly important meeting, and may guarantee peace for decades, or possibly a third world war. Of course, the most important issues for Turkey in this meeting would be the entente and Greco-Turkish war. The Turkish PM entered the conference hall after hi jet ride, nodding at his compatriots, followed by five advisers.

President Anastasia as well as four of her delegates walked into room. Giving a small wave and greeting they took a seat they were accustomed to next to the Turks. The last meeting had been of simple policies in Europe, but here it seemed she had stepped in the shoes of her country to take place as one of the big four in room between herself and the representatives from Kalmar, France, and of course the UK. The topic of today was of course oil as well as DEU and CETO, and as such she undid her suitcase as she pulled purr some notes to go forward with in the meeting.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to the August DEU conference, which we have officially convened to address two pressing issues: namely, the new trend of global tensions centering around Europe and the oil market crisis. We are Europe. We are strong. We are unified. As such, these issues should be easy enough to deal with. Let us first deal with the growing tensions as a threat to our continued cooperation is more dangerous than any economic concern."

- Kalmar Union Prime Minister

Prince George himself arrived, acknowledging the importance of such a meeting. He was accompanied by the Prime Minister of Egypt, who wished to intend. George apologised for the lateness, and discussed a wad of paper the PM had before sitting down and waiting for the meeting to begin.

The Grand Marshal has arrived to the city of love. Accompanied by his guards and aides, he made his way to the conference hall. Impressed at the grandiose structures and spacious rooms, he walked down the hall looking for the meeting room and other leaders who came here.

"The best way to solve global tensions, in my opinion," said the Kalmar Union Prime Minister, "Is through pan-European cooperation, not just in words like we have been doing but in concrete action that the people have not been seeing enough of. I propose that we begin a series of large-scale projects aimed at providing services to the entire continent, with no region left behind.

1. A Trans-European Transport Network would greatly improve the economies of all nations on the continent and link us together in more than words.
2. A European Social Fund should be established, aiming to curb unemployment through improving work skills and job prospects, and social injustice through offering material assistance to the most deprived on our continent.
3. A European Internal Market would ensure the free movement of goods, capital, services, and people throughout all signatory nations. As no nation on the continent is an exploiter of globalization, this would only bode well for the economies and working class of participating nations. This will also lead to increased market competition and specialization of labor. A common external tariff would be mandated within this free trade zone to inhibit the practice of re-exportation. Overseas territories would not be included in such an agreement, although separate bilateral treaties can be established."

The PM of Egypt started to speak. "Taxation and tariffs from trade form a part of our export and import income. We do not want to lose this source of income. This transport system you mentioned would also coat billions of taxpayer's money."

President Jėtil spoke up, "Adding on what the Egyptian Prime Minister has said, assuming that a train line would run through Galicia too, who is going to pay for this project? We're talking millions of dollars and frankly from the a Puertollanoan view, it wouldn't be worth the money to fund it."

George spoke: "Also, we would not want yet another entrance into the British Isles. Our current arrangement with France ensures safety as well as a fortified entrance into England and thus the rest of the isles. Another transport system spanning the whole of Europe would be a safety hazard for us and others in Europe."

The grand marshal listened carefully to the delegates and then opinionated.
"Gentlemen, we have gathered here in order to discuss important matters which our planet is facing at this moment. So let us speak about the rise of socialism. My people have experienced itfirsthand and pressured our leaders to speak up." He took a pause.
"Socialism was destroyed in the end of the last century and my people rejoiced about it. They appreciated freedom. So let us make sure that Marxism stays dead. Let us create barriers to halt the communist expansion. Let's get United and stand up! Let us create committees to help people who don't want communism!"

The Orostani ambassador spoke up.

"Excuse me- I consider myself a communist, and we're doing just fine. The people of Orostan were happy under Democratic Communism, and your idea is no better than the "Political Education" being suggested by other European powers. If you want to ban my ideology, at least read the book on it."

He hands the Slavic ambassador a copy of the Communist Manifesto.

"Representatives," said the Kalmar Union Prime Minister, "As host of the conference, I must interject here and say that European unity is first and foremost our objective of this conference; we must continue on that topic. Suppressing ideologies is not on our agenda, as long as the people remain sovereign and have the right to elect their leadership." With that, he glared sharply at the General Secretary of the American Soviet States.

"Let us continue to discuss the pan-European projects that I mentioned about earlier."
