For hundreds of years, mankind has been teraforming and colonizing the Sol system. There isn't a moon or asteroid without at least one colony on it. Though in this spreading out across the planets, mankind has become more seperate. The human unity which launched the space programs has worn thin to it's breaking point. Technology and society has developed on the various worlds in ways which are completely different from those of others. These differences led to the creation of difference nations. These different nations have had skirmishes and squables, the last taste of true system warfare was during the fall of the old earth empire in 2450, and that was some time ago.
However, lines have been drawn as the nations find themselves rallying under different banners. The Fedaration wish to unite the colonies once more to create a greater human empire, and the Alliance of Freedom stands for colonial rights and sovereignty. These two forces now oppose each other in the comming battle for the system. A war which will engulf sol in turmoil.
Land Avaliable
Mercury
Map
Though temperature regulation machines and terraforming has left mercury inhabitable, the geologically reactivated seas of lava and toxic gas make it a harsh environment to say the least. Despite this, old war scraps
Venus
Map
During terraforming, a glitch meant Venus was flooded with water which left most of the lowlands uninhabitable. However Venus' prime position between mineral rich mercury and argiculturally rich earth has made it the perfect trade hub for the region.
Earth
Map
Earth is the most populous of the planets, rivaled only by mars. In addition their agriculture is effective, however the world has been exploited heavily for resources and the earthen tech is a little backwards.
Luna:
Map
Luna is home to many an early research facility and many scientists. Though they're not always happy with centralized control.
Mars
Map
An Industrial powerhouse, Mars was the most effectively terraformed of the inner planets. However Mars lacks unity and the wealth inequality is staggering,
Phobos and Demios
Asteroid Belt:
Jupiter
Since Gas giants proved troublesome for terraformers, many were ready to give up on dreams of living on jupiter, but then a mad scientist thought of creating cities floating in the skies of this planet. In total there are about 50 stations on Jupiter
Europa
Map
Europa was a much easier prospect for colonizers, and actually now provides a lot of agricultural power for the region. It serves as Jupiter breadbasket,
Ganymede
Map
Ganymede was the sight of the last theater of the old war, leaving it with a lot of old world scrap to use.
Io
Map
The last of the moons the old terraformers could afford to colonize around Jupiter. Io is a fortress moon, yet it's mountains leave little room for humans.
Saturn
Similar to Jupier, Saturn has stations on it. Numbering at about 70, saturn hosts a good deal of the megecorps of sol, which give it most of it's power, though cause it a lot of problems too.
Saturns Rings
Saturns rings contain many small stations and rocks to settle on.
Neptune and Uranus
Due to it's watery composition, neptune is mostly uninhabited save for a few neutral stations. The same goes for Uranus. The transition from gasseous planet to terraformed planet left both without much to offer.
Triton:
Map
Triton was the hope when project neptune failed. Minerally rich and argiculturally rich too. The only problems lie in the lack of wealth and backwards technology
Pluto:
Map
Pluto is a hive of scum and villainy that rivals all others. A world where all the colonies sent their convicts, pluto became a cuthroat planet full of brigadeers and criminals.
The Alliance and the Fedaration
The Federation was thought to be the dying gasp of the earthlings, wishing to regain control of what they had once had under their domain. However the idea has caught on with several Sol powers, many of which are now commuted to the formation of a greater federation. They espouse that by forming together in one confederation, the systems of sol would be greater together than they would be apart. The federation envisages a single entity which governs over unified yet still sovereign nations.
The Alliance on the other hand, sees the federation as a tyrannical body. It sees no need for a governing body and believes that this is an earthling plot to regain control of Sol. Many of the alliance members are isolationist by nature, yet have banded with others to prevent the Federation from achieving its goal. The alliance is always quick to remind others that it is a military alliance only and not a

Rules and guidelines
Feel free to be creative with the sci fi elements, but magic and aliens are off limits. As is anything absurd like time travel.
No godmodding, if you get into an arguement about casualties or how badly an enemy should have been damaged then I or a coop will attempt to mediate and find a compromise.
Though the war could go either way, do try to plan out how engagements will go with all parties before getting into them. I appreciate this is not everyone's style, but you do have to communicate even if you do not wish to plan ahead.
Don't be afraid to loose territory or be knocked out of the war. This rp is for people who want to create a cool story, not nessecarily those who want to "win".
All nations are considered to have been neutral until they joined the rp, and once you decide to leave or if you are inactive for too long, your nation will have pulled out of the war.
IC thread procedure
The main IC is for diplomatic role playing and anything concerning the System war as a whole, while players are encouraged to create separate ICs for specific theatres of war, and sometimes especially large engagements and battles,
