Welcome to the signup thread for the I Olympia Games, an event inspired by the Ancient Greek Olympic Games. The I Olympia Games are currently scheduled to start around August 21st, 2016 and will be held in Ilysea, Ilyseum in honor of Olympia, the Ilysee goddess of health, beauty, love and sport.
Please read the signup instructions carefully.
Entry Limits
The entry limit for the I Olympia Games is 200 entries across an unlimited number of delegations. Puppet delegations must be declared. A single delegation can consist of any number of entries, though the technical maximum is 77. An entry consists of each individual or team that participates in an event. An individual who participates in more than 1 event counts as an entry for each event that they participate in while an entire blitzball or Ilysee hockey team counts as a single entry. A delegation may consist of a single nation or it may be a Unified Team consisting of athletes from multiple nations competing under the same banner.
Skill Modifiers
Your athletes and teams should have a skill modifier, which is an integer (whole number) between 0 and 100. Any modifiers that contain decimals will be rounded down and any modifiers with numbers below 0 or above 100 will be set to 0. An athlete or team that is just competing in the spirit of competition, without any expectation of success, would have a low modifier (near 0). An athlete or team that is considered a medal favorite would have a high modifier (near 100). Each entry should have a single skill modifier.
The average of all of your skill modifiers must be 50 or less.
In addition, there is an incentive to avoid "min-maxing," the act of concentrating most or all skill points in certain entries, in the form of a "Min-Max Avoidance Bonus" (MMAB) that is based on the standard deviation of skill values; in simple terms, the more evenly spread these values are, the greater the MMAB will be. The maximum MMAB is equivalent to 20% of the bonus that will be added to the final skill value used for scorination, with 30% of the bonus based upon cumulative RP bonus and the other 50% based upon daily RP bonus. The bonus will have a significant impact, but the exact percentages will not be revealed publicly. Note that Margaret, the goddess of luck and random numbers, will ensure that nothing is ever guaranteed - surprise results will happen, and neither skill nor RP guarantees anything.
How to Signup
First, copy and paste the event list into a reply. Then, create a new line for each entry you intend to enter into that event. Enter each entry on a separate line. Please remove any events which you are not entering from your signup list.
The maximum number of entries for a given event is specified in parentheses () after the event's name. Where an event just has a number, such as (5), after its name, enter the athlete's name. For chariot racing events, the name should be the name of the rider, not the name of the horses on the team. Where an event's name is followed by just a number of teams, such as (1 team), enter the name of the team. For the team events, the team name should be the name of your delegation (in the case of unified teams, either the unified team's name or the name of one of the delegations that comprise the team).
DO NOT "tag" or "reserve" a post within this thread. Such posts will be regarded as spam. As I will be updating the input files containing your signups as they are posted, changes to signups should be posted in a separate post, listing only the changes, not the entire signup list.
Please enter your entries for all events except pankration in the following format:

where "Entry Name" is the name of your entry, "Trigramme" is a unique 3-letter code (in all caps) representing your country (see this thread) and "Modifier" is your entry's skill modifier.
For pankration, please enter your entries in the following format:
Entry Name;Trigramme;Skill Style
where "Entry Name" is the name of your entry, "Trigramme" is a unique 3-letter code (in all caps) representing your country (see this thread), "Skill" is your entry's skill modifier and "Style" is your entry's style modifier. A style modifier is a number between -5 and 5 that reflects the style of your fighter. A negative modifier reflects a fighter who focuses on taking fights to the ground and going for submissions while a positive modifier reflects a fighter who prefers to fight standing up and go for knockouts.
Alternatively, if your computer is running Microsoft Windows, you may use Signup Creator to assist in the creation of your signup. If you use Signup Creator and elect to enter athletes in pankration, you will have to manually add the style modifiers for your pankratiasts or they will be assigned the neutral style modifier of 0.
I will, periodically, post an update in this thread, listing all of the valid signups to that point and the corrections that need to be made for any invalid signups to become valid.
Information about various sports
Chariot Racing: Exactly what it sounds like. 12 laps around a race course. Bigae means 2-horse chariots. Quadrigae means 4-horse chariots.
Karate: Kumite karate, which is the one where they actually make contact. Kata, where the fighters merely pretend to fight, is also contested at the RL World Games.
Pankration: The Ilysee name for MMA, the sport contested most prominently in the RL Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Also the Ancient Greek name for the sport.
Wushu: Sanshou (also known as Sanda), which is a competitive fight, rather than taolu, which is a judged performance.
Stadion: A 200 meter foot race.
Diaulos: A 400 meter foot race.
Dolichos: A 5 kilometer foot race.
Hoplitodromos: A double diaulos (800 meter foot race) while wearing full Ilysee military armor (with helmet and greaves) and carrying a shield.
Pentathlon: An event consisting of a stadion (200 meter foot race), javelin throw, discus throw, triple jump and wrestling. The top 16 competitors based upon performance in the first 4 competitions qualify for a wrestling tournament.
Blitzball: The underwater sport from Final Fantasy X. Very popular sport in Ilyseum.
Ilysee Hockey: Virtually identical to ice hockey, but on concrete with fewer rules.

Scorination/RP Bonuses
Xkoranate will be used for most events, but Must10inator will be used for boxing and pankration. Chariot racing will be scorinated as auto racing with the exact settings for xkoranate's auto racing module to be determined. Where xkoranate does not provide an appropriate option for the various foot races, I will modify files to produce one. Blitzball will be scorinated using the existing scorinator that I created for it. Ilysee Hockey will be scorinated using SQIS for Ice Hockey without shootouts.
The RP bonus will be weighted, with cumulative RP worth 30 percent of the bonus and the current day's RP worth 50 percent. Both the cumulative and daily bonuses will be scaled, relative to the highest scores obtained. The other 20 percent of the bonus will consist of a min-max avoidance bonus (MMAB) based upon the standard deviation of a delegation's skill modifiers. Therefore, whomever has the highest cumulative RP bonus will obtain .30 points of RP bonus for cumulative bonus (plus their daily bonus and signup/roster bonus), with everybody else being awarded cumulative bonus based on their cumulative score relative to the highest score. Likewise, whomever has the highest daily RP bonus score will be awarded .50 points of bonus for daily bonus (plus their cumulative bonus and signup/roster bonus), with everybody else's daily bonus being awarded based on their score for that day, relative to the highest score. Rosters and national information will count toward daily bonus for the matchday after they are posted and, therefore, also toward the cumulative bonus. The host delegation will receive 3/4 of a point of RP bonus for the entirety of the Games (conditional upon my team sports rosters being posted before the first scorination and my signup receiving a full MMAB). This is done to simulate the home advantage effect that exists in the RL Olympics. Host bonus will only apply to the Ilysee delegation and not to any additional delegations that I may elect to enter.
Schedule and Formats
The schedule will be determined later, with the first scorination occurring following the conclusion of the Summer Olympics. Expect the Opening Ceremony to be held several days after this signup thread closes. The list of venues to be used will be announced later.
All boxing fights will consist of 15 rounds while all pankration fights will consist of 5 rounds.
The specific formats for the events will be determined at a later date, based upon final entry numbers. Please do not enter "numbers puppets" just to get the number for a specific event to a certain amount. I will devise a format for whatever the final number turns out to be.

The deadline for entries to the I Olympia Games is set tentatively for the exact moment of the Closing Ceremony of the Games of the XI Olympiad.
