Favourite Flag?

Let us have a nice little thread about flags. A nice little discussion where we can talk about things that are nice and all about aesthetic, ie: a calm easygoing topic for everyone to enjoy.

What is your favorite flag(or perhaps flags)?
And what is your least favorite flag(or perhaps flags)?

Those are the questions.

My favorite flag is Singapore's.

I like how it's simple and yet manages to take a classic proud character. The symbolism is also very well executed imo. It is nice when they have the quantity of a certain feature stand for something.

My least favorite flag is Niue's.....

The real life flag it's based upon is the Capetian Banner and the Royalist flags of France:

Particularly the Capetian one is pretty common down here, Fort Maurepas is where the French first landed when D'Iberville explored the area.

Being the patriotic Brit I am, my favourite flags are both British. First is the Union Flag of the United Kingdom itself, a wave of pride always washes over me whenever I see it waving in the breeze. My second favourite is the flag of my own constituent country of Wales. I mean, look at it! It's a damn bloody dragon! How can you not love that?

My favorite has to be the Kenyan flag. It just works for my eyes as the colors blend and the symbol relates well.

My least favorite flag has got to be the Western Roman Empire's flag. It just looks so bad to me.

There's many I'm fond of, but currently I'm rather fond of Bhutan's. One word: dragon!

I'm very fond of simple flags. A should be simple and recognizable. Japan is the king of simplicity. It's simple, recognizable yet very symbolic. The Nordic flags are also other examples of good flags.

I really like the flag of Britain, Romania, Wales,Albania, and Brazil.

Though somewhat biased I may be, I have to say the Union Jack. There is something about the aesthetic I’ve always enjoyed and I have one proudly hanging in my bedroom above my television.

Outside of the UK, I’d have to say that my favourite flags are found in the Nordic countries, so call me a sucker for a good cross-based flag.

All that being said, despite my other bias, I’m not entirely fond of the US flag. I don’t find it to be bad, but I don’t find it to be particularly good either. (Just don’t get me started on US state flags...)

Are incredibly boring. I don't think Massachusetts could create a more uninteresting flag if it tried. It could have at least put it on a field of some other color.

Anyway, I like Nepal's flag when it comes down to national flags. The shape and how its constructed, to what it represents.

Oh that's a tough one.

Of course the flag of my home nation (the USA) and my home state (NC) will always hold a special place in my heart. Beyond that though, I'm pretty found of most flags. I like the simple tricolors of Europe as well as Union Jack and its Variations.

I guess my historical favorites would be the flag of the Empire of Germany and the Qing dynasty.

Generally speaking, as long as a flag doesn't get to crazy or complex, I'll have little problem with it.

They're so ubiquitous, and so completely useless and awful, and most of all lazy, if it wasn't a First Amendment violation, I'd say we should really have a law against them, lol

Eh I'm not a huge fan of when states/cities stick their seal on a single color background. Sure,it's the seal of the state, but it is incredibly lazy. A flag is supposed to stand out and represent what that state/city represents.

I know, right? And the absolute worst is when they do that, and just write the name on the bottom because they know it's indistinguishable, but don't have the wherewithal to fix it.
