Fallen Ideals [Post-Apocalyptic/Worldbuilding]

In our world, at a to-be determined point in the near future, for whatever reasons a nuclear holocaust envelops the planet, by either accident or malicious intents from the nations of the world. Whatever the reason, the world is a broken, irradiated shell of its former self, and now, 200 years later, it is ruled by lawless bandits and the occasional settlements or self-righteous "nation" that fancies itself a new civilization.

This thread will be about building up this world, with factions, setting, events, disasters, history, creatures, and the like. If it goes successfully may go on to turn into its own RP.

[Sidenote, I'd prefer a lack of energy weapons and powered armor.]

Is it the whole world that is available or just specific continents?

It would be limited to one continent, but I'll let which one to be decided (Except Antarctica).

Looking it up, and you're kind of right. It was mostly inspired by Tribetwelve, honestly.

I'll get some ideas up for this when I get a chance, ~~but I'm curious, what type of apocalypse are we looking at here? Nuclear? Zombies? Ayylamos?~~

I'm dreadfully overextending myself, but NS Summer is upon us, so why the hell not. So will we do an alt history, or build off of our own timeline that leads to nuclear war?

We could do alt history. That's entirely why this thread is here, for us to build this world from literally the ground up. All I said for sure so far is 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse. Everything else is to be decided by us.

Ok, idea. I like the idea of post-apocalyptic retro-futurism, a la Fallout, but what if we used a different type of retro-futurism?

What if it was a world that was like a futuristic 80s movie at one point, with robots and shit, but it's all broken down and barely working anymore because-

Fuck, I dunno, might as well go all out and say that Reagan pulled the trigger on STAR WARS or something.

Beyond that, I've got a few ideas for potential wasteland governments if not.

Are we looking at Nation or Character RP, by the way?

My thought was that it could be bred between something like Robocop and Blade-Runner, meets Mad Max. Basically.

All I know is I need people in leather jackets with sawn off shotguns, STAT.

Somewhat. Like I said, I'd prefer not much powered armor or energy weapons. Idk it throws off my immersion.
