Sci-Fi Attack on Titan? Count me in.

So from what I'm gathering, this is taking place where Spain/Portugal are? And The wall runs between where the French-Spanish border would be?

Yes, right through the Pyrenees Mountain range. The wall in question here is a single, massive, monolithic structure built from materials unknown to us here in the real world, but are an essential composite in this universe. It is well into three hundred meters in height at some points, but is thinly built, acting more as a support structure for the massive defensive turrets and countermeasures mounted atop it in a similar fashion as the cannons on the walls in the Manga and the Anime were. This wall, however, is about fifty meters in thickness as well and this doesn't include the Wall Keeps which are special garrisons along key points of the Wall. They are excessively defended and reinforced as they are where the gates are located.

Intriguing, I'd like to play as a Great Old One, or at least a sentient titan.

Nope. Not the aim nor the direction of this storyline.

Why is it that only the Iberian peninsula with people? It's been a while since I watched AoT so this question might already have an answer, but wouldn't people be safe on any island? Titans cant swim, can they?

In this timeline, they most certainly can pass across water obstacles, but it's difficult for them. The Iberian Peninsula's not the only place mind you, it's just the largest known location. Another side objective of the Sentinels is to scout the northern areas and try to find Human settlements existing out there, not yet attacked by the Titans or being left alone.

The Titans pass through water by swimming in a way, they can't submerge, so they instead bob and float. The intense heat they produce also creates massive steam clouds wherever they swim, so generally coastal fog is a sign of approaching Titans and coastal defenses and the Coastguard (which exists here) can mobilize and engage in powerful counterattacks. In the end, Titans have only the slimmest of chances of succeeding in approaching by water while they could do just as well if not better staying on land and pushing for the Wall, a Wall which as of right now is suffering already from dozens of breaches in its security perimeter and hull.

It's sort of like that, think of it more along the lines of acting as the Wall of the North for GoT, but with futuristic tastes and for AoT Purposes...

Probably a little better if you didn't because what people know of the Titans from the anime and the Manga certainly isn't going to do much here...

I'm interested in this Sci-Fi AoT, Kass.

It is also true that original AoT's knowledge won't do much here considering the divergence of the history and technologies.

Unfortunately, with my leaving for boot camp in a few days, I'm going to have to close this. I had been hoping for some others to join that had expressed interest in other threads, but they never came (well, 'cept for Tito, but Tito's always with me). Sorry guys, but this Interest Thread is going to be shut down for a few months as I'm going through BCT. Hopefully once I get out, everything will free up in my own time and the people I'd been holding out for.
