Greetings. fellow P2TMers, you are a pony living in Equestrian in either the cities of Canterlot, Ponyville or Cloudsdale. What happens in the IC is completely up to you to decide via OCC. You may use either a Canon Character or an OC.

The Story thus far, continuing from the prequel...

Princess Twilight Sparkle has become a busy mare ever since the Crystal Tree Castle sprouted in Ponyville. She has adopted seven colts and fillies of various species after pursuing them for their burglaries against Ponyville residents. And of course, she has mediated many friendship, contract, domestic, and other disputes, as well as advising the Ponyville government on local matters.

But one day, Prince Razor Wing, the leader of a changeling colony who hopes for better changeling-pony relations, came to Twilight for help. He warned of an impending attack against Equestria by Queen Chrysalis and her hive, which has now become stronger than ever. Together they convinced the Equestrian Parliament and the Regal Sisters to both allocate funds for the defense of Equestria in case of such an attack, and to allow changelings to openly join the Royal Guard.

The second, however, only would go into effect on the changelings’ good behavior at the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala. All went relatively well at the Gala until Queen Chrysalis’ hive attacked the party, leaving many ponies and changeling refugees dead.

This was not limited to just Canterlot—all of Equestria was under attack. The Princesses and Prince Razor Wing battled throughout the night, resisting the invaders’ advances, but it was tiring. Many cities, including Ponyville and Manehattan, outright capitulated. All seemed lost until Prince Razor Wing’s allies from other changeling colonies mounted a counterattack against the invaders, driving them out of Canterlot, Ponyville, and other Equestrian cities.

But Equestria is still at war. Manehattan, having been conquered by Queen Chrysalis herself, is still under her control. The Royal Guard, the Crystal Guards, and now-King Razor Wing’s allies are trying to liberate the many Equestrian cities and towns still occupied by Chrysalis’ forces, and Chrysalis’ forces are mounting new attacks against recaptured cities and towns.
Many ponies still under Equestrian control, however, especially in the well-defended cities of Canterlot and Ponyville, see little direct fighting. Much of their experience with the war is through the new wartime economy and culture. Food, steel, clothing materials, and even gems are subject to tighter and tighter rations. Arms and armor are being produced in record numbers, and research grants predominantly go to new weapons research. Air raid drills are commonplace at schools and the larger workplaces. Propaganda aiming to galvanize the population against Chrysalis and to contribute to the war effort are widespread. Safe rooms are being constructed in more ponies’ backyards, with many fearing an attack could just sprout up at any moment.

At the same time, changelings are making some more progress in Equestrian society. Construction of a changeling history museum has begun in Canterlot. A changeling fortress, found in the caves beneath Canterlot, has been preserved for study. Schools are reluctantly beginning to allow younglings to sit in the same classes as their filly and colt peers. But private and subtle discrimination, as well as a general unease against changelings, still lingers. The Princesses, who have all eventually come to support the efforts to fully integrate changelings into Equestrian society, all hope that the war effort will forge a greater appreciation for them and their culture.

It has been over nine months since the Gala attack, and though Canterlot and Ponyville remain firmly under Equestrian control, other cities are more vulnerable, some changing hooves every month. So far as anypony can tell, the war will occupy Equestria—and its citizens’ lives—for a long time to come.

IC Story so far:

In the wake of summer, however, the scene has changed. First, the Empire convinced Phillip Blackwing, a claimant to the Griffonstone throne, to join its cause. His military skill helped lead to the fall of Cloudsdale, Hollow Shades, and Fillydelphia in the span of just a few days. Then, an Empire spy opened fire in the Parliament Hall cafeteria, killing one, injuring several, and leaving deputies and senators jittery. Finally, on the day of the Summer Sun Celebration, the Temple of Vision, a reactionary cult popular in near-western towns like Appleloosa and Dodge Junction, orchestrated a coup on Ponyville, killing nearly all of the Royal Guard there and taking over its government, no more than a day after massacring a couple hundred changelings living there.

Even the Equestrian government itself is at a crossroads. There is already talk of enacting a general draft and even reversing the new Royal Guard Changeling Integration Act, as the events of the Summer Sun Celebration Weekend have instilled a new fear among the populace and revived old prejudices. A government shutdown looms as the Appropriations chair has moved a radical bill as a vote of confidence against the Royal Cabinet. All are looking to the next big meeting of Parliament since the war appropriations and integration bills were passed to see how these and other matters will fall.

Of course, there are still glimmers of hope. A new cult, defecting from the Temple of Vision and more tolerant of changelings, has been working hard to help the victims of the Temple's violence, and are planning an exodus of all surviving Ponyville changelings to the Crystal Empire. A number of high-profile deputies are openly promoting a campaign to overthrow the Empire in Manehattan from within, though interest has been slow in the new climate of fear. And even the recent school graduations have reminded the people of Ponyville of a still promising future for Equestria. Time will tell whether these and other small pockets of happiness and hope will be enough for Equestria to endure.

Cities

PonyVille: Ponyville is a small town that is the main setting of the series and the home of the main characters. Ponyville was founded by Earth ponies, but it is currently inhabited by Pegasi, unicorns, and newly welcomed friendly changelings as well. After the terrible Changeling attacks nine months ago, the town has become fortified and heavily secured. All species may start here.

The town has recently fallen into the hands of the Temple of Vision, a rebellious cult of anti-changeling zealots who follow Visionary in the name of the 'All-Maker'. The town is now utterly hostile towards changelings as a species and dangerous to all changeling sympathizers...

Cloudsdale: Cloudsdale is a city in the sky where Equestria's weather is made. Only Pegasi live and work there, since non-Pegasus ponies cannot stand on clouds. After being liberated from the Changeling invaders, security in Cloudsdale, especially The Weather Factory, is at it's maximum.

Unfortunately, though, thanks to a new ally, the rouge griffin Lord Philip, Cloudsdale has recently fallen to the Changeling Empire...

Canterlot: Canterlot is the capital of Equestria and home to the royal palace of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. It was also the home of Twilight Sparkle and Spike prior to their relocation to Ponyville. Canterlot is where large events such as the Grand Galloping Gala take place. Just like Ponyville and Cloudsdale, Canterlot has become heavily fortified and highly secured.

Manehatten: Once the crown jewel of Equestria's trade and industry, Manehatten has become the capital of The First Changeling Empire, ruled by Queen Chrysalis. The city is now a highly unrecognizable mess with all sticky webs of changeling goo all over, where ponies live in fear under terrible subjugation. On the bright side, though, Manehatten is currently under siege by the Pony-Changeling Alliance, hoping to take back the city and bring Chrysalis to justice.

Just a small correction: Frost is dead - killed by wounds from the Diamond Dogs. Forge left to migrate to where the other dragons were at the end of the sequel, and Trace was killed by Yang earlier on in the prequel. That leaves only two characters of mine left: Silver Sword the sword maker, and Yang. I'll be RPing as both.

An app for a new character is to come soon, alongside better ones for my two surviving guys.

Name: Yang
Species: Dragon (Type: Stone/Earth)
Sex: Male
Residence: Silver Sword's shop, Everfree-Ponyville Border
Occupation: Sword Maker's Apprentice, Possible Mercenary
Appearance: Here. The Source
Cutie mark: Dragon's don't even have cutie marks.... wut
Bio: Imagine being born into this world a scared, afraid, and alone individual, with no parents, in hostile territory. That was the life Yang lived for most of his early life. Living off of the land of the Everfree forest, Yang learned to survive way before most dragons were supposed to, and lived a reclusive, cautious life. That was, until he was picked up by two orphaned dragons he'd never forget- Forge, the fire-breathing red dragon powerhouse, and Frost, the intelligent electric Serpentine dragon. Yang was raised like a brother by the two dragons, the brother they never had, and all worked together from there on out, be it surviving against the hostile world, or adventuring for treasure. They did mostly the latter. Under the name of the group known as Frost and Co., the trio of dragons racked up impressive scores against raiding Diamond Dog settlements, bounty hunting, treasure hunting, and scavenging. Yang worked as Messenger to the group due to his appearance being the least threatening of the two. With Forge being the muscle and Frost being the brain, the three set out on a quest of fame, riches, and most importantly, booty. In that order. And, not the booty you're thinking of. One day, in the Everfree, Trace came across a disguised Changeling by the name of Trace - a terrorist, whom was disguising himself as a Royal Guard. When Yang smelled the Changeling behind his disguise and fought the Changeling, Forge accidentally set off the explosive device the Changeling was cooking, decimating a large section of the evergree in destructive green fire. Distracted by the loss of his creation, Yang went in for the kill on the changeling, who was stunned by a lightning bolt from Frost. Going behind his passive ways, Trace was killed by the hand of Yang, who sank his fangs into his neck. Using loot recovered from previous raids, Frost and Co. Settled in the Rural outskirts of Ponyville in a run down barn, where they hoped that the funds they would gain over time would assist in the renovation of the barn. They were approached one morning by a Farmer named Indiana, who revealed himself to be the sole survivor of a Royal Guard expedition into the Diamond Dog stronghold beneath the Barn. With the assistance of a pegasus named Silver Wing, and the marksmanship of Indy, Frost and Co. went on a raid in the Diamond Dog stronghold, which turned out to be the worst mistake in all of their lives. Armed with gas masks and gas grenades, the trio scoured the caverns, with Yang and Indiana providing support from above ground, ready to blow up the top of a large clearing in the cave and swoop in, should things go sour. Which, they did. In a twisted turn of events, Frost was mortally wounded by the Diamond Dogs during the heist, prompting Yang to go on a blind hate fueled-rampage against the dogs, despite being warned not to go lethal. It was a bloodbath, which led to the death of Frost from his wounds. A small funeral procession was held by Frost and Co. over the death of their beloved brother, using the funds that would have been Frost's share to fund for the funeral, and renovate Indiana's barn. At the end of the Funeral, Forge announced his departure from Frost and Co., promising to Yang that he would return some day, when he came back from going North to where the Dragons were Migrating. After that, for the first time, in a very long time, Yang felt alone.
That was, until, he met Silver Sword, the sword-making Earth Pony who had made Yang's signature Naginata. Filled with spiteful vengeance of the raid, Yang took Silver Sword's offer of apprenticeship, hoping to be trained by the sword maker in order to one day enact vengeance against the Diamond Dogs, who were slowly recovering from the Dragons' raid.
But, for Now, Yang lives with Silver Sword, and is considering Mercenary work considering the war going on in the background.
Personality: Originally being some sort of strange pacifist, only fighting when his life was in danger, Yang's whole mentality on life was changed following his encounter with Trace, and the death of Frost. He has a natural hatred of Changelings, to prey on and kill them, in some way, but that does not change the fact that he is willing to work with the good ones. Previously relying on Frost and Forge to do most of the fighting, since they were bigger, Yang grew up, and is now capable of fighting by himself. He's willing to take risks and even swing fists to get out of fights, but is still cautious as always. He loves ponies and embraces their culture, but understands most of them, mostly the politicians, can be jerks. He is most comfortable around Dragons.
Number 30 (don't delete)

Name: Silver Sword
Species: Pony (Earth Pony)
Sex: Male
Residence: Silver Sword's shop
Occupation: Sword Maker/Martial artist, Former adventurer
Appearance: I have no real picture for him, so I'll describe him as best as I can in words. Silver Sword is, hence his name, a dark, metallic gray Earth Pony, with a lighter gray mane with even lighter highlights, almost into the white range. His eyes are a plain black, though, he squints. A lot.
Cutie mark: Two Silver Katanas Clashing, with sparks around. This can be ambiguously interpreted as either two swords clashing in battle, or that of a Sword Maker.
Bio: Silver Sword was not born in Canterlot, or Ponyville. Instead, he came from way out East in Haysia, more specificalyl in Neighpon (Japony/Japan). An old guy, Silver Sword migrated west in search of goals not too similar to his new Dragon Apprentice, Yang - that was fame, and riches. Silver Sword saw more combat than the young Dragon, and thus, used his skill with the blade and combat with hoof to defend himself, against wild beast and bandit alike. However, not too far from where his shop would be in the Everfree-Ponyville border, Silver Sword was impaled in the knee by a nasty arrow, which permanently sidelined him from adventuring- but not from his work. Using knowledge gained from a variety of sources, Silver Sword built his shop, gaining his wealth off of selling swords to adventurers and collectors, and making swords for the Royal Guards in canterlot, on a regular basis. One of his creations- a Naginata, was used by Yang to fight several Diamond Dogs in the pits of a massive Diamond Dog stronghold.
Silver Sword came across a dragon named Yang, who sat alone burying his lost brother. By the looks of this Dragon, Silver Sword could tell that he was distressed, and angered by something in the past. In response, Silver Sword offered the dragon a job- Take up a job as an apprentice in his shop, and train in his ways of combat, to better himself as an individual, and enact revenge on the Diamond Dogs for what they had done.
Personality: Serious, cunning, and rarely sarcastic, Silver Sword is the strong, silent type, whose words are described as being just as shark as his swords, which are known to cut through blocks of wood. He is rarely sarcastic, but when he does crack a joke, it usually sends people rolling on the floor, dead or crying of laughter.
Voice Actor (jokes): Ken Watanabe
Number 30 (don't delete)

And now, my new guy.. Hope I can do this..

Name: Rex
Species: Diamond Dog
Sex: Male
Residence: Now nomadic with a larger group of Diamond Dogs, who were driven out of their original stronghold to another Diamond Dog mine by a certain group of Dragons and ponies.
Occupation: Miner/Bandit
Appearance: Here. Sauce
Cutie mark: Ditto with Yang. Notably has a scar on his belly from where Yang slashed him with his Naginata.
Bio: Rex had taken life by the scruff of its neck. He had it going, before that fateful day where the raid happened- He assumed a large number of gems, diamonds, loot, and precious stones from previous raids as a younger pup, and even sported the old armor of a Diamond Dog who perished by the hand of the previous Royal Guard expedition. All that fame changed when the raid happened, not because the two dragons and one armed pony entering killed his family, but because the ceiling of the main cave had collapsed on him. Lucky to be spared by the falling Rocks, Rex met directly in combat with a black dragon he'd come to know by "The Dark One", sporting a nasty Naginata slick with the blood of his brethren. Armed with only a Scimitar and the armor of his fallen bretheren, Rex and Yang fought for a long time, with Yang coming out as the supposed victor by slashing Rex along the chest with the blade of his Naginata. Rex was not killed by this, but rather, escaped, along with a few of his other brethren, who fled deeper into the Stronghold to another Diamond Dog settlement, via tunnel. Overcome with the loss of his brethren by the hand of the dragons, Rex, the son of the original leader of the now ruined and empty Stronghold, took command of the Diamond Dogs living in their new settlement, and made it his ultimate goal to exact his revenge on the Dragon, whom had done him his injury before.
Personality: Being a Diamond Dog, Rex has a natural obsession with shiny things, be it jewels, Diamonds, weapons, and gold. Rex has a hoarding mentality- if he sees something, he wants it, and keeps it in his hoard, which grows in number by each passing day. As the leader of the Diamond Dog group living in their new home, Rex has stepped it up as leader in the place of his deceased father, and uses his hatred for Dragons as a fuel to his emotional fire, both in combat, and his speeches. He treats his Diamond Dogs like none more than common cogs in the system, but, if they do noteworthy acts, or are of higher status, that is when he takes notice.

I haven't participated in any of the other RPs of this series, but, if ya'll don't have any objections, I'd like to join this one. I believe I have a quite interesting character concept, albeit a pretty unusual one.

Name: Philip Blackwing.

Species: Griffin.

Sex: Male.

Residence: Cloudsdale.

Occupation: Aristocrat and pretender monarch.

Appearance: Philip is a large, very physically fit, black griffin; he typically wears a set of lightweight black metal armor and a golden crown.

Cutie mark: He is a filthy griffin; he doesn't have a cutie mark.

Bio: Philip was born into one of the most prestigious aristocratic families of the Griffin Kingdom, the Blackwing Clan, nobles and landowners for centuries, granted titles of nobility and a large estate by King Grover himself. The Blackwings had been a powerful force in griffin politics for many generations, the family producing both warriors of great renown and merchants with impeccable guile and business sense, getting their name from the fact that everyone in the family sported solid black feathers. All throughout griffin history, ever since first becoming nobility, the Blackwing Clan bought up and developed land throughout the Kingdom, establishing businesses of all descriptions, gaining most of their wealth through the establishment of breweries and alcohol distilling, their ever-expanding coffers solidifying their power base in the Kingdom. They were most prestigious, though, not for wealth and land, but for military prowess, with Blackwings distinguishing themselves as some of the most skilled tacticians and strongest warriors in the griffin realms, their ranks filling the higher echelons of the griffin military.

His family was one of the dominant forces of griffin politics for many generations, remaining a very influential voice in the Griffin Kingdom ever since the days of King Grover. Of course, things changed in the Griffin Kingdom once the Idol of Boreas was lost to the abyss, with poverty and despair plaguing the griffin communities; the prosperity of every griffin deteriorated with the loss of the idol, and the old aristocratic families were no exception, the typically bottomless coffers of the Blackwing family taking a hit with the newfound poverty of the griffin peoples, and though they still remained wealthy, the lack of customers with any semblance of real money made it essentially impossible to set up profitable new business ventures, stagnating the economy. The Blackwing Clan resented the economic depression which had been wrought on the land; King Guto's inability to protect the Idol had resulted in economic catastrophe across the land, crippling businesses and crashing the market. The Blackwings had been an economic giant prior to the loss of the Idol; needless to say, they were less than pleased to see their generations-old businesses cease to make profit for them. The real tragedy, though, more than anything, was the loss of support for griffin traditionalism brought about by King Guto's failure; without the Idol of Boreas, each new generation of griffins felt less and less attached to the old order of things, losing their support for the feudal hierarchy, losing their support for the aristocratic traditions which had guided the Kingdom for endless centuries, with the popularity and respect of the Blackwings and their fellow noble families beginning to wane over time, along with the popularity of the King himself.

Philip was born around twenty years after the death of King Guto, the oldest child of his parents (the currents heads of the Blackwing Clan at the time); though the Idol of Boreas was gone, his family continued to steadfastly hold on to old traditions, maintaining a sense of griffin nationalism and pride rivaled by no other griffin, with Philip having had traditionalist and reactionary values instilled in him his entire childhood, his parents strongly emphasizing that he was a noble, entitled to hold land and political power by right of high birth. While the griffin cities had become riddled with poverty since the loss of the Idol, the Blackwing Clan continued to remain quite wealthy, even if their wealth had deteriorated with the diminished quantity of griffins wealthy enough to purchase their goods; as would be expected for a child born into a wealthy clan of aristocrats, Philip was afforded the finest education money could buy, being trained from childhood in the arts of combat, noble etiquette, and stewardship, and he was likewise afforded every luxury one could imagine, being the heir to the family's extensive land holdings. He excelled in his studies, and by the time he reached adulthood he had become a very skilled fighter and a quite competent steward, with an unparalleled sense of refinement and poise. He was fully capable of taking over as head of the family, having all the skills necessary for someone of his stature, and he did take over as head of the family when his parents died, around the time he turned twenty.

Seeing the destitute state of the Griffin Kingdom, seeing the rampant poverty that plagued the land, seeing all the problems that had arisen since the Idol was lost, and seeing that King Guto II had failed to properly solve these problems, Philip, once the family lands and fortune were in his claws, decided it was high time to do something about it. King Guto had been a failure of a monarch, unable to defend the greatest treasure the Griffin Kingdom had ever acquired, and, in Philip's mind, this meant that the royal family's right to rule had expired the day it lost the Idol of Boreas. As far as Philip was concerned, the Griffin Kingdom would remain in an indefinite state of poverty so long as the current royal family continued to sit on the throne, and King Guto II's inability to resolve the economic crisis solidified Philip's resolve that the current ruling house had lost their right to rule. The only way to end the rampant poverty, Philip was certain, was to force King Guto II off the throne and create a new royal family. With this philosophy that the royal family had placed a curse on the Griffin Kingdom firmly solidified in his mind, Philip decided that he must fight Guto II and raise and army to take the throne for himself, thus ending the curse and allowing prosperity to return to the Griffin Kingdom. In Philip's mind, there was nobody else more qualified to rule than the Blackwing Clan, and he was the head of the family, making him the most eligible candidate to become King.

Seeing no alternative, Philip publicly denounced Guto II, publicly stating that the royal family's right to rule had expired, agitating throughout the country, planting anti-Guto sentiment in every town he went, preaching a message that the King had placed a curse on the Griffin Kingdom and must be removed from power. The griffin community had been wrought with poverty and destitution for many years, ever since Guto I had lost the Idol; many of them, particularly the older generations, were desperate for some kind of solution to bring back the Kingdom's prosperity, and Philip's message that the current royal family had cursed the Griffin Kingdom quickly began to gain traction. It didn't take long for Philip to gain a large base of supporters, his aristocratic background making him a valid contender for the throne in the eyes of many; after two weeks of spreading revolutionary sentiment, Philip used his family fortune to outfit a series of militia units from the ranks of his supporters, raising up an army with which to depose Guto II. An army following him, Philip marched on Griffonstone to end the plague that was the royal family.

Of course, word had spread quickly throughout the Griffin Kingdom about a revolution in the works, and Guto II had assembled his army to fight Philip's forces and defend his regime. Heavy fighting erupted throughout Griffonstone, with Philip assaulting the city with his forces, gunfire filling the city. The fighting in Griffonstone lasted for days, with revolutionaries from every corner of the Griffin Kingdom flocking to Philip's banner to seize the throne and end the curse Guto had put upon the griffin realms; much destruction was wrought upon the city, and many lives were lost. After just over a week, Guto II's forces were routed from the city, defections in the army (led by the Blackwings who filled the officer corps) contributing greatly to Philip's victory. Guto and his loyalists fled Griffonstone, Philip taking control of the city; with the castle under his control, Philip immediately declared himself King of the Griffins. A spectacular coronation ceremony was held in the city, with Philip being formally crowned as King, a great step forward in cementing his legitimacy as a claimant to the throne.

Things escalated further after King Philip's coronation, with more fighting breaking out throughout the countryside between those loyal to Guto II and those backing the claim of Philip. Wasting little time, King Philip went on the offensive with his forces, marching throughout the Kingdom to take control of the smaller griffin towns and destroy the rest of the loyalist forces. The griffin civil war quickly turned into an incredibly destructive conflict on a large scale, with revolutionaries and loyalists battling in every town, the entire country becoming a giant battleground between King Philip and King Guto II. Throughout the first three weeks of the conflict, the revolutionaries gained a lot of ground against Guto II's forces, though the revolutionary advance gradually became more and more bogged down by loyalist resistance, eventually coming to a halt with just under half the country falling under their occupation. King Philip adopted a very aggressive strategy against Guto II's army, striking them with every resource available, launching constant offensives against the loyalist forces, his family fortune funding total war against the loyalists. It was successful for a time, but the nonstop fighting quickly whittled away the numbers of Philip's army.

After two and a half months of civil war, with Philip's forces gradually becoming smaller and smaller, Guto II's forces regained the upper hand, retaking the countryside and launching an assault to retake Griffonstone. The fighting lasted six days, with King Philip fighting with everything at his disposal to hold onto the capital, but, ultimately, Philip's forces were not enough to hold on to the crown. Running out of soldiers to fight on the front lines and ammunition to keep up large-scale fighting, King Philip's forces were routed, the city falling back into the hands of Guto II. Though support for Philip's claim still lingered throughout the country, the revolutionaries had run out of resources to keep up the fight, and the civil war was brought to an end, the battling fading away after King Guto retook Griffonstone.

Refusing to recognize that he had failed to win his war for the crown, King Philip had his servants and the rest of his family members gather everything of value from the family estates and flee the country to Equestria to continue the war effort. Many of his family members had died in the war, and much of his family fortune had been exhausted funding the civil war, but King Philip's claim to the crown lived on, setting up a new base of operations in Cloudsdale and the surrounding area with the intent to set up a series of business ventures to fund a future war to retake Griffonstone, and end Guto II's reign for good. It has only been around a week since King Philip arrived in Cloudsdale with his family and servants, with Philip having purchased a large house to serve as the family estate for the time being. The ongoing war between the ponies and the changelings, of course, made Equestria a somewhat less than ideal location to seek refuge, but, at the same time, the war presented ample opportunities to gain profit with which to restart the war effort.

Personality: Philip is a traditionalist to the core, and believes steadfastly in aristocratic hierarchy. Being raised with the strictest of noble etiquettes, Philip never uses any kind of profanity, never speaking a single word that could be construed as inappropriate (not according to griffin standards, anyway), nor does he do anything in an unmannered fashion, taking great care to maintain a sophisticated appearance, acting with politeness and manners wherever he goes. He considers himself to be inherently superior to most others, his aristocratic birth being a source of pride for him, only considering fellow nobles to be his equals; needless to say, he abhors the concept of egalitarianism, believing strongly in special privileges for the highborn elite of society. He is a griffin of honor, believing that his noble descent hold him to a higher standard than common peasants, never failing to deliver on a promise, and never betraying a friend. With that said, he is willing to do a lot for the sake of reclaiming his rightful place on the griffin throne, having no particular adversity to the concept of working with less than savory figures to achieve his ultimate goals. In Philip's mind, restoring the old order comes is a priority which takes precedence over all over tasks, and must be achieved, regardless of the cost.

All throughout the monarchist era of griffin history, the Blackwing Clan bought up and developed land throughout the Kingdom, establishing businesses of all descriptions, gaining most of their wealth through the establishment of breweries and alcohol distilling, their ever-expanding coffers solidifying their power base in the Kingdom. They were most prestigious, though, not for wealth and land, but for military prowess, with Blackwings distinguishing themselves as some of the most skilled tacticians and strongest warriors in the griffin realms, their ranks filling the higher echelons of the griffin military.

His family was one of the dominant forces of griffin politics for many generations, up until the collapse of the monarchy and the dissolution of the Griffin Kingdom with the end of King Guto's reign. The Blackwing Clan did everything in their power to maintain the old order of the griffin lands, being the most ultra-reactionary elements in griffin society, attempting to restore the griffin monarchy and recreate a centralized griffin government, but their efforts failed to gain traction amongst the public and anarchy reigned supreme amongst the griffins, the government ceasing to exist for all intents and purposes. The Blackwings, of course, held onto their old land, and continued to address themselves with the titles of nobility granted to them by King Grover, though the collapse of central authority in the Kingdom and the poverty growing throughout the griffin realms was something that affected them adversely. With griffin nationalism and pride deteriorating with the abolishment of the monarchy, the old order and the aristocracy became increasingly irrelevant with each new generation, the younger griffins starting to view the noble families as nothing more than remnants of a bygone era.

It didn't take long for griffins to object to King Philip's ascension; the younger generations, especially, objected to the concept of centralized government, preferring the anarchic status-quo which left them free from taxation and government regulations. Needless to say, he had much opposition to his reign; while the oldest griffins were eager to see the old order restored, very few other griffins outside of a handful of aristocratic families supported his ascension, and the younger griffins held much opposition to the government being restored.

Mere hours after Philip declared himself King of the Griffins, anarchist and liberal revolutionaries took up arms in opposition to the reestablishment of a griffin monarchy, and heavy fighting broke out throughout Griffonstone and the surrounding countryside between the monarchist militias funded by King Philip and those who stood in opposition to having a central government imposed upon them. Warfare filled the griffins lands for weeks, with Philip and his supporters fighting with every resource at their disposal to neutralize the opposition and firmly solidify the restored Griffin Kingdom; many griffins died fighting, and much destruction was wrought upon the griffin lands. Ultimately, Philip's attempt to seize the griffin crown were unsuccessful, and his forces were defeated; he had a lot of money, but not a lot of supporters, and was unable, at the end of the day, to recruit a large enough army to secure the country and put down the insurrectionists who opposed him. So do you intend Blackwing to be a defense contractor directly doing business with the Equestrian government, or is he more of a travelling salesgriffin exploiting ponies' fears about the war? Not that it matters, because it would create interesting situations either way, but I'm just curious.

FYI, Flutters and I have discussed that Equestria might try to get the Griffin Kingdom on its side, and this Philip would definitely be a bit of an entertaining thorn in the side.

Sorry, but in this universe, the monarchy still exist, with the current king trying hard to keep things together. However, with everything gone to Tartarus, the monarchy is considered to be a shadow of it's former self.

Somehow, I was expecting to hear something along those lines. Damn it, I even took the time to skim over some of the past RPs of this series looking for anything grififn-related, and yet I somehow managed to miss the one post contradicting the show's canon on the government (and the lackthereof).

Is the general concept still acceptable, at least? If I edited my application to account for King Guto II, and changed the details and reasoning a bit, would it be acceptable then?

If you edit to include King Guto II, you'll be good. He's a weak leader and somewhat humble, but would do anything for his people when push comes to shove...

Alright, I've completely revamped my application; now, unless this universe also retcons the Idol of Boreas being lost, everything should be well and good.

No, that part hasn't been retconned. You should be good now.

Fascist Russian Empire wrote:I haven't participated in any of the other RPs of this series, but, if ya'll don't have any objections, I'd like to join this one.

Name: Aganir Duskmane
Species: Unicorn
Sex: Male
Residence: Aganir's house, southern Everfree
Occupation: Rogue Wizard
Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/EmKlSwo.png
Cutie mark: A black candle lit with a green flame.
Bio: Aganir was born to a decently wealthy family in Canterlot, though not part of the nobility his family never had financial issues.
When he became of age, Aganir was allowed entry to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns where he begun studying magic with great enthousiasm, despite having to leave his family behind. This never bothered him though, he was too busy studying magic to care.

Over time, he became increasingly obsessed with magic and knowledge, often spending entire nights studying without rest, which eventually caused concern among his teachers. Aganir ignored their words however and continued his exploits, diving deeper and deeper into the world of spells and incantations. He begun to experiment to see what he was capable of, pushing himself hard, determined to hone his abilities so that he may one day become the greatest wizard Equestria had ever seen, more powerful even than the legendary Starswirl the Bearded. What started out as mere enthousiasm quickly escalated into plain fanatiscism, as Aganir pushed himself harder and harder every time, often stopping only when he burned out. Concern grew amongst his teachers and fellow students and attempts were made to persuade him to take it down a notch, to which Aganir initially agreed, but it lasted only a few weeks. He could not resist his hunger for knowledge and power. DSisregarding the warnings of the others, he continued his ceaseless pursuit for knowledge.

Though many worried about his obcession, none denied he had great potential, especially for a Unicorn of such a young age. Aganir was convinced that he should learn all about magic he could if he wished to truly unlock his full potential. He began studying all sorts of different magiks and creatures with affinity to magic. He once even tried to capture a live Timberwolf, an attempt he failed and barely walked away with his life. He blamed this failure on himself for not being powerful enough, further fueling his fanatic studying and practicing. He extended his field further, trying to learn more about different schools of magic. He scoured the school's library, learning things about conjuration, pyromancy, illusion magic and much, much more. His devotion once caught the attention of her majesty Princess Celestia himself, who commended his eagerness but also told him to take care not to push himself too hard. More words he ignored.

Then, one day, he sought to study more.. darker forms of magic, claiming that magic is magic, regardless of its type or origin and that he should study it all. Of course, he was denied this. They told him it was far too dangerous, that it would only cause him harm. Aganir however, merely feigned agreement, he still wished to know, needed to know, so he begun his studies in secret.
They didn't last long. He was discovered and expelled from the school, barely avoiding being banished from Equestria altogether.

Aganir felt betrayed. He was convinced they were trying to sabotage his efforts, to prevent him from becoming too powerful out of fear for him. He scolded them and left. Instead of returning to his family in Canterlot, he started to travel the world, in pursuit of more knowledge. He visited many places, like the Zebralands, or the home of the Dragons aswell as the supposedly cursed Everfree Forest. During his travels he met a rather peculiar pony and befriended him(see Boris' app). Together they eventually settled at the southern edge of Everfree Forest, between Ponyville and Appleloosa, far away from civilization to avoid spying eyes, but close enough to keep in contact with the rest of the world, although a bit limited.
Personality: Aganir is very arrogant and is slow to admit he's wrong. He believes that aquiring knowledge is the purpose of life and is constantly studying or experimenting, learning new things all the time. He dislikes the authorities greatly, mostly due to him sometimes carrying out rather.. questionable experiments. He cares generally little for other ponies, unless they prove themselves valueable to him, even then he is slow to share his vast knowledge with others. Morals mean little to Aganir, to him there's only power and his desire to get more power, and he is prepared to remove anypony who would stand between him and his quest for knowledge.

Name: Boris Dullhoof
Species: Earth Pony
Sex: Male
Residence: Aganir's house, southern Everfree
Occupation: Assistant/Muscle for Aganir
Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/3rNaYpB.png
Cutie mark: A jug of moonshine
Bio: Boris was never a smart pony, Boris knew that and was fine with it. What he lacked is smarts he made up for in strength. As the only son of a farmer, he lived most of his early life on his father's farm. His mother died during childbirth, and they generally had little contact with neighbours. Together, he and his pa cared for the farm, it wasn't big but it was enough to make a living. Boris was generally contempt with working on the farm, the hard work in the fields made him strong and enduring and sharing a glass of cider with his pa at the end of a hard day's work was quite satisfying.

All that changed when his father fell ill, however. His pa got horribly sick and eventually passed away, leaving Boris alone with the small farm.
For a few years Boris worked the farm alone, but the constant solitude saddened him deeply, so he decided to leave the farm behind and travel through Equestria, in search of excitement and new people to meet. However as he traveled his low intellect and lack of charisma proved to be a bane on his existance. Many would try to take advantage of his stupidity and there were but few he could get along with. Often he'd end up coming to blows in some bar or another, never backing down from a fight if one began.

One day, he caught the attention of a fellow traveler, Aganir Duskmane noticed him, a fellow exile of sorts. They soon become friends and started to travel together. The two of them formed an ideal pair, with Aganir's wits and knowledge combined with Boris' raw strength they could overcome anything, besides Boris was great at lugging Aganir's bags around, so there's that too.

The two had some minor adventures together before eventually settling at the southern edge of Everfree Forest. Now, Boris helps Aganir with his experiments and many simple tasks like grocery shopping and scaring off annoying salesmen.
Personality: Boris is, bluntly put, plain dumb, often to the irritation of Aganir. However he is very strong, even for an Earth Pony and generally kindhearted. He has a great love for alcohol, resembled by his cutiemark and often tries brewing his own ale, sometimes accidentally using up Aganir's stock of ingredients for potions and rituals. Boris regularly visites either Appleloosa or Ponyville, to buy supplies they can't aquire themselves and to bring back news of regional happenings to Aganir. Meanwhile Aganir tries to teach Boris some basic things, like writing and reading(Boris never learned this at the farm).

Flutters has sent me a draft of his first post, so I assume we'll be starting soon. I'll do some externship work and then get my edits to him tonight.
I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.
