Being located in a nation with little in the way of oil reserves but still having gas reserves and plenty of coal, Project New Era was left with a conundrum, where to get our fuel from?, however looking to the future as Oil is a finite resource, Project New Era turned to the past, adopting the Fischer-Tropsch process to produce synthetic petrol and diesel fuel as well as fully synthetic lubricating oil and other fuel grades that are traditionally made from oil, and now we at Project New Era are now bringing that source of fuel to the open market.
In addition to the Fischer - Tropsch process, Auroran Fuels also produces biofuels, produced from rapeseed oil, recycled cooking oils and algae, all of this is blended to produce a high performance, clean burning diesel substitute, this is then sold either as neat fuel or blended to the Fischer-Tropsch synthetic diesel, making for an environmentally friendly fuel.
How it works:
The Fischer - Tropsch process works by bonding Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide to produce liquid hydrocarbon chains, the basis of all oil products from plastics to fuels such as diesel and gasoline and uses a number of feedstocks such as coal or carbon rich biomass as a source of carbon. This produces a hydrocarbon gas which is then converted to liquid using a GTL process in order to produce extremely clean fuels, especially diesel which is not just low sulphur but ZERO sulphur, resulting in a clear liquid as opposed to a liquid fuel that has a tint of yellow in it from sulphur contamination.
To produce gasoline, the MTG process is used, this is where coal or biomass, though Natural Gas can be used, is gasified to produce syngas, synthetic gas, which is then run through a clean up process, from this processing stage it is reacted over a catalyst to produce Methanol, useful as a fuel in its own right but using the MTG process originally pioneered in the 1970s, the Methanol fuel is refined further into Gasoline suitable for use as a transportation fuel. being sourced from Methanol also means that the level of pollutants is lower than oil refined gasoline.
Environmental benefits:
Traditional fuels, such as gasoline and diesel are rich in impurities, some are added such as lead in the form of leaded gasoline as used in older cars as well as aircraft engines in the form of avgas, but also impurities such as sulphur. These impurities are responsible for the hazes that feature in many cities such as Los Angeles and Athens where hot temperatures and UV light react with the impurities in the exhaust fumes to produce the thick haze which over time mixes with rain to have a slight acidic content, and we all know what Acid Rain does.
Fischer Tropsch sourced fuels do not put strain on existing oil reserves and so do not put environmentally sensitive areas at risk when the oil is extracted, so incidents like the Deepwater Horizons spill and the Prince William Sound oil spill which caused a significant amount of enviromental damage, which will pose a risk to the environment for years, possibly decades to come, however the modern world is based around the internal combustion engine, some capable of running on LPG, Methanol, Ethanol or bio diesel but the majority still require conventional fuels such as Gasoline and mineral diesel, both of which have their own impurities which are a latent reminant from the oil in which the fuel came from, Fischer - Tropsch process sourced fuel lacks these impurities.

In order to provide employment and a clean supply of fuel, Project New Era can set up a fischer - tropsch refinery within your nation in order to provide fuel that conforms to the highest standards regarding impurities. This fuel can also be blended if required by local legislation with Ethanol or other chemical as part of an emissions reduction program
