Columbian Tecnocracy Wires All TMC Nations

Postby Columbian Technocracy » Mon May 30, 2016 9:22 am

This is a role play for The Military Commonwealth region only.

President Andres Fernandez sits in his office late one night with his secretary taking notes. Long has the Columbian technocracy been somewhat isolated from the rest of the world. After several hours of taking notes, she leaves the President alone in his office with his thoughts and begins typing up a final draft of his messages. The following message is then delivered to the communications office and is sent to all nations in TMC.

"To the leader of (Insert your nation here.), I President Andres Fernandez of the Columbian Technocracy invite you and a delegation of your nation to attend a economical peace talks in the capital city of Bogotá. It is my belief that our nations could benefit one another economically if we were to work together and were to maintain a peaceful relation. I am aware that our nations have had no interactions up to now, but the world is changing and we should work together in welcoming what will come together hand in hand. The Columbian technocracy has much to offer in exports as well as culture and entertainment. I hope to be able to work with you towards the future.

Regards,
President Andres Fernandez, Columbian Technocracy"

After receiving the telegram from the Columbian Technocracy, Chancellor Martin Murray is quick to respond back;

Dear President Andres Fernandez of the Columbian Technocracy,

Ruthena would gladly like to attend this diplomatic summit. Unfortunately due to the great distance from our nation to yours, I, Chancellor Murray will not be able to attend for I will be away from my post for much too long. However, Emperor Sage Alexander will happily attend this meeting in my place. I hope that this meeting will be beneficial to both our nations, both politically and economically. I look forward to having good relations with your nations, and any other friendly nation that sends a delegate.

Sincerely,
Chancellor Murray of the Empire of Ruthena

Emperor Sage Alexander to set sail to Colombia in order to bring Ruthena out of it's isolation, and hopefully secure trade deals that will increase the wealth back in the Empire. The Emperor boards one of the Royal Navy's fastest ships, the fast cruiser Savannah, which is escorted by a destroyer squadron of three ships. The naval convoy makes good time crossing the 16,000 kilometer distance between the two continents, and soon the Savannah is anchored at the port in Tumaco, with her escort squadron anchored three kilometers away from shore. Emperor Alexander and ten Sabraguards enter the port city to locate a guide, making them the first Ruthen's to set foot on Columbian soil. Once locating a guide, the group of twelve (The Emperor, guide, and ten soldiers) depart on horse back for the capitol of Bogotá. Along the way surprised citizens seeing eleven westerners clad in khaki uniforms, wearing bush hats, sporting rifles and riding on horseback, would think an enemy invasion has happened. However the cheerful guide is quick to quell their fears, saying that "The Ruthen royalty is here to make friends with Columbia!" News of the Emperor arriving in Columbia spreads like wild fire as he and his Sabraguards make their way towards the capitol through the jungles of Columbia.

President Ramses Bakari to President Andres Fernandez

The President of the ADL is fast to respond to the wire from Columbia with the following message.

"My friend, thank you for the invitation to your nation for these talks. However, as you are aware, the ADL is very far from Columbia and as such, I am unable to attend personally due to some prior engagements I have made with another nation. This being said, my son, Ambassador Bahahdur Bakari will be attending in my stead. I thank you for this opportunity and may your god watch over you daily.

Regards,
President Ramses Bakari of the African Defense League"

Upon sending the wire, the President dispatches his son on the fastest cruiser available with an escort squadron of three destroyers. Long has the ADL been in need of trading partners outside of the African continent and this is a perfect opportunity to do so. The fleet makes great timing across the ocean without hitting any storms. The destroyers anchor three kilometers off the coast and the A.D.S. Cairo docks in the port itself. Two dozen Egyptian guards disembark and one of them spends some time finding someone to guide and translate for them. Once he finds a young man willing and able to do so, the two dozen guards with Ambassador Bahadur (All on horseback.) make their way to the Presidential Palace in the capital city of Bogata. As they travel, the Ambassador stops at one point and collects a handful of soil and puts it into a glass jar and smiles when he does so. The guards and guide look at him oddly and he laughs and says "It's the first time I have left Egypt. I wanted something that I could take home and would last forever." the guards shrug and as they keep moving, the guide tells the men and women what is what. They're all amazed with some of the reptile and avian species in Columbia.

Sir Edward III arrives in Columbia with an entourage of royal guards, aids, and translators. As they begin their trek to the delegation meeting many Colombians watch them with awe seeing clothing, jewelry, and other things that only the very rich and powerful ever wear. The UK delegation was the last to arrive as Edward insisted on seeing the local sights across the country looking with enthusiasm trying to take in another countries culture.

Emperor Sage Alexander and his men are treated warmly and are offered food, drinks and small tokens by the locals. No one seems overly surprised by the weapons as the local military also carries rifles, sidearms and towed machine guns. But the strange looking uniforms and skin toned people are truly unique and standing out. One thing that the Emperor Sage Alexander and his men notice about Columbia is the extremely clean communities and the beauty of the land. The desire to live with the land and not overdevelop it can be seen as can the careful planning of roads and other things.

Ambassador Bahahdur receive a similar welcome by the locals and notice the same things. All in all, a very warm welcome is given and all are not treated poorly or strangely at all.

Sir Edward III and his delegation are met with warm welcomes but not as much awe as they had been expecting. The locals are all familiar with world cultures through newspapers and the trade ships that come through. It isn't uncommon to see gold and silver on people in the C.T. but the amount that these ones wear is...well quite unusual. The guide tells Sir Edward III that the trip is a direct route and should only take a day. There's many villages between here and the capital that they could see and stay at for the night as well.

Berlin, Germany

Reichskanzler Harald Krüger leads the daily meeting of Parliament at the Reichstag, mostly discussing economic issues.

An aide rushes in, and presents a telegram from the Colombian Technocracy. Quickly, the chancellor terminates the meeting, and packs up to head for the nation. A telegram is sent back to the Colombian Technocracy.

Code: Select all
DEUTSCHE TELEGRAMM BEIDENUNG
-------------------
Addressed To: President Andres Fernandez, Colombian Technocracy
-------------------
Hallo, President Fernandez. We warmly thank you for the invitation to this meeting, and as such our chancellor will be attending the talks. The ship we have dispatched for the meeting is the D.B.S Kaiser Wilhelm I.

Warm regards.

Berlin Central Railway Station

The station is shutdown as the Chancellor boards his private steam train, the Kanzler Express. After a short trip, the train arrives into Hamburg Port. the Chancellor steps off, and boards the D.B.S Kaiser Wilhelm I. Being named after Kaiser Wilhelm, who unified Germany, the ship was one of the most elegant of probably all modern time. Being a steamship, it could easily do the trip to Colombia. Plated heavily with gold on both the inside and out, and the most luxury fittings money can buy at the time, the ship was obviously fit for the leader of the German Empire.

Finally, the ship leaves port and turns towards the English Channel.

The D.B.S. Kaiser makes good time across the sea with smooth waters and strong tail winds. The Chancellor and the crew notice as they pull into port that there's several other nations ships docked a few km out as well as at the docks themselves. When the Chancellor and his entourage depart the ship, a man speaking broken German approaches them...

"Good days sirs. I am Pedro Herrera and I see you come by sheep. You must...ummm...be here for...discussions with El Presidente? I...have twenty-four strong horses which can make speed fast for jew. I..." he taps his chest "...take you to El Presidente no?"

The man is dressed nicely. Definitely not poor but also not rich. Handsome, tall...maybe 22 or 23 years old.

The Chancellor, somewhat drowsy after the trip, steps off and onto Colombian Soil. Him and his economic and military advisers who form his entourage walk up and shake Mr. Herrara's hand.

Seeing that his German is a bit off, the Chancellor decides to respond in perfect Spanish, baffling most of his entourage, as none of them knew that the chancellor spoke Spanish.

However, he learnt the language in his youth, spending quite a bit of his early life in La Corona, Spain.

"Yes, my friend, we have been invited by El Presidente to your fine nation. Yes, the horses look great, it's been a while since I have worked on my equestrian, but we might aswell, ha." he would respond in Spanish.

Finally the chancellor would step on the horse without putting any gear on, mostly because he was wearing his ceremonial military uniform, and not even a cannonball can pass through that sturdy helmet.

His entourage however, shiver at the thought of riding horses. After the Chancellor shows them the basics, they head off, with members of his entourage making many basic mistakes, and causing the chancellor to exercise all of his self control to not burst out laughing.

As the Emperor and his guards travel trough the small Latin nation, the major thing that sticks out to them is how the people have managed to coexist with nature and live in a clean environment. This is something the Emperor takes great note of, and it is certainly something he will bring up to the Chancellor and the Assembly when he returns back to Ruthena. And of course the other thing that sticks out to them is how kind and generous the people are. The group spends their nights dining and lodging with happy families eager to learn about Ruthena, and also show off their own country. After a very enjoyable journey from the coast to Bogotá, Emperor Alexander and his group enter the capitol city outskirts. One thing the Emperor worries about, is the fact that his group of ten Sabraguards are made up of both males and females. Back in Ruthena, it is entirely normal for women to be serving in the Royal Armed Forces and to work jobs normally considered fit for men, however the Columbian Technocracy and any other nations present at the meeting may not take kindly to women being seen as equals to men.

Surprised by the Chancellor speaking Spanish, Pedro responds to him "Yes sir!" and as he readies the horses, he says "You know sir, you fine people look most impressive. My people haven't seen so much gold and silver and beautiful uniforms ever. When I was in the Presidents guard, we had nice uniforms...but nothing like yours." As he readies the horses, Pedro watches the Germans struggle with getting on the horses and will offer hep when needed.

As the Emperor goes down the streets of Bogotá with his Sabraguards, he notices that even for being a large city it is clean. Wide streets, busy commerce and the people seem happy. Male and female police officers can be seen patrolling the streets. As they pass a wide street, they see a group of soldiers towing machine guns heading northwest and about a third of them were women (including the commanding officer.). As they near the capital building, they see an honor guard has formed to welcome them. The President stands tall near the front of the honor guard. And as the Emperor and his escorts are spotted, everyone snaps to attention and salutes.

Sir Edward III shakes the hand of the President saying "I'm truly sorry the King cannot attend he is busy in Europe as I'm sure you have heard. But the King sends his regards and wishes much will come from these talks. Now if you excuse me I need to change, the outfit I'm wearing is not appropiate for the meeting. The guide then leads Edward to the changing room.

Ryoma of Hoshido is welcomed into port and is met by several men. The obvious man in charges gives a deep, respectful bow to the visiting Samurai.

In Japanese- "Good day sirs. I am Juan Montoya, Director of National Security for Columbia. I welcome you all. The President sent me to take you to the capital. We're less than a days travel to Bogotá. I have horses ready for everyone."

He motions to a number of horses that are already saddled and ready to go. The three soldiers move aside for the guests to select their horses to ride to the capital on.

Emperor Alexander's worries are lessened at the sight of women police officers and soldiers. The nations of Ruthena and the Columbian Technocracy are highly similar, they both have very progressive civil rights, friendly people, and a care for mother nature. This diplomatic meeting will most likely be very beneficial to both nations. As the group nears the capital building, they spot the President and the colorful uniforms of the Honor Guard. After riding up to the capitol building, the Emperor and his group of ten Sabraguards dismount their horses and return the salutes. Six of the guards remain to care for the horses, while the Emperor and four of his guards make their way towards President. The Emperor happily shaking the President's hand while his four Sabraguards stand cheerfully behind him.

"I have to say Mr. President, I have certainly enjoyed visiting your nation," The Emperor says in reasonably good Spanish. He is perfectly fluent in Italian, (both languages are very similar,) and he has been studying Spanish since he boarded the Savannah to reach the Columbian Technocracy. Thus, he has an okay understanding of Spanish and having been practicing the language the last few days with the local people, he can hold his own in a conversation with a fluent Spanish speaker.

President Andres Fernandez was smiling wide as Emperor Alexander and his troops approached him. Shaking the Emperor's hand...

President Andres Fernandez- "Hello my friend and welcome to Columbia. Please forgive the lack of trains but we are currently in the process of modernizing the country but it is tough when you don't want to damage the land itself. I am most pleased that you like our small nation. We try very hard to keep it beautiful and in return, it is very bountiful for us. On behalf of my people, we hope you will accept this as a gift of our appreciation for you and your people being willing to come all this way."

He nods to a woman who brings over a wooden box and opens it and reveals twin Model 1900 pistols with pearl grips and plated in gold. There's 2 clips each pistol inside as well as well as slots for 36 48 bullets already filled. She holds it out to the Emperor. As the Emperor looks at them, the grips are etched with the flags of his homeland and that of Columbia's and has the date of the meeting under them. The box itself is made of rose wood and lined with red velvet and has gold hinges and clasp.

President Andres Fernandez- "Made specifically for this occasion. You will find every man and woman of age in Columbia with a Model 1900 and a Machete."

The President smiles hoping that the Emperor appreciates finely crafted firearms and secretly hopes so even more considering the gunsmith who made all of the pistols for the visitors is his own daughter who is currently waiting in the crowd watching in the front row.

Juan Montoya- "Thank you sir. It is my pleasure. And we are savages when compared to your peoples long, rich culture. The President hopes by inviting other cultures to our land, we as a people will learn and grow from the experience. Simply by stepping off that ship sir, you've opened the eyes of so many of our men and women. Something that they will never forget. If anything, we thank you for honoring us with the experience."

Juan Montoya swiftly mounts his horse as if he was born on horseback. Looking to Ryoma...

Juan Montoya- "These are the fastest horses from my ranch. They will get us there quickly. The saddle bags all have water and food in them should anyone be thirsty or hungry. And I took it upon myself to put in some Montoya Cigars that my wife made recently."

He spurs the horse and it rears up excitedly and then takes off like a bolt of lightning.

Emperor Alexander is struck by the beauty of the elegantly made twin, golden plated, pearl gripped Model 1900 handguns. The flags of the great nations of Ruthena and the Columbian Technocracy are a wonderful touch too. The President's daughter is certainly a good gunsmith, being able to wow the Emperor of a nation that breathes guns with her skill.

"Geez, these are some the best looking pistols I have ever seen. I mean, these are just beautifully made," The Emperor sounds giddy, like a little kid that just got his favorite toy on Christmas or his Birthday.

"You tell whoever made these guns, that I wish the gunsmiths back in Ruthena had skill like this," He says as he gently touches the Ruthen flag that has been beautifully etched into the pearl grips. The Emperor's statement is quite powerful, the Empire of Ruthena has military deeply embedded into it's culture. While the nation still maintains a very rich and vibrant culture, weapons and war are entrenched in it, thus, several of Ruthena's grand works of art, are in fact, weapons that have been beautifully made, such as the duel pistols the Emperor is holding in his sands. While the pistols are simple, they are very elegant, and to be giving a compliment such as that from the Emperor, is quite the feat.

"I hope our gift to you isn't overshadowed by these magnificent pistols," The Emperor remarks as he closes the box the pistols lay in and hands it to one of his guards, who in turn hands the Emperor a Winchester Model 1895. The favored gun of the Cavalryman in Ruthena, and the elite Sabraguards, the Winchester Model 1895 is Winchester's first lever action repeating rifle that can load box magazine, allowing it to be used by the Ruthen Armed Forces. This gun in particular is plated in silver and features a similar art feature as the pistols. On one side, the flags of Ruthena and the Columbian Technocracy are seen crossed, with the date and place etched under it. On the other side it features a well drawn depiction of the rainforest covered mountains of Columbia. The Emperor presents the rifle to the President with a smile on his face, and the Sabraguard behind him holds a very large wooden box of .30-40 Krag ammunition.

Enough to know to never underestimate you or doubt your combat prowess. We try to keep our communities clean and structured so as to minimize the damage done to nature. President Andres Fernandez- "Thank you very much Emperor. I have been interested in these for a little while now and have been trying to figure out how to procure some for the guards. The etching...absolutely beautiful. I would dare say your smiths are among the finest anywhere. This will be cherished."

He nods to the same woman who takes the rifle and holds it like a trained soldier would and she takes the box of ammunition as well.

President Andres Fernandez- "Please, let us go inside and I will show you around while we discuss things in a relaxed state. The horses will be stabled in the Presidential stables out back and your guards all have rooms here adjoining yours. Food, drinks, entertainment...all is flowing freely."
