Signup thread

This is the signup thread for the inaugural Summer World Paralympic Games, intended to be NS Sport's equivalent of the real-life Paralympic Games. The Games are open to athletes with a physical disability.

The Paralympic Association of Liventia has announced the inaugural Games will take place in the former Olympic host city of Orean, Liventia, which hosted the VIII Games of the Olympiad.

Instructions
Please pay attention and read through the following information very carefully. If there is a problem with your sign-up, it may not be entered and you might need to resubmit your entries.

You should copy and paste the event list in your post and fill in both the nation name, and the trigramme (a three letter code representing your nation). For each sport and each individual event, there is an entry limit. The number in brackets is this limit, for example, a (2) would mean you can only send a maximum of two athletes to that sport or event.

For example, there are 30 athletics events, each of which have an entry limit of 2. However, athletics as a sport also has an entry limit of 30, meaning no nation can enter a full quota of two athletes in each athletics event as this would total 60 entries, above the sport entry limit of 30.

Gender roles are defined for each event: Men's, Women's, Mixed or Open. Open events can be contested by athletes of either gender; mixed events must be formed of teams that include at least one man and one woman. The exception to this is visually impaired events where the entry limit defines 1 athlete and 1 guide: the guide can be of a different gender to the athlete, who must be of the gender assigned to the event.

Where the number of people is specified, such as (1 team of 2) or (1 team of 1 athlete, 1 sighted guide), then you will need to provide two names, separated by a forwards slash. Sighted guides should be the second name; e.g. in the women's 200 metres T11, an entry might be "Pauline Matthews/James Ryan;LEN;50" where James Ryan is Pauline Matthews' male guide.

In sitting volleyball and wheelchair rugby, which simply say (1 team), then you should just enter your nation's name, rather than the names of every single athlete (there will be a roster thread for that purpose).

If you don't have any athletes participating in a particular event, please remove it from your sign-up sheet. Do not 'tag' or add a post and say that you are going to edit in your entry later. If you have any alterations or edits to your sign-up sheet, do so in a new post, or it will be missed.

Signup limits
Each nation has a signup limit of 120 entries, excluding any demonstration events. An “entry” consists of one individual/team entering one event—this means that a skier/guide team in one event counts as a single entry, while a single athlete participating in two events counts as two entries. Each person may enter no more than one puppet nation, and, when entering a puppet, must state who their main nation is. Each user is limited to 180 entries, counting main nations and puppets, as long as neither delegation exceeds 120. Unified teams will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Skill modifiers
Each athlete will be assigned by you a skill between 0 to 100. 0, in this case means, an athlete who has just qualified for the event, and is still pretty decent when compared to the average person. 100 means they are the world's best. The average skill modifier (adding up all the numbers, then dividing by the total amount of athletes) across your entire delegation should be less than or equal to 50. Automatic entries do not contribute to the entry average. Entries may be scaled down if the average is a bit higher, but entries will be outright rejected if the average far exceeds 50.

Please note that you should try to avoid the use of 'min-max' your entries ie. submitting unrealistic delegations of 0s and 100s only, with no numbers in the middle. The Min-Max Avoidance Bonus, used at the Olympics, will be similarly used in the Paralympics, with a slight tweak to make it additional to any existing bonus rather than as a percentage of the whole bonus.

The skill modifier for each athlete/team should be placed under the event you want them to participate in. It should be in the following format: Player Name/Nation;Trigramme;Skill Modifier. Make sure that the trigramme you nominate is consistently used throughout. Use semicolons (;) to delineate between the different name, trigram and skill. Please remember that for team events, the entry name should be 'Athlete A/Athlete B/Athlete C', that is that a forwards slash should separate athlete names, and there are no spaces in between the slashes.

Signup deadline
All delegations should be posted by no later than 00:00 UTC, Wednesday 22 June 2016. Signups after this deadline may be accepted or rejected at my discretion (depending primarily on time and size of delegation). If there is an error in your initial signup post, please indicate specific corrections in a new post instead of editing your existing post. Corrections made after the signup deadline may or may not be accepted, depending on the severity of the change.

The Events
There are 96 events on the calendar. Every event on the calendar was contested at London 2012 IRL, with the exception of paratriathlon and one archery event.

*Please note it is not possible to enter a team that has maxed out the number of athletes allowed by each sport limit (132), as the overall signup limit is 120 entries.

Thanks go to Electrum/Ceni/Saintland and others (and probably myself) for contributing to bits I've ripped off whole for this signup post.

The I Summer World Paralympic Games currently do not have a tentative start date, but will be concluded before signups for the Games of the XI Olympiad close.

Normally I wouldn't accept that signup but as Ariddia has been away from NS Sport and the Olympics/Paralympics for a while, I will accept that signup and manually re-format it.

Please be reminded that the correct signup method is Player Name/Nation;Trigramme;Skill Modifier.

Thanks, all.

With a total surface area of 0.32 sq.km., and a population of just over 400, the Sovereign Village of San Adriano has just one athlete with a disability. She will be proudly representing her country at these games.

Country code: SNA (I had to look that up in the thread of the last Summer Olympics…)

Sorry about that. I haven't got time to fix it right now, but I can go back and do it this evening or tomorrow.

Puppets are covered in the signup post – one puppet per user; total of not more than 180 entries across master and puppet.

I've got no issues with non-humans taking part but please be as realistic as possible, in the circumstances - a pony is not going to fit in a racing wheelchair (your entry for Men's 400m T54).

Please re-post your signup, correcting the following issues:
• The signup format is Athlete/Team;COUNTRYCODE;skill – not Athlete;skill;COUNTRYCODE
• While I appreciate the distinction of human teams and pony teams, they should go in the eventual roster thread; not your signup – it adds to my workload removing all the "(pony team)" extras from the starting list
• Men's Team, Women's Team and Open Team are the event names and should not be removed from the signup. Please enter your teams on a new line (see Electrum's signup for an example).

Will this take place after the NS World Cup and Cup of Harmony?

If so, I will post a sign up later.
