Infection: A zombie RP
In the early hours of March 21st, 2017, a lone police helicopter flew out towards a town in the heart of New Zealand to investigate reports of missing persons. What the officers found was horrifying.
The entire village was vacant save for a few dead bodies. Signs of a struggle were visible everywhere. Something bad had clearly happened- the world just didn't know what. Mere days later, reports of a dangerous disease were popping up across the world. The first major epidemic happened in Brazil, with fourteen patients checking in to hospitals in Rio de Janeiro in just three days. Other mini-epidemics started occurring in places like the Democratic Republic of the Congo and western China. Doctors and politicians alike dismissed the disease as a new form of rabies, saying that one was safe as long as they got all of their necessary vaccinations.
They were wrong.
By the time the world figured out that the disease was something else entirely and that the vaccine did not work, tens of thousands of infected people had been hospitalized across the globe, and many thousands more were running rampant in the wilderness and in poverty-stricken areas. As the stability of central Africa and other affected areas decayed, the citizens of untouched countries like the European Union, the United States, and Canada tried desperately to ignore what was going on while their governments scrambled to contain the damage caused globally by the pandemic. Their illusions of normalcy, however, would not last long.
