Hey! Do you like Gravity Falls? How about Earthbound? Aliens? Wizards? Ghosts, or even monsters in general? If you like any of those things, you will see all of them here! Hey, I'm Aona, and welcome to the new-and-improved Fernway! This roleplay follows a group of kids, aged anywhere from 11-14, and their journeys over the course of one summer. Their pursuit? To uncover the secrets of a mysterious new neighbor, who has moved into their poor working-class village. This roleplay aims to act as not only a fun adventure story, but also a tale of monsters and magic. Throughout the course of the story, the kids will have to discover clues, talk to a slew of interesting characters (many of which I might allow to be played by you!), explore hidden and dangerous places, and occasionally even outsmart/outfight some of the things they run into.
Characters can pursue the main narrative, but also go off on their own and create new plotlines and stories! With a near-infinite number of mystical and magical creatures at your disposal, there's no limit to the craziness that can occur!
Obviously due to the younger age of the characters played in this story, the roleplay will take a lighthearted approach to narration. However, this doesn't mean that some dramatic, emotional, or downright terrifying things won't occur....you'll just have to wait and find out exactly what I mean

What These Mean:
Name: Obvious.
Gender/Sexuality: Non-binary genders are allowed! While sexuality is often an exploratory topic at these ages, we'll assume that each character is sure of their sexuality from the get-go. It is optional to include, but recommended.
Age: Again, 11-14, please.
Personality: Give a brief paragraph about what makes your character unique. What quirks do they have? Are they trustworthy? Create someone who is both flawed and sympathetic!
Appearance: A picture is preferred, but not necessary.

Age: 13
Personality: Rita is crafty, creative, and never one to back down from a challenge. While she may appear shy and untalkative at first, she is simply taking in the information around her, and figuring out how to process it. Once she is comfortable in her surroundings, however, there is very little that can stop her. Rita is a leader, though occasionally an ineffectual one; there is nothing she loves more than an audience. Around her friends and family, she is perky, friendly, and sarcastic. Rita is an artist that is constantly changing her craft, and will often change her appearance through her hair as she works on projects, either to capture the attention of others or herself. It's difficult to tie down her hobbies, which can switch from painting to boxing to everything in between.
Rita is a perfectionist, and often beats herself up for not being good enough. No matter how talented or admired her work is, she will always find flaws with it, and will change it endlessly until it fits her mind's eye. This can result in accidentally meddling too much in her own affairs and in others, due to a feeling of inadequacy. At the end of the day, however, Rita is a bright young girl who can inspire herself and others around her once she learns to accept things the way they are.

Current Life: Rita has lived with her grandfather "Greasy" her entire life. As the town's mechanic, he has taught Rita the basics of how to work the shop in order to one day inherit it from him. In the meantime, Rita is happy spending time with her friends, and participating in her dozens of hobbies that change incredibly quickly.
