"Specialists" dress as SWUF (South Wescern United Front) fighters in undercover war on seperatists
Wescish "Specialists" have begun mounting hit and run raids against SWUF deep inside the seperatist group's territory dressed as insurgent fighters, the NWURN can reveal.

The tactic described as "unorthodox" by senior government officials, is seeing covert units dressed in black and flying SWUF flags.

More than 120 members belonging to the elite unit referred to only as "specialists" are currently in the war-torn province on operation Fillemin, tasked with destroying SWUF equipment and munitions which insurgents constantly move around the ancient labyrinth that is below the surface of around 80% of the region.

The revelation comes just days after one of the worst terrorist attacks in Wesc's history the Bleson Train station bombing that killed 102 and 8s believed to be the work of the SWUF though no group has yet claimed responsibility.

The "Specialists" mission is part of the "Broad Spectrum Response" announced by the government in the wake of the attack along with massive increases in military spending.
Though the Prime Minister is being kept informed, senior military sources last night told the NWURN that he would not be required to "green light" every mission.

Speaking to the NWURN last night a senior military source said: "Essentially, this is what we call penny packet operations - small individual incursions which hopefully join up to create tangible results. The view here is long - it's about finding and engaging targets, yes, but it's also about assessing infrastructure and identifying where SWUF is hidings its equipment in order to set the conditions for a potentially larger, future engagement. "

Some however have expressed concern over the group and it's methods "To have a group independent of oversight running around dressed as terrorists is outrageous" said the Citizens for Transparent Government "This harks back to horror stories of death squads and the "Strategy of Tension" rather than wartime heroics."

Next Mike, furious at being served an undercooked piece of carrot at a christmas dinner in 1982, immediately set about promoting Drew Peacock's Christmas lunch nationwide at the country's homeless shelters and even paid to fly in many refugees leading to at least 4000 hungry people lining the streets outside his house demanding their figgy pudding, and not leaving until they got some! They rioted when he turned them away wrecking his house and causing untold damage.

Citizens of Austopia were shocked today, as news of the assassination of Supreme Leader Austin were released early this morning.

The former leader of Austopia was found dead in his hotel room yesterday morning with six gunshot wounds to his back and head, an Aide told ANN.

Supreme Leader Austin was attending a diplomatic meeting with opposition party leaders, in the hope of encouraging political diversity in the High Council and Courts, when he was gunned down in what appears to be a professional assassination.

Leader of the Guard, Axel Warren released a brief statement earlier today, citing the care that the assailant took when perpetrating the crime.

"This was not the work of a fanatical civilian, a common criminal, not even someone with previous military experience. This was the work of a professional assassin. Everything, from the bullet casings, to dead skin cells, to fingerprints had been meticulously accounted for. This was perpetrated by a man three steps ahead of us."

In an emergency session of the High Council yesterday, four star general, Luke Blackwell, has been appointed temporary head of state. In an interview with ANN, Blackwell said that he would take measures to ensure that such an event would never happen again.

"While the death of the Supreme Leader is an incredible tragedy, we will not focus on mourning the casualties of the twisted forces that work to tear this country apart, but instead work to avenge the fallen, and ensure that enemies of the state never threaten our way of life again. The coming weeks will be hard, and I ask the brave populous to remain united in defiance of this twisted assassin."

At the writing of this article, no leads have been released. The government has launched a full investigation, and is offering a cash reward to any with information.

Four star general, Luke Blackwell, denounced the opposition today, after the release of evidence accusing the political movement of Supreme Leader Austin's murder.

The eight page paper released by the Guard last Monday accuses over seventy of the opposition party's leadership of a massive conspiracy to take out the former leader of Austopia.

"This action is despicable, and the government of Austopia intends to take every measure possible to bring these traitors to justice. Until we can be ensured that the scourge of the opposition cannot taint an election, I am declaring a state of emergency, and intend to hold my position as emergency head of state until this crisis has been resolved."

The general's words were followed by a military purge of the opposition, as brigades of armed forces detained over fifty political activists.

This move has been met with some resistance within the High Council, as Minister of the Interior, Rachael Arrawin, vocally spoke out yesterday.

"The only despicable aspect of this situation is Blackwell's handling of it! Having seen these documents myself, I can attest that they are nothing more than false allegations created to advance the General's own political agenda. I stand against Blackwell's continued presence in office, and urge my fellow Councilmen to do the same."

Arrawin was later found dead in her home. The cause remains unknown, but foul play is suspected.

Members of the opposition face inditement hearings tomorrow. ANN's polling shows overwhelming public support for conviction.

4 May 2036 - Yesterday, terrorist attacks were reported in a residential area in the capital city, Leska. After 5 hours, bombs threats by a man wearing VSOG (Verochkanian Special Operations Group) uniform, near a shopping center, caused panic. The state authority believes that the man was a former member of the country's elite force. At 3:05 PM, a resident spotted communist flags on the road, now, the state government believes that the mastermind of this was the communists, a long time enemy of the Republic since 1914. The state government released a statement later saying that they will not tolerate terrorism and eliminate it as soon as possible.
