Postby Omigodtheykilledkenny » Mon Apr 25, 2016 10:04 am

PLEASE LOG IN TO YOUR WA NATION AND VOTE AT BEST RESOLUTION OF THE YEAR.

Please vote in the regional poll to make your vote count. The above poll results are unofficial.

To prevent cheating, voting has been limited to WA Nations only. You can try to vote more than once...but you know what the penalty for multi-ing is. :eyebrow:

Repeal the WSA. *nods*

I voted for No Penalty Without Law (surprise). Repeal WSA is excellent from a teleological perspective, but it is unremarkable otherwise.

Whoops, I voted before I saw the "only WA nations" thing. Consider my vote PPU's vote for "To Prevent Dangerous Debris". Simply because I love the definition of debris as debris. :P

Log in to PPU and vote at Best Resolution of the Year. It says twice in the OP that the forum poll is not official.

Wartime Looting and Pillage, I think. That had a lot more impact on war than any of my other works, by my interpretation, and was about as close as a ban on killing civilians as I could get.

I am disappointed, but not surprised, that Repeal WSA is doing so well...

I've changed my mind several times. Happy as I am to have made the finals, AICP is a fairly niche application, one even my own RP doesn't yet have much need for.

Separatist Peoples wrote:Wartime Looting and Pillage, I think. That had a lot more impact on war than any of my other works, by my interpretation, and was about as close as a ban on killing civilians as I could get.

The effect on war itself might be smaller from Protected Status in Wartime, but the huge negative impact on humanitarian crises when people, both civilian and military, don't trust NGOs to be totally open about what they're doing and who they're working for - can't be overstated. PSiW removes one enormous source of mistrust and may actually save more lives thereby. Hypothetically, of course.

I was gonna vote for Repeal WSA...

And then I remembered I have standards. I voted for To Prevent Dangerous Debris even if it won't win, as a sign of respect for Defwa.

Nah, I already "cheated" at one of the sub-polls to help get one of the current choices to this final poll.

Also, I'll pass on voting anywhere else but here.

Pfft, I know for a fact I wasn't the only one to vote on 2 nations in the earlier votes. :P

And I would've voted at the region poll on PPU, if only to annoy you, if the thingy worked... does it require Flash or Java to work?

The rules may allow players to be complete jerks when it comes to writing repeals, but that doesn't mean you can do it in forum contests. If I do this contest next year, I will make a point of placing every poll on a regional homepage. We can even award "host sites" like they do at the Olympics. Want to advertise your region for free for a week? Let us hold one of our polls on your RMB!

I really like this idea.

Yyyyeeesss, because everyone takes forum contests oh so seriously...

Also, in my defence, there was no mention on the preliminary polls that you were restricted to one account to vote on the things. :P

So, I repeat, does the voting thing require Java or Flash to be enabled? Because I tried it on PPU and it didn't work.

Well it wasn't mentioned in the ones I actually voted on. I was away for a few weeks, busy with RL, and missed the first few of those votes entirely.

Go to Technical and ask them. I've never had problems with regional polls. I do know that with this one you have to be logged in to your WA nation for it to work.
