The year is 2123

In the year 2070, humanity went to war.

A war that ended civilization as we know it.

The world Powers, The United States, and China, went nuclear and blasted each other to hell and back. Nothing is left except pockets of survivors and settlements with a small hope of restoring civilization.

You can control one of these factions, or perhaps be a lone wondering stranger in the mad post-nuclear world.

Many enemies exist in this world as a result of radioactive mutation:
Deformed and rabid dogs
Walking corpses with a hunger for human flesh
Terrifying fish in the sea
Zones of the world so radioactive it'll kill you if you went in without proper gear
and other humans..

Good luck.

New Stalingrad, formally Kiev, Ukraine

Two men dressed in dusty brown trenchcoats with red piping, wearing peaked soviet caps stood at a large metal makeshift wall surrounding a city behind it. "Nikolai" One guard said
"Yes?" The other replied
"Why do we always get the shitty jobs! We work day in day out and stand at show upmost loyalty, but we have to do walker watch!"
"I do not know comrade Josef. Why don't you ask High Command yourself?" Nikolai snarkingly replied
"Do I look like idiot comrade?" Josef fired back, gritting his teeth "I am of no idiot! I am just sick and tired of being the cyka of comrade Azlov!"
Ahead of the wall, several rotting corpses with glowing yellow eyes has stepped from behind a tossed over semitruck, groaning in the dead of night. Josef flashed his light over to them and said "Ah crap. More walkers! Open fire!", this causing Nikolai to raise his AK-74 and fire upon the mutated humans. One shot in the head getting the job done. "Just be glad we aren't the unlucky bastards who have to go beyond the wall." Nikolai said "Nobody survives in the zone."

Inside the city, amongst all the makeshift homes and shacks stood a large marble building, mostly darkened by years worth of ash from nuclear blasts, decorated in red flags bearing a gold hammer and sickle.

Inside, Vladimr Nikodim Vladislavovich, appointed "Premier of the Soviet Union" had begun writing new economic plans for the small city of New Stalingrad, hoping to make it the best, and advanced city, technologically, economically, and financially in the new post-nuke world. The report was lengthy, included many words the common man wouldn't understand. It called for artisans, farmers, and more. All equally owned by the state, which in return would build new homes, armies and settlements. A currency was being developed, mostly bottle caps converted into a form of money. It seemed flawless to him atleast, and nobody questioned the wisdom of the Premier. Unless they wished to find themselves in the Zone of course.

A working telegram system was finished, using the series of underground cables from pre-war time to establish a form to transport communication. Along with that, the settlement has been able to create electricity for select parts of the settlement, mainly the capitol building and public facilities.

Recently, a telegram had been sent worldwide, or, atleast to those who could recieve telegrams,

Hello World!

We are the new Union of Soviet Socialist Republics! Located in a small settlement in Eastern Europe. We have just recently established communications and wish to know if other settlements exist in this harsh world!
If anyone is out there...Please respond.

An identical word by word repeat of this message spoken by a robotic voice, likely used by number stations, would broadcast on many radio waves aswell.

Soviet Outpost, Crimea

Buzzzz

...

Buzzzz

...

Buzzzz

A small shack with a large attena erected outside it was tuned into 4625 hkz. A number station from prewar times. The newly formed Soviet Government sent men to reactivate it several years ago. The station turned back on, but the men never returned..

KGB operative Tokarev Yermolayevich, nearly fell asleep to the buzz when a message finally broadcasted in the frequency

"Nikolai

4 67539
Romanov
Vladimir

2322579"

It then returned to Buzzing. The KGB operative scrambled from his resting position and immediatly wrote down the code, and began to telegram what he recorded to New Stalingrad command...

Three men in gas mask and trench coats were standing in a watch tower connected to a large wall made out of various things from scrap metal to old wood. Within the walls was a bustling city within the walls was an old town located within the ruins of Washigton DC was old buildings turned into makeshift homes. There were farms and even a working Hosptial. Inside the ruins of the White House sat the leader of this group Cosantine. Looking at his desk he informed his second in command to respond to this telegram.

Cosantine had plans to make this once great city the new leader of this apolcyptic world. Using many of the things left in the city after the war they had managed to repair an old radio station as so they would be able to communicate with other people.

Novosibirsk The heart of Siberia
Mirnov had a dream. The first dream in a while.

A dream of large busy streets full of merchants and people. A dream of a utopia, where people spend money on whatever they like, food, water, electricity. A dream of public transportation and clean drinking water. Of metropolises fed by vast farms. A dream of factories and apartments being restored to accommodate people. People who lived happy lives and raised families. He dreamed of schools teaching everything from mathematics to philosophy. He dreamed of well-armed, well-trained, courageous men who would not only protect this utopia from mutants, but chase the nightmares into their layers and destroy them.

Mirnov woke up. It was only a dream. It wasn't real. But it was another day. The settlement was awake. It wasn't the prosperous city he had imagined. But it had the potential. It was the first dream he had in years, and probably the last. That made it worthy of pursuing.

Outpost #2
The old radios station hasn't worked since the war. The government established an outpost for stalkers, Men who ventured into the dead city for resources. However, decades of neglected equipment didn't stop the eccentric stalker Petr from trying to establish a radio station. For the first time, Petr seemed close to a breakthrough.
"I bet five Rubles he won't make it." A guard said.
"I'll take that bet. Prepare to cough up." His friend replied.
"Hey, Petr, just give up. It has been two years and you still can't get that crap to work. No matter how many electronic do-hickeys you amass. Why don't you start looking for something useful, like medicine?" a stalker said.
The radio started to buzz, then static came through, "You were saying?" Petr said.
"Hah! Where's my money?" The soldier said.
"My god...You actually got it to work..." The stalker said in disbelief.
"What's going on here?" The outpost commander asked, walking over, "You two, get on top, you're on sentry duty."
"Ok, but..."One soldier began.
"But what?"
"Petr fixed the radio..." The other replied.
The commander looked at the table. He walked over and asked ,"Is it true?"
"You bet!" Petr replied, "Once I find a music player I can broadcast music all over town. If we get a radio dish, I could, in theory, contact the outside world!"
"Really?" The commander said, "I should tell the council...."

The "Kremlin"
Somehow, a single grocery store had survived almost unharmed. Its canned food had attracted settlers, the first pioneers who established the town. Now, the Grocer was the government building. It towered over the makeshift houses, stores, and farms, protected by a makeshift wall of steel plates, concrete slabs, and wooden planks.
"Are you serious?" Mirnov asked in disbelief.
"Yes sir." The voice over the walkie-talkie said, "We have partially restored the radio station. I repeat, we can have a working long-range transmitter!"
"Impressive" A council member said.
"Indeed, we should focus on this." another said.
Murmurs of agreement erupted from the councilors behind Mirnov, and the people who were watching the session.
"Alright, Listen, do what you can. Make a list and tell us what you need. OK?" Mrirnov said.
"Yes sir!" The voice sounded, before the Walkie-talkie fell silent.
"All right, let's assemble some stalkers, we should focus on getting that radio working."
"What about the hospital?" a spectator called.
"He's right." A councilor told Mirnov, "we need a better hospital."
"Don't worry, we'll expand the settlement later. But first, we need to re-establish contact with the outside world, see who else survived." Mirnov stated.
"And if no one else survived?" A councilor said, concerned.
"Trust me, if we survived I'm positive someone else did." Mirnov said, "all right, now let's make that list of things we need the stalkers to get."

New Stalingrad, USSR

Several soldierd marched by the capitol building, which had seemed offly drab the last few days. Maybe the red banners that usually flew from the building's remaiming pillars were too dirty...Or maybe it was the fact there were no windows in most rooms..

Premier Vladimir raised an eyebrow at the report. Supposedly, the KGB has reported the reactivation of UVB-76, and the transmission of encrypted code. An action not peformed in a hundred years..He looked at the officer "Was it ours?"
"I don't think so, premier." The Officer who handed him the report replied
"So what do you believe Officer?"

"Possibly some rogue bandits, or scavengers.."

"I want you to find a way to decode these messages.. And soon comrade." Vladimir ordered before dismissing the officer.

While sitting in the White House which supprisignly fared well after the blasts. Sitting in the office one of his top men walked to into discuss several matters.
" Mr Cosantine we have several things to discuss of much importance"
" what is it you need to talk about with me " answered Cosantine
" we need to talk about the expansion of the settlement" answered to troop
" what about expansion " Cosantine answered
" we need to expand if we are going to have more peopel" answered the troop
" why exactly do we need to we have plenty of room" answered Cosantine
" if we want to become more powerful expanding is the best thing to do" answered the troop
For a moments Cosantine stays there looking at an old map and responded with" do what you must but I want you to check in on our outpost in Boston they should have responded by now". The troop left the room with Cosantine sitting there looking at the map once again.

Then turning in the radio he states" who's out there we are alive and healthy who is out there".

The Kremlin
Free market had taken its course. A rowdy old man set up a gun shop, One of the Farm owners started to distill vodka with his potato harvest, and a stalker opened a clothing store while his brother went scavenging for more clothes. Mirnov laid out for his government their economic policy:
If it moves, Tax it
If it keeps moving, Regulate it
If it stops moving, Subsidize it
"Who came up with that Idea?" A councilor said.
"Some American President." Minrov explained.
So far, the only regulation was a "construction business" that built some of the houses. However, they were thinking of regulating the farms. Maybe a minimum wage. Some farmers used their children for labor, starting a discussion over child labor. This discussion led into a discussion about a public education system. Then into healthcare. The government had established a field hospital, and it had medicine and bandages, but some wanted a real hospital with real doctors. Then defense became an issue. Most the army was farmers during the winter when there was no harvest. Maybe time the established a real standing army?
Mirnov sighed. Such was their democracy. They try solving one issues, argue over another, then solve a third that was completely unrelated to the first two. Finally, they agreed on a full-time army, which would lessen the reliance on (but not fully replace) the Opolchenie (militia). This new force, formed from long-serving Opolchenie members and stalkers, would be the Strelkovy (riflemen). The first group would be 75 men, a third of which former stalkers and Opolenchie. Furthermore, they agreed on literature courses for all children ages 5-9. Illiterate adults could participate voluntarily. The former would be a easy, there were many men willing to go on a adventure, but the later would be hard. Not many of the people were literate. Of the 10 councilors, Mirnov and 1 other were the only literate ones. To overcome this, teachers were to be given large rewards and good pay. That way they could attract all the people they could. They would even pay for nicer houses for the teachers. Mirnov fully supported this. He vowed he would support the teaching process when not dealing with government. He had a dream, but that dream required educated people, and few of the Authority's citizens were.
Outpost #2 (Renamed Trans-Siberian Government Radio)
Another stalker entered the building. The two guards were waiting behind a little barricade. They greeted him.
"Business?" One said.
"I found an entire cache of parts!" The stalker said, he opened his sack and poured electronics on the barricade's table.
"Really, wow, this is good stuff. Where?" The other guard said.
"There is an electronic store. I found the basement and it is full of goodies for radio. But..."
"But what?" the first guard asked.
"There is an entire damn mutant dog pack. And not the silly little blind ones, I mean big, wolfy things." The stalker said, fright highlighting his tone.
"Don't worry, we'll pay you. Go inside, tell Vitili. He is in charge of the government stalkers." The second soldier said.
"Yeah, Petr will faint when we bring him all those little do-hickeys!" The stalker said, before entering the building.

Colorado
Deep inside of the mountain lay the military complex. Once warning of the bombs reached the NORAD bunker all level 5 government officials that could have been brought into the bunker were brought in. They had done well being self sufficient inside of the bunker as it was designed to keep people alive through an Apocalypse. The people there had limited contact with the outside world as they had not opened the doors since the blasts occurred. However a debate had sprung up as to if it was time to liberate the wastes outside, as the people did consider themselves the remainder of the United States Government. Only time would tell what they were to do.

Sitting in the Oval Office, Cosantine sits there drinking a cup,of coffee. Thinking to himself coffee is so bloody hard to get he's literally the only one in the city with a stockpile of it. When the doors slam open a officer runs in and says" sir we got contsct with the outpost and they have some good news". Cosantine with his eyes wide open just states then says " what the hell what is it". The officer stands there puffing before he replies " just some very important military equipment though damaged and old is still usable namley a bunch of old guns and bombs". Staring once again Cosantine says" get them to transport it through the port we will go by water". The officer nods and heads off to contact them once again.

New Stalingrad

"What? There's more civilizations." The Premier asked, looking over yet another report
"Correct, Premier. Some American settlements have reachrd to us" Officer Dimitri Reznov replied.
"This is most interesting...Send a message to them, acknowledging them..."

Hello.

We have recieved your message loud and clear! It is good to hear other civilizations exist, however, you are across the ocean..And no operating ships exist in our possession yet. We barely have cars! And who knows what lies deep within the ocean after the mutations..

But seeing someone else out there fills us with hope!

New Stalingrad wasn't really advanced..Most of the roads were littered with garbage from a hundred years ago. Buildings were dark makeshift shacks with poor lighting, or gutted apartments and other similiar box shaped buildings that survived the nuclear war. Mostly burnt by the explosions before.

The only operating bar in town was a shanty building made of various cargo containers loosely tied together by rope, wooden planks and steel bars. The inside was decorated with various soviet propaganda pieces salvaged by the communists before they went underground during the war. Along with them, some red flags and a couple of antlers. Mainly from the eight legged deer that mate around this area during this time of year. Dimitri Nikitin was not the one for talking, he only came to the bar for a few drinks. Which were incredibly expensive due to the rationing. It costed him almost 50 bottlecaps by the time he was on his second drink. He burped, then looked at the bartender. One side revealed a gentle old man in a tuxedo made of some fabric that hasn't been produced in a century. But it only took the man to turn to unveil a different story, one that told of a survivor. The entire second half of his face was a burnt and mangled mess. He was in a blast and survived, as he told. He claims to once be one of the best bartenders during pre-war times. Something about Moscow, or something similiar. Nobody had been to Moscow here in well over a decade, most said it was a wasteland filled with walkers. Despite these 'travelers' who stop by's reputation for lying...They were probably right.

Dimitri took one more gulp of his drink before he got up, groaning. He mumbled some kind of thanks and waved at the bartender before walking out of the makeshift bar and onto the barely lit streets of New Stalingrad. A couple men walked by across the street, laughing and telling dirty jokes to each other, their dark clothes barely noticable under the poor lighting of the street. Dimitri yawned and stretched before turning his attention towards the sidewalk and stepping down the brick path to the soldier barracks..His home as they called it. He knew it wasn't home. Nor would it ever be. But it had a bed, and it had an operational toilet. So he couldn't say no to staying there..Not in this kill or be killed world where even certain type of snow can land you with the nice feeling of terminal cancer. He had been thinking so much, he barely noticed he was at the barracks and walking on its wooden floor. He yawned, the second time that night anyone would really hear anything sounding remotely like his voice. His comrades didn't pay attention to him, they never did usually. They only squatted next to their double decker beds and played some kind of card game.

"Comrade, here is good one. I like to listen to jazz with my ____" One soldier read from the card
All the soldiers in the circle took out their cards from their decks and set them in the center of the circle. The middle soldier picked up one and laughed hard enough to fall over. He proclaimed that card the winner, turning it to his comrades and revealing it read "booby." This caused an immediate arguement amongst the soldiers on what real comedy was.

Dimitri rolled his eyes and took off his hat before sliding into his own bed. A hard mattress that no reasonable human should sleep on..Except these weren't real reasonable times.. He groaned and turned his head away from the arguing soldiers and attempted to drift off to sleep.

Too bad he never did. He really needed that sleep.

Trans-Siberian Government Radio
The mechanic crawled out of the little hole, unusually dirty. "Will that do?"
"Yeah, thanks" Petr called.
"What did he do?" The commander asked. He never paid much attention to Petr, but now that his post was Petr's personal radio station the commander had taken keen interest in the Radio.
"He fixed the old generator under the building. With the extra juice we can do some real transmitting!" Petr answered
"What do you mean? I thought we were transmitting?" The commander asked, obviously confused.
"Yeah, but only to Novosibirsk. Now, we recieve messages from across the world!" Petr said, enthusiastically.
"Why can't we send any?" The mechanic asked, approaching the table.
"Well, There isn't any microphone or anything for me to talk into, so we need to get that." Petr answered, "Wait, we actually got something!"
"Other survivors?" The commander said.
"Yes! We're receiving a message!

If anyone is out there...Please respond.

"What the hell is a "Union of Soviet Socialist Reoublics?" The commander asked.
"Obviously there was a first one! Maybe this is the second?" The mechanic said.
"Eastern Europe..."Petr began. He turned his swivel chair and looked at a world map. "That's on the other side of Russia!"
"Well, good to know we made contact and aren't the only ones. Let's hope those stalkers find a "microphone" or whatever and fast." The commander said.

Novosibirsk
Electricity was a wonderful invention.
Thanks to a wily mechanic, a train in the Sibirskaya train station they built their town next to was a make-shift power generator, giving light to the government building and hospital. The government gave that man a generous contract to go and give electricity to the new radio. Now they had a radio and electricity. If only they had more electricity and a better hospital.
"We should expand." A councilor told Mirnov.
"Why?" Mirnov asked. They had room in their walls.
"We should go south, towards the hospital. There is plenty of medicine there, the stalkers say. Also, there is a large park in between here and the hospital. Maybe we can farm there..."
"Fine, I'll inform the council tomorrow during the next meeting. But this will overextend us. At least wait a week for the Strelkovy to finish training." Mirnov stated.
"Yeah, right okay." The councilor said, before waking off.
Mirnov sighed. They had too many things to do and too little resources to do them. At least the free market was working. Some lady started a little medicine store selling medicine she made with herbs she grew in her garden. The government immediately subsidized her business, hoping to alleviate some of the demand for the dwindling pre-war medicine. The vodka distillery was also prosperous. The cheap vodka was liked by the people who were too poor to buy the increasingly demanded and rare pre-war liquor. Yeah, the government noticed it had more rubles from taxing the businesses to play with. Time to put them to use.
Somewhere else in Novosibirsk
"Okay, in here!" The stalker said to the others. He pointed towards a small store.
"Looks empty to me." The team leader said. He and his men were now "civil Servants", focusing on obtaining parts for the radio.
"Yes, but there is a basement. And a dozen dogs." The stalker said, concerned.
The team leader looked unimpressed. He signaled to his men. They moved towards the store's broken windows pulling small olive-green objects out their packs.
"Do you want to know an advantage to being a gov. stalker is?" The team leader said.
"No, what?" The stalker said absently, his mind focused on the two men approaching the window.
"We get access to the government armory." With that, the two men threw the grenades through the window. The team leader grabbed the stalker's rucksack and dragged him behind a overturn car while the rest of the team ducked behind cover. Seconds later, a loud explosion sounded through from the store, accompanied by pained howls.
"Yeah! Clean up, boys!" The leader yelled. The two men from earlier moved on the store, firing into shattered windows.
"Miska, you're on overwatch." The leader said, moving towards the store with the stalker and the rest of his team. "All right where is this basement?"
The stalker jumped when he heard gunshots. Two other stalkers emerged from the other side of the store, "We killed off the dogs. There were about 7 or 8." they said.
"O-ok," the stalker said, "this way." He lead the team to a small door near the back, "just under here."
Static sounded from the team leader's belt. He pulled out a walkie-talkie and answered, "Yeah?"
"Sir, we got walkers!" the voice yelled. Seconds later gunshots rang through the air.
"Damn!" The leader yelled, "You guys get the loot, I'm heading out." He ordered.
"Right, count on us." The other stalkers replied, heading into the basement.

" did you hear about those radio messages from ther groups hey".
" yeah mate cant believe it were not alone it's awesome "
As the troops were taking off to watcher the drive parked the car and says walkers inbound. The troops turn the lights off and wait , about a group of 30 or so walks just straggle along by. As they leave the jeep restates and heads off back to the outpost to restock supplies.

Franz Joseph was looking out over a silent Budapest on the balcony of the parliament building accompanied by a brisk northern wind.

All was calm on the balcony until a soldier came up to him and told him that the radio had picked up a frequency.
Franz rushed into the building and into the radio room to see the transcripts of the message.

We are the new Union of Soviet Socialist Republics! Located in a small settlement in Eastern Europe. We have just recently established communications and wish to know if other settlements exist in this harsh world!
If anyone is out there...Please respond.

Franz was very excited to hear from someone outside the setllement for this first time in his life. He was quick to respond to the message.

Hello communist brethren. We are the Communist Hungarian Republic, and the person speaking right now is their leader, Franz Joseph. We are very happy to hear from another settlement. Our settlement resides in Budapest, Hungary. If you are close enough, we can possibly schedule a meeting, or a summit of some sort. Thank you for broadcasting this message. Goodbye.

Franz was so excited that he started to list the things he was thankful to have in his settlement.
He was thankful for the hot springs that the country was built on, providing a place of relaxation for his citizens.
He was thankful for the advanced agriculture policies he had in place to maximize production of food.
He was happy for the army he had, protecting the walls.
He was happy for the scientists he had employed, for they were working on a motorcycle that was efficient on fuel and required little parts to build.
Last of all, he was happy for himself, because he caused this new "industrial revolution" to happen in his settlement, and he was proud.

After that, he went back out to the balcony, and surveyed his citizens.

Greater England
London, Royal Courts of Justice

Though the landmarks of London were not what they had been told of in what history preserved, the Royal Courts served as a sort of headquarters for meeting among Greater England's King and Governors responsible for particular regions. On this day they had come closer to recreating temporary generators from old units and blueprints resourced over the London area and its multitude of museums. In lieu of these portable generators nearly being used, radio broadcasts had still only been strengthened enough to perfectly cover former Britain territory but the King had preferred this. In the Royal Courts King George and the House of Greater England, a revolving door of royals and upper tier Englishmen who oversaw operations and shops, including the Governors, were meeting.

"The court recognizes Duke Frederick "Freddy"," spoke a man in a tan suit holding out a paper in front of him

Duke Freddy was the main radio personality responsible for transporting news across the territory to common people and playing what music was available, he had been in this position for nearly a year and had taken issue with the range of radio broadcasts being reserved to British shores alone.

"Your majesty, his court, we have a real issue out there. Isolation is holding us down for expansion, there are possibly other groups out there that we can contact for help or allegiances before they find us. I suggest the project that has been shelved for nearly a year be reopened and we extend the broadcast range." reported Duke Freddy

The king himself usually answered requests.

"The range is meant not to simply isolate" King George began

"But to insulate our people. Foreign groups are what have brought us to this very predicament. Consider the idea tabled until further notice." the King said to cheers from some in the room.

"Your majesty, General Scots of the 1st battalion." said the tan suited man

From the seats around, the general stood in place speaking before everyone

"Majesty." he began, his voice stern

"My men have made progress in the clearing of hostiles from Regents park due west from here. It is a proper location for settlement under our watch, but the surrounding buildings and rubble will be searched in the coming days. My lieutenant-general has made requests to secure the old airport ruins as a headquarters for further staging but it will take manpower and recruitment from outlying groups on British territory of course."

The king slumped down slightly in his chair, resting a hand below his face.

"See it completed General, and fine work. Report losses to Prince Cromwell and the Duke for publication of their efforts."

With that the court adjourned for the time and King George was taken upstairs, meanwhile General Scots and Duke Freddy made plans to strengthen the military's radio signal in order to communicate with any foreigners beyond their territory.

Little Tokyo station, ESF

"So. What do we have here?" Said the Supreme Commander of the Eastern Sovereign Faction, Admiral Borealis Norsoutha. "Well, Admiral and Oberbefehlshaber, we're preparing to train our troops to head to the surface. What are your thoughts on this?" Asked General Kurenai Rika, one of Borealis' friends. "I suggest that we get some better equipment for our troops to fight any enemies. I'll be overseeing and supervising the training of the troops. And Morrison, I want the numbers of our forces to rise from 250 to 350." He ordered as he stood up. "YES, ADMIRAL!" Admiral Richard Morrison replied before leaving the junta room. "Time to get this Scheisse started." Borealis murmured as he left, too.

Wearing his white and blue clothes (the yellow and blue one worn by the red haired girl had the yellow color replaced with the color white), Borealis Norsoutha went to the train and enters it. Then, the train began to move out as he then sleeps.

7th/Metro station, ESF

The train begins to stop as Borealis Norsoutha woke up. "Welcome to the 7th Street/Metro Center station. Please, begin leaving the train. THank you for your cooperation!" The train conductor said as many passengers went out of the train, Borealis included. Heading towards the training camp, he saw three lines of conscripts standing in attention. "Alright. I'll be your supervisor for this training. Now please head to your designated places and shoot those targets." Borealis ordered as the conscripts saluted and yells, "SIR YES SIR!", before heading to their places.

The conscripts then aimed their weapons at the mannequins, marks, and dummies as they fire at will. "These soldiers will be just what I wanted...I can't wait to head to the surface." Borealis thought as he watched them firing in short bursts at the target dummies. A few drill instructors began to instruct the conscripts as he oversees the training of the conscripts. "Sir, a few groups outside 7th/Metro station would like to join the ESF and its army." An Easter Sovereign Army (aka White Army) guard said.

"Let them enter." He ordered as the guard left. Borealis Norsoutha continued watching as the conscripts continued with their training.

New Stalingrad

Soviet Leadedship, for lack of a better term, was stoked when they learned of another settlement so extremely..And it was communist too! Premier Vladimir read over the report with great excitement. While not much existed within soviet borders, mostly due to the waves of mutants. An ally could easily help remove those threats and establish a brand new civilization of socialist republics in the East. The KGB operators on the raido where quick to reply once the Premier gave the order.
Slight interference from the buzzer could be heard as the message was sent via radio

BUZZZZZZZZZ

Hello Comrades in Hungary!
Buzzzzzzz

We are most interest in establishing a permanent alliance with your settlement! It is our firm belief both of us combined can cleanse the land of

buzzzzzz
mutants who threaten civilization! Please respond and we can organize a meeting

Budapest, Hungary

Franz was very happy that the settlement of New Stalingrad replied to their radio broadcast. He was quick to send a response.

We gladly accept your proposal of alliance.
Buzzzzzzzz

We propose that we meet at the halfway point between us, in Lviv, Ukraine.
Buzzzzzzzzzz

We hope that we can both quickly arrive there, because it's 6 hours from Budapest to their on car, and 4 days on foot.
Buzzzzzzzzzz

We hope to see you soon!

Franz Joseph. (PS: What are those numbers about?)

A nearby factory, Budapest

Alright Scientists. I think we finally have it. The design we've been waiting for.
We have designed the new, HU-49 motorcycle!

-Cheering-

It is designed using minimal parts, using mainly recycled steel and tires. Our objective was to make it cost-efficient and material efficient, and i do believe we have achieved this goal.
It is also very fuel efficient, using 1 liter of fuel every 35 kilometers. Now, we need to start producing a lot of these things for the military to use and for our possible meeting with New Stalingrad in Lviv, Ukraine.
Now, drink.
Then get back to work.

Trans-Siberian Government Radio, Novosibirsk
The station had even more guards then usual, as Mirnov himself had arrived after news of the Stalker's finding the equipment Petr needed had reached him. In attendance were some of the councilors, any off-duty guard, and many stalkers and regular citizens. It seemed like half the settlement was at that radio station. Which Mirnov knew was impossible since everybody was at work.
"While we were waiting, we made contact with some more people." A councilor said.
"Oh, who?" Mirnov asked.
"Some people in America. Apparently one of our guys has been self-teaching himself English. Who would've known?" The councilor replied.
"All right, time to contact our fellow humans!" Petr announced to the cheering crowd. As he fiddled with the equipment, a Opolenchie commander approached Mirnov with several stalkers.
"These the men that brought us the radio parts?" Mirnov asked.
"Yes sir," The commander replied, "He's just a stalker, civilian, but the others are government."
"Well, nice to meet you, boys! Good work getting that radio stuff." Mirnov said.
"Thanks sir, but it was easy, really. Only some dogs and a couple of walkers." The team leader replied.
"Speaking of walkers..." Mirnov began.
"We killed them all." The leader replied.
"Good, so no threat?" Mirnov said.
"Just the usual." The leader said.
"Sir, the message." A councilor informed Mirnov. Mirnov thanked the team then turned to the radio.
Hello, People of the New USSR!

This is the Trans-Siberian Authority! We are a government based in Novosibirsk. We have received your message, and now we have a functioning radio to reply. We are excited to finally hear some survivors.

"Pretty damn cool, right?" The commander said.
"Kinda anti-climatic, don't you think?" A councilor replied.
"What, did you expect a prolonged conversation with the commies?" Another councilor said.
The people were heading back outside to a trio of trucks. The stalkers found a underground garage that survived the bombing and after clearing the debris from the entrance they renovated several trucks, which the government turned into public transport. The councilors, Mirnov, and the Opolenchie commander, however, used a pair of Police cars, they salvaged, the word "police" painted over and the word "Authorities" painted on.
It was a rare occasion that the trucks and cars were used, as fuel was a bit difficult to get, and the presence of vehicles alone was an indicator something big was happening.

A nearby factory, Budapest

The only problem we face now to get these vehicles running is fuel. There are 20 gas stations nearby that we can siphon fuel from, so we'll just need to create some fuel tanks to hold fuel en masse.
With all the fuel from these stations, we should probably be able to run small generators to power the town's lighting and other facilities for a small period of time, but we'll get to that later.
-- After building the fuel tanks --

I have some good news for you all.
It is rumored that there is a radio station that we can salvage parts from to make a better and stronger radio to use to communicate with settlements further thank Ukraine.
I'll organize a team of Gyalogság, and send them to the old radio station. Hopefully, we'll be able to find some good parts, and find more possible stations.
Godspeed.

President Cosantone sitting with his forces plan a move on Massachusetts as with much farmable land and a relatively intouched city. They are sending in troops to try and take the city of Boston. There is also plans to place outposts in New York in the next few months.
