The universe began as a vast expanse of nothingness. There was no black void, for black in itself did not even exist. It's something that is hard for a mortal mind to wrap around, but then again, the first beings were not mortal. In the never ending nothingness, there was a bright orb, a collection of a fine gold powder which was no larger than an eyeball. For reasons unknown, this ball orb, and the powder, heavily condensed within it, was blown across all corners of this new existence. The process was a long one, it took years, centuries, millenia, a period of time so long that even beings of immortality would find themselves long since withered away. Yet, whenever this dust managed to group up within the infantile void of space, it created something miraculous. A god.
Not just any god, but a wise, sagely being who knew how to manipulate the dust around him and with it, create. Stars, planets, and even the swirling vortexes of a black hole were all birthed from the elder's fingertips. However, for all of his wisdom and knowlege, the Great Sage knew not how to create one thing: Life. It was this flaw in his being that drew the Great Sage to madness, and eventual suicide. He drove a blade into his heart, and from his wounds, the same Stardust of his creation began to leak out into the void.
These clouds of dust floated around a blank planet, an unfinished grey sphere floating around in space. Some were faster than others, but eventually, the clouds began to condense. When they did, new beings were born. New gods, none of them even a fraction as powerful as the Great Sage, but gods with the power of creation all the same. They met around this blank world, which was dubbed Canvas. Together, they discussed what would be done with it. That, is where our story begins.
OOC
Hello everyone! So, as you can tell by the introduction, this is a roleplay where you players will be taking up the roles of gods, yes, gods! Your jobs will be to work together to craft the world of Canvas into something beautiful, or maybe even hideous! Will your gods work together to build up the world? Or will they feud and ultimately destroy it? The decision is put into your hands!
However, before we get into literal godmodding, let's go over a few ground rules:
1. The IC thread will be for roleplay, and the OOC one for applications and discussion. Please don't mix the two.
2. There will be no flaming or excessive hate speech on the IC or OOC threads.
3. The general time period (at least for the mortals) of this roleplay is tribal/medieval. How fantastical or realistic it is will be dependent on player decisions.
4. No nukes, WMDs, or what have you. Nothing that can destroy everything with a single strike will be tolerated.
5. You will put "Prepare the Battle Cattle" in your application under the rules section.
6. In order to keep the roleplay on track, try not to have gods travelling to distant planets just for the sake of it. It tends to get everyone scattered everywhere. That's no fun.
7. You are allowed one god, that's it. If you're unhappy with your decision and wish to change the fundamentals of your god character, talk to me so I can make adjustments.
8. I shouldn't even have to say this, but don't go out of your way to kill other people's characters. It's not fun, and excludes people from the roleplay.
You've read the rules? Really? You're sure? You're sure you're sure? Excellent! Now then, let's get to the application process!
Applications
- Code: Select all
Name: (What am I supposed to call you?)
Realm: (God of light, fire, wealth, love, etc.)
Secondary Realm: (That's right, you get two! Make sure it fits along with your first one.)
Appearance: (Post an image depicting your god here, or write a fair description. Note that they can shapeshift, but this will be their primary form.)
Personality: (Are you naughty or nice?)
Other: (Anything I may have missed.)
Have you read the rules?:(I don't know. Have you?)
Here is an example application for clarification:
Name: Shrill
Realm: The seas
Secondary Realm: The Unknown
Appearance:
Personality: A very level headed, and quiet mouthed goddess. Though she prefers to stay away from the eyes of mortals, Shrill enjoys to manipulate disobedient or disrespectful mortals, while rewarding those who give her gifts or sacrifices. Towards other gods, she is less adventurous, preferring to keep by herself or watch from a distance rather than directly engage with others. Shrill is very fond of travesing void, using its dark abstractness as inspiration for the horrors she creates and controls beneath the sea.
Other: None.
