The Destruction of DEN: How does it affect your region?

DEN, as we know it, has been destroyed.

The Empire of Jocospor has fallen into national celebration, as has its region: the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators. Once invaded and pillaged by DEN, the Confederation often regarded the warring faction as its only enemy and sought vengeance against its people.

The Empire does, however, acknowledge that there were most likely a number of innocent nations that made up DEN. The Empire offers, to them, its most sincere sympathies.

The Empire is wondering: How does the destruction of DEN affect other nations? Were you once raided and occupied by DEN, kept only as a trophy? Or, likewise, were you supporters of DEN; do you regard their destruction as a grave loss?

The Empire hopes that it will foster new international friendships from this discussion. Please do not hesitate to telegram and propose an embassy construction between our respective regions.

I have long had my own non-raider casual region, Sanctuary of Syl. I had embassies with a few of the puppet regions of those who were punished, so my region lost three embassies. It wasn't unexpected.

The Empire understands your satisfaction. Our culture, too, was purged by DEN but we fought to restore it. It was only through a military campaign, led by the Empire, the Armed Republic of Wagner the Great, The Dictatorship of Athorious and The Free State of Feroxia, were we able to reclaim our beloved Confederation and salvage our invaluable archives.

The Empire trusts that Polandball has recovered fully from this ordeal.

But, since that refugee trickle happens whether or not they are invaded, it's difficult to say if invasions like theirs had much effect, since most places targeted were so inactive that not even refugees moved out from them. Players who were invested in regional communities destroyed by invasions often just leave the game, because the only thing keeping them on NationStates isn't there anymore. In some cases, the primary residents of some frequently tagged regions were just abandoned invader nations, discarded husks minus their former WA status.

The players of DEN will quickly find another region name, to wear as T-shirt flags, for as long as that lasts and have just as much effect.

The High Order of Westmount was raided once, but it was only a tag raid. Still, why do they want to be cruel to those of us who just ant to be left to our own devices?

My region of Vomindok came under DEN control 5 times in it's history, each time we managed to kick them out and rebuild stronger, but they still managed to find ways to attack. But we've successfully defended ourselves from them following the months leading up to the dissolution of their region.

It doesn't really affect my region. Why DEN would want to invade a relatively unknown region with an active founder is beyond me.

I dare say my region was the single most region affected by DEN and the predator incidents.

Raids and invasion are usually lifted after a while whether this incident happened or not.

The truly unique thing that happened is returning founders to natives from some of the DEN trophies. The three most notable regions that happened to are TEK, Hippiedom and Eastern Europe. Unlike the other two cases who are keeping their returned regions as memorials, the residents in Eastern Europe/(Eastern European) have voted to return and re-use the original region now that it is given to them.
