New Canterlot Palace.
Private Chambers of Princess Celestia.
"Let's go over it one more time.", Celestia ordered while someone went over her ethereal mane with a comb - no one knew why and how it worked, it had driven several scientists, magicians and similar things insane, but it worked. She wasn't going to question why.
Today was important.
She would meet a very important mare, welcome her to a state visit in her palace. Ecclesiarch Twilight Sparkle would arrive soon.
She was connected to the welcoming committees via a holocom unit, a small headset in her ear: Admiral Dead Fire, Commander GA Home Fleet, was responsible for space. General Grapeshot was responsible for the reception on the ground. Prince-Brigadier Petasos was responsible for the reception at the landing pad and leading the Ecclesiarch to his mother.
By that time, Celestia would be in her throne room and receive the guest.
It was a simple plan: The ship carrying her guest had designated arrival coordinates, where the 1st GAHF Battle Squadron with their five star destroyers (Loyalty, Generosity, Honesty, Kindness and Laughter) would receive her, escorting her through the system to New Canterlot Orbit, past the might of the Golden Armada, where the escort duty for the Ecclesiarch's ship would be taken up by the Dawnbringer and her squadron, Celestia's personal flagship and her escorts.
From there, the Ecclesiarch would depart on one of her ship's shuttles, descent into New Canterlot's atmosphere under escort of the Elites, Celestia's own shuttle escort squadron and the best fighter squadron of the Golden Armada, only to land on the main landing pad of the Palace, where Petasos would receive her and escort her through the long and winding halls to the official reception.
All under watchful eyes of holocams and live on HoloNet - and civilians, as the corridor, which was guarded by the Golden Armada, was lined with thousands of small and not-so-small ships wishing to catch a glimpse of the Ecclesiarch's ship. The route, which would lead from the entrance into the atmosphere to the Palace was lined with spectators as well. It was at the Ecclesiarch's discretion, if she would order her shuttle to go low enough to not only be visible, but also to (maybe) get problems with the ticker-tape parade held there.
All civilian air traffic was forbidden, every pegasus flying higher then five meters above the ground was blown away by the hundreds of patrolling interceptors and fighters, all ships and all troops on the ground were on Condition Red, full combat readiness, nothing should interrupt this meeting of giants.
"And now... we wait.", Admiral Dead Fire closed his report of the situation. "Only the mare of honour is left to set this all into motion."
Celestia nodded, much to her stylist's dismay. "Then wait until she is there. At least our little ponies will get a few cool pictures!" Petasos snorted in amusement. "Don't they say 'cool' anymore, Petty?"
