Strange Encounters in Newfoundland [OPEN]MT]

REPORTS OF KILLER TIMBER MAN

The witness is a well spoken timber man, as was his father and grandfather before him. In October he was cutting a cherry tree on an out-of-state neighbor's 1000 acre farm. As he finished he looked over at a cedar grove approximately 200 yards away and noticed something black standing beside the trees. At first he thought it was a black bear with its left paw up on the tree. As he watched, the animal used its left hand to steady itself as it stepped down into a ditch. He saw it take a couple of steps then it was lost from his view. He watched the animal for about three minutes. He drove his log skidder over and looked at that area of the farm and found it full of caves and thickets. The witness is a large man at 6'1" and 260 lbs. He estimates the animal was one foot wider than himself and 6 to 7 feet tall. In the past he has heard knocking in the woods as well as "yells". Two neighbors have also had sightings on an adjoining property. The 1000 unoccupied property of the sighting is a posted gated area that is very private.

The second sighting he had was in late winter of 2010. It was also witnessed by a retired gentleman that previously worked as a sheriff. While driving a logging truck in the Blue Sulfur area near dusk. The gentlemen observed what looked like a human/apeman squatted over drinking water with its hands from a distance of about 100 yards. The passenger (the retired gentleman) looked to the driver and said "did you just see what I saw?" The driver said "what did you see?" The passenger said "an ape drinking water with its hands." The driver said "that's what I saw too".

The witness is a lifelong hunter, living his whole life in the mountains, and his job in the woods. Of the sightings he told me "I can tell you that what I saw was not a human and not a bear, beyond that I can't say."

Green County is a mix of rolling farmland extending up into steep rugged mountains. The countryside is dotted with caves and is lightly populated. At present there have been more sightings in Greenbrier County than any other county in West Virginia.

Without a doubt, the realization that such a conspiry could be discovered was a astoument to the glorious Khan-President Hank the Cat the 25th, that this has caused the "X-Team to be deployed. The President has released several statements, most are paranoid rants, but a few are about the "evil spy timber monster" must be destroyed.

The X-Team is a team of five individuals, who, in the Commonwealth States, at least, are considered to be "experts". They are trained in severe "X-File tactics". The Government of the Commonwealth States is currently awaiting permission from the Newfoundland government to send the X-Team to Newfoundland via plane.

Taylor Green departed his house at six of the morning. News had came out from the government that they were planning to give a reward to the person that could kill the mysterious beast. A lifelong hunter, Taylor was not going to refuse the offer. Along the way he met up with his friend Ben Wood. Ben was a nice but tough fellow. He was well known in the amateur wrestling community, often winning against people above his weight class. They traveled to Corner Brook, where the last sighting of the beast occurred. With them they took two Walther PP guns, it was considered a worthy lightweight gun. In fact, the Walther PP was used by the German army and police force in the second world war.

At two of the afternoon they arrived at Corner Brook. The first thing they did when they arrived there was to ask the townspeople where they had seen the beast the last time. Few had seen them, but a few had given them valuable hints. At around 5 of the noon, they went out searching for the beast. Four hour later they arrived homes, they had not seen any trace of the beast at all. However they were determined that they would not give up.

Taylor and Ben had recently rented an apartment in the town of Corner Brook. It was late at night, Ben was watching the evening reports when he saw something horrifying. Twenty people were murdered, and ripped apart so violently that it was thought that only the beast could do it. A few seconds later Ben got out and sealed the windows, he took out his gun and had it close to him. He wasn't going to take any chances to become from the hunter to the hunted. "Taylor! The beast murdered twenty people today, be prepared for anything... It seems like quite a violent beast, it kind of scares me." Taylor realized that if the beast could get Ben to admit that he was scared, it must be really awful. He got his gun to his side. "Ben, the next morning we're going to kill that beast for good!"

The following morning they woke up around five of the morning, this time they were really determined to find and kill the beast. Taylor no longer thought of the beast as prey to be hunted, but rather as a dangerous predator. Meanwhile Ben still thought of it as dangerous big game. They got to the forest half an hour later, and went hunting for clues. They found a few foot prints which could have been attributed to the beast, and was also supported by the strange, and stinky smell in the surrounding area. After many hours of trying to trace the beast they finally had a dangerous encounter with it. The hunters had decided to camp for a while, when they noticed a strange humanoid like silhouette. But it was too big to be a human, it was around six to seven feet tall. A few tense moments passed by, then the beast charged at them. Ben fired a few shots at the beast, but the beast was not deterred. Ben had to shoot the beast seven times before it decided to back off. The hunters went home, and they knew that next time they would need a more powerful gun.

"Xi-8 Actual to command, all units have completed their patrol routes. No signs of the entity. Returning to Outpost-94, over."
"Roger, Xi-8."
A formation of four black, unmarked UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters cruised over the forests of Newfoundland towards the border, carrying with it the members of Mobile Task Force Xi-8, a.k.a. "The Spearhunters." The group had just completed a near nine-hour patrol of the Newfoundland wilderness, methodically flying about at low levels, scanning the surroundings with infrared cameras for any sign of unusual activity.
However, today they had found nothing. There had been several false alarms - one signature had turned out to be a bear, another a lone hunter tending a campfire. The MTF operatives were hardly discouraged, however. Xi-8 specialized in tracking down cryptid-like entities, so this sort of seemingly fruitless search was old hat for them.
Onboard the helicopter designated Xi-8-Alfa, the mood could be best described as neutral. Most operatives were quite tired now from nine hours of searching. One was on the phone with a local newspaper, feeding them a story (fed to him in turn by External Relations Department staff) that the search for the "missing hikers" was still inconclusive, meaning that the constant helicopter overflights of the wilderness would have to continue. The man went on to stress the importance of staying out of the woods so as not to 'cause false alarms,' though everyone onboard the chopper was perfectly aware that the real reason was that covering up deaths is rather difficult, even for an organization with easy access to amnestic drugs. They were already having a big enough problem dealing with the panicking townspeople - word had it that the higher-ups were going to have some "nature experts" explain the whole thing away as a "rabid bear attack."
Such is the life of a MTF agent, Agent Andrew McClintock thought before nodding off to sleep somehow despite the engine noise. Tomorrow, they would search once more, and they would keep searching until the thing was either dead or in Foundation containment.

The Government of Newfoundland Demands that Government agents and officials oversee the operation and that the townsfolk take an active role in the hunt.

The following morning Taylor and Ben went to a gun store. "Do you happen to sale any AK-47s Or any other big guns?" The dealer was surprised at first but quickly figured it out. "You guys are going hunting for the beast?" The hunters nodded. Later that day Taylor and Ben went to the same spot where they found the beast last time. They waited several hours however they found no clues, on their way back home they stumbled upon something that shocked them.

"Taylor, a dead body. He has a gun with him, so that means he must have gone hunting for the beast. Unfortunately, he has a revolver, and if it took over five shots to just make the beast think about eating us, then he was doomed from the start." "We were lucky I guess, maybe we shouldn't do this, it's quite dangerous." "We're hunters Taylor, danger is part of our life! You could have been killed by hunting that tiger, did you just become a chicken?" He continued to imitate gobbling sounds. "Lets just go home..."
