Salutations! Perseid Federation here, though you may know me some time before as Stormwrath. This is a conference that seeks to address the refugee crisis that the primary Future Tech canon is experiencing, an event called as the Great Displacement (thanks Kyrusia for using the name in the latest State of the Galaxy update!) This IC thread is closed to nations that experience refugees or are preparing to accept refugees—in other words it's invite-only. Yes, I know, it contradicts the idea that it is a "voluntary" conference where nations can join if they wish. To rectify this, if you wish to participate in this conference, drop me a TG or contact me at Esper.net in the IRC channel #NSLegion.

Now, time to put in the rules.

1. Don't be a dick.
2. No godmod, no metagame, no stuff like that.
3. No posting unless you're in.
4. No military space fleets at Icosakhilos or the surrounding space. This is a conference, not a naval exercise.
5. No terrorist attacks or pirate activity. Come on, adding one would be so clichéd.
6. No violating the posting order or your post will be removed. Do it repeatedly and you will be removed.
7. Questions? Unsure about what to do? Drop a TG or go to Esper.net at #NSLegion.

Many thanks to the NSFT community for suggesting this idea as an RP thread! Your suggestions and input were most appreciated, especially since this refugee crisis was something conjured up by the community as a whole.

UPDATE 1: The first session of the conference has already started. It isn't recommended you write arrival posts at this point. You can just say that your dignitaries are at the conference with the others.

UPDATE 2: There will be a posting order that will be enacted so that we don't pile on top of each other in a free-for-all. The order will be based on the order of appearance. The order is as follows:

4. Gata'ja Ammudzi

6. The Vahkiraan
7. Singers of the Void

Wandering Argonians also serves as part of the security for the station during this conference.

Since it's still technically Day One, you can let your characters explore the station if you want. COMPLETED STORYLINES: ELECTION OF A STEERING COMMITTEE Purposes: to provide a means for the nations of the galaxy to discuss and decide on a course of action to adequately resolve the Great Displacement; to foster international understanding and goodwill in order to come to a proposal that will benefit all parties; to seek a resolution to the impact of the crisis, as well as the impact of piracy, raiding, and smuggling; and take on the responsibility of leading the galaxy forward in a united endeavor to provide the refugees with refuge until such time that it is safe for them to return. Members of the steering committee: Perseid Federation — committee chair Free State Republic Huerdaen Star Empire Rhustarim Hegemony Serukta Sehkrisaal United Dominion United Star Commonwealth Icosakhilos Confluence Interstellar Terminal, more commonly known as Icosakhilos Station or Icosakhilos, is a space station located in the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is an exclave under the sovereignty of the Perseid Federation. The station gets its name from the Icosakhilos Confluence, a region of space where the Sivulon Trade Network intersects with the Gamma-coreward trade lanes and merges to form the Solarian Trade Corridor. Icosakhilos Station serves as a port-of-call for interstellar frieghter vessels, a commercial hub, and a diplomatic center—the latter attributing to its proximity to the Solarian Reaches. Its shape resembles a gemstone, thus the station has also earned the nickname "the Quartz Shard." Major Locations Many of the locations this roleplay will focus on will be on the 360th Level, the widest of the station's 570 levels. SORTRAS CONVENTION CENTER This is where the Icosakhilos Conference takes place. Iris, the station's isomorph, serves as the receptionist. Much of the convention center is occupied by a large multipurpose hall filled with booths. These booths are rented by users who use the conference as food stalls or to promote certain things such as awareness of the plight of the refugees. Omilion is the meeting room where the conference takes place. KALOMINOS PROMENADE This is the wide pedestrian avenue immediately outside of the Sortras Convention Center. The promenade is flanked by restaurants, bazaars, hotels, cafés, and retail stores. One may take the tram that comes around Kalominos Promenade every ten minutes.

Question I have is are we going to have a policy for those who suddenly vanish? We don't want this to die because one of us just suddenly disappears. Like try to contact them and after so many days, assume they cede the floor and go to the next person?

As far as the postings, I think it might make more sense all around to combine continuations on posts into the posts being continued, that is if everyone is alright with that <.<

I have an idea, we rewind pre issues... (Perseid ) (your IRC ban was merely temporary; so we could both have time to cool off for the night, we were obviously misunderstanding one another. You said fine keep your post I thought it was ok to then.) My idea is to incorporate the second part of your intro in to the first part of your post and then with my post or , the second part of your post with my post. In to a mega post... If not just shoot me a TG or a poke on when I can post my character's actions.

That way it saves the confusion and time, and erases this entire issue. I don't want this to go to waste, we've come so far.. Clearly there was a contextual miscommunication and mistakes made on either end. This prevents both; keeps the thread moving and I'd agree to abide by the posting cycle... Would everyone agree with that?

Assuming you are speaking of mine as one of these, I've already worked it out with Perseid that it could stay as it doesn't interrupt anything. The situation was resolved via TG shortly after I made the post.

Context of my post does not preclude introduction insofar as timeframe is concerned, nor posting order (further added my position in the posting order was determined after I posted), as it presupposes no direct interactions with the host delegation (Perseid) nor does it presuppose a truncation/interruption of the IC introduction. I discussed this post with Perseid both before and immediately following the posting, which he reviewed (as I needed to make edits concerning Iris).

As you can see, the posting order is more or less established based upon first appearance (with OP prerogative modification), from what I can see, not explicit posting in the thread. By that basis, my post actually signals the end (or beginning, depending on how you look at it) of the posting order (making Perseid's second half of his introduction the beginning of the next posting cycle); content of my post effectively implies a "fashionable late appearance" made during the host's introduction, not after or before (also why I didn't really interact with anyone, and the post explicitly mentions the introductions being made).

That being said, if PF wants/wanted me to adjust my place in the posting cycle, that's fine, too. I'm just happy he let me join-in, given how late to the ball game I am.

Having now seen The Federal Union (Terran Alliance) side of this story about the deleted post. I would now like to hear the story from the OP and the Defending parties please? I believe i may be considered a neutral party at this time. I request that Both OP and Defending Parties each telegraphing me ONCE so that i might be able to compare stories and give my own ideas on possible misunderstandings.
