Hmm, I managed to upload a flag to a puppet successfully just a few seconds ago.

It's not every time I just found it suspicious that we both ran into the same error while doing the same thing, of all the different NS actions we could be doing.

I encountered persistent cloudflare errors for approximately 15-30 seconds (repeated attempts to refresh, navigate away and back, etc failed) occurred for me at about 4:58 pm edt. Ns returned "Website is offline | 520: Web server is returning an unknown error."

I don't see anything at that time. Can you please verify that timestamp? The zone is unusual for one thing (do you mean EST?).

Aha, this is good to know. This one was caused by a temporary network interruption between gameside and forumside. We don't need to error out for that.

I don't see anything at that time. Can you please verify that timestamp? The zone is unusual for one thing (do you mean EST?).

Unfortunately, I didn't mark that one at the time, that's the time I dug up from about when I tried NS on isitdownrightnow in my history, so not sure how accurate that is.

Also, chances are there are several other dozen people using your useragent (say, mozilla), at a particular moment, unless I'm reading your post wrong.

I just got an error code 522 at 1:20:39 US Eastern when requesting the API at https://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/ap ... ember+endo (there was a beforeid in the request, but the error code didn't report it - I've tweaked my stuff to include that for the future, too.)

And no, no one else should be using my useragent. This wasn't a browser request.

I know each CloudFlare page gives you that sort of info (Ray ID & UTC date/time). I'd figure the UTC time is helpful, but is the Ray ID anything you can look up and check? I haven't paid enough attention for when I've gotten errors, but I'd presume that the Ray ID changes each time and may help provide greater ID as to when/where/etc.

It can be helpful but it's not a fix-all tracking number that it makes itself out to be. It mostly helps CloudFlare itself and has limited use to webmasters.

Right, the Ray ID is nothing I can use. But a precise timestamp allows me to try to match it against weirdness in our server logs. If I can figure out things that seem to go together, that can suggest a problem area.

I just had a cloudflare error on my Queen Selina puppet while attempting to access my notices page, it was just before or exactly at the half hour mark.

I think it was error 522 as well, but my screencapture button failed me so I can't say for sure.
