Welcome to Alternia, if the name of the rp didn't give that away. For those of you who know what this place is, good, you can skip a good half of this post. If you don't, or are just that interested in hearing me babble, take a seat. Here's what you need to know.

Generally, the place is pretty messed up. The sun is so bright that one glimpse will blind you, your rank in society is determined by the color of your blood, the planet is inhabited solely by children, with the adults being shipped off for endless conquest. It wasn't always that way, though, the children being the only trolls on the planet part, I mean. The people of Alternia have always been rather warmongery. After a mass revolt led by a mutant renegade, all adults were to be deported from the planet to avoid any more rebellions.

Now, you must be wondering, why would trolls be so bent for war? You see, the trolls as a species were molded this way so that they can eventually fulfill a single purpose. What is this ultimate destiny, you ask?

To beat a video game.



This is Sgrub. What does Sgrub mean? I have no idea. This is a video game, but a pretty important one. I can't share too much details on how the game is structured right here, that is for you to learn on your journey.

Oh, did I forget to mention you are one of the trolls who will be playing?

Yep. You and a bunch of your friends, enemies, and other acquaintances are going to play Sgrub! At some point in the near future, all of you will receive a copy of this game by mysterious and unkown means. There is actually a second group that will be playing as well in a seperate session, but no one cares about those guys.

Here is what you will need to know regarding Trolls before you make an application for who you are.

That is a good question. If you don't know, than you must be wondering what the hell a troll is. In appearance, they look similar to humans, with few noticeable differences. They have gray skin, yellow eyes, black hair, and orange-yellow horns of various shapes. They also tend to have first and last names that have only six letters each. They live in homes of their own design called hives, which vary in size and structure depending on their caste. All trolls also have what is called a strife specibus, or preferred type of weapon (swordkind, pistolkind, bowkind...).

All trolls use a chat client called Trollian. Here they have a two word trolltag (ex: apocalypseArisen), a font color (usually a shade of their blood), and a typing quirk (like writing all capital or lowercase).

As for the blood caste, called the hemospectrum, each troll is hatched like insects with a specific color of blood, and adopted by a Lusus, and animal like creature that tales the role of caretaker as the troll has no parents. Then they adopt a symbol to wear on their usually all black clothing from the wide alphabet of each caste. Like any caste system, there is a strict social hierarchy. As you ascend it, your expected lifespan increases, as does your physical strength and violent tendencies. The lower castes live short lives and are rather weak, but are more likely to have psychic abilities, and to be more susceptible to them. Here's the order:

Burgundy: The lowest caste, having an expected lifespan of around a dozen or two sweeps (30 to 60 human years). They are the most likely to have psychic abilties, usually relating to telekinesis and/or being able to summon and commune with the dead. However, they are in turn the most susceptible to other psychic attacks, but few have been shown to lack this disadvantage.

Bronze: The second lowest caste, having lifespans similar to that of humans. They tend to have the ability to communicate and in some cases control animals, including Lusii.

Gold: The last of what you can consider to be the "lower classes", gold bloods also have human like lifespans. The psychic abilities of this caste tend to be powerful psionics, usually taking the form of telekinesis and/or psionic beams.

Olive: A very common "middle" class, it's at this point that you begin to
see a lifespan exceeding that of a human being, but also seeing a drastic decrease in the likelihood of psychic abilities.

Jade: A relatively small caste, consisting of females entirely. An uncommon trait amongst Jade bloods is being able to withstand Alternia's blinding sun. An even rarer trait is becomming a Rainbow Drinker, the Alternian equivalent of a vimpire that can both withstand and radiate intense light.

Teal: The upper class, but below nobility, Teal bloods can live well into their second or third century. It's here where you begin to see an increase in violent tendencies.

Cerulean: The first class of nobility, Cerulean bloods are more often male than female, and can live for several centuries. Despite being very unlikely to have psychic abilities, some Cerulean bloods have been showed to possess poweful abilities. Some have the ability to read and outright control minds, and with their high mental resistance, trolls with these abilities can be menaces to the lower castes.

Indigo: High in the nobility, the male dominated members of this caste have both long lifespans and extremely high physical strength, along with being very prone to violence.

Purple: Also called Highbloods, this mostly male caste is the highest that lives on land, and are both unpredictable and extremely violent. Most Highbloods live on shorelines with aquatic lusii, and all worship a Juggalo cult. Some Highbloods have psychic abilities designed to keep the lower castes in check, incuding telepathy, hypnosis, and manipulating other's minds.

Violet: The first of the two seadwelling castes, meaning they can breathe under water, where they usually live, but can also live on land. Violet bloods see themselves as lesser royalty, and see the lower, landwelling castes with contempt. They can live well into their thousands, and are very violent, but not to the extent of the Highbloods.

Fuchsia: The highest possible caste in the Hemospectrum, a Fuchsia blood, who is always female, can live several millenia. This blood is so rare that anyone born with it is destined to become empress, and that this color is BANNED from applications. The only two living Fuchsia bloods are Her Imperious Condescension, and her heiress, Feferi Peixes.

There are two other blood castes that are both BANNED:

Lime: This class was the most common, moreso than the Olive bloods. All of those with this blood color were hunted to extinction due to their high likelihood of having extremely poweful psychic abilities, and the threat they posed to Alternian society.

Candy Red: This is an extremely rare mutation amongst trolls, and anyone with it is seen as below even Burgundy bloods. The only known mutant in existence was the Signless, who once tried to lead a rebellion against the Hemospectrum. As his name suggested, there are no signs for mutant bloods, and no Lusii.

-Basic stuff. Obey the OP and Co-OPs (Intergalactic Russian Empire and the States of Balloon), keep it civil in the OOC, no godmodding, regular NS rules.
-As customary for a Homestuck rp, you can swear to your heart's content in the IC. But let's try to keep things PG-13 otherwise.
-All of your characters will be in their teens (~6 sweeps)
-God tiers and planets will be decided later, but there will be a max of one of each class and aspect.
-As of now, only 10 characters will be accepted, one of each caste. If the limit is reached, I will accept two more characters of any caste to fill the remaining classpects.
-Character deaths will happen, but only with consent.
-Don't be afraid to be creative with your troll's typing quirks and abilities, if they have them.
-If you plan on any ships between characters, you should know that Troll romance is a bit... different. Let's just say that there is a lot to describe. Here's a link to the madness.

Assisting him are multiple trolls of various castes, who he communicates with through trollian. He's quite arrogant, and uses his blood color as an excuse to abuse lower classes. Especially rustbloods.
