Fans of Dictatorship

Postby Pulau Singapura » Mon Nov 30, 2015 3:27 am

I love dictatorships, seriously. They make their nation better, safer and cleaner. And I condemn the USA for taking actions against them for no real reason. Surveillance is needed for the people to feel safer and be safer in public areas like airports, train terminals, etc.
I made this thread for those who love dictatorships and are willing to live under a dictatorship. I may not live under a dictatorship right now, but hopefully soon, I will.

Rule of the thread: NO FLAMING PLEASE. tbh it's embarrassing if you see links to posts in your thread, in Moderation forum. (though I have yet to experience that)

you realize that like the #1 problem with dictatorships is that after your great philosopher king benevolent dictators (lee kuan yew in your case i guess) die the succession generally proceeds based on who is the strongest (this is the case even in monarchies where there is a set system, and they have the exact same problem) or who can murder all their opponents faster (did i mention dictators are also generally not fans of competent people that can feasibly take over?) which leaves you with a high chance of getting a complete asshole who will ruin everything who just happens to have supreme power

e: i hate to go immediately to north korea but look at their line of increasingly useless leaders the only feasible replacement for which will be a cabal of backstabbing generals in turn opposed by other factions of high ranking military who think they should be the ones running thing

A Fucking Little Island Person'a gonna chime in here since buddyboy Makoy is invoked up here.

Marcos is basically a tyrant during his administration. He killed dissidents through summsry execution, installed something close to an oligarchic system, imposed curfew and restricted lots of freedoms that were enjoyed pre-Martial law. He pretty much paved the way for the current shit state of the Philippines.

There's a reason why Filipinos today hate the guy.

You give only a handful of succesful dictatorships. The world is ruled by succesful democracies. For every succesful dictatorships you can give, there are ten succesful democracies. Democracy yields more reliable results.

He uses secret assassins to kill wanted drug lords if strike 3* is reached, He imposes strict laws against smoking and speeding, And He's literally the most awesome mayor in the Philippines
Luckily, He is running for presidency in next year's Elections, which makes me and others in his fandom very excited.

*strike 3 - the 3rd time he/she gets caught in the act of pushing/doing drugs

Funny enough, those secret assassins are doing the people a favor, by ridding the place of drug in their ociety.

P.S: He made a tourist(from another PH island) swallow a cig butt for smoking in a no smoking area(the tourist was scolded by a store owner who knew the mayor personally, and he answered rudely, so there you go) 8) )

That's story's disputable. If it's even probanly not true, the idea of holding your balls at gunpoint and forcing you to swallow a cigarette for being an obnoxious dick is horribly disproportionate.

probably the #3 problem with dictatorships or really extra-judicial killings by definition would be there is no guarantee they're going to just kill people you don't like and they were 100% guilty i swear guys.

They make their nation better, safer and cleaner.

If you happen to belong to the group of people that the dictator has decided can exist, sure.

And I condemn the USA for taking actions against them for no real reason.

The USA has supported, created and actively encouraged dictatorships across the world.

Surveillance is needed for the people to feel safer and be safer in public areas like airports, train terminals, etc.

This is a sort of valid point, however this surveillance can (and does) occur in countries that are not run by a dictator.

The OP seems to have a real shortage of evidence to convince anyone else of the joys of living under a dictator.

If that story is true, that man should be arrested and tried for using his powers abusively. Like mentioned above, that action is horribly disproportionate. Especially when dealing with a tourist, who can be forgiven for not knowing local law. So, de remind me, what do we think of people with power who come to exact petty revenge for certain friends? This is against the spirit of any law.
