The year is 1942, January 1st. WW2 is in full swing with the allies waging an intensifying war against the axis. Both sides of the conflict are attempting to create super weapons in order to out due the other side. The geniuses, and mad men... and out right lunatics, have been employed by every nation in the conflict and they have all begun to research into a number of fields such as: Robotics, Genetic engineering, Magic, and a whole host of other thus far shunned sciences are now being researched in the name of military might. You are a servant of your country, either a scientist/general looking to field these monstrous new weapons of war on the battlefield, or you are a member of an elite national fighting force dedicated to mastering these weapons and using them on the battlefield yourself... But... there may be an unforeseen enemy, working in the shadows of this conflict. Always be on the look out for this enemy... but most importantly of all, WIN THIS WAR!
As I have said above, you are to take the role of either a scientist/general whom develops and fields, and commands his technology on the battlefield ( while maneuvering through internal politics); or you can be a field operative, an elite soldier meant to test these super weapons and to master them. Either class will have very specific roles in this RP. Note, that each nation may only descend down one technological path: for example, a nation cannot look into magic and robotic technology. Now, although a big part of this RP will be fielding the technology on the main battlefield, the biggest part will be fighting the elite units from the other nations. Each elite unit will be fielded and directly operated by operatives and their on field commanders, whom in turn receive their orders from their general/scientist, whom in turn receives their orders from a department chief.
Operative: You can chose one of two positions, Commander or grunt. Commanders act as the tactical on site leader of the squad giving orders in the trenches. The grunts carry those orders out. Operatives will do the vast majority of the fighting in this RP, against NPC armies, and against other elite squads. You are the super soldiers, possessing what ever weapons your scientist/generals give you.
Scientist/General: You are the one creating these wonder technologies. You travel across the world finding the materials you need in order to create and test your experiments. You will be the one coordinating the elite squads missions. As an added bonus, you will have to compete with your position among other scientist/generals in your nation. If they elect to kick you from the project, then you will no longer be able to command the elite force on their missions. When creating your super weapons, make them within reason... nothing that would blow our military today out of the water. You want to turn your soldiers into vampires, fine... but you cannot give them head exploding abilities. Also, try not to invent a bajillion things at once.
