Party at Fontainebleau (DM/TG to Enter)

It was snowing.

The beautiful Palais du Fontainebleau was covered with snow as the building glowed with warmth. It rarely snowed in Derita, even this far north. The last time it had snowed at Fontainebleau, the children had been so young. That had been in 2043 the King-Emperor remembered.

Christopher II of Derita the mighty King-Emperor, thought of the days when all his children had been so young. He smiled as he thought of that winter 13 years ago. His eldest son, Crown Prince André had been only eight and his wife had been plump with his youngest son, King Ferdinand II of Romania. The girls had been 7, 5 and 3. What great times those had been.

Now everything was so very different. Three of his children were already monarchs of their own nations, and two of them were married. His oldest daughter, Queen Anna Victoria was a mother and the King-Emperor a grandfather. How amazing was that. Little Nicki, his wife's precious grandson. It brought a smile to his face.

The one year old King Nicolas I of Denmark-Norway, as currently only the grandchild of the King-Emperor of Derta and Empress of Russlande was adored. However that would soon possibly change. The Queen of Finland was once again pregnant with child. It was delightful.

Christopher II stood up from his favorite chair in his office and looked to the great fine windows of the palace. He smiled at the long snow covered road that lead up to the massive palace. This party was to be lavish, it was to be perfect and needed to be. Deritains too such events like this very seriously, parties were often time were great choices and beautiful events in history happened.

The grand celebration was in honor of the end of the wars in the Iberian Peninsula, wars that the King-Emperor's son had fought in. Luckily the Crown Prince of Derita had gotten through the terrible ordeal without injury save a few brushes from being so close to combat. He knew he never should have allowed it, but André had convinced him, and things had almost spiraled out of control towards the end, but the Duc d'Angoulême had saved the day.

The King-Emperor walked away from the window and out into the hall. The Palais du Fontainebleau had not been the man residence of an Emperor of Derita since the reign of Emperor Allan the Great. King-Emperor Christopher II's grandfather, Almahn the Great has disliked the palace. And for decades the Imperial Family instead lived in ether Port Victoria or Grenelefe.

But when Crown Prince André had been born, born after so many long years of waiting, so many years of anxiety over the succession of the throne, Christopher II and Elizabeth both agreed that they needed a cozier family home. And Fontainebleau had been it. Now the King-Emperor spent eight months out of the year in the northern palace.

And the Palais du Fontainebleau itself had changed up Christopher II's guidance. New wings and buildings and gardens and canals and greenhouses and apartments had all been added. The palace had more than tripled in size since 2000, though the process hadn't started until 2036.

The hall was bright, covered in marble and lights, the darkness of outside beefing thrown to the outskirts of the estate as lights filled the atmosphere around them. He smiled as he walked along a balcony that looked down into the ballroom, the theme of the party had been Été de la Victoire, the period of time from 2017-2020 and again fro 2029-2031.
Image

It was all lovely and warm, the nobles in their best dress, they were very much like the latest fashions, for the women their dresses were long and following, they wore heels or boots, gloves, and their hair loose and long, which was only now once again becoming popular. For the me it was various color suits, black, blue, gray as well as white and sliver. Many had gloves and sashes, and they mimicked the King-Emperor, growing small mustaches or light beards.

He saw both the old and the young nobles in attendance, no one in the Imperial Court would dare miss a party of the King-Emperor's. He threw the largest ad the best and the most important ones.

Christopher II trolled downstairs along the grand spiral staircase down to the ballroom and walked past several notable guests, such as Lady Henrietta Maria, a favorite of King Dowager Etienne who had wished for her to marry his son. He then past the aging Jonathan LeCastle, grandfather and great-grandfather of royals from Great Hyruke to Rhine-East Berlin to Genes. The 103 old former Prime Minister, whilst leaning heavily on to his cane smiled at the King-Emperor.

Next he strolled towards the front door of the ballroom passing nobles who over and over again and again bowed and curtsied to him. He waved it off as if it were nothing. He had ground use to such loyalty and regal nature long ago when he had been 12.

He remembered times that thousands had feared him, before he had become ruler, when no one dare speak in turn of him in fear. He had been a cruel and harsh Crown Prince. How very different of a ruler he had become. Now billions loved him, and no one dare speak in turn of him out of respect and admiration.

He loved that. The King-Emperor's majordomo stood tall in a flamboyant white and green uniform with grand feathers sprouting up from his hat, calling the names and titles of each guest who arrived. King-Emperor Christopher II stood firmly with his ceremonial cane that he didn't really need and was greeted with each new arriving guest.

Clementine, Jade, and Ava sat in the back sit on the way to the palace. They had just left Port Victoria on a shopping trip and they were all more than ready to be at this lavish social event. Clementine was also excited to see her husband Fredrick. She was finishing her finally semester and the both of them were very busy. After graduating she would take a 6 month break before going to work as an adviser for Rear Admiral Tyson Lokia. She wanted to spend as much time with her husband as possible during those 6 months.

Jade was young a vibrant, a blossoming flower. She was a sophomore at the University of Southern Kai. She was very happy and a socialite. The often appeared on entertainment news in North Timeria. She really loved spending time with her girl cousins, this kind of trips gave her a break. She also enjoyed teasing her cousin Ava ”Hey A… One day you might be prettier than me... “ A laughed and pulled her hair over her shoulder. ”Well I’m pretty sure that happened yesterday.” They all laughed in the back seat as they approached the palace. It never snowed in North Timeria except for in the high mountains of Forever. They all looked out the window.

Ava had been given the nickname A by her cousin Jade. t fit her, considering both her middle and first name started with the letter. A enjoyed spending time with her cousins and being in Derita made it even better. A was often disappointed by the conflicts between their governments. She was rare, the only person in the entire world with Uchiha and Volonte blood. She felt special and that it was her destiny to bring the 2 nations together. She looked over the land.

The car came to a stop and they all rushed out to get out of the cold. A was a Deritan but she was also a Timerian and the cold didn’t suit her that well.

The royal motorcade of the Queen of the Kingdom of Genes travelled from the city of Melun south to the Palais du Fontainebleau. Queen Adela adored her original home of Derita, though it was still second to the United Kingdom of Genes. She had arrived in Melun several days before, she hated when she had to go to one of these events straight from going through travel. Then her children had arrived afterwards with her three oldest grandchildren.

Queen Adela was dressed in a beautiful sliver and light sky blue dress. Silver earrings hung from her ears and diamonds on her slightly graying hair and around her slim neck. She was 69 years old and she looked well for her age, she was still healthy and fit. She held her dear third husband's hand as they pulled up towards to palace. Prince Consort Luitpold was dressed simply. His suit was black and blue with a beautiful ascot and a beige jacket.

The Queen of Genes looked out the window and smiled at the sight of all of the snow. Queen Adela had never had one opinion or another on the cold weather and found it beautiful. Queen Adela grinned as the limousine past by a tree line and saw a glimpse of the glowing palace that was her cousin's beautiful palace. She grinned slightly and turned around away from the window and gave Prince Consort Luitpold a small kiss on the cheek.

In the second limousine road the four children of the Queen of Genes and her two children-in-laws. The Grand Dauphin, Frederick and the Grandé Dauphiné, Christiné were, like Queen Adela, dressed to impress. Grand Dauphin Frederick wore a nice navy blue suit and a emerald ascot and a green and blue sash across his chest and a waist sash as well.. His dear wife Christiné wore a light peach and gold Victoire Belle dress with a matching green and royal blue sash. A small tiara rested on her head.

Next to them sat Prince Roi of Condé and his wife Princess Natalie of Condé. Prince Roi was smiling, repeatedly kissing his wife every once in a while. He wore a similar suit to that of Grand Dauphin Frederick's, expect his ascot was red with a beautiful blue Pearl pin in it. A green and blue sash went across his chest. Princess Natalie of Condé meanwhile wore a darling yellow Victoire Belle dress as well, with pearls and diamonds that Roi had bought for her and in her hair were lovely yellow ribbons.

The last two royal family members of Genes in the limousine were Queen Sophie of Poland, though her and her husband were separated. The only thing that kept the divorce from being official was the reluctance of the Pope himself. Sophie wore a long flowing pink and white dress, her caramel color hair long and flowing while small golden earrings dangled slightly. Over the dress she wore a long white fur lined coat and cape, even her high heel boots were covered in fur. She smiled at looking at her brother Roi and his wife, her own husband's sister.

The last was King Frederick Augustus IV, the King of Saxony, who instead of the classical dress of his siblings, he wore a all white and greened uniform with golden buttons and black boots. A deep emerald sash went across his chest and his small mustache trimmed and smooth.

In the last limousine was Grand Dauphin Frederick's children, the Queen of Genes's grandchildren. The oldest was Petit Dauphin Frederick. Frederick had his smooth hair groomed to perfection and his suit perfectly polished from his black suit and coat to his gloves.

Princess Royal Elisé wore a pretty finely made silk Victoire Belle pink and purple dress with a silky cape to go along with the dress. A golden circlet was in Elisé's cinnamon brown hair, which was styled curly and loose behind her back and draped over one shoulder.

Prince Royal Philippe, a handsome light brown haired man blinked at the sky. He wore a white dress shirt and a stylish brown trousers. A stylish matching brown waistcoat with gold buttons covered the white shirt and his torso. Around his neck was a gold and white mail coach tie not was done, something that had taken an hour and a half to get done correctly. He wore a brown frock coat with gold thread lining over it which reached almost his knees.

Up in the private wing of the Palais du Fontainebleau Princess Anana Joséphina of Derita smiled at herself in the mirror of her room. Her sisters Queen Alice and Queen Anne Victoria were finishing up on making their 16 year old sister look wonderful for the party. Alice was only 18 and Anne Victoria, nicknamed Avi was only 20. The Queen of Finland finished tying a pink ribbon in her sister's long curly cinnamon color hair that reached past her shoulders. Anana smiled and jumped up from her chair and giggling at her sister.

"Oh thank you Avi"

"It is not a problem Anana."

The youngest daughter of the King-Emperor smiled and twirled around smiling, her dress swiping around her. Anana Joséphina smiled as two over her family's friends entered the room, the older one was Ki, a young noblewoman at age 20, and girlfriend of the Crown Prince of Derita. Ki was very lovely, her face like a lovely statue and her long hair the most interesting thing about her, it was thick and smooth with streaks of gray in it.

The other was Lady Adélaïde, who was only 16 like Anana Joséphina. She wore a nice simple red dress, her hair covered in red ribbons. Adélaïde smiled and clapped at her friend's beautiful sight.

Princess Anana Joséphina wore a long dress that was gold and white, matching the other King-Emperor's daughters. The three young Royal women were all lovely, and smiled as they admired each other's outfits and hair. The Queen of Finland clapped as she opened Princess Anana Joséphina's room door and waved them to come out into the hallway. They jumped around as they headed down the hall laughing.

"You all look wonderful, father will be pleased."

"Yes, hopefully it won't be just old fuddy duddy royals who do nothing."

Lady Adélaïde laughed a little.

"I here Prince Philippe is coming and everyone know's he his a charmer."

Anana Joséphina gasped in teasing surprise and and hit her friend's arm.

"That is my cousin! Stay away. I don't think I could live if you spoke to the Prince Royal of Genes."

"Whatever."

The group of girls and the two queens walked quickly to the staircase that would take them out of the wing of the palace and to where the party was being held when they noticed motorcades arriving down the lane. They crowded the window and smiled.

"Avi look, I wonder who is inside."

"Well, from the looks of one of those groups, it seems to be Auntie Adela. And that means Adélaïde should get excited, cause that means Prince Philippe isn't too far behind."

The girl swooned in delight whilst the rest of them laughed.

"Tsk tsk."

The five royals and nobles turned around in surprise as the masculine voice that was behind them. They relaxed to see that it was simply Crown Prince André, the oldest of the King-Emperor's beloved children. He stepped forward to them and smiled and Anana Joséphina and Adélaïde rolled their eyes and walked away followed by Queen Anne Victoria and Queen Alice. Only Ki stayed behind and she stepped forward to André. He pulled her close and they spun around smiling, her dress twirling around her small frame.

"Hi."

"Hi."

The two simply smiled at each other until André snapped out of his daze as servants below rang bells telling of the guests arrival.

"We should do, father will kill if I am late."

"He would never kill you. Though he might exile you to Switzerland."

A and her cousins entered the palace. Ava wore a beautiful light purple dress. The dress was more modern and a little more electric but it was also classy and noble. Once inside she felt a lot better being out of the cold. She was so excited to see her Volonte family. She loved being in Derita just as much as she loved being in Timeria. They were both such beautiful places with beautiful people. She took in a deep breath and spun around. She then proceeded to greet her family.

The Reutoan delegation arrived at the Palais du Fontainebleau, their private town cars pulling up to the snow covered palace excitedly. King Consort John of Finland was the most excited of his brother and father. His beautiful wife Queen Anna Victoria was there and the Deritain palace was so much warmer and family oriented than the palace back in Finland. John wore full Finnish regalia with a lovely black and gold uniform and a golden crown. Prinz Wilhelm meanwhile wore a great brand new black and grey suit with a grey on grey ascot and had a pearl pin in it. Kaiser Wilhelm-Heinrich II wore a black and blue suit with a yellow sash over his chest.

The King-Emperor's majordomo ordered the servants to start music, soft lulling music began to play through out the ballroom. The Majordomo stood tall and stiff and announced the arrival of a royal guest.

"Her Highness, Princess Ava Annabella of North Timeria and Her Hghness Princess Jade of North Timeria."

King-Emperor Christopher II smiled at his cousin, though he would just call her a niece out of a way to make addressing her. He smiled at her politely, but was cut off from trying to speak by her mother, Princess Marie Karoline. The Princess was dressed in a shining light green dress that covered the vast majority of her body. She smiled at her daughter.

"Ah, my little Annabella! Darling, how was your shop trip with Jade?"

She didn't like her daughter's nickname of A and rathered her middle name of Annabella. She smiled at her daughter, fussing over invisible bits of imperfection, brushing off her shoulders and trying to fix her hair.

The Connurist delegation was small as it always had been as they arrived at the stunning Palais du Fontainebleau. It was unlike anything that could be found back home, but Europe, and perhaps Derita in particular, always had been the home of the most fantastic and regal buildings to stand anywhere. Of course, the Connurists could call Switzerland their territory now, but the Empress had always found smaller villas to be cosier and more homely.

Switzerland had, however, given the Empress and her son, the Crown Prince, an opportunity to get used to and build a tolerance to the cold. It had also meant that it had not been a far trip for the two of them either, which was good - Empress Alice had never been a fan of long flights and the such, especially now without a husband to pass the time with. She was looking forward to the event - and if not for the prospect of mixing with other nobles and such, it would be the opportunity her son had to meet others. He may have only been thirteen, but that did not mean he was exactly a child. He had his duties and with the strong guidance of his mother he was mature and charismatic - and tonight, he truly looked like a royal. He lacked the height and the voice of a grown man but compensated with a sharp fitting evening suit. It was all complemented with a watch owned by his late father, a leather piece that was elegant in its simplicity and naturally told the time flawlessly.

His mother, on the other hand, wore a fantastic black dress underneath a warm brown fur coat. This whole thing was enough to put a genuine smile on her face which was not a common occurrence these days. Alice had became a woman of 50 this very year but she still retained the beauty she was famous for thirty years ago when she’d married the Emperor. The main difference was that the brown eyes now concealed pain and discontent, otherwise she had aged finely.

It was with that they entered.

The King-Emperor's face was light and warm with delight. Christopher II was an infamous megalomaniac, and a man of loving himself. He grinned at John and then looked to John's father, the Reutoan Kaiser.

"Oh this is just a little project of mine, no big deal."

This of course was a understatement, Palais du Fontainebleau was massive and every chair, every tile ever wall was a artistic masterpiece. It was more than a little project, it was the Imperial Family's unofficial home.

Les Etats Connuriste wrote:The Connurist delegation was small as it always had been as they arrived at the stunning Palais du Fontainebleau.

"Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Alice of Les Etats Connuriste. His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Conner."

The King-Emperor's attention was drawn to the Majordomo as he called the names of the next guests. So these were their neighbors to the east. He had been curious about the empress of the LEC, and was delighted to finally meet her. He pause his conversation to the Reutoan in-laws and looked to the new arrivals.

"Pleasure to meet you Your Imperial Majesty."

King Consort Jöhn of Finland smiled at his father-in-law, he liked Christopher II, the King-Emperor, the Emperor's Nation had Style and Class, which he liked, he wanted to bring that to his realm, Finland, which was cold, dark, and depressing, he bowed at the King-Emperor and said "Your Majesty, it's a pleasure as well to see you to"

Kaiser Wilhelm-Henrich II smiled at his son, Jöhn, along with his brother, Wilhelm were the Social People of the Schmitz Clan, and that had come in handy, Jöhn got himself married to the Queen of Finland, a Daughter of the Empress of Russlande, which Reutoa currently had a very good relationship with. He walked up with his cane in his right hand and bowed slowly, yet with ease and said "Christopher, what a beautiful palace you have, truly a sight", Prinz Wilhelm III walked over as well and bowed, he loved Derita, the Mistress of the World as he thought of the Country

King Consort Jöhn II smiled and simply nodded, his father however, looked at his cousin-in-law and said "Well, I would say your little project was a very good success Christopher, me and my sons were in awe as we drove down the road"

Christopher II laughed gently, causing the dozens up dozens of noblemen and noblewomen to looked over to the group to see what was going on to amuse the King-Emperor, a person they all practical worship. In truth some people in the country real had started to worship Christopher II as a god, including some of the nobles there at the party. Not since 1999 some 57 years earlier had the nation faired so well for them.

"Everyone says that, you flatter me."

"The pleasure is all mine." replied the Empress, curtseying politely. She didn't feel like she needed to but this was Christopher's country and he was the King-Emperor. She'd be lying if she said she fully understand the title but it did sound more important than Empress. Regardless, she wished to remain in his and therefore Derita's good books, especially considering recent deals. "This is my son." she added, gesturing towards the boy who was currently bowing.

"I must say that this is one of the finest buildings I have ever been lucky enough to step foot in. And the location, it is so beautiful, and more so given the current weather, don't you agree?"

"It was wonderful... We had a really great time." Annabella replied to her husband. Just as she was talking Clementine entered the room. "Hello everyone, it's a pleasure seeing you. Would anyone know if Fredrick has arrived yet?" Clementine asked. Annabella shook her head as her mother tried to fix her hair. Jade waved at everyone and began to blush. They were all here together for the first time in a long time.

Annabella then asked her mother where her father was.

Princess Marie looked finished messing with her daughter's hair and turned around.

"Oh, your father was just..."

She trailed off, not remembering where she had just last seen her husband. Her face turned up in frustration looking for Alex in the crowd. She thought in horror that she might need glasses, abs she turned around back to her dear Annabella.

"You know your father, I think he is off speaking with your Uncle Napolean and something or another."

King-Emperor Christopher II smiled at Empress Alice. He wasn't sure why, but she reminded him a great deal of that of one of his very favorite cousins, Queen Caroline. They both seem to carry an air of power and refinement but yet at the same time were polite and ground to earth in nature and in social formality. Perhaps this is what Caroline would be like the next thirty years. Hmmmm, he thought to himself.

"Thank you, you are too kind to my humble home. And as for the location, yes, it is quite stunning. It was here that an ancestor of mind and his favorite hound named Bleau stumbled upon a clear clean creek. A Fontaine, and so he named the spot Fontainebleau."

He loved architecture and he adored history and that was perhaps why he had become drawn to the palace that was the beauty of Fontainebleau. It had a history and it was visually stunning. His great great grandfather, Emperor Allan the Great had been the one to improve upon the chateau that it had been. Christopher II had simply continued that process to make it triple in size and in grandeur. He wanted his children, who had been raised there to understand who they were and the great power that they held.

With Derita being an absolute monarchy, the King-Emperor welded all of the power, should he choose he could raise taxes, execute innocents and start a war, and no one would be able to stop him. Sure, the nation had a constitution, but the King-Emperor saw it as an outdated piece of paper that served more like a guild line book rather than something of actual political weight. He had the best of everything, everything was his. Christopher II was the State.

"I am honored to have some admire this beautiful place."

"You would be surprised. You know some of the people in the country have actually started to worship. Quite strange in my opinion, but I shall not fight someone's beliefs."

Queen Anne Victoria entered the ballroom and walked quickly over to her father's side and smiled at her husband King Consort John of Finland and took his hand gently. As she was the Queen, her hand was to be on top of course, and she pulled him over to her side and kissed his cheek. The Queen of Finland smiled at her father and brother-in-law

"Hello."
