The Smell of Napalm (IC/Pre-MT/Ausozera Only)

Postby Free Asian Ports » Mon Oct 26, 2015 8:29 pm

The jungles of Canaam teem with life, from trees to insects to tigers hiding in the brush. It also teemed with insurgents, who crawled through hastily made trails in the jungle. Trails like these wound through the jungle, connecting arms depots and bases of operations for the CCC. Around the village of Da Phok, thousands of soldiers gathered. They had gained the assistance of the village elders and were preparing to strike out at a nearby government stronghold. It was a small forward operating base, manned by no more than a couple hundred soldiers. They stalked to their rally points, as the generals planned their attack. To that end, a number of mortars were set up, ready to suppress the government forces.

Meanwhile, a company of FAP Marines was getting ready to leave a FOB on a regular patrol. The Hueys were spinning up their rotor blades, while the marines lined up for an equipment check. The FAP was the first supporter of the Canaam government, as a major trade partner the FAP was heavily invested in the stability of the Canaam government. It could not be allowed to fall, lest more lucrative trading partners fall to Communism...

The fleet of Helicopters could be heard from miles around the jungle. They're thumping of the air and jet engines echoed in the silent darkness of the jungle. This fleet of helicopters had the banner of the Empire on the side of their tail and various other customizations painted on before leaving the FOB. The Marines inside rocked inside as they observed the green growth below them and the shining rivers and rice patis in the sun. It was almost serene and peaceful had they not known their true reasoning why they were here. To supress a communist uprising in some Asian country no one probably even knew existed. To walk in a enemy infested wet Jungle in the middle of no where in the name of democracy. These Marines and Rangers didn't really grasp the politics behind it. They just did as they were told, shot at what they were told shoot at, given what they were told take. They hadn't yet experienced the terrors below them flying past at high speeds. On the tail of one of the rotors, something was written and below it was a fire ball shaped into a skull.

"Welcome to Canaam." it said.

Fathiyya of Camaan

Postby Azenyanistan » Tue Oct 27, 2015 6:11 am

No mercy. No prisoners. A knight of the family of Anolak, hailing from Azenyanistan, cannot show mercy to her or his enemies. Not even to women or men or children. No mercy. There cannot be mercy. Because if you give mercy, yhey will rise up against you once more. And no one wants a long living foe.

Recited Fathiyya, an Arab and an Azen from the Anolak family from Azenyanistan, in her mind as she reviewed the documents that she was given to by secret soldiers of another Azen commander who were in Camaan. She hated rebels, hated communism, hated enemies, hated anything that had the intention of doing bad things to her or to anyone she really really was devoted to. No one can be allowed to stand in her way. It is her will.

She had, in her command, companies, divisions and battalions of men, several squadrons, a few formations of armored units and so on. Good. she thought, putting them away. She walked out of her office and went outside. Still in Azenyanistan. She sighed and simply wandered around in the base that she handled.

Meanwhile in Camaan...

Azens were in Camaan, both as secret soldiers or as civilians. And those civilians were in danger. Most of them lived in the capital city anyway. But some lived outside and reports of Azen workers being kidnapped, ransomed, killed and so on for the communist cause have been spread to the Azens that this was going to be very bad. This ticked them off really really bad.

Back in Azenyanistan...

Fathiyya Anolak received her aide into her office, telling her

"There is not be any more delays or waiting or even inaction. Ask the government for permission that I may go into Camaan...and crush these communists. We have not done anything yet. So right now....we must act. Tell them that I will give...no mercy."

The Esgonian contingent arrives to the nation of Canaam as they immediately get everything ready, Bases set, Operations planned, and important supply lines secured. Unfortunately for a unit of the Spadochinarz Battalion 46 (46th Paratrooper Battalion), which were supposed to be supporting a supply unit, they have miscalculated their drop and ended up landing behind enemy lines, what they had with them were a truck full of food and munitions and 4 jeeps, two of them mounted with M1919's. Now they have a grueling task to march their way back to the main lines, hoping that the CCC won't find them.

Image

"Dobra, zatrzymajmy tutaj teraz." Shouts the Captain as the convoy stops to take a rest, they had been marching for several hours and feared that the communists were now on their heels. He then asks the officer as he sips from his canteen. "Do you see anything?" The Officer shook his head and replies, "No, Captain." The Captain sighs in frustration, and laments. "Fucking grass. Fucking heat. Fucking country." then all of a sudden, something hits the Officer's field cap. he tries to wipe what was in his cap and finds blood on his hands, then he turns to the Captain's side, staring in horror as he goes down and watches the bullet hole in his head. Soon after, something explodes from behind them.

"SOUND THE TRUMPET!" The officer frantically shouts at the bugler. The bugler tries to play the Battle Phase on his trumpet when he gets shot in the neck. "TAKE COVER, TAKE COVER!" He then shouts at the others as another of their jeeps gets destroyed, burning the occupants. The sound of whistles were then heard and out came a horde of CCC fighters, who had already observed their movements for a long time. The communist fighters lay out automatic fire as the Paratroopers return fire with their Mauselia G86's and M1 Thompsons, in which they were outgunned and outnumbered. They continued to hold their ground as they kept coming from both sides as the officer shouts orders to the paratroopers on where they would focus their fire on. "HOLD THE LIIINE!" he shouts as he takes down 2 of of the fighters with his High-Power. The paratroopers inside the remaining jeeps lay down a barrage of fire with their mounted M1919's but was short-lived as the fighters have already overrun them and were all shot and killed. The Officer continued to shout orders to the remaining paratroopers as he gets the nearest radio and reports to HQ "WE'RE BEING OVERRUN, SEND HELP NO-" but was stabbed from behind by a bayonet from a CCC commander, the firefight lasted for about 8 minutes before the fighters have taken the Paratrooper's position.

Image

The Paratroopers lay down on the ground as they were held at gunpoint by the rebels. The commander then takes the bugle from the bugler laying on the ground with his neck shot as he pleads not to get killed. One of the fighters approaches the commander and says "So, do we take prisoners?" The commander replied sternly "No. Kill them all, and they would soon stop coming." Complying with the order, the fighter then takes aim at the bugler, and fires. The entire unit was destroyed and all of their belongings and supplies have been taken.

In a meeting room in a military base in Eredion:
General Trielec walked in the conference room, filled with 5 commanders and their officers and lots of smoke.
"General" the commanders said relaxed while saluting.

"Rühren" the general let them at ease.

Plans and maps were being brought in, about jungle terrain, camouflage patterns of the own troops and allied troops and information about the known dangerous animals and diseases in the country called "Canaam".

The general took out a big, fat cigar, lit it with a match, got it smoking and said to his man: "Right boys this is it, Canaam, you will hear this word quite often from now on and in multiple languages as well, you will be leading our expedition into Canaam to support the revolutionary forces to overthrow their local, useless government, it is a open fight, no secrecy for us, the revolutionaries are high in numbers and have big support from the rural population and especially the poor, so make sure to tell all your men to limit their casualties as much as possible, or blame it on government forces."

"And whats the prime objective?" The commander of the 15th Infantry division asked.

"Support the revolutionaries with every and all means necessary. Do not waste time and resources on prisoners, if the revolutionaries win, those prisoners will be dealt with."

"Got it, Sir." everybody agreed as they started to leave the conference room and drive back to their bases to inform their troops about the next deployment.

Landing Zone Aramauhge, 10:00 AM CMST.

The Helicopters slowly lost speed and altitude as they approached Landing Zone Aramauhge. It was a flat grassland surrounded by hills and jungles. The area in which they landed had a small rocky flat nearby and behind it was the deep, dark jungle. Elsewhere, the hills could be seen from miles until it was cut off by the low fog that traveled across the jungle. A photographer would have taken a picture, sent it back to his family in Tutten with a "Be back soon!" Written on it in black pen. Canaam was beautiful when there wasn't explosions scattering body parts or napalm burning through the lush vegetation. Maybe it was just Hemre, the company's Obveneluenst. Hemre swore that a war wasn't being fought here. Between the scenery and nice women. He couldn't see anything else to fight for. Not resources, not some unjustice, nor Monarchy, just politics. A petty fight between Democracy and Communism.

But his reason for fighting became clear as a yellow flash popped from the leaves behind the rock flat. He saw this as he jumped off the helicopter while it was about to land on the ground. A loud crack followed as a a red mist spewed forth from a mans chest just now getting out of his seat. It was as if it was in slow motion. Instinctively as he hit the ground he dropped to the dirt below the tall grass. Above him the man who was hit had fallen into the helicopter now laying on the flat bed between seats bleeding onto the metal. The shouting orders of other Eluenst and the Boghaim who lead the company. Their orders just a blurred noise in the back round as he focused on his own platoon of 50 men. He stood up and fired two shots with his VAR-1 an early Assault Rifle used by the Donnish Millitary. The pops of the gun distinctive from the enemies AK-47's. He saw the rounds fly out of the side of the gun as he crouched back down and hit the Helicopter twice with his palm telling the pilot to get out.

Hemre turned his attention to his platoon as the helicopters lifted off and flew into the distant fog of the jungle. He crawled through the dense grass as rounds flew over being exchanged from both sides. The AK-47 fire grew louder and he knew more were there. "Cavorel Ermzt!" Hemre said as he grabbed his leg. He was standing up in the grass making him a clear target. He wouldnt last long "Get on the ground!" Ermzt looked down and as he did a bullet tore through his throat and he fell backwards. "Sabet!" He cursed as he pushed himself up into a crouching position still below the long grass. They were alone now, the helicopters had to get refueled before they could come back and Medevac anyone. The yells for "Gecidinic!" Donnish for medic began to be heard all around him. A young man now crouched through the long grass passing infront of Hemre. He was carrying a radio and he recognized his face. He grabbed his shoulder and stopped him now putting his hand on his netted helmet with leaves and other things stuck in between. "Fednick, get HQ on the radio and tell them that were under heavy fire, atleast 10 casualties."

Fednick nodded once and turtle ed to his radio. He operated it and went to the frequency needed. "LZ Aramauhge to HQ, we're taking casualties and request assistance. Ten casualtie-" as he spoke another man fell to his left bleeding from his right lower leg. "Eleven casualties. Requesting support."

FOB Elizabeth

The roar of combat jets waiting for takeoff overwhelmed any other noise on the entire base. Host to the vast majority of the 1st Cavalry Division and the 29th Armor Brigade, the base was populated by thousands of white soldiers fighting an asian revolution. Of course the reality of the war hadn't dawned on them yet however as very few of them had even been on combat missions yet. In fact, the only soldiers on base who had experienced combat were the air crews, as two aircraft had already been lost to ground fire.

Major General Lankins was enjoying the air conditioning in the communications building, a huge difference from the baking tarmac outside when the messages came in. ""WE"RE BEING OVERRUN, SEND HELP NO-" He jumped to his feet, nearly knocking over his chair. "Who the hell was that? We haven't even deployed combat troops yet. Give me a location on that message, stat." Not even five minutes later, another transmission came over the radios in the building. "LZ Aramauhge to HQ, we're taking casualties and request assistance. Ten casualtie-Eleven casualties. Requesting support." He had been reading the sheet of paper a technician had given him on the first transmission when he heard the second. "Dammit, today's a busy day. I want Skyhawks in the air now, close air support mission. Napalm. First message came from the Esgonians but we haven't had anything else from them. Scramble Bravo Company of the 1st, get them airborne and get some gunships up there now. I want to know what happened to the Esgonians."

A corporal began to relay the orders over his radio, and several minutes later a flight of A-4 Skyhawks jetted by on the runway temporarily deafening everyone in the room. "Sir, Bravo Company is airborne, ETA twenty mikes. Air support mission designated Angel Flight is airborne, ETA seven mikes."

Angel 1

As the flight neared the area of the embattled LZ, he brought his aircraft in low over the jungle and looked out of the cockpit trying to get a better grasp of the situation. The pinging of small arms fire off his aircraft as he flew over told him all he needed to know. "Angel Flight, drop attack markers." Several aircraft flew in, dropping flares at the boundaries of the LZ while the rest of the flight amassed overhead. "Angel Flight, clear to engage. Target anything outside of the boundary." Angels 7 and 9 swooped in on the eastern edge of the boundary, screaming in with guns firing as 20mm projectiles shredded the jungle growth. Angel 8 swooped in afterwards, dropping napalm and devastating the area of the jungle with over 9,000 pounds of napalm. Angels 7 and 9 came back for another pass, firing Zuni rockets into the undergrowth. Angels 4, 5 and 6 took the northern perimeter, Angels 2, 3 and himself taking the western perimeter and Angels 10, 11 and 12 taking the south. By the time their payloads were used up, the amount of fire the LZ was taking had decreased massively, only periodic bursts of small arms fire targeting the Donnish troops.

Warhawk 1

The sleek AH-1 Cobra with a stylized mouth of shark teeth on it's nose swooped over the scene of destruction below. The wrecks of jeeps still blazed while the bodies of Esgonian troops were scattered at random on the ground. It was obvious what had happened here, and they were simply far too late to do anything except secure the bodies and belongings. He circled the area several more times, taking no ground fire before clearing the flight of Hueys to land. The nine Hueys inserted in a clearing, the cavalry troopers cautiously sweeping the area before advancing to the site of the ambush.

"Warhawk, this is Bravo Lead. They're all dead, nothing left. We're going to round up what we can and get their bodies out of here, so get comfy." At this point, fresh Chinooks were arriving and landing at the makeshift LZ. Bravo Company bagged the remains of the Esgonian soldiers, including the officer who seemed to have been bayoneted at point blank range and the trumpeter missing half of his throat. The scene was plain disgusting and the fact that there were no survivors only told him that the damned rebels had taken no prisoners. Half an hour later, the remaining equipment too large to carry had been destroyed with explosive charges and Bravo Company was once again airborne heading back to the FOB to process the bodies and get them returned to their native country.

O Virgin Pure, your name be Mary, though you are holy, guide us in our endeavors and might Camaan feel the wrath of Azenyanistan that her communists may fade away from this world with your assistance. Might your greatness be more than the armies of heaven. Amen.

Prayed a certain Azen before she continued to guide the vehicles carrying the soldiers of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Divisions of the Regular Infantry of Azenyanistan out of their base in Iran and into the highways from where they would travel into the naval bases on the shores of Persia to sail to another part of the world. It was dark and the night was full of talking and the lights of trucks and armored vehicles. And as she guided vehicles out, jets and other parts of Azen airpower flew over her head, filling her with awe and causing her to get goosebumps.

Meanwhile, Fathiyya inspected the 1st and 7th Companies with a chaplain from Tripoli and another from Istanbul, slowly walking past each and every soldier, looking into their faces as they stood attention, rifles on the ground, butts on the ground, muzzles facing up, helmets on their heads, uniforms tidy and on their bodies, keffiyehs around their necks, patches on their arms, so on. After some time, she stopped, walked before them, facing them from the center and told the chaplains to assemble a choir. They did so and they had a choir of 40 men and 80 women. And they allowed them to use the P.A system of the base. Before the 1st and 7th Companies would go and while the Divisions were going, Once Fathiyya saw that all was good and that the night was fertile for many feelings, both unwanted and fearful, she ordered the choir to sing O Virgin Pure in one of the languages they knew: Greek.

And so they sang, as a great number of Azen soldiers, vehicles and vessels became prepared to leave for Camaan, a faraway country with faraway communists with faraway ideals and faraway methods.

Landing on Camaan.

Brotovik grabbed his troops arms one by one helping them out of landing crafts. He looks around if the 13th and 8th landed too. Nothing. Nothing but thick jungle fog which makes it hard for him to light his cigar. "Sergeant Viktor, where the fuck is our transportation?" Brotovik speaks in a thick Latvian accent. "It's delayed...", Viktor flinches his head as if he is going to be hit. "Baargh..." Brotovik grunts, and waves his company of eighty four men around him. "Where the fuck is our communications specialist?", He says eyeing each face and munching of the end of his unlit cigar. "No specialist?", He says slowly as no one speaks out of pure fear. "Heer..e...", a small private says. "Oooh, can you tell me private why I did not know about the delay of transportation?", Brotovik keeps a poker face and sounds calm. "I was playing cards and did not hear it sir...", The private's voice becomes more and more quiet. "Gambling! You gambled these men's life? We now need to walk to our objective, private. For your gift to us, I will gamble your shoes." Brotovik takes out a pair of dice. "I bet 7." He rolls the dice. "2, unfortunate." He takes out his lighter and burns the shoes, he then successfully lights his cigar. "Okay company, we're walking, but that never stops Caracora before!"

Vētra Company began marching, ducking their heads at sounds of jets. The smell of smoke from the designated Delta objective forced Brotovik to head in the direction.

"There's an outpost ahead." A scout told Brotovik. "Twenty maybe twenty men, two MG nests, most riflemen carrying Aks, they look very organized." He said. "We are going to change that." Brotovik answered.

"Alright men, twenty commies are infront of us. They halt our progress inland. What do we do to people who stand in our way?" Brotovik smirked.

"We kill them sir." Sergeant Viktor answered. "Let's do that then."

Viktor took a section around in the thick tree line to flank. Brotovik hit straight on.

FOWARD ASSAULT:
03:15
Commander Brotovik

Brotovik rushed behind a rock as firing broke out. An RPG hit the back of the rock.
The ringing in Brotovik's ears was much louder than the impact, but had no comparison to the silence around him. The silence of men, the men who drop to the ground after charging into the fire of an MG. Men who screamed at the top of their lungs their battle cry to be suddenly silence. The swift silence is deafening. Louder than any rocket. A bullet speeds your heart with adrenaline. The sight of death ceases your heart for a second. The absent of that beat is terribly loud.

"Commander! Viktor took out the MGs! Move up!" A private yelled.
Brotovik grabbed his APS rifle and rushed the outpost, but only saw dead bodies.
"How many we lose?" He asked.
"Too many, ten men, one is too wounded to continue. I order a man to honorably shoot him."
"Bring me his tags, take the dead tags and bury them. Leave the bodies, burn the uniforms." Brotovik said grimly.

"We have coms." The private handed a radio to Brotovik.

"Sveiki." Brotovik blew into the dusty radio.
"Commander, your transportation will not reach you. Push up into the jungle. You will find the 15th. Brotovik your company is the only one who made contact with us. We can't lose you, your recon company is valuable. We have no visuals on what is inside that jungle! Try to avoid combat and keep moving. Out." The radio went static.

"Fuck Camaan." Brotovik threw the radio in the dirt.

FOB Elizabeth, Canaam

Shortly after the reports from the Federationists came in that the bodies were now in the FOB and were awaiting processing and repatriation, a group of MP's arrive via M151 MUTT. When they arrive at the site where the bodies were being placed, they inspect on them and check their dogtags to authenticate that they're part of the Esgonian Military. "Brunshelm, Nelson. 54471258...what the hell did those commies do to you." an officer said softly as he inspects one of the dogtag and stares at the large bullet wound in his throat. He then sealed the body bag and patted it before leaving, feeling disgusted and angered about the fate of the soldier. The leading MP also thanked the Federationists for recovering the bodies and destroying the equipment they had before the rebels could acquire any more of them.

A few minutes later, a CH-47 arrived at the FOB from the Esgonian Base, carrying with it a few soldiers. They were to get the bodies and airlifted out of the FOB towards the base, which then they would be processed and then shipped back to the Esgonian Mainland for a proper funeral. To Esgonian High Command, this was a humiliating blow for the military once they had also gotten word about it; just only a week in Canaam and they were already taking this many casualties.

Back in HQ, there were already preparing for an offensive aimed to take a major rebel supply base.

Base 112, Canaam

Cpl. Ludmilla Grashinkov, a 19-year old infantryman of the 23rd Infantry Division, was busy loading her vz 58 Assault Rifle with stripper clips after cleaning and polishing it. Although the Esgonian Marine Corps and the other allies used the newer M16A1 Assault Rifle being issued, the Esgonian Army much favored this rifle more due to it's reliability in the battlefield, although it externally looked like the Kalashnikov assault rifles being used by the CCC, it was a more different design altogether, not to mention it was far more accurate than the Kalashnikov, having an effective range of up to 800 meters, which was more than the AK-47's 350 meter range. It was so popular that some of the soldiers even called it 'A superior version of the AK'.

While Ludmilla finishes up loading the last stripper clip and charges back the bolt, one of her colleague approaches her. "Oi, Ludmilla, hurry up. They're waiting for us." Ludmilla then stands up, places her helmet back on her head and follows the soldier. "So, we're finally getting some action after a week here of nothing but eating bugs and shit." she asks, who was excited to see some action, the soldier nods and says "Yeah, you excited for this ops? Surprised considering some of the other guys are scared shitless from what happened to that patrol who got ambushed earlier.", "Yeah boiiiii! And I'm not worried a bit. Besides, they were in a place they were supposed to be, anyway. Hell, we even have artillery and air support on our sides, boii." The two continue to chat as they approach the UH-1 who was waiting for the remaining two. Around them, they could see soldiers scrambling towards their helicopters, Sheridans getting ready to deploy, and fighters landing and taking off from a nearby airfield. Feeling excited, she ecstatically jumps on the helicopter while the other soldier gets in on the other side. Once they were all aboard, they then take off. an entire fleet of helicopters taking off was a sight to see, especially with the armored crews who were heading to the same destination as them. Ludmilla hums while on the helicopter a popular Esgonian Folk Song, while he fleet speeds off to the city, not knowing what kind of danger they may face there.

Observation Post, 10 miles from FOB Elizabeth, Canaam.

The group of CCC fighters slowly moved through the jungle, trying to stay quiet and hidden at the same time. There were a handful of them, perhaps 20 or so men. They were armed, either with AK-47s, or stolen guns, mostly M16s. The commander walked ahead of the group, AK pointed forwards towards the direction of the observation post. They were given orders from the local commander. Find the Esgonian observation post, attack, kill any enemy troops there, and then steal anything that could benefit them, and destroy anything they couldn't use or at least damage it.

The commander stopped, and the troops gathered up with him. He told the troops in the Canaamian language "We're here to attack a enemy observation post and pick it clean before more of their troops show up. We'll be receiving more troops from the last village we were at, but until then it's just us. Try and kill them all before they can call reinforcements in. It'd be helpful if that could be done, but it's unlikely. Try however."

The soldiers continued marching. After 10 minutes the commander said in Canaamian "Get down! Our target's just ahead, get into ambush positions." The commander, and the troops went prone and slowly crawled forwards to a good vantage point of the base. Surprise was essential, and Charlie was a expert at surprise. The men got to the vantage point, and their commander took a look. He saw one or two men, armed with Uzis and a few parked jeeps. "Either the enemy troops here are pretty vulnerable, or it's just staff." he thought.

He told all the men whispering in Canaamian "I'm going to fire two shots with my gun. I'll fire the first shot to confuse them and make them vulnerable. You are to hold fire unless fired upon. When I fire the second shot, shoot enemy troops on sight." The soldiers replied, saying "Understood." The commander squirmed and found a good firing position, and then fired one shot from his gun. The two men looked in terror, and said something he couldn't understand. Then he fired the second shot, and the group started firing wildly at the enemy troops.

The two men were conversing about the humid conditions over at Canaam, and that one of their colleagues have been infected with dysentry lately. "Damn mosquitoes, hopefully the water supply isn't full of their eggs. Heard Castain had been infected with Malaria.", "Really?" asked the other soldier. The two were already getting tensed up when they heard a shot coming from somewhere nearby. "Shit!" one of them yells. The other cocks his Uzi and shouts "Come out, right now!" a second shot was heard, sending him spiralling to the ground with a bullet wound in the left abdomen. The other tries to drag him over and screams for his comrades when the CCC began opening fire wildly at them, he tries to drag him but was shot several times in the chest, killing him. The other soldier then began firing his SMG towards the direction his friend was shot at.

Bullets ricochet throughout the observation post, as two other soldiers go down. The soldiers then began returning fire with their Uzi's blindly, seeing as they had no idea where the fire was coming from. The commander, however, told every soldier inside. "Calm down! Don't shoot blindly! You're giving yourself a chance to get overrun by them!" He then turns to the radioman holed up deep inside the outpost to call for reinforcements and air support then returns to the front to help his men out. To effectively spot where the enemy was firing at, he tries to look for any muzzle flashes coming at their general direction and orders his men to do the same. After minutes of gunfire exchange, with 5 men already down and one of them is still outside wounded, he closely observes a muzzle flash from the vegetation nearby. "Gotcha" said him. He then ordered his men to fire at where the muzzle flashes were at while he pulls out his flare gun. He carefully takes aim at the vegetation and fires a shot, burning the vegetation and spreading the fire quickly in mere seconds.

Meanwhile, the base was then alerted of the attack and sends in a platoon of soldiers inside an armored M35 Gun-Truck, the soldiers lock and load as they speed towards the besieged outpost.

The soldiers stood up and repositioned, meanwhile the commander fired at a window on one of the buildings there. The commander looked to his left and shouted in Canaamian "I need a RPG!" A soldier ran out of the open and then hit the dirt next to the commander, shouting "I got one! There's only 4 rounds though!" The commander replied "That's good. Take that RPG and fire at the window of that building, we'll suppress them." The soldier took a RPG, quickly loaded it and positioned himself towards the building. The soldiers began focusing their fire at the building, and then the soldier fired the RPG.

One of the soldiers continued to open fire upon the enemy fighters when he sees an RPG warhead heading towards them, he then makes a split-second act and pulls his colleague down and shouts to the others about the RPG. The RPG, fortunately, only hits the side of the windows of the building, which unfortunately, made a large hole in the wall. Also with it, a few of their equipment and gear were destroyed. with this, only 10 soldiers remained. Terrified. The commander however, was fed up of the CCC hiding in the bushes and decides to act on this, He tells two of the soldiers to get to their small armory and grab an FN MAG from there to suppress them while the others continue to open fire.

He however, decides to go to their supply room with another soldier following him, there he grabs a barrel of gasoline from their motor pool and gets an entire case of empty beer bottles. He and the soldier then pour the contents of the barrel onto the empty bottles and places dry rags on the mouth of the bottles. They then move back to their original position and prepare the case. "Are you sure about this plan, sir?" a soldier asks the commander. "Yes, the only way to turn the tides to our favor is to deny them their cover and concealment. We'll burn them out." With the two soldiers who were tasked to get to their armory were already there, they immediately set up the machine gun while the commander tells his men to cease fire and wait until the volume of gunfire lessens. When the fighters begin reloading, the commander shouts "NOW!". Following his commands, the machine gun then opens up a volley of fire at the fighters while three soldiers run outside of the post, two of them begin throwing Molotov Cocktails at the vegetation while the other drags the wounded soldier back inside before the two run back inside themselves.

The radioman, however, continued to relay to other allied networks for support. Seeing that this was more urgent, the Base immediately sends a UH-1C along with 2 more Gun Trucks, fitted with at least 18 soldiers, to help out.

The soldiers press themselves into the ground and held their heads as the machine gun suppressed them. A molotov landed on three soldiers, and there were all set on fire. They ran out of their positions dropping their weapons. The first fighters was hit by the machine gun and instantly filled with lead, while the other two fall to the ground and roll, screaming in pain before dying.

Meanwhile the commander shouted "Move, move! Get away from the foliage!" The prone fighters crawled backwards, and reloaded their guns. The soldier with the RPG smiled seeing the hole he put in the building, He looked to the left and saw a few jeeps with some gasoline next to them. He reloaded his RPG, and then pointed before firing at the jeeps.

After backing up, a few soldiers pulled grenades out of their belts, pulled the triggers and threw them at the hole in the building.

While the soldiers continued to lay down suppressing fire, one of them notices a grenade inside the hole. He shouts to his comrades, "GRENADE! EVERYONE TAKE COVER!", all of them duck and cover as the flurry of explosions rip throughout the outpost, sending soldier flying and seeking cover, leaving some of them deaf and wounded as shrapnel impacted the others. The wounded and a few other soldiers begin to retreat to the inner parts of the area before the rest head towards the roof, one of the picking up an M40A1 sniper rifle on the armory. At the roof, they could see the jeeps being blown up by another RPG fire.

Fed up by the RPG fire, the soldier with the sniper rifle begins to find the target while the FN MAG team goes prone and finds a good position to place their MG on and the rest guard the stairs and entryways leading up to the roof. The sniper then spots a figure with what seems to be an anti-tank launcher with him. He then holds his breath and aims for the head adjusting the bullet drop and trajectory. Then fires.

Meanwhile, the first gun truck arrives at the site, with the soldiers quickly filing out of there, They then rush towards the inside of the building, spreading out in order not to get killed with one grenade while observing their surroundings with the M2's giving them cover fire while tearing apart foliage and enemy fighters alike, alongside the mounted FN MAG. Meanwhile the UH-1C's speed up towards the operations post, hoping they won't get overrun by the time they get there.

The bullet went straight into the skull of the fighter holding the RPG, and he died on impact. The commander turned his head around to see somewhere around 20 or 30 figures approaching. He quickly thinks that his group has been surrounded, before realizing that the figures are the reinforcements promised. He quickly ordered a soldier to run to the reinforcing troops and tell half to move up to his position, while the other half secretly move to the west side of the base and fire on enemy reinforcements.

Another soldier with a grenade launcher attached to his AK loaded the launcher with a explosive grenade, and aimed it at the gun truck while the machine gun reloaded. He fired, ducked, reloaded and fired another round. Meanwhile, 15 of the reinforcing soldiers went prone and silently crawled to a ridge-line west of the base with a sniper. They got to the ridge in short time, and set up. The sniper took position, and looked at the roof of the building. He saw a group of soldiers on the roof, and a machine gun team through the hole. He thought "Machine gun is top priority.", before aiming at the gunner and firing.

Over Canaam. 8th Attack Helicopter Flight.

The two AH-1 Cobras flew quickly over the dense, green jungle canopy as the sun harshly beat down on them. They flew up high hills and down low valleys. Occasionally receiving machine gun fire as they went but ignored them, all they did was report it's position and let the Marine bush jumpers take care of the rest. Other than the thumps of AK-47 bullets on the Cobras, it was peaceful day. They were going on a Combat Air Patrol and were ready for any CAS mission presented to them over the radio, and one did.

Attention, uh, Gerle 1-1 and 1-2. An Esgonian post is taking fire. Go ahead and relieve them of their problem. Heading: 201. Keep going that way and you should hear it. Out.

Gerle 1-1, Copy that command. Adjusting heading and engaging enemy troops upon arrival. Out.

The two Cobras banked right and quickly went to assist the Esgonian troops. They prepared the rocket pods to strafe the enemy troops. They soon caught sight of the fire fight from the rising smoke of a fire. "I've got sight on some enemy troops. Permission to let loose hell?" The Gunner of Gerle 1-1 said turning around and smirking at the pilot. "Permission granted, Gerle 1-2 you have permission to fire." Shortly after the two Cobras opened fire with their Cannons on the tree line infront of the Esgonia base. Supressing the enemy position.
Heyo.

The soldiers began to scatter, 2 men being killed by the Cobras. However one of the fighters rushed to the corpse of the fighter with the RPG, to find it loaded. He quickly stood up and took aim at one of the Cobras, and fired. He quickly ducked to reload. After reloading, the 20 or so men in the brush began to run away towards a nearby CCC controlled village. However though the fighters on the Western ridgeline hadn't fled.

Hue Song Dai Village, 6 Clicks from Esgonian Observation Base.
Dozens of fighters had amassed in the village, about 120 infantrymen with a few technicals. The village was fortified by CCC forces earlier in anticipation of attacks in the region, and was armed to the teeth with booby traps, machine guns, sandbag positions and garrison infantry, with a couple of stolen Stinger systems. More forces were pouring in, and with the infantry there expecting a Esgonian response, they were amassing for a overwhelming attack.

The Machine Gun team continued to lay down an effective barrage of fire as soon as any fighter shows up when a sniper kills the gunner with a shot in the head, where he was then replaced with another gunner. The sniper, after taking out the Anti-Tank launcher, quickly looks for the enemy sniper, which he then finds later getting prone in the vast foliage. He takes aim at the enemy sniper, and pulls the trigger.

Meanwhile, the reinforcing soldiers of 18 quickly take position at the front entrance, killing any fighter they could see in range and throwing fragmentation grenades at them. There, they could see a group of fighters trying to flank them and trying to attack from the sides. Quickly, five of the soldiers open fire at the rebels and dispatch them. The gun truck outside was being hit by grenades from somewhere, but was not significantly damaged. The gunner quickly spots a fighter engaging at them, and proceeds to pump him with lead while the FN MAG prevents them from firing back. The soldiers holed up in the roof threw more molotov cocktails at the foliage which haven't been affected by the already spreading wildfire, burning any fighter who was still hiding and engaging in that area.

The commander then comes down the stairs and greets the reinforcing soldiers while heading out to the radioman. The radioman stated that the 252nd I.B. will be dispatched soon and that artillery support was now available to them. He grins as he hears Donnish Cobras opening fire on the rebels, a full moments later, 3 UH-1C's with another group of reinforcements arrive, along with the two gun trucks. With this, their manpower increased from 8, to 45. The wounded and dead were quickly loaded onto a helicopter while the other ones lay down a barrage of rocket and machine gun fire alongside the Donnish.

A TF-9J Cougar jet trainer was refueling from an A-4 Skyhawk fitted with buddy refueling equipment. Normally, this aircraft would be used to train new pilots as an advanced trainer. It was soon recognized that a second seat and respectable bomb load allowed the Cougar to act as a kind of aerial forward air controller, to direct air strikes. Thus far, the Navy was using them extensively in this role in Canaam. It was the most popular aircraft to be called in for this job, despite there being only 6 currently deployed to Canaam. This had given the aircraft new life, and successfully delayed it's retirement from last year to next year. The pilots of these "fast FACs" took on the missions with gusto, confident in the reliability of the aircraft to get them through deluges of ground fire.

This particular aircraft was no different, and had a load out consisting of several rocket pods and drop tanks to increase it's loiter time. Loiter time that was ending, and the aircraft was refueling to make it back to the carrier it had launched from. The RIO in the back seat was surfing through radio channels, hoping to find something interesting, when suddenly he came across the Esgonian radio chatter about an observation post under attack. The pilot asked for permission from the flight commander back on board the carrier to respond and direct airstrikes. Once he had approval, the pilot finished filling up on fuel and disconnected from the buddy tanker, bringing his aircraft on a new course, right towards the beleaguered observation post.

At a distant airfield, several fighter-bombers were being scrambled to provide the needed air support. Two Air Force F-4C Phantoms were loaded with Napalm, and they took off while two Navy F-3D Demons loaded with rockets and bombs taxied behind them and took off moments later. The Demon was supposed to be retired like the F-9 long ago, but the needs of the Canaam war kept them flying for now. Next month, they were supposed to be replaced by F-8 Crusaders. For now, the squadron was the last to fly the nearly 12 year old Demon.

The commander had just realized that he had overstayed his welcome. Helicopters were shooting at his men, enemy reinforcements were streaming in and he was losing men to those pesky molotovs. He shouted to the remaining men at his position "Throw every grenade you have into that hole in the building, I'm sick of these cocktails!" The fighters began taking grenades out of their belts and throwing them into the hole, before pulling out the next and throwing them in.

Meanwhile a soldier on the western side was holding a RPG he picked up from the original position, and the gun trucks were in clear view, though he was taking fire. The fire cleared up for a second, and he shot the RPG at the gun trucks. Right then, the commander sounded the order "Retreat!" He stood up with a few other soldiers and began running into the jungle from the observation while other soldiers were killed by the intense fire. Eventually all the other fighters sounded "Retreat!" and left.

"1-1, 1-2 that fucker is picking up an RPG, move!"

"Copy 1-1!"

The Cobra rolled to the left as the RPG was fired, a smoke trail signifying it's path like a steam of death. Had the Pilot not moved the Gunner and him would be cooked sausage. The second Cobra stabled itself and continued firing down on the Troops below. The first Cobra then moved itself over to the right flank of the Troops. "Switching to rockets. Givem a two Shotgun burst of them. Keep firing down there.", "You got it." The Gunner and Pilot conversed. Soon after puting the Cobra in a still hover over the jungle, it tilted forward and as the firing reticle went over the CCC's position the Pilot pressed the trigger once, firing multiple rockets from both sides simultaneously and then pressing the trigger again effectively emptying the rocket pods. The explosions from above were clear as the dirt and fire reached above the canopy.

The second Cobra still hovered above the Esgonia post sweeping fire across the tree line. Eventually it looked as if they were retreating. "We were just getting started sir." The Gunner said, faking a sad tone of voice.

1-2, 1-1 should we give chase?

Negative, let's see what the Esgonians do

4 fighters were killed by the rockets. The fighters continued to retreat but at that point they were sprinting through the jungle at their fastest to get the the village, at least there they would be protected from the Cobras. The fighters ran up to holes in a nearby hill covered in foliage, and climbed into the tunnels. They were dug not too long ago and the tunnels led to the village, though it would be a long trip through them to the village. They were quiet tall but thin, tall enough for a man to stand in but as wide as perhaps a small jeep or ATV. The entrances were covered in foliage and mines, though the mines were clearly visible. It'd probably take maybe a hour to travel the 5 to 6 miles through the tunnels to the village. The tunnels would have been hard to sight on foot, and impossible to see from the air if the camouflage was set up well enough to look natural even to a suspicious eye.

The firefight continues, with the base tipping the battle to their side. But when the soldiers spot the grenades going into the hole again, they decide to throw it back, or punt it back as if they were soccer balls before they could explode. Unfortunately, one grenade exploded as one soldier attempted to kick it out, blowing off his left leg and killing him instantly. The helicopters could spot the fighters throwing grenades as they could see unusual movement coming from the untouched foliage.

"Gunner, pump lead onto the them" shouted one of the pilots to the M60 Door Gunner. He grins and opens fire onto the fighters below as the reinforcing soldiers replace the ones who were killed or wounded. Marksmen pick off any fighter they could see quickly and precisely while soldiers armed with vz 58s open up 7.62 on the fleeing rebels. The machine gun team also did wonders onto the enemy, keeping them suppressed as the marksmen did their work,

Meanwhile, as the Gun trucks lay down suppressing fire, one of them gets hit and was set on fire, burning the occupants including the machine gunner and the driver. The others tried to put out the fire from them but they were already dead by them. The other trucks decided to back away to avoid any kind of fire. As the CCC fighters retreated, a fireteam decides to follow them as soon as the opposing force's gunfire stopped completely.
Another generic Westernized/Japanized nation with some Eastern stuff to it. Nothing special.
