• In this game you set your own goals. You play as a political party in a fictional nation. General elections are coming and your party must decide its strategy to win.
• Players control political parties that compete for victory in the 49 electoral districts and a majority in the Parliament, but only one party will be able to elect the Prime Minister and rule the nation.
• Your ideas and money are the most important factors that will help you win.
• Help your friends get elected in other districts with multi-party coalitions that will also benefit your own party.
• Elections are held periodically, so the battle never ends. Your party must stay in power or try to take it.
Election Day is an electoral strategy game for the NationStates forum, created by Arianiz-Maishach. You play as a political party in a country with a first-past-the-post electoral system and 49 seats in the Parliament. Each of the electoral districts has a distinct ideological profile that can be favorable to your party or to others, but the power of money can help you win despite ideological differences. You must choose where to place your candidates and where to put your money to maximize your chances of victory.
Each of the 49 electoral districts will be a battle between the parties. You can choose to participate in one, some, or all of the races and invest your money in them. Where you don’t present a candidate, you can endorse the candidate of another party through a multi-party coalition, making it easier for them to win and at the same time giving your party some extra money after the election. Your candidates can also receive the endorsement of other parties.
Every electoral district has a particular profile. People in them have different opinions about the economy and about society. Conservative, liberal, capitalist and socialist voters will support candidates that best reflect their beliefs. However, money can help a candidate receive more recognition and support in districts where their ideas are not enough to win. All players will receive $49,000 when they register their political parties in the Electoral Comission. They can spend their money as they wish in their campaign, or save it for future elections. After each election, parties will be awarded with funds according to their share of the popular vote.
The game consists of four weeks per election:
1. Registering parties and candidates: Players will have a week to fill a form where they will register their party for the election and choose their candidates for each electoral district.
2. Preparing the campaign: The first poll will be published after the end of the first week. Then, registered parties will receive funding from the Electoral Comission. They have a week to spend their money as they wish, retire candidates from the race or choose new candidates in other districts, and endorse another party in districts were they have not presented a candidate.
3. Campaigning: The third week is the final part of the campaign, it will begin with a second poll. Parties can no longer retire or register new candidates, and they can’t endorse other parties anymore, but they can modify their spendings during this week, the last day of the week is Election Day.
4. Choosing a Prime Minister: The fourth week begins with the results of the election and the announcement of the new members of Parliament. Parties will receive additional funding from the Electoral Comission according to their share of the popular vote. If a party wins 25 or more seats in the Parliament, it will be allowed to appoint a Prime Minister. If no party wins 25 or more seats, players can form a multi-party coalition with 25 or more members of parliament which will be allowed to appoint a Prime Minister. Otherwise, the party with most MPs will appoint a minority government.

OTHER INFORMATION
I will post any additional information here. Feel free to ask questions in this thread and to register your party.
-If you want to join the game, you can do it, but you will begin playing next month.
-With the poll results, we open the second stage of our game: Preparing the Campaign.
Each party has received $49,000 to spend in the electoral districts. You can choose where to put the money and how much in each district. Remember that the final result will depend both on money and on the ideology of each electoral district.
Maybe you've noticed that I placed some party leaders in some constituencies. I placed party leaders of the Progress Party and the New Democrats (who didn't specify where would their leaders run) in districts where their parties got better results. If you want to move them to another district, just tell me.
So I'll give you a code that may help you to tell me what are your next actions. You can add more lines to it, I created it in order to make it easier for you:
