Taskforce 77: Operation Phoenix (OOC and Signups)

Postby Palustrine » Sat Aug 29, 2015 11:55 am

It has been thirty years after world war two, yet not is all well. Tensions with the USSR are high and turmoil befalls a small central American country. Eltrama. A civil war rages and the cartel is overpowering the government. The cartel holds a complete monopoly of narcotics and weapons in the area and their leader, Antonio Melendez, posses a severe threat to US citizens and his own people. It began with human trafficking. Over seventy US tourists have been sold off and a further two hundred murdered. It progressed to a full scale massacre of all non latino races within Eltrama. Intelligence suggests that several concentration camps have been erected there and there are even talks of the annexation of neighbouring nations. If the US doesn't act now, Eltrama will pose a serious threat to those around it.

CIA director Andrew Smith landed at Camp Fortune (Southern Mexico) at 0700 hours, 30th of August 1974. The sun was up and the heat was almost unbearable. His chinook settled down and he was met by Captain Gonzalez, of the Mexican special forces. Gonzalez approached to shake Smith's hand, but was met by a dark stare. Smith was wearing a set of shades and his face was expressionless. Behind him, stepping out of the chinook were two other operatives. A mean looking 6 foot tall agent, with light brown hair, a strong jawline and clad in the same shades. Next to him was a smaller, dark haired woman clutching a clipboard. Her hair was swept up by the wind caused by the chinook's blades. They were all dressed in black and Gonzalez gave them a troubled glare. It was over 90 degrees there. All but smith seemed unfazed.

Gonzalez was Hispanic, wearing a desert camo military uniform and he had a thick moustache. To Smith, Gonzalez was almost a laughable stereotype, but he was here as a professional.

Smith spoke
"Lead on"
Gonzalez looked shocked, but then nodded and turned to lead them on to HQ tent. They followed and soon arrived. The chinook took off again, disappearing north.

"Where is Taskforce 77"

This is when you come in. You are specially chosen by the US government to help takedown the infamous cartel boss that has taken over the small nation of Eltrama.

Name: Adikavi Yadav
Codename: Yadav
Country of origin: Nepal
Place to be picked up by US operatives: Juarez, mexico
Equipment: Kukri blade, crossbow, M1911
Bio: Yadav was born in Nepal in 1918 and served for the british empire as part of a Gurkha regiment. He was captured in Burma in 1943 and sent to a Nazi experiment camp in eastern Poland. He was then dosed with radiation which deformed his facial features, but not so much his body. As a result of this he developed a higher threshold for pain and somewhat enhanced vision. He was going to be executed but was rescued by the Russians when the camp was liberated, of which he showed to be ruthless and a killer without remorse. The KGB used him in 1955 to take out a group of Nazi scientists taking refuge in Argentina and was given diplomatic immunity. He then moved to the united states and has since been contacted twice by the US government to undergo assassination and extraction missions in Cuba and Vietnam.
Mutation advantages(Not OTT please): Enhanced eyesight (cat like vision), strong bones, more tolerant to pain
Mutation disadvantages: Needs certain formula every two weeks to keep or mutation, or dies.

Just to spice it up a little, otherwise it would just be a regular mission. It also helps to provide the characters with a more interesting backstory.

A rather basic description, but that's ok as there will be time to develop it in the IC. You don't get your loadout until you reach the camp, so if there is anything you'd like to change you can do it now. Plus you'll be given a parachute and a water canteen. But it may be hard for your character as he is carrying a lot, but we can always schedule an air drop for items he cannot initially carry.

Well he is FFL... so i wouldn't be concerned about carry, and, yeah... i forgot about water...
