Now the Knights had a justification for the blue planet's invasion. For two years we fought against them, until Her Highness had shockingly returned with a message for all: Earth and Vers must make peace. And they did.
Once the war was over, then Empress Asseylum Vers Allusia immediately set out to build lasting peace with Earth through the sharing of the ancient power of old, Aldnoah. Through this power, a united humanity had broken out of its home system and began to colonize suitable and habitable worlds — worlds of untold riches and resources, worlds of unspoken beauty – all colonized in the name of mankind. Prosperity and peace prevailed, and the cause of humanity grew. Perhaps, this is what the great Versian Empress dreamed — that Earth and Mars would exist in peace and harmony with one another, despite their differences.
Yet, like all good things, it came to an end. The bond that she envisioned didn't last forever.

Timeline
- 1972 A.D. — Apollo 17 discovers a secret portal on the Moon known as the Hyper Gate, which linked it to Mars. Subsequent missions have been sent by a coalition of nations for the colonization of the red planet. Upon settlement, relics of an ancient civilization have been found on Mars, and the Vers Empire was established by Dr. Ray Rayvers, who styled himself as Emperor Rayregalia Vers Rayvers.
- 1986 A.D. — Emperor Gillzeria ascends the throne of the Vers Empire, Martian industrial capacity increases greatly.
- 1999 A.D. — 1st Terran-Martian War breaks out. The Orbital Knights of the 37 Clans launch Operation Heaven's Fall. A battle between United Forces of Earth (UFE) and Martian forces breaks out on the Moon, resulting in the Hyper Gate's destruction — and by extension the Moon itself. The destruction of the Moon caused a series of natural disasters on Earth of an unprecedented magnitude — disasters such as, but not limited to: earthquakes, tsunamis, disruption of tidal forces and Moon fragments falling to Earth. Due to the severity of the war — and the death of Emperor Gillzeria during Heaven's Fall — a ceasefire and armistice was declared between Vers and the UFE.
- 2014 A.D. — Princess Asseylum Vers Allusia apparently assassinated by Terran extremists, sparking the more devastating 2nd Terran-Martian War. Various strategic locations on Earth were subsequently invaded by the Orbital Knights, who were cut off from Vers proper for the past 15 years.
- 2016 A.D. — Emperor Rayregalia dies. Martians defeated by UFE forces near the Versian moonbase. 2nd Terran-Martian War ends in a peace treaty mediated by Princess Asseylum, who succeeded her grandfather upon his death. Aldnoah technology shared with Earth.
- 2018 A.D. — Venus colonized by Earth. Orbital Knights give up the last of their territories on earth back to their respective nations. Moonbase also ceded to UFE by Vers.
- 2023 A.D. — Mars completely unified under the Vers Empire.*
- 2026 A.D. — United Nations replaced by a United Earth Federation, unifying the nations of Earth into a worldwide state.
- 2034 A.D. — Jovian moons jointly colonized by Earth and the Vers Empire.
- 2035 A.D. — UEF and Vers Empire sign the Nairobi Accords, which declare the entirety of the Sol System's interplanetary space under joint administration and supervision of both parties. Space 500 km from planets or moons belongs to their respective nations, however.
- 2037 A.D. — Mercury colonized by UEF.
- 2048 A.D. — Titan, moon of Saturn, established as a joint outpost for both the UEF and Vers.
- 2049 A.D. — Uranian moons colonized by Vers.
- 2052 A.D. — Research into Aldnoah technology culminates in a working Alcubierre Drive powered by Aldnoah, paving the way for interstellar colonization.
- 2067 A.D. — First Terran colony established in Alpha Centauri. Versian colony established a few months later.
- 2082 A.D. — Titan ceded to UEF by the Vers Empire, Vers reestablishes base at Neptune's moon, Triton.
- 2084 A.D. — Vers Empire establishes waystation on Pluto.
- 2087 A.D. — Beta Centauri System begins to be colonized.
- 2095 A.D. — Jovian moons secede peacefully from UEF.
- 2098 A.D. — Empress Asseylum dies of old age, succeeded by Emperor Benezzia.
- 2117 A.D. — Dispute develops between Vers and the Jovian Moons over the ownership of certain asteroids in the asteroid belt, particularly Ceres.
- 2126 A.D. — Venusian secession movement crushed by UEF forces, relationship with Vers Empire continues to strain.
- 2133 A.D. — Emperor Benezzia dies from leukemia, succeeded by Emperor Zenonian.
- 2137 A.D. — Present day.

Salutations! Storm here, and welcome to FIAT JUSTITIA RUAT CAELUM: An Aldnoah.Zero RP. The RP setting is set approximately 120 years after the events of Aldnoah.Zero have transpired. By this time, Earth and the Vers Empire had expanded into neighboring star systems, namely Alpha Centauri and Beta Centauri. This is a character-based RP, as I feel that if this RP was faction-based it would pose more problems. The RP may be divided into story arcs that we RPers may agree upon. As usual, I shall be providing a link to the Aldnoah.Zero Wiki for you guys to take a look. Also, I recommend that you also watch Aldnoah.Zero when you have the time.

Humanity is primarily divided into four main factions in this RP: the United Earth Federation (UEF), the Vers Empire, the Jovian Moons Alliance, and the Free Venus Movement (FVM). Each has their own advantages and disadvantages, which I will be putting out here for reference. In this timeline, Earth has already advanced rapidly, though they still lag far behind the Vers Empire in terms of technology. All factions make use of Aldnoah, an ancient power source discovered on Mars in the 1970s that has proliferated throughout human domains.
Human militaries make extensive use of a kind of mechanized battlesuit known as a kataphrakt. These suits are transatmospheric in that they can fight in both planet-side and space warfare. They are also equipped with a wide array of weapons and countermeasures, which vary between the three human star-states. Kataphrakts can fill various roles in the field of combat; whether it be for attack, escort, support or special operations.
United Earth Federation
The United Earth Federation (UEF) is an interplanetary star-state representing Terran humanity. As the name implies, its capital world is Earth. The UEF has the most territory out of the three human interplanetary states, having colonized habitable worlds in other star systems. However, their technological advancement lags behind that of Vers, and the Terrans make up for it with coordinated tactics and skills that can defeat even the strongest of Versian kataphrakts. Their numbers also prove to be an advantage for the Terrans over their foes, as they can replenish their ranks much faster thanks to their large population.
The Terrans have advanced quite a lot ever since peace was made between it and the Vers Empire. The technological exchange between the UEF and Vers brought the understanding of Aldnoah to the Terrans. Like Vers, much of the UEF is powered by Aldnoah, from ships to power grids.

Terran weapons are primarily ballistic in nature, utilizing firearms that operate more or less on the same principles as they did back in the beginning of the 21st Century A.D. Lasers and plasma weapons are used to a limited degree. Their kataphrakts, while conforming to several models, are known to be modular and highly customizable — so pilots can adapt their battlesuit's weapons and countermeasures to fit various roles. Their strength also happens to lie in practicality, which may be why certain old and reliable hardware are still in service in the UFE.
Their primary disadvantage lies in their technological advancement, which still lags behind that of the Vers Empire — despite their advancements in Aldnoah technology. Besides that, it has to deal with cases of unrest throughout its territories, mostly from the FVM and from Anti-UEF rebels and dissidents.

It was founded after a certain human discovered Aldnoah from an ancient interstellar civilization. It once had a bitter history with Earth — having waged two devastating wars — but since then has reconciled with the Terrans. It is ruled by Emperor Zenonian Malthus Vers Tristania, who exacts his will through the authority of his lords, especially through the 37 Clans. Vers is the most technologically advanced out of all the factions. Their highly advanced kataphrakts serve as one-man armies that can go up against a platoon of any enemy force.
Versian weaponry often use plasma or lasers as primary mediums, weapons that can easily neutralize foes. In fact, they worked so well that armies of men and machines aren't required — except in the event of total war — for a Versian kataphrakt is as good as an army. Each kataphrakt is unique both in outward appearance and in the nature of weapons that they use. Their technological superiority is based on Aldnoah, a power they deem to be on the level of gods. They may choose not to coordinate their efforts and rely on their technology to defeat their enemies. Their power projection is the most widespread out of all human star-states, able to deploy their forces faster than anything that the Terrans or the Jovians can muster.
The Vers Empire has no unified military command structure. Instead, each knight of Vers has its own army at this disposal. Their main power projection lies in massive auxiliary bases known as landing castles, often commanded by an Orbital Knight. Once they deploy on the surface of a planet, the drop site is instantly obliterated. As demonstrated in the 2nd Terran-Martian War, an entire city can be destroyed upon the landing of a castle. Once the drop site is secured, the Orbital Knight can then utilize his/her forces to conquer. The landing castle also acts as a fortress, able to neutralize enemy land, sea and air power with ease.
However, their lack of coordination also happens to be their disadvantage. Their reliance on technology may have made them neglect the use of tactics in combat. Sometimes, a one-man Martian kataphrakt can be defeated by a coordinated group of Terran kataphrakts.
Jovian Moons Alliance
The Jovian Moons Alliance is a confederation of states located in the orbit of Jupiter. They are primarily composed of the four Galilean moons (Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and Io) along with several outposts on other moons. Europa serves as the seat of its central government. They are mostly on good terms with the UEF, trading some of their natural resources with Earth in exchange for their technology. They are known to be hostile with the Vers Empire, often skirmishing with them in the disputed asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Their strength lies in their powerful economy, which rivals that of the UEF. Jovian merchant fleets are known to traverse the Solarian Reaches bringing wealth from other planets. They also are able to extract metal ores from the asteroid belt and gases from Jupiter's atmosphere — both of which are primary sources of income for the Jovian moons. As such, they have a large amount of capital that they can use to fund many areas of their development. Their weapons happen to be a cross between the more primitive Terran weaponry and the highly advanced Martian weaponry. Many of their weapons are laser based in nature, though ballistic weapons are still present.
Their primary disadvantage lies in their numbers, which are far less compared to the Terrans or the Versians. Also, they are vulnerable to diplomatic and economic sanctions, which could cripple the Jovian economy in times of increased tension.

The Free Venus Movement (FVM) is the largest insurgent group out of all Venusian separatist movements. Their primary goal is to achieve Venusian Independence from the UEF. Currently they are trying to get the Vers Empire to recognize them as an independent state and hopefully secure an alliance with Emperor Zenonian, as well as incorporate other Venusian separatists groups under its wings. They would wage war against the UEF through guerrilla warfare and stealth tactics.
THe nature of their weapons are more or less similar to the UEF's, since they acquired it from military bases and outposts. The FVM makes extensive use of improvised explosive device (IED's) and other weapons of asymmetrical warfare. They are able to salvage and piece together parts to build or upgrade their hardware. However, while they are a formidable force, their fighting force lacks the formal training and the equipment in order to successfully be on par with the UFE, Vers or Jovian armies. They also lack the funds needed to acquire hardware and ammunitions.
