RP: Tomorrow
Hello! I'm AvanTer, although on here it's probably easier to identify me as Ilaris, I'll respond to either. (I used to be Terstotzka) Anyways, I've roleplayed quite a bit before, but I've always had trouble with finding a roleplay, especially one that would allow me to pretend I was actually leading my own nation. The goal of this RP is to provide something that will be easy enough for those who are looking to learn how to roleplay, but also provides a casual experience for those who've already experienced many of them. I've written the story to be as open as possible, within a reasonable limit. This means that if you have a Nation full of Ponies, then it is 100% possible, who knows, maybe there's another nation who's biased against, or even racist (TO A POINT) against you. The Story so far
Set in a world where universes collided and shattered, where history was broken and timelines merged into a world both familiar and unrecognizable from our own, it's a world of Tomorrow, and this world is now it's own. It's been just 17 years since the catastrophic "Great War", in which no nation was truly victorious, and only ended due to the development of the Nuclear Weapon, which, up until now has been the only thing keeping the thin veil of peace between nations of radically different ideologies. An attempt at a 'World Congress', an organization that could keep the new found era of peace intact, only ended up in failure, except for one critical success, this World Congress managed to commission a team of scientists who were able to isolate a rare element that, when targeted at nuclear based weapons, manages to neutralize the reactions, and in essence, it makes nuclear weapons nothing more than giant sticks that can be hurled at the enemy. While this development was heralded as the achievement that ended one of the biggest threats of extinction to the world, it also left the one thing that kept nations from invading each other, mutually assured destruction, mute. Now, once again, nations are racing to build up arms, secret alliances and treaties acting like a domino effect, with nations rapidly taking sides, and it will take only but a spark to set the chain of events that will bring about what could be the bloodiest conflict imaginable... or will it... could it be possible that we have truly learned from our mistakes? Time will tell... it always will.
Important note regarding story: I'll be trying to keep up with reading everyone's posts on the In character thread, and I'll keep a log on there to make a summarized version of what is happening. This is intended to make it easier for those jumping in later on.
Basically, what this Role Play is meant to be, is a Role Play where you, the player, are the ones who determine the story, I want to make this RP as open ended and free as possible, with your nation being yours, so basically, the most important thing you can have in this Role Play is creativity! The end goal of this is what you feel you get out of this, if you want to learn how to roleplay in general, than this is what I hope to be a good start.
Rules and Regulations
~First and foremost, to prevent this from getting too large, I'm going to only allow for a maximum of 15 nations, the good thing about this is that this won't get too big, and it means that people can claim large chunks of land on the map! The only downside is that if a nation leaves, then it could cause issues, although...
~You must post at least once within a two day period, if you are unable to meet that, then most likely you really shouldn't be role-playing with such a busy schedule, if you happen to not post within the two day period (Two day's doesn't mean from the time you post you get two days, it means that within that day and the next), then I'll basically have it that a political coup occurred, and open up your nation to someone else, this sounds harsh, but I want to make sure that the whole RP is fully enjoyable, without being ruined by people just up and leaving.
~No Godmodding or WMDs I kinda left in a little bit of lore to describe why WMDs, specifically nuclear, can't be used, ergo, "I BLEW IT ALL UP WITH NUKES" is impossible. As for other WMDs, if it feels like it is one, then it probably is, but if you aren't 100% sure just bring it up with me, and I'll just figure it out. Speaking of me...
~I AM GOD! XD okay that was a bit too much, but I had too, in other words, anything I say is final, if you feel like something I do is a bit unfair, just bring it up, trust me I'm human! I know that I can screw something up, and I am more than welcome to feedback!
~Be a decent person, and what I mean by this is that try your best to respect others, in any circumstance, things like Racism, Sexism, Harrasment, and anything above and between will not be tolerated!
~Try your best at formatting at the very least, make your text understandable, if it helps, you can throw a little Tl;dr below that summarizes your actions, it'd make it easier for me to log everything that's happening, and it'd make it easier for everyone else!
~The Unspoken Rules otherwise known as, me being an idiot and forgetting to type out something important, this basically goes back to me being God, and the whole objection bit. Basically, once again, if it seems wrong, don't do it!
~This is Post Modern Tech! which means that it's a range of anything that currently exists, to things that aren't overly futuristic. (Flying cars, Giant Mech Suits, etc. Are NOT usable)

Regarding Rejected Applications If your application is ever rejected, it will most likely be that it's because your nation is just too perfect, no where is truly perfect, most likely though I'd just end up PMing you to see if we can change up any of the numbers or add constraints to your nation to ensure some balance

Species resident other than human: Ilaris has mixes of all races present within the story, although humans still dominate 3:1
Most Prominent Religious Movement (or lack of): The Church of Sol (Otherwise known as re-branded Christianity)
Brief Summary of Nation: A strong almost U.S.A. esque nation that is based in mostly real world West Coast USA, nation is focused on leading the race on technology, although it falls short in areas of sports and. It's culture, due to globalization, is very heavily influenced by other countries, resulting in a highly mixed race population with a small deal less patriotism then other nations.

~The Main RP will begin the moment there are (including me) at least 5 people, once that has occurred I'll open up the in-character post and get the story going! If I forgot to add anything then I'd highly appreciate any feedback down in the OOC section of the thread!
