Demons, Devils, Angels. Lend me your ears. I will tell you of how we all began.
In the beginning of the Universe, there was the Positive Plane, and the Negative Plane. Pure creation and pure destruction respectively. In stasis they lived, neither coming in contact with the other. However due to an accident, or by design, the two planes clashed, creating the universe as we know it. With this, Gods were born.
These gods created a world of paradise, Earth, and created children, Angels and Archon, to populate this world. They created their own dimension, Heaven, which they resided in with their favourite children. Angels were being of order and law, while Archons were of pure freedom. Peace was eternal, and a golden age was created. Humankind was born of a union between Archon and Angel, beings whose soul was destined to become one of the two when they died. All was well in Heaven and Earth.
However the tenth God, Vakoir, was curious about rumoured life before creation. Odd inexplicable structures, forbidden knowledge and rumours led him to the edge of the universe. He took with him many Archon, the free spirited Archon's loving all knowledge. Unfortunately, what they learnt drove many of them mad. The ones that survived this madness tried to escape and return to the Gods and Angels they loved, but these gods saw whatever was on that edge had tainted them. This corruption could poison their paradise if they did not act fast, and so they exiled the survivors in an old and mysterious plane known as the Abyss.
The angel, Asmodeus (Or Adam as he was once known), had an Archon love named Eve (Or Lilith as she would come to be known). The exiled of that love left him in despair. In a desperate and angered move, he took a Legion of angels sought Vakoir, whom the archons claimed survived, to vent their rage and sorrow on him. It was practically suicide, as they knew they could not stand up to a god which created them.
They found him wandering the edge of the planes, his eyes full of pain. He tried to run from the angels, which confused them, as he could fight them and defeat them. When they caught up with the god, he reacted with fear, pleading them to go away. But the Angels were to blinded by rage at the fate of their loves, attacked him. They pelted him with thousands upon thousands of arrows, spears and throwing stones, yet the god did nothing to halt his own demise. The God exploded with an unholy light once he expired. It tainted all that saw it, yet the Angels almost welcomed it. Knowing, somehow, it was the only way to save their beloveds. They warped and changed, becoming the devils we know them to be today.
Meanwhile, the Archons were going through hardship. The gods could (or would) only provide the barest of scraps for sustenance. They had to turn to eating the few souls that managed to end up in the Abyss and even feeding off each other. Unfortunately the exile had not halted the spread of taint among Archons, the Angels having to round up and send any Archons infected with it to the Abyss. Not all the Archons went quietly, and both Archon and Angel had to learn violence. Those that ended up in the Abyss changed, become what was to be known as Demons. These new Demons also had to combat the original denizens of the Abyss, Rakshasa, Asura and Oni among other horrors.
Eve, having lost almost all hope, suddenly heard the telepathic voice of her love, Asmodeus. Her heart sang with joy as she heard that he had a way of breaking through the planes barrier, but he would need her help.
Eve and Asmodeus used newfound powers from the taint they had suffered to make a bridge, between the Material Plane and the Abyss. They rushed across this metaphorical bridge with Eves Demons and Asmodeus' Devils, but once they met, they embraced in love, but already a rift had begun to form between Eve and Asmodeus.
As they had to plan a defence, as now the Gods and angels would have to eradicate this taint, they noticed new things about each other. Eve noticed Asmodeus' was now subtly manipulative and controlling, while Asmodeus thought Eve had become Harsh, Barbaric and Savage.
Soon, and even more shocking. The once pure Devils and Demons began wanting vengeance for being shunned as the bitterness and frustration both factions felt increased. The plans for defence soon became a siege of Heaven, with Asmodeus and Eve leading the charge.
However, after they had broken the gates, the armies soon turned on one another. Each lover calling the other a cheap imitation of the love they once knew. They fought each other with pure bitter frustration and rage, their long wait and efforts to reunite wasted, an act which would lead to the Blood Wars.
Soon, the Angels responded and kicked both factions out of Heaven. The Gods retreated even deeper into heaven for unknown reasons, not even in contact with their most trusted angels. Pure Archons were almost extinct and Angels had to regroup in heaven and repair it. The Devils created their own plane, Hades, or the Nine hells. The war left the universe scarred, in fact the only ones who prospered were the humans, who took advantage of the room to grow and expand on earth after the retreat of the Angels.
Both Demon and Devil have been spreading sin in the world to fight the war against one another and Heaven for countless centuries now. Asmodeus and Eve were last seen in conflict in Limbo, rumours say their still there, fighting. The conflict was known as the "War of Red Tears", or the Blood Wars as it was to be known now.
Now, we live in an ailing universe where hope is a rare commodity. Even the humans now consume themselves with petty wars. This universe is stagnating, slowly rotting like a corpse.
But what if I told you someone could make a difference? Someone could change something in this Universe, to end the stalemate and bring change to a universe that desperately needs it.
What if I told you, that change was coming soon, for better or worse

0. "Dirt" or Cattle: The souls freshly brought in from the physical plane. These have about equivilent powers as humans.
1. Serf: The Lowest devil. This devil is equivalent to nine humans in sheer power, speed, strength and toughness. It gains a thicker skin as well as a pair of usable wings and a fiendish weapon.
2. Squire: The second lowest Devil. A Squire is roughly equivalent in power to nine serfs. It gains a hypnotic, fear inducing or commanding gaze.
3. Knight: A knight is the third step on the road to power. Knights can manipulate hellfire. They increase in power to that of 18 Squires.
4. Baron/Baroness: The fourth rank is that of the Baron, or baroness. Barons can manipulate all four elements. They have the power of 18 Knights
5. Count/Countess: With the power of 50 Barons (Roughly 1 million humans) counts are a force to be reckoned with, able to take on almost any human army single handedly. Their combat skills get supernatural improvements.
6. Duke/Duchess: Dukes have the power of 90 Counts (Roughly 100 million humans). Duke's gain an aspect of lawful evil to manipulate
7. Archduke/Archduchess: 900 times the power of a duke (Or 100 billion humans), Archdukes are the lords and masters of hell. In their hells they gain some reality warping powers to change their hell as they see fit, they may teleport other devils to them at will as well as create portals.
Angel Ranks
0: Spirit: Human level of power. A proto angel of sorts:
1. Initiate: This Angel is equivalent to nine humans in sheer power, speed, strength and toughness. Gains wings and a holy forcefield. Also gains a holy artefact.
2. Angel: Nine times stronger than a spirit, an angel gains force-field projection and two more retractable and magically hidable wings.
3. Archangel: 18 times stronger than an angel, an archangel gains the ability to manipulate holy winds and two more retractable wings.
4. Cherubim: 18 time stronger than an archangel, the Cherub Can manipulate all four elements and gains two more retractable wings.
5. Virtue: 50 times stronger than a Cherub. A virtue gains supernatural combat skills and gains two more retractable wings.
6. Seraph: 90 times stronger than a Virtue. A Seraph gains an aspect of Lawful good to manipulate and gains two more retractable wings.
7. High Seraph: 900 times stronger than a Seraph. A high Seraph can reshape it's "cloud" as much as it likes, teleport other angels to it or create portals and gains two more retractable wings.
Archon Ranks
0. Students: Proto Archon. Take the form of children and teenagers. Human power level.
1. Freed Soul:This Archon is equivalent to nine humans in sheer power, speed, strength and toughness. Gains a retractable tail, animal ears and supernatural reflexes as well as a soul weapon.
2. Realized Archon: This archon is equivalent to nine Freed Souls. The archon gains the ability to change into animal form at will as well as another retractable tail.
3. Unlocked Archon: This archon is equivalent to eighteen Realized. This archon gains the ability to manipulate holy water as well as another retractable tail.
4. Unbound Archon: This archon is equivalent to eighteen Unlocked. This archon gains the ability to teleport at will as well as another retractable tail.
5. Enlightened Archon: This archon is equivalent to fifty Unbound. This archon gains the ability to manipulate its own size as well as another retractable tail.
6. Ascendant Archon: This archon is equivalent to 90 Englightened. This archon gains an aspect of chaotic good to manipulate as well as another retractable tail.
7. Archon Soulfree: This archon is the equivilent of 900 Ascendants. This archon gains the ability to Manipulate their plane of Elysium, teleport lesser archons to them and create portals as well as another retractable tail.
Demon Ranks
0. Maggots: Equivalent to a human in power. Proto demons.
1. Spawn: Spawn are nine times more powerful than a human. They gain accelerated regeneration and a retractable tail as well as a abyssal weapon.
2. Drones: Drones are nine times more powerful than a Spawn. They gain the ability to manipulate human and demon blood.
3. Pack-demons: Pack demons are eighteen times more powerful than a Drone. They gain the ability to manipulate abyssal fire.
4. Pack Leader: Pack leaders are Eighteen times more powerful than a Pack Demon. They gain the ability to teleport.
5. General: Generals are the equivalent of 50 Pack leaders. They gain the ability to manipulate Abyssal earth
6. Lord/Lady: Demon Lords are the equivalent of 90 Generals. They gain an aspect of chaotic evil to manipulate.
7. Prince/Princess: Demon princes are the equivalent of 900 Lords. They gain the ability to manipulate their layer of the abyss, teleport other demons to them or create portals for other demons.
Hades' Political structure.
Hades is decided into many "Hells" each of which is divided into three circles. A soul going to Hades will be judged and sentenced to one of the Hells first or second circles. There the soul is tortured for the sins of his life until he can accumulate enough souls to be "promoted". Third Circles serve as homes for fully bred Devils. Second Circles can also serve as the homes to Knights, Squires and Serfs.
Each Hell is ruled by an Archduke and under him are nine Dukes, Each circle is ruled by three dukes under each of which are Eight Counts. Each Duke has territory to protect and govern within the circle.
Under each Duke there are eight Counts who govern a different aspect of a circle for their Duke and to a lesser extend the whole Circle (Finances, Security, etc) Under each of these are seven Barons, who serve as Enforcers, Captains, Ministers or other roles which the Counts need to perform their job.
Under Barons are the Knights, Squires and Serfs. Serfs serve as slaves or servants to more powerful Devils. Squires perform a similar role, yet have more prestige and can own their own serfs. Unfortunately they can also be conscripted now, and serve in the Devil army under a Knight. Knights are the first position of any real respect or substantial freedom in Hades, often they can serve most any role they please, though they can be conscripted at any time.
In summary, each hell has
1 Archduke
9 Dukes
72 Counts
504 Barons
Countless numbers of Knights, Squires and Serfs.
Heaven Political Structure
Heaven is devided up into several "Clouds". A soul going to heaven is assigned to a cloud based on his or her following of the virtues of life. Souls are guarded, served, ruled over, entertained by and fed by angels. Souls in heaven are completely dependent on the logic and order of angels, and so this can lead to angel either loving or hating humans.
Angels are simultaneously a charity organisation and a band of knights. They have a camaraderie and natural bond, but often the question of loyalty to heaven or to your friends is a hard one. And of course there is professionalism and standards of conduct. There is also a natural order and expectation of duty. Even the highest ranking angels will be expected to do simple, humble and often menial work (Of course, kick ass powers make it much easier).
Each Cloud is administered by a single High Seraph, and under him are nine district Seraphs, each with different administrative duties. Virtue's assist Seraphs in these duties, acting as secretaries, assistants and commanders when necessary in addition to other duties. Each Virtue has a Cherub partner whom reports directly to the Virtue, and the Cherub will often have ten archangels under his or her direct command. Archangels manage groups of Angels and initiates.
Elysium Political Structure
The Elysium is unique among the planes in that it doesn't have a "political system" and that it's a plane within a plane containing smaller mini planes. Even the demons have a rough hierarchy of biggest demon over smallest. Of course the Elysium has a chain of command, but only out of respect and a desire to learn, following higher archons as one would follow a master or teacher or tutor. No archon pretends to command the will of another in matters other than battle, and even then they're surprisingly relaxed. Despite the anarchy this could bring, the Elysium is actually quite quite. Even considering the fact that Archons are rarer now they are still very stable and peaceful.
Abyssal Political Stucture
The Abyss is divided into countless layers.
Each Layer is ruled by a Prince, Under him are a multitude of lesser demons who form a pecking order with the more powerful demons on top and the weak ones on the bottom. While Hades is operated as a country the Demons are more of mix between a massive army of criminals, Bandits and thieves and a loose collection of feudal tribes or city states.
A Prince has authority over nine Demon Lords, who pay him taxes and levies. Lords employ Eight General's to marshal the Pack Leaders into different tasks. Pack Leaders rule over tribes of Spawn, Drones and Pack-demons. Spawn being the lowest of the low, basically thrown at a task at mass and corralled by Pack Demons, Drones are mostly free yet are often intimidated into work but they have more respect, power and authority over the Spawn. Pack Demons are respected members of the tribe, with power and serve an advising role to the Pack Leader.

Don't be an ass and treat others fairly.
Deamon is an acceptable alternate term for Demons. (Daemon is okay too)
Limit IC in the OOC and vice versa.
No, Devils and Demons are not the same thing if we did not make that abundantly clear.
Devils and demons and archons and angels can beat beings of a higher rank than them. It is possible. Though it takes an enourmous amount of skill, luck or cunning to pull it off and it is a hurclean task. Don't be too afraid to challenge higher rank beings. Just know that you will have to put a lot of effort into the fight to make us believe you did it. Though if you can pull it off you gain major respect points from me.
There are no rules against demons and devils or demons and angel being friends. Just try not to have them be friends at the start.
Also, when the APP is up, you will be able to APP for demons, archons, angels and devils of level 5 or less. Those who app for lower ranked entities will be given special bonuses and incentives and you will be promoted with time.
Most importantly, have fun!
Remember, just because your Devils and Demons doesn't mean you have to be completely evil. There can be characters who are shades of grey and reluctant Fiends.
Also, this is set in the twenty first century, earth (With magic and Fantasy elements)
