Tales of Alamaek (Fantasy, World-Building, Open)

This world is like a sack of elephant crap. It's big, and shaped weird, and stinks. One thousand years ago, the chronicles say, it united under one Empire, but that fell into war and ruin. Now, the world is a squabbling mess.

Or was.

Yeah, was. Some great cosmic force wiped out all life on the planet, and handed the reigns to a bunch of dimwit gods. Like I'm not good enough to do it myself! Bah. Fuck that guy.

Anyway, these gods have been turned loose on the world. They can create races, nations…whatever the fuck they want to. As long as Papa Lavan approves it of course.

Yeah, what that idiot said. This is a worldbuilding thread for a fantasy roleplay, obviously. The setting itself will be gritty, verging on grimdark, so no Tolkien knockoffs here!

Yeah, okay, the premise is fairly limited, but that's the point. I'll provide the name of the world, and a few other things, and y'all provide the brilliant ideas to fill said world.

My Contributions

Magic in this setting is one of the fundamental forces of this setting. But this is not the magic of most fantasy novels. This is more like the magic of Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings. It's a deep, mysterious, and powerful force. Magic can come from a deity, a deal, natural ability, or simply tapping into the natural magic of the world.

Technology is not very advanced. The most advanced it gets is crude cannons, nothing hand-held. Most of the time, the only simple magic in the setting can be used to craft and enchant weapons that work just as well as a cannon.

1: No metagaming, godmodding, etc, et al. This is more an IC thing, but it can arise from worldbuilding sometimes.

2: OP is God. Co-OP is Jesus. Only I can override the Co-OP.

3: Grammar. No one-liners IC, no poor grammar in the apps, or I'll lose my shit.

4: Rules are subject to be added when we're further along.

5: Don't be a dickbag.

Vitriolic Hatreds: Generic boring overdone fantasy clichés, like vaguely Scottish/Nordic dwarves who love beer and mining, mysterious good-looking magically-attuned morally-flawless elves, or vaguely tribal animal people who are "closer to nature" and such, unless (and this is the key part) they do something new and interesting with the archetype. Don't get me wrong, the standard fantasy archetypes are popular for a reason and filling one of those archetypes is fine (I, for one, plan to fill the "older, low population race who were/are extremely advanced but are fading from importance" archetype), but I'd rather not stick directly to the formula.
RP Sample: This is a bit of an unusual request, but I haven't done much of anything impressive on P2TM recently, so could I use something I've written on another site as an RP Sample? It's also more world-building focused than most things I've written here, which is appropriate for this thread.
