Illegal Body Parts Being Sold?

I couldn't find any threads about this except for the general abortion thread. This is slightly different though. Planned Parenthood has been accused of selling baby body parts recently and there's been a multitude of videos out about how someone posed as a buyer and then got some sort of Planned Parenthood official to say something seemingly incriminating.

So this isn't even about abortion, this is about selling body parts. Do you think that Planned Parenthood is actually haggling for some extra money? Is what they're doing illegal? Should what they're doing be illegal? Should Planned Parenthood lose their government funding? Do you think that there should be more restrictions or monitoring of their activity with their body parts? What about them changing their procedures so that they get body parts that are better for body part buyers? There's so many questions, what should be done about this, if anything?



In my opinion I think they are selling them, although I wouldn't bet money on it or anything. It just seems very suspicious for them to want to change their technique of extraction and then not be making any profit. If I were them I'd only change it if it made some sort of revenue for me is what I mean. Again, nothing has been proven yet but there seems to be a surge of protesting and some people wanting to defund Planned Parenthood entirely. I think the government should begin monitoring this a lot more heavily. It seems like if it is legal it is by some technicality, which I'm unsure if it should remain legal or not.

Selling body parts is not illegal. However, Planned Parenthood is not supposed to be turning a profit from it. If it has been, people are going to be fired. It's not really that big a deal.

Yeah, Fox News has been going crazy about it lately. MSNBC has also been running a couple shows on it, and CNN ran an article on it as well. Basically they're giving women abortions that aren't as safe as they could be so that they can save the vital organs - which they then sell, illegally. They ask the patient beforehand about it, but they aren't supposed to be doing this regardless. They could be sued a lot of money for putting patients under more danger than they had to be against the government's wishes.

It's already been established the the video is heavily edited to portray planned parenthood in a bad light. With that said, it's still damning evidence that the organization could be going directly against the law to save vital organs to sell.

From what I understand, the videos in question were edited in such a way to appear malicious. Aborted fetuses may be donated for research with the voluntary consent of the mothers, which is completely fine IMO and is actually a great idea. Even if they were selling fetus organs illegally without consent or something, which isn't really the case, Planned Parenthood provides far too much help and support for too many people to just shut it all down and forget about it.
