Image
Avandale is a town along the shores of Maine; but it's not your average town. Here dwell the decedents of various folk legends from the old country. Brought together by happenstance Avandale was founded by British Loyalist who believed they had reached what would become Canada- only to learn otherwise. Thus is the history outsiders read of- but it's not the full truth. Loyalist though the founders of Avandale where, their lineage was of a mystical kind; Charmings, Wolves, and Grimms- people born with powers and knowledge some claim only exists in fairy tales. Avandale, being a border town between Canada and the US has a little of both cultures. Media trends favor those of Canada while the world of Sports favors the US. American flags wave in the breeze over the town hall, and the sheriff's office- and while some individuals move into Canada, many from Canada come to reside in Avandale. Despite this immigration and emmigration the community has maintained it's own character. Both on the surface, and hidden from the eyes of those who have yet to gain the community's trust as the magical lineage of it's residents continues to edge them in directions; and shape the social-political spectrum.

A player can at anytime create a new character, and their is not character limit. Also additional bloodlines may be added to the list. A character can have up to two bloodlines; one from each parent- in such cases they will possess the attributes of both bloodlines. Try not to have anything too gritty or tragic in the character's background.

Bloodlines
Every character belongs to a bloodline, which grants them certain attributes.

Charming

Ancestor: Prince Charming

  • Blessing of Twins: Charmings are more likely then any other bloodline to produce Twin offspring.
  • Always Handsome: Charmings can sustain any number of injuries to the face, and never suffer severe disfigurement. If they do gain a bruise, or scare it just complement's their features.
  • Love at First Sight: Charmings can literally fall in love on sight; which isn't the same as obtaining lust- no- it's more then that. A Charming will gain an instant concern for this one person, and always be able to sense when that someone is in physical danger. The thoughts of a Charming will be filled with ways to make their special someone happy, and impress them; to gain their admiration. Often this means getting involved in sports, though intellectual prowess has been shown from time to time.

Western Fox

Ancestry: Brother Fox aka Brair Fox, Renard, Mr. Fox (The Story of Pino)

  • Shadow of the Fox: Your human guise is flawed for the moon light casts a shadow of your true self.
  • "I have hundred's of Tricks" said the Fox: Western Foxes have a quick mind that's able to come up with many ways out of a trap; may that trap be physical or social in nature. However they only need one solution. Only a Fox who has been in a lot of situations; one with great experience, can hone in on one solution over the various solutions that come to their mind. This none liner line of escapist thought tends to be a hassle for Foxes who lack experience.
  • Form of the Fox: All Foxes can return to their true form at any time, gaining all the attributes of the Fox. Western Foxes include all the foxes of Europe, North America, and Africa.
  • Persuasive: Foxes have a knack for gaining the trust of others- a certain level of Charaisma that makes it easier for them to make friends- or to simply distract or deceive someone long enough to take advantage of them. Foxes thus make great Lawyers, Salesmen, Politicians, and Pychologists even if they tend towards the less savory side of those professions. Most Foxes have an issue with authority that does not come from family, and a dislike for those who use power to keep others down. They prefer to be with the people, and often will attempt to avoid obtaining political power as it changes people; and among the Foxes this change is rather evident. So long as a Fox keeps their concern towards the well fare of others, they'll be just fine- but once that mission is lost- Foxes can become some of the most treacherously ruthless people on the planet.

Grimm

Ancestors: A line that has existed even before the Grimm brothers began publishing bits of their archive.

  • Eyes of the Grimm: A Grimm can always sense when someone of a bloodline is near through an aura that is around such persons (an aura only Grimms can see), but it's only though research that they can come to identify what blood lines fit these auras. Grimms are attracted to individuals of various bloodlines, and compelled to learn of their exploits. Thus most Grimms enter journalism, become bloggers, or get involved in another writing occupation. A Grimm can always identify another Grimm. Grimms who conduct a lot of research and study can even come to see hidden meaning in writtings by others Grimms; picking up on codes, and 'kind terms' in order to obtain information other readers wouldn't pick up on.

Magoosai

Yours is an Inuit line descended from the Shaman Magoosai, who guided his best friend, along side his future lover to the paradise of Sarila so his tribe would no longer go hungry. In doing so he learned of the darkness the current Shaman, disheartened at the lose of his son, had become. For the Shaman had pledged himself to the lord of darkness; thus why the tribe had been starving. Upon returning to his people with food from Sarila Magoosai defeated the evil Shaman in a duel of the spirits with in a tempest.

  • Removing Fog: The Magoosai line can lift away fog with in three meters of themselves.
  • Fae Speak: Magoosai can speak with and understand all creatures who dwell upon the land.
  • Animal Empathy: The Magoosai line can feel animals around them; and sense their conditions- may they be injured, healthy, scared, or content.
  • Bone-mancy: Dead bone can be moved by the Magoosai simply with thought. Items made of bone can move under the Magoosai's influence.

Musician

Your lineage is that of musicians, a passion for music like no other, attracting attention both good and bad, with an extreme affiliation to manipulation through music. Among the very first musicians, a piper, who was well-known in Hamlin for driving out its rat infestations. Next, a fiddler, who by playing his instrument attracted a company of animals, that he manipulated to get away from them.

  • Natural: Gifted in the musical arts, you excel at playing a single instrument of choice.
  • Beautiful Sound: Anytime you play an instrument of your choice, it plays such an alluring tune, that it attracts attention. Desired or not.
  • Music of Command: Your natural talent with music has come with a metaphysical understanding of it's effect upon the simple minded from animals to children (5-13 years of age). With 'simple' notes you can have such entities do your bidding, no matter the cost to themselves.
  • Scorn of the Ill Handed: You like to make deals, especially deals that allow you to preform your music as some service. Like any service, it comes with a price, and should any one dare not forfill their end of the bargain, your more then willing to take vengeance for receiving the short end.

Red

Ancestor: Red Cap

  • Conceal: You have nack for hiding your face, and remaining out of sight. It's likely you where very good at hide, and go seek.
  • Quick Heeled: Reds can turn on a dime while on the run in an unnatural kind of way.

Sleeper
Ancestor: Sleeping Beauity

  • Prone to Narcalepsy: While not everyone of the line suffers Narcalepsy they are prone to have it.
  • Guarded Sleep: None may harm a Sleeper while the sleep, and even their bodies do not age when they slumber. Hardly any noise can stir them- hurricanes, tornadoes- they can sleep though these events and survive- so long as they do nto awake in a condition that can kill them; submerged or crushed for exampe- they'll be just fine.

Hunter

Ancestor: The Huntsman

  • Seeker of Justice: You have a desire to see evil punished; which had lead to many in your line becomes bounty hunters, vigilantes, or officers of the law. Hunters can never bring themselves to kill an innocent- mortal laws do not dictate what is right or wrong for them. Rather the nature of the heart with in an individual determines innocence.
  • Hunter's Awareness: You can detect the general location of any individual you have been in contact with in the last 42 hours. You are not aware of the specifics, but you have the direction in your mind.
  • Weapon Affinity: Hunters have an affinity for throwing knives, bows, crossbows, and fire arms. The Stoker branch, for example, are known for their unnatural knife throwing abilities.

Wolf

Ancestor: Big Bad Wolf aka Old Grey Head

  • The Beast I Am: Your human form is merely a guise to make others comfortable around you; you are actually a large wolf. When in your natural form you receive all the attributes associated with the Grey Wolf.
  • I See Red: Red is a color that stands out to you; for all others are dull; almost grey to your sight.
  • I Hunger: You have a high metabolic rate which means you process energy from food, primarily meat, faster then others. You tend to get a cravings for red meat; such as pork- or at times mutton- assuming you've ever tried the flesh of a lamb. It's a flavor that's hard to forget.

Can we have mixed races? Because two races that are presented seem very interesting to me.

Yes; a character can have the traits of two bloodlines- though only two. They gain all the traits held by both bloodlines; and any weaknesses that come with them.

Appearance:Wahkan has dark, long hair, tied in a ponytail. He has tanned skin, an attribute shared with his mother. He has brown eyes but when a wolf, dark red. He often wears dark clothing and has a scar on his left eye as well as his chest.He wears a necklace which belonged to his mother, which depicts an eagle feather. He is of average height and weight for his age.
Brief Bio:
Wahkan Etu Nashoba was born in Avandale 21 years ago, by a father with Grimm bloodline, who was an author, and a mother with Wolf bloodline, who enjoyed to hunt. They were both Native Americans.They were very loving, taking great care of their child, who grew up wanting to become an author, but who also enjoyed to hunt and transform to the large wolf. He began writing short stories at the age of nine, stories about life, fantasy, nature and mysteries. He wrote both on the Internet and on paper, enjoying both modern and more traditional things. On a dark night, while his parents were driving, returning from a business trip, they were struck by an oncoming truck, killing them instantly. When Wahkan found out, he transformed to a vicious wolf once more, but this time for a week, killing animals in the forest. Since then, three years ago, he has been living alone, writing, reading and learning the skills of his bloodlines.

That is sound advice :p though most players simply use an image rather then give a description; and most of the images they use are connected to some other character- and while I know for personal experience that giving a face to one's creation makes it more your own- I can't help but feel that something is taken away. I'm perfectly fine with players putting an image to their character, but sought to encourage the use of words to describe characters. Images may be placed after the Name section, and before Gender. If the other Ops feels an appearance section needed I shall add such a section in that location on the application;

I'm just going to put this here, because you (Mister Harbertia) did not give any comment about it in the original thread. I just want to know if there were any mistakes made that I might need to change.

Background information
  • Deceptive, clever, ingenuous, and seemingly evil, the Renards are known often as tricksters, yet not all in the bloodline are not exactly this way.
  • Children of the bloodline are fast, flexible, and fairly dangerous. Though not as vicious as wolves, they can give quite a bite. But this is in their true form.
  • A Renard's ability to catch the attention of his target is exceptional. There are times when a victim may never know what he's been holding until it, and the thief, are gone. A lot of objects may catch the eye of a Renard. Usually they're things of value or things that are often attractive to little children.
  • Renards will attempt to deceive even the most powerful of people. From beggars to mayors of townships. There are no exceptions to who they may try to lie to in order to get what they want.
  • The true form of a Renard may vary depending on the environment in which he was born. In snow, a Renard's true form may have white, silver or gray fur. In warm places, they may have darker fur with different patterns. In places where temperatures and other things vary, their true form may look much different.
  • Renards seem to have a deep hatred against lions, woodsmen, wolves, storks, cats, and eagles. However, they may not show this characteristic until they have the upper hand.

Alternate Bloodline Suggestion:
Klabautermann

An offshoot of the Kobold bloodline, these wesen migrated from work as miners and housekeepers to evolve into sailors and fishermen. When in woged, the Klabautermann shrinks to a size about three foot tall and their skin takes on patterns of wood grain, with older klabautermann appearing more twisted and gnarled. Typically male, they partner with female kobold housekeepers and infrequently with human women.

They most often work as accomplished carpenters, boat builders, sailors and fishermen.

Klabautermann have three "powers". With a glance, they can detect when ill-fortune will affect a person within the period of a day. Once per day, they may use their gaze to instill carelessness, or ineptitude, upon a person for a day. On the other side of the coin, once per day, they may bless a person with gracefullness and insight for a day.

Brief Bio: Meer immigrated from Germany five years ago and has largely been accepted by the wesen of Avandale. He was mostly reared by his grandfather with a love of fine carpentry and wooden boats. Meer typically wakes early to fish, selling his catch to local restaurants, works at building fishing boats in the late morning to mid-afternoon and enjoys quiet evenings in his apartment.
Meer has two close friends, a naiad brother and sister, Herman and Hermione Rhinegold, who often entice him to play the concertina while the brother and sister play tabor and violin, respectively. On rare ocassions they will allow themselves to be talked into performing in a pub or concert setting, where they are billed as "Three Sheets to the Wind".

I'd like to start over with the same character I used in the original FMG, though some parts like 'Grimsdale' will have to be edited out to fit in with the continuity of the relaunch:

Bloodline:

Family Grimm from maternal bloodline; Red Hooded from paternal bloodline

Bio:

Clayton never knew his Red Hooded father who disappeared not long before he was born. For a while he was raised alone by his single mother who hailed from the Family Grimm decent. Around his third birthday his mother married to a distant cousin, another member of the Family Grimm.

Behind the closed doors of the decaying Grimmersdale Public Library there is a hidden vault located which contains a multitude of secret books reserved only for members of the Family Grimm, to which Clayton has access to; from which he learns much about the hidden world and researches his ancestors. However he feels disillusioned at the idea of predestiny and wishes to take control of his life, and to an extent desires to live it out normally.

His Red Hooded heritage has given him slightly feminine facial features, especially his eyes which while charming make him feel slightly embarrassed about it. He also possesses an innate desire to stand out which conflicts with his other desire to live a normal life. He is light and agile, as well as a fast runner and a quick thinker from his mother's side, though weak when it comes to raw strength.

He also has a younger 12 year old pure Grimm half sister from his mother's second marriage.

Appearance: Long blonde hair, usually kept up in a ponytail with curls. Loves to wear latest fashions, usually wears a fancy blouse and skinny jeans. Silk pajamas for night time and when she's relaxing around the house likes to wear sweatpants and a gym shirt.

Appearance:Brief Bio: Meer immigrated from Germany five years ago and has largely been accepted by the wesen of Avandale. He was mostly reared by his grandfather with a love of fine carpentry and wooden boats. Meer typically wakes early to fish, selling his catch to local restaurants, works at building fishing boats in the late morning to mid-afternoon and enjoys quiet evenings in his apartment (with an occaisional foray to local pubs).
Meer has two close friends, a naiad brother and sister, Herman and Hermione Rhinegold.


An interesting suggestion; as it's been a long time since I've seen traditional Kobolds in use. I'm not sure the others can see the fisherman in a rain gear and rubber boots, but with that in mind I'm willing to allow this as a test run. Avandale's coastal location makes this a great location to try this line out. Since the Kobold's you have presented are less creatures and more- well; you know. So yes; Ulric is Accepted :)

Should it all go well I'll add the Klabautermann to the list. I might even add them sooner.

Your character's aunt and uncle can't be Cinderella and Prince Charming- unless you mean they are of those lines, in which case I'd like you to make that clearer. This is roughly the modern day that the RP takes place.

Request to add The Musician bloodline from the previous incarnation of this RP?

Natural: Gifted in the musical arts, you excel at playing a single instrument of choice.
Beautiful Sound: Anytime you play an instrument of your choice, it plays such an alluring tune, that it attracts attention. Desired or not.
Music of Command: Your natural talent with music has come with a metaphysical understanding of it's effect upon the simple minded from animals to children (5-13 years of age). With 'simple' notes you can have such entities do your bidding, no matter the cost to themselves.
Scorn of the Ill Handed: You like to make deals, especially deals that allow you to perform your music as some service. Like any service, it comes with a price, and should anyone dare not fulfill their end of the bargain, you're more then willing to take vengeance for receiving the short end.

I'm currently content with working with the default bloodlines provided, at the moment I'm drafting a new character based on the Wolf bloodline.
