It was a cold morning in Trygos, as another snowstorm loomed over the fantastic european-styled sectors of the city.
The failing socialist government holds very little control, and while things had remained stable in Latonos because of public participation in keeping the country running, that is no longer the case.

Self-proclaimed Lord Praxdin, and his band of Natalists (a Christian offshoot native to Latonos) have seized control of the Supreme People's Palace, and have already begun instigating their theocratic rule and reversing the socialist policies and laws. The Natalists have high ranking professions, with Praxdin himself serving as Secretary General in the old Socialist government.

The severely weak central government cannot respond to the threat adequately. The Red Army is laying down its weapons and switching allegiance to the anti-communist theocratic Natalists, in order to escape their prosecution.

Within hours, the Natalists have secured 12 of the population of 24 million population, and ¹/₆th of the landmass of the country.

With it looking like the Socialist Republic will collapse in any second, many of the un-communist elements of society want to quickly replace the Communist Government with a strong national one and ward off another totalitarian era in Latonos. Capitalistic and Democratic elements within the Communist Party could easily unite if they had the international support, and establish their own counter-government against the Free United Federation; vanquishing the Socialist Republic in the process.

The Natalists have created the Free United Federation to challenge the Socialist Republics power, and seek to create a theocracy based on the Natalist ideology. They are claiming to be the legitimate government, and they need support to quickly take the remaining cities on the main island, forcing the Socialist Republic to surrender.

The Emergency Troika represents the last vestiges of the Socialist Republic and Communism in Latonos, consisting of 57 Communist Party senators who are currently separated throughout the nation, and calling for the international community to strengthen their legitimacy republic. Current Premier, Howard Slavnosti and the rest of the Supreme Soyeti were in Trygos at the time of the coup, and the emergency Troika consists merely of low level bureaucrats who have no idea how to organise the country. With support, they could quickly push for a Red Army offensive and retake Trygos before the FUF spreads further.

Without intervention, it certainly looks like the Natalists will win the war without firing a shot.

No shots have yet been fired, but they may soon come, and with them, another civil war may break out in the nation.

Pradigos, Latonos

Senator Mikhail Tendhalin was arriving at the city hall in time. Flights from all over the remaining parts of the country had convened onto Pradigos, the second biggest city on Latonos, which was riding on the verge of fundamentalist Natalist takeover. The flights were carrying special envoys from local chapters of the Communist Party to decide on an emergency Premier, since no one had heard whether or not Premier Slavnosti was still alive or not.

Mikhail was confident he would win the confidence of his comrades and become the next Premier of Latonos, and hopefully push back the reactionary tide back to where it came.
The city hall was crowded, with the many frightened delegates. He couldn't blame them for their anxiety, for the future of the nation and their very lives were unknown.

Unopposed, Natalist-aligned forces have marched into Calwust, thus bringing the western half of island under their control.
In the East, Pradigos was occupied by military forces friendly to the Communist Party. The Government, headed by their new Primer, Mikhail Tendhalin, has retreated to Valdograd in fear of persecution from oncoming fundamentalist forces.
A battle may soon break out over the city, of which the victor will undoubtedly win control of the rest of the nation.

Anti-Communist rioting has broken out in Yanitov. Chapter Communists from Valdograd have withdrawn from the Government, and soon, Yanitov could could succeed from the Communist Government.

A man wearing full black clothes carrying a black jacket was walking through a crowd in the busiest part of town. He stood up on a wooden box and fired three pistol shots into air. He waited until the majority was looking at him. “We must fight against the Communist tyrants that are barely in control. I have recieved word that Vesperian troops have left 6 hours ago and will arrive in an hour to save us!” The man yelled. “But we must fight the Communists until then! I beg that if you support creating a stronger government that you fight with me! Who's with me?!”

Calwust, Latonos

Already mobilized prior to sending the message, as the message was more of a demand than anything else, a massive Iverik fleet was dispatched to stop the reactionary dogs. Leading this fleet were three capitol-class frigates, the forward one specializing in anti-air weaponry and an advanced detection system. The two closely following behind that specialized in detection of under-water weaponry, specifically mines and submarines. Behind these large frigate were two destroyers followed by several cruisers. At the very tail end of the fleet was an aircraft carrier. This fleet made up an enormous chunk of the Iverik's entire military budget, and there was undoubtedly no way this could be pushed back. Not by the reactionaries, nor by Latonos. In the fleet there were also three main transport ships, being defended by the destroyers, carrying about 5,500 trained soldier in total. The Iveriks were putting most of their money, metaphorically speaking, into this push with the goal of slicing through the island and splitting the fascists in half. This could create a two front war in favor of the Iveriks, and would give complete dominance over these terrorists. The fleet moved into Kolpost Bay, approaching Calwust.

Padrigos Front

Two transports guarded by patrol ships splitted off from the main fleet heading towards Calwust, and instead turned to the left, moving toward Valdograd. These transports held an additional 1,500 soldiers and over a hundred Iverik Sabre tanks. These tanks stressed heavy armor, firepower, and supplies over speed and stealth. This made the tanks excellent defensive units, but poor offensive units. The soldiers, tanks, and command jeeps docked up near Valdoglad, quickly marching in as if they felt like they owned the land. The soldiers, jeeps, and tanks quickly made it to Padrigos.

The international community shall accept the will of the people of Latonos, so long as it does not compel them to avenge transgressions against innocence.

Provided the Natalist movement can succeed in this endeavor, a new regime, founded on divine order shall be ushered into the world, and will long continue into the future. We are prepared to make significant contributions to your efforts to carry out this revolution, and will provide generous material aid, in addition to instruments of war, to secure your final triumph. As this letter finds its way to you, elements of the Astavian armed forces are in the process of mobilization for deployment to Latonos, for the sake of combating foreign intervention forces, and wiping out communist resistance to the rise of the Natalist movement. The Communist Party's control over Yanitov has been usurped by anti-communist Nationalist Force militias, who took control of the City Soviet earlier today, and liberating the region from Communist rule. During the overthrow, Natalites took the islands of the Sternic strait without a shot.

"The Black Revolution", as they have organised themselves, fly black banners in contrast to the Communist Red to symbolise the death and destruction caused by the Latonosian socialist experiment.
Black blocs dominate the streets of Sitislamini and Valdograd, edging further and further towards the full collapse of the Community Party's control of the country.

Raymond Anton Yetseliv is claiming to be the President of the party, ruling from the small town of Katoloni in the nations far-north. The current premier refuses to recognised the threat posed, instead focussing on the Natalites to the south.

Caracasus International Affairs and Diplomacy

A socialist state on the edge of crumbling, with an ineffective government on one side and theocratic rebels on the other. Havelock sighed. Military and social analysts had predicted a 73% chance of a full civil war within Latonos. Already a movement calling itself the Natalists had seized control of part of the state, refusing to acknowledge the rule of their government.

The worst outcome would be a theocratic dictatorship taking hold; Latonos was a powerful nation with a strong economy. Should that power be turned against Caracasus or her allies... Havelock shuddered to himself. Military intervention by Caracasus might serve to stabilize the collapsing government, however there was a fair chance that the nation would continue to implode upon itself. On the other hand, a series of directed strikes against the Natalists could cripple the organisation before it began to seriously take hold. Or it could serve to solidify public support behind a foreign military power, and further destabilize the government of Latonos.

The debate had reached no real conclusion. The problem was a lack of information - and what was needed was intelligence. Havelock made a few calls, attended a couple of meetings and by the end of the day a plan took shape.

Caracasus would send spies into regions held by Natalists and still under government control. Nineday House would take advantage of the chaos to send high-altitude spy planes and drones to gather more information on armed forces within the area, whilst taking reasonable precautions to ensure they were not detected. Diplomats would hold meetings with senior members of Latonos's government to gauge the strength and control of the government. A small detatchment of Caracasusian Guerrillas were tasked with breaking into offices to gather further information on the situation.

Within a day, the Caracasusian intelligence services had departed their homeland in search of information.

Vesperian planes flew close to the city of Sitislamini. Vesperian soldiers jumped from the planes and landed in the city. They tried to usher the citizens who weren't fighting to a safe place.

Meanwhile, at the coast right by the city more Vesperian soldiers were running off the boats to take the city away from the Communists. The soldiers broke into the city and starting shooting anyone who was fighting for the Communists. A Vesperian Lieutenant said to the man in black, “Good job Inquisitor. You created the instability we needed to free them. I have been ordered by Vesper One himself to let you take control of the troops stationed here.”
“Thank you Lieutenant. I want this to end quickly and I want all city officials to be kept alive so they can face interrogation and trial.” The Inquisitor said.
“Yes sir.” The Lieutenant said. He said the orders into a walkie talkie.

While the soldiers were still fighting, a group broke off and started running towards the city hall.

A young boy awakes at the break of dawn. He hears sirens, but is confused. Why would there be sirens? He pulls away the curtains from his window and sees jets cutting through the air across the Stremic Strait. BOOM.

The villages quakes as bombs begin to explode all around them. There seem to be no men, but only planes.

Danyassiysk has begun a bombing campaign against the Natalists on the western side of the country. Their planes fly from just south of the Stremic strait and are engaging enemy positions all along the western side of the central island.

Troops carriers have pulled back, and many destroyers, battleships, and submarines have come to assist the aircraft carriers.

As the bombing campaign continues to ravish the western side of the Natalists army, Danyassiysk has sent 35,000 able bodied and well equipped men to Valdograd to support the communist troops. Danyassiysk has also donated 50 high tech jets to the communist cause.

It has come to may attention that that Latonos is facing civil war. It appears the conflict erupting in Latonos is indeed brutal, especially withe the coalitions mounting on either side of the political shape of Latonos. Therfore, for the sake of overseas domination, the Freakish Empire here by declares a state of relief effort in order to prevent further destruction. I, Heenrik van Oranjenstad, commission the First Naval Task Force to the Coast of Latonos to conduct the deployment of Marines to establish a peaceful regime in Latonos.
We hope to see a fortunate future for the state of Latonos.

The 1st fleet, consisting of two Iowa class battleships, six O'Kane class destroyers, two Ronald Reagan class aircraft carriers, and several transport ships carrying U.S. Marines, is heading to Genise Bay to land near the city of Pradigos. Upon spotting First Naval Task Force of Freakoland heading to Latonos, the 1st Fleet attempts to intercept to see who's side they're on.
"What do we do if they refuse to help the Natalists?" A marine asks as he chambers a round into his M5A2 Carbine
"Obvious. Take as many of 'em prisoner and force them to add these ships to our fleet. Might make the landing much easier for us" his sergeant replies as he and his squad continue on their way to the VTOL about to take off and head for the fleet.
(First time really RPing here please forgive me if I screw up)

The Admiral receives the message and quickly orders his communications officer to tell the marines to stand down. The marines reluctantly comply and, while onboard the ships, keep their weapons lowered. The Admiral boards one of the returning VTOLs and heads out to the flagship to try and discuss the near deadly incident and try to understand whose side this naval task force is on.

Apoligies for quick heating up. I know my fleet isn't as realistic as it should be (Seriously Iowa battleships and Ronald Reagan Aircraft carriers despite having troops and other weapons and vehicles stuck in the Fifties) (BTW Resistance rocks

) Didn't realize how out of hand this was getting.
On the other hand I suppose it could show how my guys operate. If a group is wanting independence and other nations are in the way bomb 'em to hell and damn the consequences or something like that.
Also I was gonna make an RP post showing senators back on the mainland lambasting Congress for quickly going to war instead of giving aid (saying their "lucky these ships are in one piece" implying the whole fleet is all that have naval wise and saying their troops are "overly glorified militia")
Reason I gave so overpowered ships was to give my boys and men a fighting chance at sea.
