The Multiverse Premier League?
A premier league-type league where each nation nominates one club (non-UICA) to participate in the league. It would be strictly standalone, and non-UICA. In no way, this is intended to harm or work against the UICA - it’s something entirely different. There is a maximum of one puppet (please declare).

How will it work?
For this second season, we have a Premier League with twelve teams, a Championship from ten teams and a conference, split in two groups, with twenty-one teams. These squads play a home-and-away season - who gathers the most points takes home the title. For the Conference, the top-five teams from A and B play a play-off which could determine upon promotion in light of teams signing off for season three. The winners of group A and B play for the Conference title.

For this season, we also have a Cup. This tournament features all participating teams and works with a single game knock-out format.

In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

AUGUSTINOPLE SAINTS
Preferred Formation:
4-1-4-1
Style Modifier: -1.5
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Sponsor: GoodLock Betting Syndicate

It was decided that the formation of a professional team is an essential step in the development of football in Pravenna - with a warranted reputation for bribery, match-fixing and corruption throughout all levels of the game, the new dictator of Pravenna, Generalissimo Augustine, has made the regeneration of the sport a personal vanity project. The indomitable Constantine Katsaros balances his duties here with his management of the national team. The team is a strange mixture of nationalities and skills, cobbled together mostly in the hopes of finding a new start... much like the country itself.

First Team
Image
The Saints are built on a solid back line and quick counterattacking play, though they have a strong set of technical players across the midfield. If needed to, they're well-capable of taking the initiative in possession and working past defences... but priority 1 is always keeping the clean sheet.

Supplied by a somewhat reluctant Cloaker, of Nephara. Never has the phrase 'your money's good here' been more dubious.

Staff
Manager: Constantine Katsaros
Asst. Manager: Ange Katsaros

Constantine Katsaros enjoys a status he'd never expected; hero. It was Katsaros, the rough, ragged First Division manager from Nephara, who raised Pravenna to respectability. It was Katsaros who lead them to concede just once in six matches - and that against mighty Eura. And it's been Katsaros who has made Pravenna represent anything other than 'a corrupt disgrace'. His efforts over two Cope Rushmori have lead to him getting this job, as well - a challenge that will be unlike any other. This time, he comes from a position of strength.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Anastasia Stasinopolous (c) - Age 29 - PRV
12 - GK - Evangelos Tsakiris - Age 25 - PRV
20 - GK - Michael Lazaridis - Age 20 - PRV

An incorruptible leader and prominent, outspoken opponent of match-fixing, Anastasia Stasinopolous has long been admired by Katsaros, and while a stint in Jeckland didn't quite pan out she was a natural choice for the armband. Tsakiris, formerly Creed United's backup goalkeeper, showed significant promise but hasn't quite lived up to it so far. Lazaridis is young filler, not much expected of him.

Defenders
2 - RB - Jess Peacock - Age 23 - BRE
3 - LB - Triffid Ramsey - Age 21 - NPH
5 - CB - Medea Sgouros - Age 28 - PRV
6 - CB - Stern Katsalidis - Age 27 - PRV
13 - CB - Tasos Pagonis - Age 33 - PRV
17 - LB - Daniel Bishop - Age 31 - QUE
18 - CB - Hannah Kontos - Age 22 - PRV
23 - RB - Athan Lekas - Age 32 - PRV

The centreback pairing are both Pravennan internationals, with one-time baker Sgouros taken from the Nepharim fourth-tier and Katsalidis an A-League squad player. Needless to say, Katsalidis is the better player, and expected to be a rock of the squad - but both did well in the Copa Rushmori regardless. Peacock was bought on the recommendation of teammate Vatskalis, a once-promising rightback trying to rebuild her career after a devastating series of injuries. Ramsey is the daughter of AFC Treason (and former Nephara) manager Gethin, sadly unable to cut it at the top level and cut adrift from the academy, but some of that training's stuck. Ex-military and former amateur Daniel Bishop backs up at leftback, with Pravennans Lekas (a capped international), the quick Kontos and the powerful, glacial Pagonis also filling up the ranks.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Juliet Vatskalis (vc) - Age 30 - PRV
7 - RM - Rhianna Bartok - Age 31 - NPH
8 - CM - Alex Malone - Age 24 - VLM
10 - CM - Penelope Midstreet - Age 32 - NPH
11 - LM - Nial Feirsen - Age 23 - SCH
15 - RM - Vasilis Panagakos - Age 22 - PRV
16 - LM - Angelos Souvanis - Age 21 - PRV
19 - CM - Philippa Costas - Age 29 - PRV
21 - DM - Chris Johannson - Age 33 - EQS

Vice-captain Juliet Vatskalis, formerly of Westpike United, was the first Pravennan player to score a goal as a box-to-box midfielder - a good all-rounder, she'll be used to cover the two midfielders ahead of her who won't or can't put in the defensive work necessary. Nepharim U-21 international Bartok has been a journeyman after a short stint in the Icemark, never spending more than three years with a club. A ferocious right foot, no left foot. Malone was released early from the Strangers for a piss-poor attitude, and believes he's significantly better than he is. Another Nepharim, Penelope Midstreet, is an accomplished player, formerly of Sabrefell Moths, but has spent four years out of football after being released. A true playmaker, she's the gamble of the outfit. A decent, aggressive winger, Feirsen's early promise is threatening to burn out, but a good cross, a strong heart and an eye for set pieces makes him a strong asset. Souvanis and Panagakos are practically identical wingers, both exceptionally fast but totally lacking in end product. Pravennan international Costas is a poor player with a good passing range and not much else. Johannson, a journeyman from the lower tiers of the Equestrian States, kicks people.

Forwards
9 - ST - Theo Michaels - Age 25 - PRV
14 - ST - Kostas Metaxas - Age 23 - PRV
22 - ST - Sarah Dennis - Age 19 - SCH

One of the inaugural signings of (the new incarnation of) the Saints, journeyman striker Theo Michaels has had a strange career. A Sabrefell Athletic academy graduate, he started just two games for them before moving to Super Llamaland and not really cutting it there, either - immediately being loaned out to the second tier, and never really thriving. But he's quick and athletic, despite suspect finishing, and he hopes to rebuild his career for the Saints. Metaxas is Plan B, a large man with a good head on his shoulders but shouldn't be trusted to control the ball. Dennis is a quick, clever, cultured forward, capped at U-19 level for Schottia, who's never played mixed-sex football before but looks ready for it now. She's the like-for-like backup to Michaels, with a significantly better mentality.

SPORTING SANGTI
LOS PEGASUS

Club Info
Nation: The Royal Barangay (TRB)
Location: Sangti, Region Capital and Zalesgon, Region Capital
Nickname: Los Pegasus (The Pegasus)
Colors: Red and Yellow
Owners: Carrubonieta - Iscrachi Group (CIG), who also owns Carrubonieta Il Gueti.

Club Staff
Manager: Izrael Casabuena (46) [Style Mod: -4.68]
Ex-manager of Real Cintore, Casabuena delivered Los Verdeblancos' first trophy - the Federation Club Cup. He was at the reins when the club reached the final of the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones, who lost against OE Penthesilea. He would not win further trophies, as he was dismissed before the start of the 2018 season. Casabuena is still relatively young, and his defensive-based strategy would hope to pay dividends.

Assistant Manager: Dickson Lampa (39)
Ex-defender for Racing Xinghua Baoyam and the National Team. Upon retiring from club and international football, he and Cyril Cablayan took coaching courses, with the latter now manager of CF Sangti. He hopes to lead a club to the league title someday, but he has to learn the ropes from the manager.

Stadia
For big games and matches with the Premier League teams (if any) will be held in StadiumSangti. The KPMB have given the club permission to use the venue, while CF Sangti is not yet in the top tier of Barangayan domestic football. Most of the games will be played on the 5,241 capacity Estadio Municipal de Zalesgon, near Sangti.

There are plans for a 40,000 seater stadium inside the city proper, with a view for stadium sharing with CF Sangti and Project +90, in which the latter will sign a partnership with Los Pegasus. This is now in the planning phase.

Kits

Sangti Sports will be the first choice kitmakers for the club, despite the fact that Justicia currently supplies Carrubonieta Il Gueti, another of the Iscrachi Group's clubs. Iscrachi will be the shirt sponsors for the first season, with a view of finding more sponsors for the future. FlyRB, a new aviation company that will fly the skies on May 2024, will be the travel partners of the club.

The first kit will adorn the colors of Los Pegasus, with a wide hoop pattern. Red shorts will be available in cases of a shorts clash. The away kit will be blue with red trim and shorts. The third kit will be green with yellow trim. Goalie kits will be yellow and black generic keeper kits.

What you need to know about Pays d'en Haut:

Because home games will be played in les Pays d'en Haut there is a few things other nations need to know. Pays d'en Haut is a tribal oligarchy. The country is ruled by the 13 ruling clan leaders. There is no elections, to become one of the ruling clan leader, a clan leader must kill (preferably by sword) a ruling clan leader and take his place. And to become a clan leader, someone must kill the clan leader of his own clan. If a clan leader is killed by the leader of another clan, his son becomes the clan leader if he's older than 12 years old.

Pays d'en Haut is a backward nation with no technology. Women don't work, they stay at home all day, do housework and cooks. They don't have much rights, they aren't allowed to become clan leaders. Pays d'en Haut is a catholic nation and all other religions are banned. French is the only spoken language and all other language are banned. People not complying to these laws are executed. Here is the list of crimes passible of the death penalty: Speaking another language than French, following another religion than catholicism, being atheist, fornication, adultery, rape, sexual assault, prostitution, homosexuality, incest, bestiality, public nudity, having sex in public, doing drugs, being an elf, a sapient pony or a sapient whatever else (other than human).

As I said, you can be executed for speaking another language than French, but don't worry. Tourists who carry an orange card around their neck are excluded from this law but the orange card must be viewable at all time. So if a tourist, soccer player, journalist have his/her orange card around his/her neck he's/she's allowed to speak another language than French. They still can be executed for all other crimes. Soccer players or coaches who are elves or sapient ponies can avoid execution too. The best example is Valanora when they played a game in les Pays d'en Haut they were still allowed to play without being executed.

So we have no technology, that means we have no computers. In fact our population don't use computers, but we have build a technology center for foreign journalists. The foreign journalist goes at soccer games, take hand written notes and then goes to the technology center and use a computer with a dial up internet to send his article. Or he can bring his laptop to the stadium, but we have no wifi in the stadium, write his article on his laptop, go to the technology center and use an usb key to transfer the article to a computer connected with a dial up internet. If our computers has an usb port, it's not sure. Games can by televised too. Your television network has to bring its own truck, cameras and technology by plane to our country.

We also don't have the technology to have cars. When arriving at the airport, your players and fans will travel to their hotel and the stadium using a carriage. If they have a valid horse riding liscence, they can ride a horse, it's faster than using the carriage.

ARSENAL DE RELEINTHI
OFFICIAL MULTIVERSE PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM SHEET

Arsenal de Releinthi is considered one of the most successful football teams in Abanhfleft's history, having won a total of twenty-seven league titles and twelve Kopa Futbol ng Abanhfleft championships. Arsenal de Releinthi was one of the founding members of the Fleftic Premier League when it was established by the top twenty teams of the old Fleftic Football League in association with Dreamscape Cable (similar to the English Premier League). As winners of the 2014-15 Premier League, Arsenal de Releinthi was nominated for a place in the Multiverse Premier League, which was soon accepted. Arsenal de Releinthi was eventually placed in Conference B, the third level of the MPL pyramid. Arsenal de Releinthi fans, commonly known as the Gunners, find it funny that the best team of the Premier League is in the third level of the MPL while Thereisnogodistan FC, which is in the third level of the Fleftic league pyramid, is right up at the top of the MPL, but they hope to change that particular situation soon.

Capacity: est. 50,000
Record attendance: 57,009 (Arsenal de Releinthi vs. Riuwiee United; May 3, 2015)
Operator: FC Arsenal de Releinthi
Short history: Arsenal de Releinthi mooted moving to a new stadium ever since 1993, but it was only in 2002 that the club managed to get permission to begin construction on the site of a former landfill after disputes with the city council and land planning office. Even then, it was only after Monsanto agreed to shoulder the cost of the new stadium that it was even built, and because of this, the stadium was named Monsanto Stadium. Arsenal de Releinthi and Monsanto entered into a seven-year contract extension this year, potentially extending Monsanto's sponsorship of the club up to 2021.

Anything except killing is fair game, and Arsenal fans are likely to start riots if they are winning or losing. Just a friendly reminder.

Overview

The Fiefdom Soccer Federation (FSF), the governing body of Cosumarite soccer, immediately recognized the monetary potential of participating in the first edition of the Multiverse Premier League. However, none of our top clubs were keen on spending resources on the fledgling competition, especially with a new domestic season right around the corner. Eventually, after adding additional financial incentive, the FSF ended up with a bunch of fourth and fifth tier Cosumarite clubs as its only volunteers to represent Cosumar in the event. After a random drawing, fifth-division colonial side Alstagruuket Sarlaccs FC was chosen as the Cosumarite team for the first MPL season. Against all odds, they did very well and competed in the top division of the MPL. This success boosted their confidence and they subsequently won promotion in the next domestic season - they are now a member of the Cosumarite fourth division. As the MPL grows and becomes a more prestigious tournament, more prestigious clubs from Cosumar may take notice. For example, a Tredje Ligan (third-division) club will try its hand in this upcoming second edition, hoping to replicate Alstagruuket's success story.

But for now, the MPL is stuck with this obscure team from Nuur, one of Cosumar's extraterrestrial colonies. Nuur is a nearby desert planet, and was one of the first planets colonized by Cosumarites about 250 years ago. Clubs from Cosumar's extraplanetary colonies compete alongside Cosumarite clubs in the FSF pyramid, though none have managed to crack the Harlighet Ligan (top flight). At the moment, the colonial club highest up the ladder is Regela United (from the colonial planet Regela) in the Sekundar Ligan (second division). Anyways, since Nuur is a desert planet with not much grass to speak of, the Sarlaccs' home matches are played on a pitch of sand at Stade de Metouran. Artificial turf is used by other clubs on Nuur, but Alstagruuket has decided to go with the natural environment. The sandy surface suits their defensive style of play and makes it difficult to score goals. They're used to playing on sand, which will be a huge advantage over visitors. Clubs from nations that have not developed space transportation technology will be provided free transportation via shuttle ship to the planet Nuur when playing the Sarlaccs. The Village of Alstagruuket is the fourth-largest settlement on Nuur, with a population of just over 100,000. Human settlers live peacefully alongside the indigenous sentient species: the Reavan.

F.C. RAEDBURG

Football Club Raedburg, commonly known as F.C. Raedburg, FC Raedburg, FCR or simply Raedburg, is a professional football club based in Raedburg, Sacarpa in Zitru. The club was officially founded on 9 July 1892 by a group of Aankejn-Zitran sailors returning to Sacarpa after a voyage to Teremult.

Raedburg has long been considered the most successful Zitran football club. Domestically the club have won a record twelve National Soccer League titles, ten National Cup titles and seven League Cups. Raedburg was a founding member of the National Soccer League, established in 1992 when various clubs voted to split from the Football League, and is one of the five clubs to have never been relegated - Balsak, Dynamo Sportaka, Mortoge and Rockvale are the others. In Zuropean competition, Raedburg have won ten URFA Champions League titles, a record which is still held today, and the team have been crowned URFA Super Cup champions on four occasions. The Dragons came second in the 2013-14 National Soccer League season behind only Tweakavant.

Michaels, Sgouros and Tsakiris smiled awkwardly for the camera.
Constantine Katsaros looked over them as the camera flashed, taking pictures of them in their sashed shirts. Michaels in the home, Sgouros the away, Tsakiris, naturally, in the plainer sky blue goalkeeper shirt. Good signings, the three of them.
Theo Michaels, a Sabrefell Athletic youth graduate with one Premiership goal to his name, now cut from his contract in Llamaland. Arguably the division's standout striker... but rebuilding his shattered confidence would take some doing.
Michaels had been a bright young thing only a few years ago. Medea Sgouros had been a baker. She'd played for Diamondqueen in the fifth and then fourth tiers of the Nepharim league, but any player who could hold her ground in the Copa Rushmori was a player worth having.
Tsakiris had one cap for Pravenna to his name. They'd lost the friendly 6-0, and now he was blocked by Theoklitos and Stasinopolous. Still, he'd been Creed United's backup goalkeeper. They'd let him go. Even Katsaros hoped he could get a stronger first-choice goalkeeper, but Tsakiris would do, if it came to it. And yet, he wasn't a lost cause yet. Headstrong, belligerent, determined.
They were three of the four inaugural signings. The fourth, a Nepharim, wasn't ready for the cameras. Penelope Midstreet had been released by the Sabrefell Moths four years ago after doing a capable job for them in the Premiership for years, though she never really made it regularly into the first team. But while the establishment of a world-wide transfer window as well as several other initiatives by UICA had given plenty of journeymen a second chance abroad, and big 33-year old Nepharim centrebacks and strikers were a regular sight throughout the world, nobody had wanted Midstreet. She was slow, weak, a little fragile. The years out of football had not been kind.
Katsaros had only called her for a trial as a whim. She'd accepted, after a long wait. Early signs hadn't been encouraging. She was out of shape, had started chain-smoking - she'd pledged to shed the habit, or at least cut down. He'd accepted that. And in return, with the ball at her feet, Midstreet was... probably the best player in the tier for pure technique. Surely, he could make use of that.
But he wasn't about to wheel out a player who couldn't handle an hour's jogging in front of the cameras, not yet.
A few other deals with other connections he had were clicking into place, too. Anastasia Stasinopolous, a good goalkeeper with captain potential, was receptive, and Philippa Costas would come if called for very little money.
There was something he was a little shady on, though. That sponsorship logo ... he didn't quite recognise it, but it was playing on the edges of his conscious...
Oh, no.
Surely he hadn't.
Could the Generalissimo of Pravenna really have struck up a deal with the most unscrupulous betting agency in the whole of Nephara?

Andrea Truelock smiled. "I'm glad we've come to an agreement, Generalissimo."
It was not a particularly reassuring smile, despite coming from an attractive blonde woman in her late twenties, dressed in a stylish white suit and opaque, fashionable shades. Another woman in the same clothing, roughly the same age, but six inches taller and rippling with muscle sat next to her, silent.
The Generalissimo wondered why she never spoke. "Why, Ms. Truelock," he said, trying not to sound too happy with the deal, "It is fine! Though you do drive a hard bargain..."
It wasn't purely a sponsorship that the Goodlock betting syndicate had demanded. They'd also requested sole rights to handle betting on the Pravennan league. Strange, given that it was an obscure, semi-professional, eight-team league on a rock in the middle of Rushmore that didn't come close to reaching his lofty aspirations. In return, they had offered quite a generous amount of money. How could he say no to that?
Katsaros, his enigmatic manager, would surely be pleased with this.
"Well, that's the nature of the bargaining table, I'm afraid," replied Truelock airily. "Though I'm glad we have both come away with a satisfactory arrangement."
She extended a hand. The Generalissimo shook it.
"Well, I'm afraid we have to leave now, Your Excellence," said Truelock briskly. She picked up a white cane as she stood, and the woman next to her clicked the briefcase shut and slid it across the table before taking Truelock's spare hand. "You know how to reach me."
"I do. Please feel free to enjoy our hospitality at any time. Perhaps even make your base of operations here?"
"I'm afraid not, Your Excellency, though I would love to. But business demands we work from Vermillion. You understand, right?"
"I do, sadly. We'll put this money to good use. I'm sure, ladies, that this is the start of a most profitable partnership..."
Another smile from Truelock. "It is most certainly profitable, Your Excellency. You can rest assured of that."

Players fell into place like clockwork. Stasinopolous and Costas both signed up (much to Tsakiris' disappointment), and other Pravenna internationals flocked quickly to light. Juliet Vatskalis, who had scored Pravenna's first international goal, was happy to show up from the B-League mediocrity. She brought Jess Peacock with her - starting regularly for Westpike United in the top tier aged 19, on the fringes in the second tier aged 23 thanks to a flurry of niggling injuries that had only just started to stop. Sgouros casually mentioned that Triffid Ramsey - daughter of Gethin Ramsey, Nepharim national hero - had been on loan at Diamondqueen with her last season. She'd looked good for that level at leftback, but her parent club, Chenoworth Rovers, was looking to ship her out on a free. She'd been brought into trial - she'd impressed. A cut above the level, and still very young. Katsaros had been watching last season's MPL, too. He knew Malone was a class player cut from Strangers, and swooped for him, backing himself to be able to tame the shrew. Malone's agent let slip that he was about to take on a talented ex-military amateur from Quebec looking to go professional - a scout gave him a look and said he was worth a trial, too. He was, as it turns out, and Daniel Bishop wound up on the books for a pittance. Nial Feirsen had been frozen out of Cornellians, and while scouting him, the young striker Sarah Dennis also caught his eye. Within the week, he'd signed them both. He knew Rhianna Bartok personally from his experience in the Nepharim second- and third-tiers, and when he discovered she was being let go, swept for her. The midfield was quickly coming together. Soon after that, a piece of paper from an Equestrian agent wound up on his desk begging for money for Chris Johannson, a journeyman in the twilight of his career. He was big and strong, and that'd do. Finally, looking within the Pravennan league itself gave him some meat to bulk the squad with. A quick pair of guileless backup wingers were snapped up, followed by the veteran defender Pagonis and, finally, the athletic target man and Plan B Kostas Metaxas, last season's top scorer for the Port Argos Phalanx.
And finally, after that flurry of activity, he had a team.
But now that he had the names on paper, what next?

"I hate fucking friendlies," grunted Rhianna Bartok as the side walked out into the tunnel.
"The friendlies are good for you," replied the captain coolly in capable but not fluent English. Stasinopolous spent a couple years in Jeckland, but it still wasn't that easy for her. "You build match fitness." That came with a pointed glance at Penelope Midstreet, expected to come off at half-time and neither matchfit nor exactly fit in a conventional sense, either.
"Dad always told me there was never a point in getting proper worked up for something if there was nothing at stake," groaned Ramsey. "Mind, I never got to walk out for the senior team outside of friendlies, so I guess there's that goin' for 'em."
"How good's this team, anyway?" Feirsen, pacing impatiently. "They're, what, fourth division?"
"Third," groaned an opponent, a blonde woman with 16 on the back of an green-and-blue striped shirt.
"Third Division's fourth-tier." said Medea Sgouros, sighing.
"That's a stupid fucking system," Feirsen decided.
It had been Katsaros' decision to face opponents in the lower reaches of the Nepharim league. After all, it was what he knew best... and it would be a good challenge for them. The strength of the opposition slowly increased throughout the series - Third Division Morningstar and Downsparrow, Second Division Kensey Town, a quick jaunt to build confidence against lowly Conference East side Riverkey before a tough test against recently-relegated First Division Chenoworth Harriers. A team that would probably crush them, but they said the same about the Pravennan national team.
What the Saints did have, at least, was worldliness. Every single player Morningstar would put out tonight was a Nepharim, and many were local. Pravenna's squad of eleven came from five different nationalities, with Johannson and Bishop taking the full squad's total to seven.
"C'mon," Michaels muttered to himself. "I need this..."
Katsalidis glanced over. "Haven't you scored in the Premiership? You haven't mentioned it that often."
"Near the end of the season, an equaliser against Chenoworth Rovers right in front of the home crowd..." The former Sabrefell Athletic striker did not have an eye for sarcasm.
"Quiet back there," came the captain's harsh voice. "Keep professional."
"Sorry, Stasi." Stasi had immediately become her nickname among the squad. It worked with both first and last names - the rarest and most cherished of nicknames.
Well, either way... the referee was starting to usher them out. It was time for the first match in Saints history...

Katsaros watched, and sighed. It was more or less the match he'd expected - scrappy, dirty, and with his own side struggling for fluency. 0-0 in the 78th minute, Midstreet withdrawn after a poor 50 (five more than he'd expected her to manage), and Morningstar's goalkeeper was looking sharp.
Malone threaded the ball past the hosts' big number six, putting Theo Michaels through. The small crowd perked up as Michaels produced a perfect first touch to take him past the other centreback, but... he was fast and young, and the angle was narrowing. He shot while he still could, and the goalkeeper scrappily punched it out for a corner.
It was something, at least. But they'd already had a few, and Morningstar had proven well-drilled and solid from them. Strong, too...
Still, Nial Feirsen looked confident as he strutted down to take it. He'd been dogshit for thirty minutes and the Saint's best player for the last forty. Katsaros hoped for more of the latter right now. The Schottian planted the ball on the corner, waved vaguely in the direction of the goal, stepped back and let fly.
It arced wonderfully over the box and found the head of Katsalidis, the big centreback rushing forward with intent to the far post, half a step ahead of his marker. The goalkeeper, backpedalling, swiped at it as he made a last-ditch effort to save it, then clawed it back over the line after he fell to earth... but it was too late. And Augustinople had their first goal - and, if they could hold out, a first win.

They held out - though it required some clean saves from Stasinopolous in goal and an encouraging debut from Johannson at defensive midfield from the 80-minute mark. Downsparrow was their next opponent, and they fell too - this in a much more open, exuberant contest. They scored first, beating Stasinopolous from a well-worked set piece, but Feirsen (looking like an early star) equalised with a free kick. But Markus Brenfold put the hosts ahead just before half-time, heading home a cross... would the Saints crumble?
Apparently not. They came out after the break rock-solid, distinctly the better side, and finally scored from open play - Michaels, who had been silent before half-time, scoring a brace.
Kensey Town were a step up in class, at least the equals of the Saints. But Bartok cutting inside clipped a shot past the goalkeeper, off the inside of the post and in. Hell of a right foot on her, Katsaros thought at the time. But they were just a little rusty, and just a little lucky to claim the win. Stasinopolous had been well-worked throughout.
Then came Riverkey. That was just a clusterfuck. With a moderately-rotated squad, they conceded three to semi-professional opponents - but six goals from six different scorers was always nice to take home, and Dennis had looked electrifying in her thirty-eight minutes on the pitch, youth be damned.
And then... the final test, on a train to Chenoworth. They'd strung four wins together somehow, all ugly in their own way, but this was the first match Katsaros expected to lose. The Harriers were a genuinely good team. Players like Payne and Keating who looked comfortable in the top flight, the rocksolid veterans Mackay and Markus in central defence...
And it was Daniel Payne who was played through an infuriatingly flat back four before rounding Stasinopolous and sidefooting into the net. The Saints came close to equalising just five minutes later, a half-volley from Michaels sorely testing Pearce Brice in the Harriers' goal, and all the while Feirsen was looking energetic on the left, Bartok terrifyingly good on the right, Vatskalis to anchor it all, Midstreet stringing some passes together including the orchestration of a series of quick triangles that played Malone into a lot of space. Sadly, as Katsaros was learning, when Malone shapes to shoot the ball generally ends up in row Z. And eventually Emma Maher struck powerfully past Stasinopolous from just inside the box, though the goalkeeper did at least get a hand to it.
Still, they'd shown fight and courage against a superior opponent. And that, at least, was a start.
They could build on it.
God knew they had to.

Overview
Due to the strict anti advertising laws, and the founding ethos of the Schottic Premier League, Schottia has never competed in the UICA. Instead the SPL has always stood as a consolidated and unified entity, and a ceiling for any Schottic players wanting to peruse a career in domestic football. As a result of this, it has oft been the case that players have been forced to ply their trade over sees in order to get a taste of international domestic football.

In a bid to combat this, and to fill a lucrative gap in the market regarding the screening of high profile matches, Cornellians FC were born. The team, who are modelled as something of a 'regional team' have always sought to field players from all over The Cornellian Empire in an attempt to open up as many audiences as possible. This has drawn criticism from some quarters, with fans claiming some signings have been made to appease sponsors.

As they approached their first season in the MPL there were few who held up much hope for the loosely laced together side, consisting of many players who couldn't even speak the same language. To the surprise of everyone, Cornellians took off however, under the stewardship of talented manager Jock Sonny who led them to second in the inaugural season.

Coaching team
Cornellians are managed by top Schottic manager Jock Sonny, who has a formidable track record in recent years. In addition to guiding Cornellians to second in the league last season, he also managed the Schottic side which lifted the Di Bradini Cup, and reached the last eight at the Olympics. Joining Sonny in the backroom staff are: famous TV pundit Bill Parker, along with coaches Ian Mill and former Cosumar captain Alexander Pearce. Sonny is one of the most respected managers in the Schottic game and is praised for his consistency and motivational skills.

Stadium
Lochend stadium is a brand new, state of the art 80,000 seater stadium built to accommodate for the growing fan base from all over the region. Last season Cornellians had ground shared with the Schottic rugby team at Duke Street as the viability of building a new stadium was assessed.

Lochend is located twenty miles outside of Handon, Schottia's capital city, and is easily accessed by bus or train. A dedicated service runs from the airport on match days, and is free to all ticket holders.

Tactics and formation
Cornellians normally operate a 4-4-2 formation with a flat, conventional, midfield four. The back four will likely remain unchanged from last season, with centre-back pairing of Michael Pabadakis, and Di Bradini Cup winner Scott Burton forming the base. The right and left wing-back roles should still be filled by Santiago Lowe and Captain Alexander Pearce respectively. One of the big changes to the side which finished second in the MPL last season is the inclusion of 21-year-old goalkeeper Jeremy McNott, who after his performances with the under-21s takes over from Shalumite keeper Sebastian Muller between the sticks.

The shock retirement of former club captain Sean O'Grady has left the Schottic side with a bit of a selection headache in midfield. The Alizerian, who formed such a formidable partnership with Mark Kelman, will be a huge miss in terms of experience and grit. Jock Sonny may look to go with new signing Tsumugi Narita, whom he got a good look at in the Di Bradini Cup final when Schottia edged out the Kirisaki side. There is also the option of bringing in Roman Lucius Carus, and we know Sonny rates the 20-year-old highly. The right wing position is likely to be fought out between Willie McIntyre and new loan signing Jeff Dennis. Dennis joins Cornellians from new Mesillan club Peacemakers, who he was set to captain before solvency issues prevented them from joining the conference. Jedorian star Cosmin Dobrescu will start on the left, as the winger will be hoping he can make the same impact he did last season. The versatile Ismal Keirut and Mesillan youngster Eula Richard will provide cover for injuries, and a healthy competition for places.

Up front is where Cornellians are strongest with the red-hot strike force of Daniel Cleopas and Eloisa Purinton. Cleopas was the teams top scorer last season, and despite his ill discipline and attitude made a huge impact. Purinton is the captain and star striker of Gloriax, who reached the last-16 in Felix & Yttribia. After joining the club at the midway point last season, Cornellians fans took the 21-year-old to their hearts, as she impressed with some excellent performances. New Signing Damien Sturridge from the Empire of Ghant provide cover, but should get his fair share of game time as well.

This represents the most likely formation and starting eleven. I am completely open, wherever my opponent deems it appropriate, for them to read the player descriptions and change the starting line-up. In addition to this, you can look at my most recent RPs to get an idea of who has been in the team of late. I will try to mark injuries and suspensions on this roster as the season progresses.

GK. Jeremy McNott 21, Schottia Image (m)
One three Di Bradini Cup winners in the squad, McNott gets his big break in club football this season after spending last year on the bench. A tall and decisive keeper, he is strong at crosses and corners.

RB. Santiago Lowe 27, Adiron Image (m)
The Adiran was one of the stand out players for Cornellians last season. His endless stamina and pace means that he is a real threat going forward.

LB. Alexander Pearce 37, Cosumar Image (m) c
The veteran Cosumar defender is an important player, but at 37 his days in the first team are probably limited. His experience was key to Cornellians' title push last season, and he has subsequently been promoted to player-coach.

CB. Scott Burton 22, Schottia Image (m)
A strong and resolute defender who has also represented his country at under-21 level. He was an ever-present part of last season's side, forming a solid partnership with Michael Pabadakis. At 22-years of age he probably has his best years ahead of him.

CB. Michael Pabadakis 24, New Edom Image (m)
The Edomite defender is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the region and one of the stars of this Cornellians team. He won the regional cup in 2014 with New Edom.

RM/AMC. Willie McIntyre 27, Schottia Image (m)
It is three years since McIntyre picked up his solitary Schottia cap, and has since faded into obscurity. He got a chance of a revival when he joined up with Jock Sonny at Cornellians, starting most of last season on the right. A fast, old-fashioned winger, he faces stiff competition to keep his place in the starting eleven.

CM. Mark Kelman 25, Schottia Image (m)
After joining from Port James Athletic Kelman has been one of the success stories in the Cornellians team. His impressive performances helped him work his way into the national team. An all action box-to-box midfielder.

CM. Tsumugi Narita 15, Kirisaki Image (f)
One of the team's big summer signings, will have a lot to live up to as she looks to fill in for retiring captain Sean O'Grady. The young, deep sitting play-maker, featured against the Schottic U-21s in the Di Bradini cup final.

AMC/L. Cosmin Dobrescu 24, Jedoria Image (m)
His national team might be one of the worst in the region, however, that hasn't stopped the Jedorian's performances capturing the imagination of the Eagles' fans. The attacking midfielder was the teams player of the year last season, putting in some outstanding performances. A fantastic left foot, he is also the side's set-piece taker.

CF. Eloisa Purinton 21, Gloriax Image (f) vc
Promoted to vice-captian, the Gloraxian youngster has proved to be an incredible bargain after joining on a free. Probably the highest profile player on the roster, she represents the greatest attacking threat in the side.

CF. Daniel Cleopas 23, New Edom Image (m)
Another Edomite international, Cleopas was the sides top scorer last season and you wouldn't bet against him doing so again. His strike partnership with Purinton is one of the strongest elements to the Cornellians team.

------

GK. Sebastian Muller 27, Shalum Image (m)
Keeper for much of last season, fell out of favour after failing to make the Shalum side for the Cornellain Cup 2015.

GK. David Prince 18, Schottia Image (m)
Young reserve keeper who still has lots to learn before he is ready for the first team.

RB. Max Scocroft 23, Schottia Image (m)
Understudy to Lowe, a quick and reliable player who can come in and do a turn.

LB. Triffid Ramsey 21, Nephara Image (f)
Brought in just before the halfway point of the season, the daughter of former Nephara manager Gethin Ramsey, is a long-term replacement to Pearce. Although she failed to make it back in her home country, her performances for the Saints in the Conference did just enough to catch Jock Sonny's eye.

LB. John Yardlee 20, Schottia Image (m)
Finds himself as cover to captain Pearce, and will be hoping for a chance to impress.

CB. Torsten Visser 27, Schottia Image (m)
A journeyman centre-back who has played for a host of SPL teams, solid when called upon.

CB. Gary Hamilton 22, Schottia Image (m)
A talented young defender, and a contemporary of Burton, slightly behind Visser in the pecking order.

CB. Jake Dooner 30, Schottia Image (m)
Just in the side to make up the numbers, he has had a long career of highs and lows but never really made it anywhere.

RLM. Larry Goodman 16, Schottia Image (m)
A promising teenager with bags of pace, Goodman is yet to make his mark on the team.

RM. Jeff Dennis 27, Venta de la Messila Image (m)
Dennis featured for Second Division champions Strangers last season, before leaving to captain start-up Conference side Peacemakers. While issues prevented his team from competing this season, Cornellians have secured his signature on a one year loan.

RM. Mark Freute 24, Schottia Image (m)
A strong midfielder who has been capped at youth level. His chances in the team are likely to be limited since the arrival of Dennis

LM. Eula Richard 20, Venta de la Messila Image(f)
The Masillan youngster was on the bench when her side played Schottia in the Di Bradini Cup quarter-final. Eula Richard will act as understudy for star winger Dobrescu this season, where she will hope to make her mark.

CM. Phillip Hanalii 23, Schottia Image (m)
Hanalii is unlikely to feature much unless there are injuries. A tireless midfielder who isn't afraid to get stuck in.

CM. Lucius Hirtius Carus 20, Roman Image (m)
Carus made a number of appearances last season, most coming off the bench. While the Late Roman Empire has never been known as a sporting powerhouse, it hasn't stopped the midfielder making a big impact. A defensively minded player, he is often brought on to steady the ship.

ACM. Ismal Keirut 21, Schottia Image (m)
Keirut is in and out of the first team. His versatility is sometimes his undoing, as it stops him from getting a regular fixed position. Fast, strong, and skilful, he represents a good attacking option for the team.

CF. Dahrla Bhosz 27, Deadora Image (f)
Bhosz got on the score-sheet five times last season, after joining from the Deadoran League. She was squeezed out of the first team after the signing of Purinton, but is still an important part of this side.

CF. Damien Sturridge20, Ghant Image
Signed from Ghantish side Onmutu just before the start of the season, the 10 million pound player may have to be content with the bench at first. Sturridge shot to prominence following Ghant's run in this year's Cornellian Cup.

Countess' tactics are predicated on having a solid defensive platform from which to build attacks. Typically, Dynapolis will play the ball out from the back, preferring not to play long balls out of defence unless necessary. On the attack, expect to see the physicality and athleticism of the forwards make more of an impact than the creativity and technical attributes of the attacking midfielders behind them.

Home Stadium: The Dragonpit, capacity 53,000
While previous incarnations of Dynapolis United have used The Dragon's Den, or the Benevolence Bowl as home stadiums, Metis have insisted that the club's original stadium be replicated. Building work was underway long before the club announced its intention to enter the MPL, and was completed in the spring. The stadium is built to resemble the Ancient Dragonpit of Banpo, said to have been used by ancient kings as housing for the legendary beasts from which the structure gets its name. Historians have suggested it more likely that the ancient House of Meilon -- which ruled over large parts of Rabastor (North Cyanea) prior to the establishment of the Kingdom of Osarius -- actually used the structure for war games and bloodsports, choosing the name based on their house emblem.

Fans:
Dynapolitans are generally a proud people, known for their particular love of bloodsports. As many of the peoples in the area are descendants of tribes known for producing warriors, the fans embody a similarly tribal, warrior-like mentality. The regional symbol is the dragon, culturally the counterbalance to the national symbol of the phoenix, and this underlines the Dynapolitan tendency to be quite contrarian when compared to Osarian culture at large. The club was once known as the "royal club" -- King George II played for the team, and was partly responsible for the founding of a professional football league in Osarius before ascending to the throne -- and enjoyed great wealth. After the club's initial dissolution, no incarnation since has come close to the wealth of the nation's richer clubs, leading many rival fans to mockingly refer to the team's wealth (Los Millionarios). Fans of the club, however, unfurl a banner prior to every game reading "Ezi uba" (true wealth), which became the club's unofficial motto during their previous incarnation, and the basis for the club's most popular chant.

Ownership: Metis plc
The long-time sponsors (and part-owners) of Firewood City made the decision to purchase Dynapolis United when the Osarian League of Association Football merged into LigAnaia, speculating that they could enter the club into a different league -- thus nullifying any potential conflict of interests through rivalry with Firewood City -- and capitalise on the then increased desire within Dynapolis (the region) for a local, elite football team. Initial estimates suggest that Metis were correct to take this approach, as pre-sale of season tickets sold out within two weeks. The revival of Dynapolis United's dedicated television channel -- through a lucrative deal with Astrarius Media -- has already guaranteed a return on the investment, though the ownership have decided to re-invest this cash into building a playing squad capable of challenging at an elite level. The long-term financial strategy for the club has not proven to be too ambitious, and Dynapolis are on course to be playing top tier football in the MPL within three seasons. Despite massive expenditure in their first season, it is expected that the club will dramatically cut losses over the following years and become self-sustaining. With sufficient prize money from their finishing league position this season, and expected increases commercial revenue, it is estimated that the club could break even.

Manager: Christian Countess (BAL)
The sixty-three year old former Dragons right back was, for a while, the club's record signing, and formed a crucial part of their title challenge in the now-defunct Balida Futball League. When the club was dissolved after a brief revival in Unitopolis, Countess stayed in Osarius, and coached smaller Dynapolitan clubs. Most notable was his stint at Charleston Athletic, where he led them to a Duchess Shield victory, and was in the process of returning the club to the Osarian top flight when the LigAnaia merge scuppered his plans. From there, he found himself at the OFA's Elite academy in Cavalane, Cerebremalium, as assistant director. Countess' main strengths are his tactical awareness -- partially a symptom of having spent so long in the Osarian coaching system -- and his innate understanding of defense. His debut season in charge at Dynapolis saw the team fade down the stretch, however, causing him to re-evaluate his squad's depth and his own willingness to rotate.

Assistant Manager: Michael Tennant (OSR)
A former teammate of Countess, the fifty-six year old was known in his playing days for his cultured, yet physical, defending style. This has carried over into his coaching style. Tennant, much like Countess, has a preference for physical, bruising defenders who can just as easily advance into midfield with the ball to launch an attack. The two have a strong working relationship, having spent much of the last decade coaching side-by-side; and being on the same wavelength certainly hasn't harmed either man's career.

Squad:
Last season suggested that some players may not be at the required standard for the MPL, and saw Countess cull several names from his squad. Most have been replaced with promising young talent, a lot of it from the club's own academy -- launched when Metis plc acquired the organization -- though there are understandably questions over the ability of the latter group.

The squad list is below, with higher squad numbers typically suggesting the player is expected to have less playing time. Players without squad numbers are not expected to feature this season, though may be called up to the first team and assigned a squad number at a later date.

Note that some players' roles have changed since last season, and others may be capable of playing similar roles that are not listed. For example, D'Angelo Richards can play fullback on either side.

Key players from last season, and likely targets for opposition defenders will be Kayode Afolayan -- the attacking midfielder's goalscoring ability was on display, most of his goals coming from the zone 18-25 yards out -- and the pacy winger Tony Daley. Daley's pace saw him become the most fouled player in the Dynapolis squad last season, while also covering more ground per game on average than all but Emilio Tapia. Zoe Barnes' efforts did not go unnoticed either, with the youngster from Masaka seemingly edging out Pesciano to take up the most defensive role in the Dynapolis midfield trio, her metronomic passing fitting perfectly into the system preferred by Countess.

While Emilio Tapia's promise didn't quite live up to expectations -- he fell short of making himself a regular in the Osarius national team; seemingly behind teammate Zoe Barnes in the pecking order at times, in fact, perhaps a function of their vastly different playing styles -- he retains the captain's armband for Dynapolis. The Dragons will still rely on him to drive action in the middle of the park, and he will be expected to arrive late in the opposition third to support Kayode Afolayan.

Typical starting lineup: [4-3-3] Monteforte; Scott, J. Tapia, Fraser, Reid; Barnes, E. Tapia (c), Afolayan; Abiola, King, Daley

Sporting Sangti. A newly-founded football club, established on January 22, 2024. Iscrachi Group, the brainchild of the club, was said to be interested in running a club based in the capital. However, the decentralization policy, which was very strong during the older regimes, prevented clubs from being based at the capital (or worse, from Region Capital itself, hence the absence of such leagues in the Regional Leagues era). Clubs started to be founded and become members of the Regional FA of the Region Capital, starting from Ramo Central, CF Lafoxpa, Barunio Asi, Vocla CF Merco and other clubs from the region on 2013 - but still, no clubs from Sangti were allowed to participate in the league, until such time that the Konsehong Pampalakasan ng Maharlikang Barangay (KPMB) decided to establish a club named CF Sangti to play at the Nationstates Premier League. After the NSPL experiment failed, CF Sangti entered the league pyramid instead, and is now in the third tier of Barangayan Football.

Before the establishment of Sporting Sangti by the Iscrachi Group, there was a club of the same name, participating in informal leagues in Southern Cantones, and held football sessions for youngsters. Their initial colors were yellow and orange hoops. They were also well-known in the capital, as they hold several football festivals, with support from the government and the FA Sangti (predecessor to the KPMB, like all sports organizations in TRB). But when the topic of conversation is about league participation, the two parties would not reach agreements. This cycle went on and on for several years, until the administrators of the club finally decided in 2016 to move to Southern Cantones - they subsequently renamed the club to Sporting Cencioino, and entered the league pyramid in 2017.

Two years after, CF Sangti began play at the sixth tier of Barangayan football, and since then, the decentralization policy was abolished, paving the way for a number of clubs from Sangti to participate in the league - Revolucionarios, and another club, which later became the Barangayan club of Project +90. The old Sporting decided to remain in Cencioino, and ceased all links to the capital, as such, the name "Sporting Sangti" was available to anyone who wanted to found them.

It was a strange, shotgun-wedding arrangement if Coach Finke had ever seen one, but the simple fact was that both teams needed a friendly and neither saw a better way to get one. It helped that the coach of the Mesillano U21s, Avery Trujillo, had played half a season for Strangers on loan from the White Sands Minutemen before succumbing to injury. The bond between Finke and Trujillo wasn't as deep as some, but he was hardly in a position to say no when his erstwhile centerback called looking for a match.

Avery looked better than Finke thought he would, which was somehow disappointing. The dew was still rising off the intramural pitch when the two coaches met to walk the field. Avery wore a black polo with khaki cargo pants and expensive ballistic sunglasses perched high on his head, while Finke wore the same ill-fitting suit he wore to every game. He talked Finke through the training program he'd developed, which was interesting to Finke on account of the half-dozen or so Strangers youth players who'd made the squad.

"They're staying in the billets here," Avery explained, "Eight to a room, segregated by gender. There's no room service and no custodial, so they're having to clean their own bathrooms and make their own beds. Some of them, you can tell they've never had to do that before."

Bill Parker's MPL Preview

Former sports journalist and Cornellians assistant manager Bill Parker gives his verdict of what may lay ahead for his side as they prepare for another gruelling season.

Last season the MPL treated us to some enthroning battles, not least the Premier League itself which went down to the wire, with three teams in the title race going into the final fixture. Cornellians unfortunately were squeezed into second place by the very impressive Smyslova Virmest, who sadly have not signed up again this season. Our draw with third-place side Raedburg on the last day of the season meant that we finished two points off the top.

The reigning champions may be gone, but this season promises to offer just as much in the way of interesting encounters. The Championship's runaway winners Strangers FC will be frown into the mix, and if they can continue to raise their game to the standard of the MPL, then they can expect to finish near the top of the table. As well as the other teams who were promoted from the lower division, the Premier League also includes Highale City and Alstagruuket Sarlaccs who finished mid-table last season.

Despite finding ourselves the highest performing side left in the tournament, the rest of the management team and myself have been taking nothing for granted. We have tried to add some strength and depth to the squad, making no less than four new signings. Fans from last season will remember Jeff Dennis (no relation to Sarah Dennis who departs to join Augustinople Saints), who helped Strangers destroy the rest of the Championship field. He may be here on a one season loan, but make no mistake, if he performs well, we will make sure he is here next season. Another name which stands out is Ghant's 20-year-old strike sensation Damien Sturridge. The player who has been instrumental in his nation's run to the quarter finals of our regional cup, will compete with Dan Cleopas and Eloisa Purinton for a starting berth.

One of the toughest things for us to deal with as a team, was the departure of club captain Sean O'Grady. The Alizerian decided to call it a day aged 32 (no doubt heading straight to the nearest bar), after a distinguished career. We have hopfully found a willing replacement however, in the form of 15-year-old Kirisakian wonderkid Tsumugi Narita who joins up from the youth academy there. If she can live up to anything near her potential then I feel the fans will be left saying "O'Grady who?" in a few weeks. The line up of new players is completed by another Mesillan Eula Richard, who will be hoping a change of seanery is just what she needs to get her career moving in the right direction. The left winger has found herself stuck behind like-for-like Sophie Buckley in both the Strangers team, and in the Under-21s.

When your checking the results tomorrow, please also look out for a few other matches. Former Marionville winger Lachlan Frazer, who was recently capped in a friendly, has left to join up with rivals Strangers. Also two Cornellians youngsters, Nial Fiersen and the afore mentioned Sarah Dennis are both competing with Augustinople Saints in the conference. Both of then are great wee players and it's sad that it didn't work out for them here, we wish them all the best.

So preparations are now very much underway for our first match of the campaign when we take on AS Blainville, a side we already know pretty well. It should be a good game, if our previous meetings are anything to go by. The side from Pays d'en Haut, boast a couple of very good players, including internationalists, Simon, clan Gauthier and Nicolas, clan Lapointe, who have both played in the full team recently.

We are certainly not taking anything for granted this season, and we know it will be a tall order to repeat our success last time round. However I feel, with hard work and determination, anything is possible with our current batch of players.

SPORT | Multiverse Premier League
Redfield: “We can win the MPL”

Sunday, May 10, 2015

With a brand new season of the Multiverse Premier League just around the corner, Raedburg manager and former Zitran Regional Cup winner Dako Redfield has voiced that he believes his team have what it takes to win the top division of the competition. After the Dragons third place finish in the previous season and with last year’s champions having pulled out of the tournament, it’s obvious that Raedburg have a very good chance of achieving their goal. But a few teams still stand in Redfield’s way. Ahead of the season, Redfield has also named various players he wants to use during the competition and has highlighted his ideal starting eleven.

All of last season’s side are still with the club for the new season, bar Adriano Raúl who departed for Poszar Savrinopov during the previous season. While Raedburg have a team of outstanding and world class players to pick from, Redfield has highlighted a number of them he wants to use in the Premier League campaign ahead of the start of the season. The first player he mentioned was Avantian midfielder Marco Reus who arrived from Borussia Dortmund during January and has seen only three starts for the club despite his star status. Miguel Rodrígo - who played a key part in Teremult’s URFA Regional Cup qualifying campaign - was listed by Redfield for his sheer talent. Among these big names was also 18-year-old Mario Güzen, a recently promoted academy product. Despite naming them, it is unclear where and when Redfield will play these players.

Labeled as one of the most organized managers in football, Redfield has also named his ideal starting eleven ahead of the new season. Seven Zitran players make up the squad while the other places are taken by international stars who have proven their worth to the manager over the course of their careers. 27-year-old Dako Zienen starts in goal for the team, an unbeatable goalkeeper who has kept more clean sheets than any NSL keeper and has won a Regional Cup with Zitru. The back four consists of the strong and agile Adrïn, natural leader Thiago Silva, the dominant Altova Danta, and the pacey Kale Kazern. Captain Dirk Kaïs sits in central-defensive midfield to lead the team behind ex-Monaco star James Rodríguez and Zitru’s Jaden Araädel. On either side of the midfield is Reuben Pazhkelazo, one of the best midfielders in the world, and Argentinoan international Ángel Di María who has seen more playing time since Ricardo Rubin’s injury. Up front on his own sits 23-year-old Lewis Gïll, an unstoppable strike-force and a hard-working goal machine.

During the interview with NBC in which he stated Raedburg were capable of winning the Multiverse Premier League, Redfield also revealed the loyalty of his players and the level of trust he holds with them: “Raedburg do not win games because of the big name players it has or because of its success in the past. Raedburg win games because of the passion and the dedication each and every one of its players show for the club, strengthening the team and playing every match like its a cup final. Raedburg play a unique kind of football that fans pay to watch - real football.” Redfield’s words are inspiring to readers, and are also completely true. With his team, Redfield already claimed his first piece of silverware in the 2014-15 League Cup by beating Dynamo Sportaka 2-0 in the final. He is also well on the way to a thirteenth National Soccer League title, another National Cup to add to the collection, and a tenth URFA Champions League title. Redfield has a chance to prove to the fans he is Raedburg’s best manager with a domestic treble and a Champions League trophy, and perhaps even an MPL title too...
