Intro

The Year is 2015. The Ukrainian Crisis saw Ukraine being split into East and West Ukraine, the West loyal to NATO, the East loyal to Russia, and tensions are high on the borders. The Islamic State has been stopped at last, and Syria is peaceful now that the United Arab Republic taken over it. Israel has made a formal declaration of war on Palestine, and the remaining Arab countries are fighting Israel and the US to save Palestine. Hong Kong has gotten violent as well, and is currently in a state of civil war. A 3rd World War is approaching us, who can stop it?

History: The year was 1862. The Battle of Antietam has just ended, in an inconclusive end result. General McClellan, Commander of the Army of the Potomac, failed to deliver a killing blow against Confederate forces near Sharpsburg, Maryland. This raised many outcries in the Union, whose population then resented the choice to not remove McClellan from command. This is not a major problem in and of itself, but in Washington City, a terrible situation occurred. President Lincoln came down with a particularly bad case of influenza. He was deemed unfit to be President, and for the third time in history, the VP took over the Presidency. However, Hannibal Hamlin, the man who took over the Presidency, was infamous for being a do-nothing politician, and the lack of a strong man on top only weakened the Union resolve. However, Union generals managed to pull together an enormous amount of troops to fight at Fredericksburg, Virginia, in December 1862. The battle was a Union defeat, with Confederate losses being upwards of 6,000 less than those on the Union's side. This broke Union morale, and the first negotiators began to meet to discuss terms for a peace.

Peace was reached in mid-January, 1863. The terms were simple: The CSA would be recognized as leaving the Union with the following: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and the Indian Territory. In exchange, the CSA would give up all territorial claims against the Union beyond that, and let West Virginia remain within the Union. When the Treaty of Fredricksburg was signed, Confederate crowds rejoiced from Richmond to Sante Fe. At last, Dixie was free to persue its own destiny.

Following the end of the Civil War, the new Confederate nation began to rebuild what damage had been caused by the war. By 1875, the CSA was well-established and featured a quickly recovering economy. However, slavery and racism continued to exist and flourish in the South. In fact, in 1880, the CSA declared war on Haiti to "put the Negroes in [their] place." The Haitian war was wrapped up quickly, but at a horrible cost. Massacres of black civilians, POWs, and other atrocities were abound in the war, raising outcry from the interational community. Empowered by their victory in Haiti, CSA forces occupied the Domincan Republic shortly after, on the grounds the Dominicans were holding War Crminals (the irony was lost on the Confederates). More atrocities occured, raising more outcry and a threat or two from the international community.

That outcry, after years of building up, was exploding. The Germans threatened war. So did The French. To appease the European Powers, after an entire year of debate, in 1885, the Confederate Stares of America Offically outlawed slavery, amending the constitution to prohibit the internal trade of slaves. This raised lots of internal outcry against the abolition, which threatened to tear the young nation in two. Eventually, tensions died down around 1889. However, the homeland yearned for more. And an accident gave them just that.

In 1897, a Spanish warship opened fire on the CSS Jackson, a Confederate cruiser, due to a miscommunication. All men on board were killed when the Spanish sunk it. In reparation, the CSA demanded over 1,000,000 CSD in reparation. However, Spain didn't want to pay it, so they negotiated a deal where the Confederacy would receive Puerto Rico in exchange for an apology and a treaty of non-aggression.

After the turn of the 20th Century, the CSA focused on internal affairs and building the Panama Canal, which it had recently bought from the French. When war in Europe dawned, the CSA declared neutrality. Meanwhile, a small border war broke out along the Rio Grande between Mexico and the Confederacy. In 1915 the CSA won this small conflict and gained a bit of the Mexican border. Meanwhile, the war in Europe continued to heat up.

The CSA entered the Great War in 1915 after the sinking of the RMS Lusitania, which killed around 150 Confederate civilians. The first troops of the Confedetate Expeditionary Forces, headed by General Thompson Ashburn, arrived in the spring of 1916 to support the Entente. By the end of WW1, over 250,000 Confederate soldiers died. This shocked the CSA into isolation for most of the early 20th Century. However, in early 1942, a German U-boat mistaking it for a British ship, sunk the CSS Georgia, a destroyer belonging to the CS Navy. This caused war, naturally, between the CSA and Axis Powers. The CSA would provide much for the war effort, in both troops and materials. The CSA's famed cotton fields came in handy when the Good War came, calling for materials to build uniforms and bandages.

In 1944, CS Army troops stormed Utah Beach as part of Operation Overlord, and would go on to fight in France and Germany in the waning months of the war. When the peace came, the CSA was one of the main negotiators for a fair peace, saying that Germany was merely mislead by how harsh the Treaty of Versailles had been.

After V-E Day, the CSA withdrew into a period of semi-isolation, mantaining the peace in Central America in a doctrine not dissimilar to the Monroe Doctrine. In the 60s, due to the rising civil rights movement, discriminatory laws were slowly repealed. In 1967, the CSA put a man in space. In 1977, the Confederate flag stood on the moon. Ever since the turn of the 21st century, the CSA has eased itself into the world as a major power (but not a superpower).

Pretty much the same except Denmark-Norway allied with Britain during the Napoleonic wars. They didn't help much and instead focused on defence. With the loss of trade with France, Denamrk-Norway became reliant on Britain and still is today, although that is fading. They gained nothing from the wars and have managed to remain neutral in every war since.
